Question: I recently read about a study done by Kansas University involving 14,500 people. The study showed that atheists felt less guilt after having sex than religious people. The strongest feelings of guilt were found in groups of very devout religious people, such as Mormons (funny, since they have so many children), Jehova’s Witnesses and Baptists, followed by Catholics. Having been on the spiritual path for many years, I have noticed that even many spiritual people have an ambivalent view of sex and struggle with various feelings of guilt or repression. Does Jesus have any recommendations for how spiritual people should look at sex? I mean, guilt does not seem to be a very spiritual emotion.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels: (June 8, 2011)

I give you two options:

Option 1: Don’t have sex.

Option 2: Don’t feel guilty about having sex.

Anything else is simply being lukewarm, and that will not give you maximum spiritual growth.

Let us first look at a historical perspective. When I walked the earth 2,000 years ago, there was no general or widespread sense of guilt associated with sexuality. The association between sexuality and sin was deliberately engineered by certain fallen beings in embodiment. They set themselves up as leaders of the Catholic Church and turned my teachings into one of the most efficient mind-control machines the world has ever seen.

Their reasoning was simple. They knew that the best way to control people is through a combination of guilt and fear. The fear was produced by focusing on sin, the idea that you have done something that prevents you from going to heaven. They then enlarged the concept of a hell for those who had not compensated for their sins, and this induced fear into the mass consciousness.

The next question was how to best produce guilt. Well, why not find an activity that most humans engage in and label it as sinful? Eating was one candidate, but since you have to eat, it wasn’t the best. Sex was far better, because you can live without having sex, yet most people have a natural urge to have sex. Thus, it was easy to set up a tension based on labeling people’s natural desire as sinful.

They then created the concept of “original sin” which says that you are conceived in sin. This led to the entire myth that I was conceived by the Spirit and born of a virgin, meaning I was the only human not conceived in a sinful way. Once this concept had been induced into the mass consciousness, it pretty much followed by itself that people started associating sexuality with guilt.

The fallen beings knew that most people would not want to stop having sex. So they knew people would have sex and feel guilty about it, which reinforced their co-dependency upon the fallen beings. This tapped into the age-old artificially created mindset that people had done something for which they needed to compensate, and that the only possible compensation was to follow the outer rules given by the fallen beings who were the leaders of their church.

It is this very mindset that to this day is the driving force behind the power of official Christian churches. And if you want to talk about sin, then the fallen consciousness is indeed the original sin and the only sin. Sin is the mindset that you have the power to choose to do something, but once you have done it, you do not have the power to free yourself from it by your own choices. You can choose to sin, but you cannot choose to transcend sin—for you need the fallen beings in order to do that.

From the very beginning, the fallen beings have attempted to deceive people into following them by creating a problem and then setting themselves up as the “saviors” who can help people overcome the problem. The problem being, that the problem was never real, as everything the fallen beings do is based on a lie. So if you take Portia’s teachings on free will, you see that there is no reason to feel guilty about doing anything.

Now, I know some people will instantly approach this statement from a black-and-white perspective and say I am advocating that you can do anything you want. Yet if you study Portia’s dictation, you see that this is not so. What Portia is saying is that you have free will, so you have the right to experiment with anything you can do on earth. Yet everything you do has a consequence, and you will inevitably experience that consequence.

In other words, there is no point in feeling guilt. In fact, continuing to do something while feeling guilty about it is simply an ego-game—one of the ways in which the ego keeps you in a lower state of consciousness. Of course, you have free will, so you have the right to choose to engage in this ego-game. But then you don’t need my advice.

So if you come to the realization that you do not want to experience a given consequence, you change the state of consciousness that produces the consequence. However, such a change is brought about by an “Aha” experience leading to a conscious decision—and not by guilt. Guilt truly is not a productive emotion, because it does not actually motivate you to change your state of consciousness. It springs from the fallen consciousness, so how can it help you transcend that consciousness? So guilt only puts you in a struggle to change an outer behavior, which is very difficult when you are not looking at the causative state of consciousness. The fallen beings know this also.

So the mature spiritual seekers will evaluate actions based on whether you want to experience the consequence of those actions. Do the inevitable consequences of my actions enhance my growth towards a higher state of consciousness, or do they impede that growth?

I know some spiritual people will say that having sex will not enhance your spiritual growth—on the contrary. However, this is a black-and-white viewpoint that springs from the fallen consciousness and is linked to the entire concept of sex as sin. The Living Christ takes the perspective of a practical realist.

As the collective consciousness is right now – and will be for the foreseeable future – the only way to produce children is through sexual intercourse. Thus, your physical bodies and even your emotional bodies are “wired” to produce sexual desires. This is what the fallen beings knew and what they took advantage of. The fallen beings also understood that this natural desire has been inflated by various factors, so that many people have an insatiable desire for sex—a desire that can never be satisfied.

The Living Christ makes this distinction and realizes that it is indeed necessary for a spiritual person to transcend the insatiable or dualistic desire for sex—because it consumes your attention and takes it away from spiritual activities. Yet this is not the same as suppressing all sexual desire. So the practical way to look at sex is how to deal with it in a way that does not detract from your spiritual growth.

As I said in another answer about fasting, you do not grow by taking extreme positions. Thus, seeking to force yourself to suppress all sexual desire is not the best way to grow, especially if it is done from a black-and-white perspective of thinking sex is wrong and that forcing yourself to abstain will guarantee some spiritual benefit.

The brutal fact is that over the centuries many religious people have forced themselves to abstain from sex, but the sheer mental force necessary has put them into a state of consciousness in which they become very judgmental towards other people. Such people subconsciously reason that since they are struggling, then everyone who is not struggling as much as they are cannot be as spiritual.

This has created a very dysfunctional mindset, in which many people think they have to struggle with the spiritual path and that the more they struggle with various self-imposed or guru-imposed disciplines, the more they make progress. And thus, such people feel it is their duty, even a mission mandated by God, that they go around judging other people. Yet this is simply looking at the splinter in the eye of another as an excuse for not looking at the beam in your own eye.

Of course, suppressing sexual desires through force can also lead to various activities – power games of all kinds, including those involving sex – that are far more detrimental to your spiritual growth than a balanced sex life. Just look at the sex-abuse scandal in the Catholic Church. Which, by the way, is partly the Church’s karmic return for being instrumental in causing so many people to feel guilty about sex.

It is necessary to take a more balanced approach to the spiritual path. There is indeed a phase on the path, where you have to raise your consciousness above the downward pull of the mass consciousness. And during this stage, it is necessary to go through various disciplines, that involve abstaining from some of the actions that pull you down. And for people who have had their sexual desires inflated or have been addicted to sex or pornography, it can indeed be necessary to abstain from sex during this phase, even if it does require a struggle. I gave another answer about sex several years ago that was given for people at this level of the path.

Yet as I say throughout this website, balance is the key ingredient of spiritual growth. So once you have raised your consciousness beyond the mass consciousness, you need to work towards a balanced approach; the Middle Way spoken of by the Buddha—which I simply called “The Way.” If you keep forcing yourself to follow more and more extreme disciplines, you will actually take yourself into a blind alley, where you might feel holier than other people, but you are not making any spiritual progress. Because in the more advanced stages, your main challenge is to flow with the River of Life—and this requires you to transcend the mindset that sees force as the only solution.

So how does this relate to sex? Well, living a balanced life means that you overcome any division between “human” activities and spiritual activities. You spiritualize all activities, including sex. This means you can live a normal active life without feeling that your daily activities are contrary to your spiritual growth.

Obviously, your goal is to be the open door for the Presence, and that requires a certain amount of attention on the Presence. Which means you do not want anything that distracts you too much from going within. So the question is how to make sure that sex is not such a distraction. How can this best be achieved—by forcing yourself to abstain from sex or by finding a balanced approach to sex?

If you are living in a committed relationship, you might acknowledge the fact that your physical and emotional bodies produce sexual desires. You can then look for a way to deal with this desire that produces the least amount of distractions. And for most people, forcing yourself to abstain from sex will be a struggle that becomes a distraction. In other words, forcing yourself to abstain from sex can draw your attention towards the body far more than having a balanced sexual relationship with your partner without feeling guilty about it.

What I am saying is that you can transcend the insatiable aspect of sexual desire and find a balanced approach. One measure of this could be how much you think about having sex. In a balanced relationship, you find a frequency based on the desires of both partners. When you have sex, you enjoy it, and when you are not having sex, it is really not on your mind. Thinking about sex when you are not having it – especially if you indulge in sexual fantasies – is a sign of a lack of balance.

It is also helpful to acknowledge that the expression “having sex” is not truly the highest way to look at sex. Modern society has pulled this act down to a level of being very physical. And certainly, it is very possible to drag the sex act into the mud and turn it into an activity that is clearly detrimental to spiritual growth. Yet there is also the potential to elevate the act of making love to a spiritual activity, that has a very important function in terms of uniting two partners and helping them achieve a higher sense of unity and oneness.

Thus, if you are a spiritual person and if you are living in a committed relationship, I encourage you to make an effort to let go of the “sin and guilt” baggage relating to sexual activity. Far too many spiritual people have burdened or ruined their relationships because they have not let go of the fallen consciousness concerning sex.

When I was in embodiment, I had sex with Mary Magdalene, but it was not a sexual activity but a spiritual activity that enabled us to achieve a higher degree of oneness in our relationship. Since you are in a physical body and since the body offers you this opportunity, why not take advantage of it? Rejecting such an option is not truly spiritual—especially when the rejection is based on the fallen consciousness.

I understand that this offers little comfort for people who are not in a committed relationship. For such people it is indeed valid to turn down the sexual desires, as you do not want to start a relationship based on sexual desire. You want to keep it at a level, where you can wait for the right spiritual partner to come along.

Yet this does not mean that you suppress your sexual desires through force. You can divert the sexual energies from the base chakra to the upper chakras, as I talk about elsewhere.

So as a summary, let me talk about several levels in how spiritual people might deal with sex:

• The beginning stage is where you need to raise yourself above the mass consciousness, which of course seeks to inflate sexual desires, so that the fallen beings can control you through insatiable desires that take your attention away from spiritual activities. At this stage, alertness, discipline and even abstinence are the tools to use, as described in my earlier answer.
• Once you rise above the insatiable sexual desires, it is possible to have a balanced sex life in a committed relationship, where the partners satisfy each others sexual desires, so that these desires do not detract from their spiritual pursuits. Sex becomes an innocent, playful activity that requires little thought before or after.
• At a higher level, a committed couple can raise their sexual activities beyond the level of physical sex and turn them into a spiritual activity aimed at producing a higher union.
• It is also possible that people can transcend all sexual desires. This is, of course, especially applicable for single people. But certainly, couples can also reach this level. However, this level is not necessarily more spiritual or right than the previous level. In fact, it is difficult to get to this stage without going through the previous stages. Once you have achieved a balanced relationship with sex and even gone beyond to spiritualizing your sexual relationship, it is easier to grow beyond sexual desires in a balanced way.

You do see the point, don’t you? What keeps you out of the ascended state of consciousness is the force-based state of consciousness. So this is the mindset you need to transcend. Thus, doing anything that reinforces this state of consciousness will slow down your growth.

Insatiable sexual desires and all sexual perversions are the products of the force-based state of consciousness. Seeking to overcome these desires by using the force-based state of consciousness simply will not work. You do not truly transcend sexual desires by forcefully abstaining from sex. You transcend them by being able to engage in sex without feeling there is anything dirty or sinful about it.

Thus, for all spiritual people, it is important to go through the stages outlined above and come to a more spiritual and non-attached relationship with their sexuality. And on this journey, it is essential to overcome all tendency to associate sex with guilt. It is not God or the ascended masters who want you to feel guilty for having sex. It is only the fallen beings and your own ego.

Question: So here’s my brief question. I believe everything you’ve written about homosexuality and it feels true deep, deep down. Even though I have this deep recognition, I still have chosen to engage in a homosexual relationship with a guy that makes me feel very loved and I enjoy spending time with. I realize that it is within my capacity to give the love I feel with him to myself, I feel like I am with him more as a celebration of life than a compensation. I also believe myself to be an amazing human being who is very loving, kind and compassionate that radiates love and compassion. My question comes out of a slight conflict inside… having read all that information on the spiritual cause of homosexuality, I feel a bit of a tug of war in my psyche. I feel that I really love my boyfriend and that I would not want to give something that I find positive and rewarding up. I feel like our relationship is about love, support and care for each other… I would give it up for God and for enlightenment for sure… but I’m not to sure that it isn’t possible to live a healthy, loving, aligned life as a homosexual. Any thoughts on this?

Thank you for your honesty, and for bringing up an issue that is relevant for all spiritual seekers. I am not hereby saying that all spiritual seekers will face the issue of homosexuality; I am saying that we have all had to face the issue of having a “bit of a tug of war in my psyche.”

To the person writing the question, you will see here that you have already started realizing that you are a universal spiritual being who is simply at present engaged in a homosexual relationship. In other words, you are not defining yourself by or identifying yourself with this relationship. If you were, you would not have been able to formulate such a question, nor would you have been willing to ask for my feedback.

So you might consider that there are advanced lifestreams who have taken on many different kind of roles in order to either pay back karma with certain people, in order to give other people a special opportunity or in order to demonstrate that their Spirits are not defined or limited by a certain condition. So you need to be aware that there might be a deeper reason behind your engagement in certain activities than what seems obvious to the outer mind. Each person will be able to know these deeper reasons by tuning in to what you already know deep, deep down. And based on this inner recognition – as it becomes progressively clearer – you might come to the realization that cycles have turned and it is time to move on.

Yet be aware that there are often cycles that must be fulfilled, and thus there can be a time where it is within your divine plan that you stay in a certain condition, such as a relationship. In other words, without in any way invalidating or watering down what I have said previously about homosexuality, there are some people who can – for a cycle – engage in “a healthy, loving, aligned life as a homosexual.”

The crucial distinction being whether people are identifying themselves based on homosexuality or whatever other conditions they might be facing as part of their spiritual mission. In other words, if you are NOT identified with the condition, then use this simple formula: Can you engage in a certain condition without having an inner conflict about it, meaning that it feels more like a “celebration of life than a compensation?” If so, continue, but also continue to develop your intuition and attunement.

If you cannot engage in the condition without feeling a “slight conflict,” then that is a sign that it is time to look at the division and get the inner direction you are meant to have. So do look at the division and dare to act on the direction you get. You may not have the full understanding, but if you take the step you can see that you are meant to take, then the wheels will start turning and the next step will become obvious.

This is multiplying the talents – vision – you have, and many spiritual seekers have failed that initiation because they want to have full clarity before they move on. Yet you will never have full clarity as long as there is a division in your psyche behind which you are allowing your ego to hide—because there is something you are not willing to look at.

Now, once you have been willing to look at and transcend all division in your psyche, it is possible that you will still continue to outpicture a certain condition as part of your divine plan. Yet at that point you should be able to have a true sense of peace about the condition. You should know that it is something you have taken on for a purpose.

Of course, as a final twist, let me also point out that when you come to the point of realizing you can live with a condition without compromising your true identity, then that is usually a sign that it is time to move on. For you have now mastered that condition and can move on to the next thing you need to learn or teach. Of course, once you are at that point of inner resolution, you will not need my outer directions, as your inner directions will be clear. And had you not been willing to listen to those directions, you would not have attained the higher peace of mind.

So as always, there are stages of the path. In this case, there is a lower stage where people are spiritually blind. There is then the stage where they begin to awaken, and that is where they need to look at any division or tug-of-war in their psyches. The tug is from the ego, but it will remain a tug only as long as the prince of this world has something in you that he can pull on.

So at the next stage, you overcome division and now have true peace of mind. And at that point, it is a matter of flowing with the Spirit so you stay in a certain condition only as long as it is part of your divine plan. For those who attain inner peace, part of their divine plans will be to demonstrate how to transcend the earthly conditions that most people allow themselves to be defined by.

So when you realize that part of your mission is to show people how to transcend, then get on with transcending. I could have postponed my crucifixion indefinitely, but I was willing to flow with the cycles. If you tune in, you will get a sense that there are cosmic wheels turning, and when you surrender to the flow, you will be amazed at how outer conditions can change “in the blink of an eye.” This is the sign of those who are willing to follow the Living Christ and let the dead bury their dead.

Question: As Spiritual Beings, how do we spiritualize the sexual act and transmute the energy in the mass consciousness? Some women do and some do not feel that sex is a degrading act. Some are thinking that perhaps as a different age group of women have a different experience?

Answer from ascended master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels:

There is much more to be said about this topic. And surely we will say more as the time is appropriate, as the foundation is laid. But it is perfectly true that there is a different experience, depending on your age as a woman.

As everything has two sides, there is so to speak, an Alpha and an Omega aspect of sexual activity. The Omega aspect is, of course, the biological reproduction, the production of children, which at the current level of consciousness of humankind can only happen through physical activity. And so, what you often see is that – I am speaking here in general terms – but what you see is that there is a natural progression in the life of a woman, where when she is younger, she is more attuned to the need to produce children, therefore more attuned to her physical body and to the need for biological reproduction. And therefore, she often tends to have a different view of sexuality as not being a dirty, degrading activity, but indeed being a necessary activity for the reproduction of life.

You will also, though, see some generational differences, where there is now a younger generation coming into embodiment, who have for better or for worse, a more relaxed attitude to life and therefore have more of an attitude of, “Well, if we are here anyway, why not enjoy it,” which you see outplayed in certain, of course, perversions such as drugs and alcohol and partying. But you also see the positive aspect of a more relaxed attitude to the material realm in general. Nevertheless, my greater point is that as a woman goes through her reproductive age, she is generally more tied to the need to produce children and therefore tends to look upon sex as something that is indeed necessary, perfectly natural and unavoidable in a sense.

Yet when people mature – both men and women – they are meant to go beyond this stage. For, of course, men also when they are younger are driven by the need to reproduce, and so this comes out as men’s desire to have sex or have more of it, which is also driven by the desire for reproduction. This is manifest in your bodies in terms of hormones, that for many people are completely driving their relationships or their view of sexuality, where they simply let their hormones decide the frequency of their sexual activity. Nevertheless, as people mature and come to the point of going beyond the normal reproductive age, they are meant – ideally – to mature into taking a more spiritual view of life and indeed a more spiritual view of sexuality.

This then, in an ideal situation, would mean that both men and women will transform their view of sexuality. And in a more spiritual culture, where people have a spiritual understanding of who they are, it would indeed be not unusual that some couples would come of age and would desire to either abstain from sexuality for the rest of their lives and focus on spiritual activities, or they might abstain from it for a time in order to distance themselves from the consciousness that was there in the reproductive age, and indeed raise their awareness of sexuality to a more spiritual level. I am not saying all couples have to do this, but it will be helpful for many couples to have a period of abstaining from sexuality, in order to transcend the consciousness that they had earlier.

Now, there are then two ways that couples can go. They can either continue to abstain from sexuality or they can transform it into a more spiritual activity. Where instead of a physical activity, they begin to see it as a spiritual activity that has the purpose of helping both of them attain greater oneness with each other, which then can help each of them attain greater oneness with their Higher Selves. Now, as you well know yourselves, you do not need to be in a relationship, and you do not need to have sex with your partner in order to attain the greater sense of oneness with your Higher Self.

But nevertheless if you look at the general population, you will see that there are those, who need to first have a sense of oneness with a person that they can actually physically interact with, before they are able to attain that spiritual oneness with their Higher Beings. Many of you who are spiritual people have transcended that stage in past lifetimes, but many among the general population have not, and therefore it is indeed perfectly legitimate that people at that level of consciousness have continued to have sexual activity but transform it into a desire for oneness—spiritual oneness with each other in the relationship.

However, this will of course require some major transformation of both men and women, for men must indeed overcome the biological urge that really you can see in many animals, where the men out of biological reasons of broadening the gene pool, are driven by hormones to have sex with as many women as possible, which is what you indeed see in animal populations where they do not have monogamous relationships. This of course is not realistic at the human level. And those men who are seeking that kind of relationships with many women, have simply – to be honest – not transcended the animal urges.

So if men are able to transcend this, they can then begin to see that sexuality can have a higher purpose, which means then that they can escape the entire consciousness that sexuality and the desire for sexuality is driven by the physical attributes of the woman. Which of course drives many men to seek a certain stereotype, or to begin to look at their maturing wives as being not as sexually attractive as when the wives were younger. And do you see, that as long as men maintain this view, it is not possible for them to transcend into a more spiritual approach to sexuality. On the other hand, women must also transcend what you rightly called the mass consciousness that degraded women into sexual objects that have to live up to certain physical characteristics in order to be sexually attractive.

You must then as women come to recognize that if you have a partner who is able to transcend, what we might call, the biological approach to sex, and attain a more spiritual approach, well then you should also recognize that that partner will not find you attractive primarily because of your physical attributes, but because of who you are as a person. And therefore it does not matter, that your bodies are being transformed into no longer fitting the norm of what is considered sexually attractive in society.

You know that norm was unrealistic to begin with. And you know it is something put upon you by the dark forces—for certainly, when God has created diversity, then it cannot be God-inspired to set up a standard that all women should look a certain way in order to be attractive. This makes no sense whatsoever. And so you must recognize that in order to have that transcendence, both men and women must seek oneness, spiritual oneness, and this transcends the physical body.

As I said, there are many people who find it very easy to attain that oneness through physical union, but certainly it is not the only way it can be attained. But what I am encouraging you to ponder here is that there are stages in your life. There is a stage where you can – and many of you should for various reasons both karmic and spiritual – have children. But when you go beyond that age, well then you find a different approach, where men and women do not come together to reproduce physical children. But they come together to reproduce the spiritual children of the Christ child being born in both the man and the woman. And this then brings the entire relationship to a higher level. And as long as you are striving for that oneness, well then, whatever you desire to do in terms of sexuality will not be dirty, will not be degrading, will not be anti-spiritual. As long as the intent is pure, the activity will be pure—if you take proper precautions and invoke spiritual protection.

But this again relates once in a while sitting down, looking in the mirror and accepting your positive qualities. Do you understand, my beloved? As a woman you need to transcend the consciousness, that you will only be attractive to a man based on your physical attributes. You need to acknowledge that what men – at least mature, more spiritual men – are truly attracted to is your real Being as a woman. For men do not have as much of a female quality in themselves, and they have often been brought up to suppress what they have, and so they seek balance in themselves by interacting with you. And you women can, of course, find balance in yourselves by interacting with the men.

And so, do you understand here that it is not the physical that a man is truly attracted to—it is your female Being, but also your individual expression of that female Being. And therefore, he appreciates you for who you are—if he is a mature man. And you must then be willing to be the mature woman and accept that you are worthy of that appreciation. For if you do not accept yourselves as worthy, how can you receive what the man is offering you?

And then, if you do not receive, there is not the closing of the figure-eight flow. Which is why, Kuan Yin stated that receiving is an active quality. But when you are in a state of feeling that you are no longer attractive because your body has changed, when you feel you are not worthy of a man’s appreciation because of physical attributes, then you cannot take that active step of receiving and accepting the appreciation.

This is very similar to what happens in the material realm with the Mother Light itself, where it can be trapped in an imperfect form where it cannot receive the light from Above, the Light of the Father that can set it free. This is what you see in human beings in general, both men and women, that they are not able to receive the appreciation and the unconditional Love that they are constantly being offered from the ascended realm, from their own Higher Beings and from us of the ascended masters. And so, therefore, they cannot accept that they are worthy to transcend their current level of consciousness and rise above it, and indeed spiritualize their lives, no matter what mistakes they might have made in the past.

And so, again, there is much more to be said here and much more will be said as the foundation is set and as we have those, who are willing to be open. The key to raising up and healing the psyche of the nations is truly to raise up the relationship between man and woman, between the masculine and feminine aspect of God.

We encourage you to discuss this topic, even forming various groups where you can discuss this openly. And if the women desire to have a group where men are not present, then that is perfectly acceptable if you need to withdraw and have this resolved on your own. And then perhaps bring the men into the picture, after you have received some greater clarity on your own.

I am not saying this as a joke. I am simply acknowledging that this is primarily a topic, as we have said, that women need to resolve, and therefore you need to do what is necessary in order to resolve it. And the men need to accept that there are certain aspects of female psychology that they cannot understand, for indeed men tend to think differently. I am not saying that this is true for all men. But even many spiritual men do not fully understand what women experience.

Question: Dear Jesus, since I know no topic is a “no no” and you are willing to answer any questions upon any topic… I thought I’d ask since some people say masturbation is a sin (because it’s a form of lusts, what you said is adultery) while others say… that it’s healthy and relieves stress…. I would be grateful if you could answer me that from your view point as a spiritual teacher, is masturbation helpful to a lifestream’s growth or even necessary? If masturbation isn’t beneficial to the lifestream, then how do you get rid of the stress? I would be glad if you could please comment on this very opinionated topic.

Question 2: Could you help us with the following: I have not settled an aspect of sexuality, i.e. masturbation. I have the following questions: Do you really misqualify light through it, and what if you have sex in a marriage and out of love you have sexual intercourse. I learned that in that case you don’t misqualify light. So, what is the difference? Can you tell us why a lifestream is so much attracted to this kind of self-gratification? Could you give me us any in-depth teaching that would clarify this whole matter and give us also insight how to settle this aspect of life.

Certainly, no question is taboo, although some people would prefer that I didn’t address certain topics. This unwillingness to consider a topic is usually due to the fact that the person is not willing to revise his or her opinion about the topic. In my discourse on the spiritual cause of homosexuality, I give the following teaching:

God has a dual nature, namely the masculine and feminine, the yang and the yin elements. Everything in the entire universe is created through a harmonious interaction, a harmonious union, of the masculine and feminine polarities of God. When the two come together in a harmonious union, new life is created.

Everything in this universe is an expression of these two aspects of God. This filters all the way down to the material universe, and that is why a human lifestream has a masculine and feminine aspect and why human bodies are masculine or feminine.

You will notice that when a masculine and feminine body come together in sexual union, new life can be created. However, if two bodies of the same sex attempt sexual union, they cannot create new life. What you see in the material universe is simply an outpicturing of a spiritual principle.

This ties in with the fact that all of your actions will qualify the energies of God. When a man and a woman come together in sexual union, it is possible that this union will qualify the energies of God in a pure, one might say Holy, manner. Therefore, the energies generated by the sexual union can ascend back to the spiritual realm. When this occurs, both sexual partners will have a deep experience of union, not only with each other but with something beyond their lifestreams. They can indeed experience a spiritual union with their higher selves.

However, I must caution that there is no guarantee that heterosexual sex will always produce a sense of union or qualify the energies in a pure manner. On the contrary, the vast majority of sexual intercourse falls below the critical mark and misqualifies the energies of God. This will inevitably occur if people engage in sex purely for the gratification of the body or the physical senses. If there is not a true and pure love and a pure desire for spiritual union, sexual intercourse is likely to misqualify energy.

When you have an interaction between two bodies of the same sex, you do not have a masculine and feminine polarity. Therefore, there is no possibility that the interaction can produce a true union between male and female aspects. [end quote]

I think it should be obvious that these statements also apply to the topic of masturbation. When there is no masculine/feminine polarity, there is no possibility that the energies released can be qualified with a higher vibration. In other words, masturbation will always misqualify energy.

Add to this the statement, “However, I must caution that there is no guarantee that heterosexual sex will always produce a sense of union or qualify the energies in a pure manner.” The deciding factor here is whether the partners seek to give or to get? Do they seek the gratification of the physical body and the dualistic mind, or do they seek the gratification of the lifestream? Do they seek gratification of the lower self or the larger self?

A lifestream can have a legitimate desire for sexual union. However, this desire is not focused on the physical body and it is not fueled by the dualistic mind. It is truly a desire for union with something outside itself, and in order to experience that union, the lifestream must look beyond itself.

My point being that although the lifestream can have a desire for union with a person of the opposite sex, that desire will not be expressed as a desire for masturbation. Therefore, masturbation is always fueled by the physical body and the dualistic mind. It is always a self-centered desire that seeks self-gratification without the giving of self. One might say that the lifestream has no desire for masturbation, meaning that when a person feels such a desire, it is because the lifestream has retreated and the person’s conscious mind has given in to the desires of the physical and the emotional bodies.

There are many people in the world who live almost their entire lives on a quest to satisfy these lower desires. Yet for a person on the spiritual path, it is important to rise above these lower desires. You must silence the loud voices of worldly and dualistic desires so you can hear the quiet voice of the true desires of your lifestream.

Let me make it clear that masturbation is not necessary to the lifestream’s growth, and it is not healthy for the lifestream’s growth. The problem here being that when you give in to the dualistic desires, you place yourself on a slide, and the gravitational force of the mass consciousness will constantly pull on you to go further down that slide. Many people slide further and further down the slide during a lifetime, but as a spiritual seeker, you cannot afford to do that. The essence of spiritual growth is that you go the other way, that you overcome the gravitational force of the mass consciousness. That consciousness is very strong when it comes to sex, and people will do almost anything to justify the desire for sex.

The idea that masturbation is “healthy and relieves stress” is a perfect example of the “justification” that springs from the mass consciousness. The reasoning is that since God created us with sexual organs, it is only natural that we express our sexuality, and if we don’t have a partner, masturbation is a natural way to relieve the stress. The lie here is that there is no end to dualistic desires; they are like a black hole that can never be filled. So you can literally spend your entire life trying to satisfy dualistic desires without ever getting there. It is an impossible quest that ends up swallowing up your life.

In reality, masturbation might relieve stress on a temporary basis, but in the long run it only reinforces the dualistic desire that created the stress in the first place. In other words, when you give in to dualistic desires, you create a self-reinforcing spiral that takes you down as far as you allow it to take you. If relieving stress only leads to more stress, where is the relief? In reality, this leads to addiction rather than freedom.

I am aware that most young people come to a point where they start exploring their bodies, and they end up masturbating. This is not necessarily a serious concern of mine, but the problem is that once you start going down the slide, masturbation quickly develops into an addiction. Your body now starts telling you that it cannot survive without sex, and it makes your life miserable if it doesn’t get it.

The biological fact is that if you don’t eat, drink or sleep, your body will die. Yet you can live an entire lifetime without having sex. My point being that sex is not a survival need; you can indeed live without it. I am not hereby saying you have to live without it. I am only saying that as a spiritual seeker, you need to be clear that you cannot allow the sexual desires that spring from the dualistic mind to run your life. You need to master the body and the dualistic mind instead of letting them run your life.

This starts with a firm decision, and you have already made many decisions that can help you. For example, I am confident that for the people open to this website, rape is not an acceptable way to relieve the stress of sexual desire. So you have already made the firm decision that certain types of behavior are not acceptable ways to fulfill sexual desires. You simply need to add masturbation to the list. I have no problem with people living in a committed relationship, where the two partners fulfill each others sexual desires in a balanced and loving manner. Therefore, I encourage people to decide that this is the only acceptable way to fulfill your sexual desires.

The consequence of this is that if you are not currently in a committed relationship, then you simply cannot fulfill your sexual desires. Therefore, you need to find other ways to deal with those desires, which I will comment on shortly. My point here is that once you have made a firm decision, you are more than half way to the goal. The reason most people are continually bothered by sexual temptation is that they have not made a firm decision concerning how to fulfill sexual desires. Therefore, it is so easy for their own dualistic minds and for dark forces to tempt these people. And once you open yourself up to temptation, the pressure keeps building until you can no longer stand it. Something breaks, and it is usually your will. You need to avoid getting near that point of no return.

This leads us to one of the above questions, “If masturbation isn’t beneficial to the lifestream, then how do you get rid of the stress?” The best way to deal with stress is to prevent it from building critical mass—meaning that you can no longer control it. As I explain throughout this website, you are alive because you receive a stream of spiritual energy from your I AM Presence. This energy, this life-force, enters your energy field through the Secret Chamber of the Heart chakra. It is then distributed to the other chakras, including energy center that is normally called the base chakra.

The natural flow of energy is that the life-force rises through all of the seven main chakras, but the energy can be diverted into any of the chakras. For example, when people have a self-centered, body-centered sexual desire, some of the life-force will be diverted into the base chakra. A self-centered desire always causes the chakra to spin the wrong way, which will cause the energy to be qualified with a lower vibration, leading to a buildup of energy in the chakra. This is what feels stimulating to the sexual organs, but as the energy builds, the stimulus turns into stress that can become very uncomfortable.

As the energy builds, the chakra is discolored, and that is why you see many spiritual and New Age teachings that show the base chakra as orange or dark red. When the base chakra is spinning the right way and is pure, it radiates white light.

As a spiritual seeker, you need to learn how to feel when energy is building up in your chakras, and this is very easy to learn about the base chakra because it has physical symptoms. The first step toward taking control over your energy field is to avoid anything that leads to sexual stimulus. In other words, if you are a spiritual seeker, you don’t indulge in pornographic images or movies, and you avoid sexually explicit conversations. I admit that in today’s western society, you are constantly bombarded with sexually explicit material through the media and advertising, yet you can learn to simply let it pass you by without affecting you. You simply refuse to give it direct attention because it is your attention that magnifies sexual desire. My point is that if you want to avoid being burned, you don’t deliberately pour gasoline on a fire.

You can also achieve a lot by invoking spiritual protection, and the decree to Archangel Michael is my first recommendation. Call for the protection of your desire body and base chakra. There are numerous dark forces who seek to inflate your sexual desires in order to trick you into misqualifying energy. These forces are directly behind the entire sex industry, including movies and advertising. So you need to be diligent in defending your forcefield from their attacks. I also recommend using the decree to Astrea to cut yourself free from any ties to dark forces and for clearing your base chakra. Obviously, you can also use Mother Mary’s invocations or the violet flame to transform any misqualified energy that has already built up in your base chakra and desire body. You might even review my teachings on how to combat an addiction, because for many people sexual desires have become a lifelong addiction.

The next step is that you learn not only to sense how energy flows through your chakras, but you learn how to control the flow of energy. This is an essential ability for any serious spiritual seeker, and again sexual energies are the perfect way to practice. You need to learn how to consciously prevent your life-force from flowing into the base chakra and the sexual organs. And you need to learn how to reverse the flow once it has already started flowing in the wrong direction.

For an intuitive person, this is not nearly as difficult as it might seem. Yet most people will be greatly assisted by using a technique, and I have given one elsewhere. However, you can also use various forms of Yoga and Tai Chi exercises for this purpose.

Let me end by stressing the importance of making a clear decision. Most people were brought up with a confused and contradictory view of their sexuality. If you can resolve some of this confusion – and I have given a number of teachings in this section that can help you – you can end up making a firm decision about how to express your sexuality. Once you have connected to your lifestream’s desire concerning sexuality, you have the best possible foundation for taking control over the sexual desires that spring from the physical body and the emotional body.

As always, I encourage you to adopt a positive attitude. For many spiritual people, sexuality has been the source of shame, confusion and other negative feelings, and this often hinders their spiritual growth. Instead, use sexuality to enhance your spiritual growth by learning how to take command over the energy flow through your chakras. When you have mastered these energies, you should be able to appreciate the beauty of the human body without feeling sexual desire. In other words, sexuality no longer runs your life; your spiritual quest does. You have decided that spiritual progress is far more important to you than sexual gratification. You have discovered that you are not a sexual being, but a spiritual being.

Question: Dear Jesus, The fall occurred during the incarnation of the 4th root race, which is the base of the spine chakra. It is apparent that this planet has a lot of difficulty with sex misuses. What is your advice in overcoming these misused energies. How does anyone overcome their addiction to sex especially when it is so prevalent in all levels of society.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I have already commented on this issue in the answer to several other questions in this section, and my comments are relevant to this answer. I also recommend that you consider my answer to a question about how to combat a lifelong addiction. However, I would like to take this opportunity to give a deeper teaching on the issue of sex. I realize that this issue has been a problem for many truly spiritual people, so let me give you some teachings that might help people get a deeper understanding.

As I explained elsewhere, your lifestream was first created by your spiritual parents. You were crated as an individualization of God, and your unique individuality is expressed and anchored in your spiritual self, or I AM Presence. At some point your lifestream decided that it wanted to experience the material universe from the inside and it wanted to help co-create this aspect of God’s creation. Your lifestream then created an extension of itself, which is the Conscious You.

The important point to understand in this context is that the Conscious You was never created to be alone. It was created as an extension of your spiritual self, and it was literally meant to be at planet orbiting the sun of your spiritual self. However, your Conscious You is endowed with a sense of individual existence, and the Conscious You has free will. Therefore, it is possible that the Conscious You can change its sense of identity so that it no longer sees itself as an extension of the I AM Presence. This is indeed what happened in the process that the Bible describes as the Fall of Man and which, as I explain throughout this website, was a fall into a lower state of consciousness.

To use the planetary metaphor, one might say that the planet of the Conscious You stopped spinning on its axis. You know that if the earth stopped spinning, one side of the planet would be in constant darkness. If you were living on that side of the planet, you might have no idea that there was a sun shining on the other side. This then is literally what has happened to most lifestreams on earth. They have forgotten the sun of the spiritual self.

However, this forgetfulness only exists at the surface level of consciousness. The Conscious You can never fully forget that it was created as an extension of the I AM Presence. Even though the Conscious You can build a separate sense of identity, it can never feel complete and whole in that sense of identity. The Conscious You can feel whole only when it is consciously connected to the I AM Presence. Therefore, even though a Conscious You has fallen into a lower state of consciousness, it still has a deep inner longing for wholeness, a deep inner sense that something is missing from it’s life.

When you understand this, you realize that the majority of the thoughts, feelings and actions in which people engage relate to the deep inner sense of aloneness or lack of wholeness that the Conscious You feels. If you look at my discourse on the different levels of spiritual development, you might say that the further people descend into the lower state of consciousness, the more lonely they feel. Yet because they cannot or will not recognize the spiritual side of life, they have no way to resolve this sense of aloneness. Instead, the only option is to cover over the sense of being alone and unwhole.

This then leads to all kinds of beliefs and behaviors that are directed at diverting their attention from the deep inner sense of emptiness. It also leads to a number of beliefs that are designed to make people feel that they don’t need to change their lives, that they are okay as they are or that there is no way out of the sense of emptiness. Such beliefs and behaviors can very quickly lead to various types of addictions to the things of this world, meaning everything from chemical substances to possessions, power and sex.

Incidentally, many of these addictions are encouraged by or even created by certain orthodox or fundamentalist beliefs. Such closed belief systems are designed to prevent people from recognizing and doing something about their inner sense of emptiness. They are designed to keep them trapped in the material world instead of transcending this world by reuniting with their spiritual selves.

Any type of belief system or behavior that leads people into an emotional or physical addiction is always supported and reinforced by the dark forces who seek to control people. That is why breaking an addiction is literally a battle for the survival, the spiritual survival, of your lifestream. What I am trying to explain here is that for people who have descended far into the

dualistic state of mind, such addictions are primarily the result of an unwillingness to face the need to reconnect the Conscious You to the I AM Presence. It is an attempt to push aside the need for true personal change and spiritual transformation.

As people rise to higher levels of awareness, they begin to recognize the spiritual side of life. They become more consciously aware of the fact that their lifestreams are not whole and that they need to become whole. As a result, they begin to realize that the things of this world will not make them feel whole. This will gradually help them overcome addictions to outer things, and they begin to focus most of their attention on the spiritual needs of the lifestream. They no longer feel a need to cover their sense of aloneness; they feel a need to truly resolve it. Yet at the beginning stages of this growth process, it is almost inevitable that the lifestream will reason that, because it feels unwhole, it must need something from outside itself in order to become whole. Therefore, the lifestream will throw itself into a search for that magical something that can make it feel whole.

One aspect of this search is the search for the perfect partner, including the perfect sexual partner. Many people experience brief glimpses of inner wholeness as a result of sexual union. This is a natural process, which if used correctly can actually serve to heal the lifestream of its sense of separation. Unfortunately, as I explain in another discourse, everything in this world is a two-edged sword. Therefore, what can serve as a tool for the lifestream’s liberation can also become a trap for the lifestream, and this is especially true of sex.

The problem occurs when spiritual seekers begin to believe that sexual union is necessary to experience wholeness. This can lead to an emotional attachment to sex, which can become a spiritual addiction. I realize this is a subtle distinction, but what I call an outer addiction is an activity that is designed to cover the lifestreams sense of not being whole. In other words, it numbs the lifestream. A spiritual addiction is something that makes the lifestream feel that its wholeness is dependent upon engaging in a certain activity. Incidentally, religious activities can become such a spiritual addiction, but since the topic is sex, I will not go into that here.

My point is that for many truly spiritual people, sex becomes a spiritual addiction. They literally begin to believe that the key to their inner wholeness is to find the perfect partner, and this leads many people into a lifelong search for the perfect spouse and the perfect sex. Most of these people are not addicted to sex as a physical addiction. They are not really addicted to sex in the traditional sense. However, they have a deep desire to feel whole and connected and they believe sex is the way – perhaps the only way – to fulfill this desire.

This is a subtle point that might require some contemplation. As a lifestream grows in spiritual awareness, it will become more aware that it is unwhole, and it will develop a stronger desire to overcome the sense of not being whole. If the lifestream does not fully understand that ultimate wholeness can be experienced only through union with the I AM Presence, then the lifestream might believe that the key to wholeness is to experience union with another part of life, meaning another person.

Obviously, sexual union is a powerful way to experience oneness with another person. Because the lifestream has such a strong desire for wholeness, the lifestream can develop a very strong desire for sexual union. Such people want to have as much sex as possible, often with more than one partner. Some people have such a strong desire for union with life that they want this union with any person who seems attractive to them. They believe that sex will bring them closer to wholeness. In other words, sex is not used to cover over the desire for wholeness or to divert the attention from this desire. Sex is now used as a tool for creating a sense of wholeness.

Now comes the real subtle point. At certain stages of the spiritual path, this can actually have a beneficial effect. If a lifestream engages in sex out of a true desire to attain a state of wholeness, sex can actually help the lifestream achieve healing. By engaging in sexual union, especially if it is done with true love and care for a partner, the lifestream can heal and overcome its sense of aloneness. It can also become far less centered in the dualistic state of identity that developed after the fall. This is the true potential of a successful marriage in which husband and wife attain the highest spiritual union.

However, as the lifestream rises on the spiritual path, there will come a point where it needs to transcend its use of and understanding of sex as a tool for union. As I said earlier, at the beginning stages of the spiritual path it is almost inevitable that the lifestream believes that in order to become whole, it needs something from outside itself. This is true in the sense that the lifestream can attain wholeness only through union with the I AM Presence. The subtle illusion that traps many truly spiritual people is that they believe that God or the spiritual self is somehow, somewhere outside of themselves. This one illusion is the most difficult illusion to overcome for any spiritual seeker.

Many lifestreams have made great progress on the spiritual path. Unfortunately, many of them reach a threshold from which it is extremely difficult to proceed. The only way to get beyond this threshold is to stop looking for something outside of yourself. You need to overcome any attachment to, any co-dependence upon, anything that you perceive as being outside of yourself. You need to realize that the only key to wholeness is found inside yourself.

As I said earlier, the Conscious You is created as an extension of the spiritual self. An extension of the spiritual self is not apart from, it is not separate from, the spiritual self. This is the problem that occurs in the world of form, because in this world you see different forms as being separate. Even the model I just gave you of the Conscious You being like a planet orbiting the sun promotes this sense of separation. One might therefore contemplate a different model, where the Conscious You is seen as a wave on the ocean of the spiritual self. In other words, the Conscious You is no more separated from the spiritual self than a wave is separated from the ocean.

The essential point here is that you cannot attain ultimate wholeness as long as you think that wholeness depends on anything outside of yourself. The key to wholeness is to stop seeing yourself as being separated from your source, meaning both your spiritual self and God. The sense of separation exists only in your mind, and therefore the only place to overcome that sense of separation is in your mind. You must overcome the illusion that you were ever separated from your spiritual self. You must come to realize that the key to making contact with your spiritual self, the key to attaining union with that spiritual self, is to direct your attention inside of yourself and to stop directing it outside yourself. You must stop looking for the philosopher’s stone, the magical wand that will suddenly make you feel one with God. The philosopher’s stone is not outside yourself; it is inside yourself—it is your Christ self.

So my point here is that for many truly spiritual people sexual union can eventually become a trap that prevents them from looking inside themselves because their attention is always directed towards a partner. Many spiritual people intuitively feel that there is a legitimate goal behind their desire for sexual union, and this makes it very difficult for them to overcome the desire for sex. They feel that they would lose something important by giving it up. This sets up an inner conflict that will make it virtually impossible to overcome any desire for sex.

Take note of an essential point. As long as you have an inner conflict about any aspect of the spiritual path, you cannot take the next step on the path. You will be stuck at that step until you resolve the conflict and achieve inner clarity and oneness of purpose. This can be achieved only by reaching for the single-eyed vision of the Christ mind. Remember my statement that if thine eye be single, thy whole body is full of light. A house divided against itself cannot move forward on the path.

To overcome this stalemate, you need to get to a point where you realize that giving up sex is not a loss because you get something more important and fulfilling in return. You need to do some inner searching and decide on your true priorities. How badly do you want the inner wholeness of the Conscious You? You need to decide that no matter how wonderful sex might feel, you desire something more. You desire something deeper, namely the sense of oneness with your spiritual self, which I can assure you is a far greater sense of ecstasy and fulfillment than anything you could experience during sex. You must decide to stop chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and instead direct your attention within.

This is what I attempted to explain in my saying to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all else shall be added unto you. The kingdom of God is the Christ consciousness and it can be attained only through union with your Christ self, which is the mediator between the Conscious You and your I AM Presence. Your Christ self is inside of you, and the key to retaining contact with that Christ self is to direct your attention within. When you do attain contact with your Christ self and the righteousness, meaning the right use of your free will and your attention, all else, meaning the sense of ultimate union with your spiritual self, will be added unto you. It is truly the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom of spiritual union. However, the key to the kingdom is inside yourself.

So my basic point for this long discourse is to show you that the ultimate way to overcome an addiction to sex is to take a two-pronged approach:

• Use all tools available to free yourself from the outer forces that seek to trap you in an addiction to sex, as described elsewhere.

• When you have made a sincere effort to rise above the downward pull of dark forces and the mass consciousness, recognize that your desire for sexual union springs from the Conscious You’s desire for wholeness. Recognize that this desire cannot be ultimately fulfilled through sexual union. Therefore, channel your attention into seeking union with your Christ self instead of union with another person.

My point is that the addiction to sex can spring from a true desire, namely the desire for inner wholeness, yet by seeking it through sex, you will guarantee that the goal can never be achieved. No human being – nothing from this world – can replace your spiritual self. There are many substitutes that will cover over your sense of unwholeness. Yet there is no substitute that will truly give you wholeness. Therefore, seek first the kingdom of God . . .

Question: Beloved Master and Brother, What are the consequences of sex practiced outside marriage?

As I explain elsewhere, marriage is a sacred vow that people make before God, and therefore it should be taken seriously. When you marry someone, you vow to be faithful to that person and to that person only—or at least that is what your vow should mean. If you have sex outside of marriage, you are obviously breaking that vow and therefore you are making karma in the process.

As explained in my other answer, most people do not have a clear understanding of the spiritual aspects of life. This includes an understanding of what actually happens on an energy level when you have sexual intercourse. As I explain throughout this website, everything you do is done with energy, so every aspect of life needs to be understood in terms of an exchange of energy. Everyone knows that when you have sex, there is a potential for transmitting certain diseases. However, there is an even greater potential for transmitting certain energies.

When people have sex, the energy fields of the two people become very tightly intermeshed. During an orgasm, light is released from the energy centers in your energy field, especially from the lower energy center, which is often called the base chakra. This feels pleasurable because the chakras are designed to transmit energy. The sense of pleasure often dulls the intuitive faculties, and this prevents people from realizing that the meshing of energy fields opens them to receiving energy from their partners or even from outside sources. The sense of pleasure can make you blind to the potential dangers or make you unwilling to acknowledge such dangers.

Everyone knows that if you have sex with only one partner, you are not as likely to get a sexually transmitted disease as when you have sex with multiple partners. This is parallel to what happens on an energy level. If you have sex with more than one partner, the risk of receiving impure energy increases. Obviously, if two people are faithful to each other, the risk of sexually transmitted disease is minimal, and the same is true for impure energies. In a faithful marriage, it is possible for the partners to build a wall of protective energy around themselves. This makes it possible for a married couple to have sex without being vulnerable to impure energies from outside sources.

However, if you break that vow, you are likely to bring impure energies into the marriage, and this will break down the protection of your marriage. It can also transfer such energies to your spouse. If your spouse believes you are faithful, he or she will not be on guard and will therefore subconsciously be open to receiving such energies. This will violate your spouse’s free will, and in doing so you make karma. Furthermore, your spouse will subconsciously sense that something is not right, and this can have many subtle ramifications in terms of breaking down the trust that is the basis for any successful relationship.

As I explain in my other answer, a marriage has the potential to produce a high spiritual union between husband and wife. Yet if you break the trust through an extramarital affair and the introduction of “foreign” energies, you destroy that potential. It simply isn’t possible to have the ultimate union with two partners, and therefore you are likely to have such union with none of them.

It is wise to recognize that you live in a world where there is much impure energy in the surroundings. You might envision that your energy field is like a sphere of light that protects you from impure energies. Yet if there is an opening in your field, the energies in your surroundings can flow into the field. Many activities can open your energy field, and one of them is having sex. It should be obvious that the meshing of energy fields during sex can potentially open you to receiving outside energies. The effect of this is in direct proportion to the attitude and feelings you have while having sex.

It is virtually impossible to have sex outside of marriage without having some – perhaps subconscious and unrecognized – impure feelings. You know you are breaking your marriage vow, and this will open your energy field to impure energies. This can be made worse if you have sex to satisfy a purely physical desire or because you have negative feelings toward your spouse and blame him or her for not meeting your needs. The simple fact is that sex outside of marriage will always make you vulnerable to impure energies. Virtually anyone realizes – at inner levels – that breaking your marriage vow is wrong. So to break the vow, you have to silence your Christ self, and this neutralizes the protection that your Christ self normally gives you.

Obviously, this makes you vulnerable to the manipulation of dark forces. Such forces seek to steal your positive energy, and they seek to insert negative energy into your energy field in order to manipulate you further. It is a simple fact that most people would not break their marriage vows unless they were being manipulated by dark forces.

As explained in my discourse on the levels of the universe, dark forces especially work on people’s emotional bodies. The emotions are very fluid, and therefore it is easy to manipulate the emotional body. Obviously, there is a deep connection between the emotional body and the desire for sex. I can assure you that the dark forces on this planet use many means to artificially stimulate the desire for sex. This is done openly and blatantly in many forms of advertising, but also from many other sources. The idea is to manipulate people into desiring sex and feeling that they never get enough sex. The dark forces first seek to manipulate people’s mental bodies with the belief that they are entitled to have sex and that having sex has no negative consequences. When people believe this, it is easy to direct sexual energies into their emotional bodies and create an insatiable desire for sex.

As I explain throughout this website, most people have descended into a lower state of consciousness in which everything seems relative. This has given rise to a set of dualistic desires that are different in nature from the true desires of the lifestream. In other words, a lifestream can have a legitimate desire to experience the activities of this world, including sex. However, the desires of the lifestream are finite and can therefore be satisfied fully. In other words, being married and having sex with one spouse can fully satisfy the lifestream’s desire for sex.

Obviously, this is not what the dark forces want to see happen. They don’t want you to be satisfied in your marriage because that would prevent them from manipulating you. So they want to induce into your emotional body the dualistic desires that can never be satisfied. These desires are literally like a bottomless pit that can never be filled. You might picture a dualistic desire as a maelstrom in your emotionally body that sucks everything into it. Yet no matter how much energy you put into the maelstrom, it will never be filled. In other words, once you allow such a dualistic desire for sex to build up in your energy field, you will never feel that your desire for sex is fully satisfied. No matter how much sex you have, you will always feel you need more. Many people have spent their lives and their life energy in a never-ending pursuit of the ultimate sexual experience.

This, of course, is exactly what the dark forces want because they can now continue to manipulate you and milk your energy. So what I am telling you is that you are constantly being bombarded with stimuli designed to create this maelstrom of sexual desires in your emotional body. You have heard the saying that sex sells, and sex is being skillfully and ruthlessly used by the advertising industry to sell various products. However, behind that outer manifestation is the more subtle reality of the dark forces using the insatiable desire for sex to manipulate people.

It is this insatiable desire for sex, an artificial desire that is created through manipulation, that makes many people feel like their sexual needs are not being met by their marriage partners. This then gives them a desire for sex outside of marriage. As I have tried to explain, if you give in to this desire, you will open yourself to the manipulation of dark forces, and they will simply keep milking you of your energies until you either have nothing left or decide that enough is enough.

What is the best protection against this form of exploitation? It is to make the firm decision that when you married your spouse, you made a sacred vow to remain faithful to him or her. If your decision is firm, it will be very difficult for dark forces to gain an inroad into your consciousness. This will establish a ring of spiritual protection around your marriage that will make it far more difficult for the dark forces to manipulate you and your spouse. Obviously, this will greatly increase the possibility of a happy marriage.

I am not saying that the decision to be faithful in itself would give you a total protection from dark forces, but it is a very important step in terms of establishing that protection. On top of that, you should use various techniques for spiritual protection, such as the ones given on the toolbox website. Mother Mary’s rosaries will also serve to protect your marriage. In the world of today, it is wise to assume that every aspect of your life is under attack by dark forces, including your marriage. Therefore, it is extremely prudent to call for the protection of yourself and your spouse and the sacred union of your marriage.

Obviously, having sex outside marriage will break any spiritual protection you invoke. Therefore, I strongly encourage people to remain faithful to their marriage vows. It would be unfortunate to destroy a marriage because of an artificial, dualistic desire for sex. Defend your right to have a sacred relationship with your spouse without being attacked by outside forces of temptation. Use spiritual means to avoid having your life ruled by sexual desires, as I explained elsewhere.

Question: Is it possible for a male spiritual being to send down part of itself who manifests in a female body? I was wondering about this as I repeatedly get the impression that my I AM self has a masculine energy.

I encourage you to ponder the fact that human sexuality is irrelevant in the spiritual world. So your I AM Presence cannot be labeled based on human sexuality. Some spiritual beings embody more of the expanding force of the Father and others more of the contracting force of the Mother. One might talk about an Alpha/Omega polarity to set it apart from human sexuality. So a spiritual being is much more androgynous than human beings. We do take on a male or female appearance to make it easier for people to relate to us, but we do not identify ourselves based on human sexuality.

Likewise, a soul or 4-fold vehicle cannot be labeled based on human sexuality. Depending on the choices made by the Conscious You over many lifetimes, you may have created a vehicle that has a more masculine or a more feminine energy. Yet even so, the vehicle is capable of embodying in both male and female bodies. However, if a soul vehicle has become unbalanced, say towards the feminine side, the Conscious You may choose to embody in a male body in order to swing back to balance. Yet in some cases this can cause the Conscious You to become confused about its sexuality after it descends into the body.

The reason you experience your I AM Presence as male is that it forms the other polarity of your soul vehicle, as the spiritual realm forms the other polarity to the material universe. In other words, the entire material universe is made from the Ma-ter light which is dominated by the contracting force. In the spiritual realm, the expanding force is stronger. Therefore, one might say that beyond the Alpha/Omega polarity of individual spiritual beings and souls, there is a larger polarity. The spiritual realm forms the Alpha polarity and the material realm forms the Omega polarity. Because your soul is in the material universe, it has more Omega force than your I AM Presence. Consequently, you experience your I AM Presence as more Alpha, which can easily seem masculine in a human sense.

Question: Since you are spiritual teacher, aren’t you suppose to experience the human condition. Love hate fear jealousy anger lust all these other things that make man. aren’t you suppose to have experienced whatever you talk about. Shouldn’t you have married to be able to counsel married people. to have known women sexually to know the joy and passion of. I’m one weird cookie, after sex I’m always sad and I’m a guy why aren’t i sexually driven like every other guy on the planet. i sense that sex for me will be meaningless until I’ve found the right one i guess. this is weird but you did say nothing was off for you. why are the teachings of god in opposition to nature of man. for example its pretty much natural for man to be unfaithful but its a big no no. a person is not to indulge itself love to pleasure oneself because the loss of ones essence.

And so what makes you think that I didn’t experience the human condition? Anyone open to reincarnation should realize that the embodiment in which I became known as Jesus Christ was not my first embodiment on planet earth.

I can assure you that in previous lifetimes I had experienced almost every aspect of the human condition. In fact, this is one of the reasons I was chosen to be the spiritual teacher for the Piscean age.

Even in my last embodiment, I was not born with a full awareness of my Christhood or my mission, as explained elsewhere. It is only the idolatry perpetuated by orthodox Christianity that makes so many people believe that I must have been this perfect human being and therefore different from themselves. One of the main goals of my mission was to demonstrate that a person who was born in humble circumstances, even a child born out of wedlock as Mother Mary recently revealed, could indeed rise to become the fullness of the Living Christ. I aimed to demonstrate this precisely by going through a period of experimentation and mistakes during my teenage years as most human beings do. Therefore, other people should take hope that they too can manifest Christhood.

Many people are not sexually driven because in past lives they have transcended the need to use sex for the mere gratification of the body and the senses. They are therefore longing for the deeper union that can be experienced only when you meet a lifestream with whom you can have a deeper spiritual relationship that is not driven by physical attraction. However, even this longing is a longing for the true spiritual union between your lifestream and your Christ self.

You might focus on attaining this spiritual union and see it as a potential way to attract the right outer partner. After all, the law of God states that the universe will mirror back to you what is in your consciousness. So to attract the right partner in life, you must attain the state of consciousness of the person you wish to attract. You must become in consciousness what you want to see manifest in your outer life.

The teachings of God, are not in opposition to your true nature, meaning the spiritual being that you truly are. The teachings of God, whether they be related to sex or any other topic, are always in opposition to the dualistic mind. So as long as you are trapped by the dualistic mind, you will think that the teachings of God are in opposition to your nature because you identify yourself with the dualistic mind. Yet when you begin to overcome that false sense of identity, you will realize that the teachings of God are not in opposition to your true spiritual nature.

As explained elsewhere, you only have so much energy available. So you must decide whether to use it for sexual pleasure or spiritual growth.

Question: Can making love without orgasm help us learn to sublimate sexual energy?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

It can, but only if you do it for the specific purpose of sublimating sexual energy and learning to overcome any codependence upon or addiction to the physical aspects of sex.

As I explain elsewhere (Link 1, Link 2), there is nothing inherently sinful in the sexual union between a man and a woman who are in a committed relationship. However, the true spiritual purpose of this sexual union should be to create a stronger spiritual union and bond between the partners. What unfortunately happens to many couples is that this spiritual union becomes lost in an attempt to satisfy the sensual or physical aspect of sex.

As I explain throughout this website, humankind has fallen into a lower state of consciousness. People have become entrapped by the dualistic mind and to one aspect of the dualistic mind, the carnal or body mind, there is no such thing as enough. That is why physical sex can become an addiction that makes people feel like they never have enough sex.

If you want to attain maximum spiritual growth, you simply must break this physical and emotional addiction. Take note of what I am saying here, because there is a subtle but important distinction. I am not saying that you cannot attain maximum spiritual growth by being at committed couple having sexual union. I am saying that you cannot attain maximum spiritual growth if your sexual relationship is based on physical pleasure or a physical addiction.

A guideline could be how you feel after your sexual union. If you feel unfulfilled, then obviously something is missing and this should be a sign that you are too focused on the physical aspect of sex. The goal should be to feel completely fulfilled because you have attained a state of inner peace.

If practiced correctly, sexual union can be a preparation that makes it easier for a lifestream to experience union with something outside itself. The essence of the dualistic mind is that the lifestream feels separated from its spiritual source, and this sense of separation can make the lifestream feel separated from everyone else as well. As the lifestream begins to climb the path that leads back to union with its source, it naturally goes through several stages. As one of these stages, it can be very helpful for a lifestream to attain a true spiritual union with another human being. For most people this means a partner of the opposite sex, but it can also be a spiritual teacher, a family member or friend with whom there is no sexual relationship.

Such a close relationship lifts the lifestream out of its sense of isolation and also makes the lifestream less self-centered and selfish. Union with a partner of the opposite sex can be a preparation for union with the lifestream’s spiritual self, namely the mystical union that many mystics have described through the ages.

That is why spiritual teachings or religions have stressed the importance of a sanctified relationship between a man and a woman. When I say sanctified, I mean a relationship where both partners have made a commitment before God, a commitment to attain true spiritual union. Obviously, you can see that this is not the same as going in front of a priest and getting married in and outer sense. Many married couples have not made a secret pact with their God, they have not made a true spiritual commitment to each other.

However, when couples do make such a sacred commitment, they can make great spiritual progress through their relationship, including their sexual relationship. However, please do not misunderstand my remarks to mean that it is necessary to be in a relationship to make spiritual progress. It is quite possible to make spiritual progress by being single. The spiritual path is individual to each person. It is therefore important not to make outer judgments about how other people should follow their path. The important thing is that you develop inner attunement with your Christ self and then follow the path that will lead your lifestream home by the swiftest possible route.

Question: I have come across some channeled material that says sex was not the original sin and that people should have as much sex as you want. And while this sounds very enticing (especially to a guy) it just doesn’t vibrate right with me. Any thoughts on this?

It is correct that sex was not the original sin and that there is no reason to feel guilt about engaging in responsible forms of sexual behavior. However, it is not constructive to encourage people to have as much sex as they want because this will truly bind them to a never-ending spiral of attempting to satisfy the dualistic desires that can never be satisfied.

This easily becomes a downward spiral in which people’s sexual energies, which is the life force itself, is spent in a never-ending pursuit of sexual pleasure. As I explain elsewhere, it is a simple fact of life that you only receive a certain amount of energy from God. If you spend a majority of that energy on the pursuit of sexual pleasure, there will be nothing left to pursue true spiritual growth. So you must choose how you want to spend your energy, and as with everything else in life, you simply cannot have your cake and eat it too.

Giving people the impression that they can have as much sex as they want without negatively impacting their spiritual growth is simply an example of serpentine logic. It tells you what your ego wants to hear while giving you the impression that it has some ultimate spiritual authority. You know what they say: If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Question: Beloved Jesus, please recommend some technique for sublimation of sexual energy. For instance, to use sexual energy for opening of the heart. 

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Let me begin by saying that contrary to what so many churches, including many Christian churches, have said, there is nothing inherently wrong or sinful about the sexual union between a man and woman. If practiced with pure love, sexual activity is not a sin and will not misqualify God’s energy.

That being said, I must tell you that in the world of today it is difficult to keep the sexual relationship pure. This is because the advertising industry, heavily influenced and supported by certain dark forces, are constantly bombarding people with images, suggestions and even subtle energies designed to increase sexual desire. Furthermore, many people have developed, as a result of of this bombardment and certain other forms of social programming, the attitude that they are entitled to have unlimited amounts of sex.

Therefore, if you want to keep your sexual relationship pure, or if you do not have sexual relations, you need to defend yourself, you need to defend your energy field and your mental and emotional body, from the bombardment of sexual suggestions and energies.

This defense must begin with a decision. You must realize that you are being aggressively and maliciously bombarded with sexual suggestions and you must decide that you are not willing to submit to this programming. Therefore, you must decide to avoid such suggestions whenever possible.

It is also extremely important that you use the proper spiritual technique to defend your personal energy field (the energy field surrounding your physical body) by building a shield of high-frequency spiritual energy around it. We have given techniques for protection and another efficient technique is Archangel Michaels Rosary.

When I say that there is nothing inherently wrong about sex, I am in no way implying that people can have all the sex they want without paying the price. Life in the material universe is a matter of deciding how you use the always limited resources available to you. If you spend time on one activity, you cannot spend that same amount of time on another activity. If you spend time and energy on sex, you cannot spend that time and energy on activities aimed at producing spiritual progress.

One of the most important realizations you can come to about sex is that there are two kinds of sexual desire. The lower mind, also called the carnal mind or body mind, is as a computer that runs the physical body. One of the functions of this body computer is to insure the survival of the body, and this includes propagation. Therefore, the body mind is programmed to want sex all the time.

Many people give in to this desire and their entire lives revolve around sex. They are either having sex, working towards having sex or feeling like they should be having more sex. The bottom line is that the carnal mind’s desire for sex is an insatiable desire. No matter how much sex you have, it will never be enough for the carnal mind.

If you give in to this insatiable desire, you will open your personal energy field to the suggestions of the outside world. You will also make yourself vulnerable to certain lower forces that will seek to invade your energy field. I have described such entities in greater detail in the book The Christ Is Born in You. These forces also have an insatiable desire for sex, and they will seek to project that desire upon you. If you give in to this, your life will be consumed by an insatiable desire for sex.

When a lifestream first descends into the material universe, the lifestream has a desire to experience the many things you can do with a physical body, and this includes sex. There is nothing inherently wrong or sinful about this desire. However, it is essential to recognize that the lifestream’s desire for sex is a satiable desire. In other words, a lifestream can truly have enough sex and decide that it wants to spend its time and energy in pursuit of more spiritual goals.

It is normal that during the course of one lifetime, a lifestream gradually loses its desire for sex and begins to focus more on spiritual activities. There are also many lifestreams who have basically overcome their desire for sex in past embodiments and who are therefore ready to give it up on a permanent basis.

The most important thing you can do before you attempt to sublimate sexual energy is to decide where you stand on this matter. Once you have a firm inner decision of how you look at sexual activity and how you desire to practice or not practice it, you stand a much better chance of escaping the outside bombardment as well as the insatiable desire of the carnal mind.

One of the big mistakes made by so many religious people, especially many monks, nuns and priests of the Catholic Church, is that they never come to this decision. They simply decide with their outer minds that because the church says sex is sinful, they must attempt to repress all sexual urges. This will be an uphill battle for most people, and for some people it will be a losing battle. This is clearly demonstrated in the sexual abuse by Catholic priests.

So what I am saying here is that before you even attempt to use a technique to sublimate sexual energy, you should make an effort to come to an inner clarity about your attitude toward sex. To build this inner clarity, use the technique for inner attunement that I have given on the toolbox website. Strive to make contact with your Christ self and with me. Do not fear to approach me or to ask me questions about sex. Contrary to what so many Christians seem to believe, I have a perfectly natural and relaxed attitude to sex. There are no taboo topics for me. You can ask me any question, and I will answer. Your Holy Christ self, and I, will be more than happy to help you clarify and resolve your attitude towards sex.

Once you have inner clarity, apply the following technique for raising sexual energy to the level of the heart.

A technique
As stated in many places on this website, science has proven that everything is made of energy. Your energy field has certain centers, often called chakras. When you express mental or emotional energy, you express it through these energy centers. One of the energy centers is located at the base of your spine at the same height as the genitals. In esoteric teachings, this is often called the base chakra.

When you are exposed to suggestive energies from the outside, this energy often enters your base chakra and pollutes it. The desires of your carnal mind can also pollute your base chakra. This can cause the base chakra to be discolored, and for many people this chakra radiates red or orange light. If the base chakra is pure, it radiates pure white light.

When you feel a physical stimulation, that stimulation begins in your base chakra. The chakra begins to spin and to radiate misqualified sexual energy which then arouses your physical organs. In other words, physical arousal always begins with energy in the base chakra. If you want to sublimate the spiritual energy, you must cause the energy to rise from the level of the base chakra to the energy center in the middle of your chest, often called the heart chakra.

Visualization:

As soon as you feel any kind of sexual stimulation, make an immediate decision to stop the energy from flowing into your sexual organs.

Focus your attention on your base chakra and visualize that it begins to spin more quickly so that it throws off all imperfect energy and begins to radiate pure white light. To help with this visualization, you might visualize myself or Mother Mary, over your base chakra. Certain ascended masters are associated with certain types of spiritual light, and Mother Mary is working with the white light, also called the Mother Light, of the base chakra. Therefore, she is more than willing to help you sublimate sexual energy.

When you feel that your base chakra is radiating white light, visualize that the white light rises up to the heart chakra and is expressed through that chakra as the pink light of love. You might visualize your heart chakra as a pink rose with 12 petals. The rose spins and radiates a beautiful, soft pink light.

Focus your attention on a spiritual being, be it God, Mother Mary, myself or another spiritual being of your choice, and send this intense love towards the spiritual being.

Visualize that you make contact with the spiritual master and establish a figure-eight flow between yourself and the master. You are raising the energy from your base chakra to the level of your heart and sending that energy to the spiritual master. The master is then sending the energy back to your heart chakra where it connects in a figure-eight flow to your base chakra.

Visualize this figure-eight flow between yourself and the Master until you feel that all impure energies have been purified.

Once you begin to practice this technique regularly, it will become almost automatic. You can do it anywhere in a few seconds, and you will be amazed at the results. However, no spiritual technique works against your free will. Therefore, you must begin by clarifying your attitude towards sex and by making a firm inner decision about your relationship to sex. This is a decision that only you can make.

Question from Kim: Jesus, there has been a lot of attention on homosexuality lately, including the possibility that some states in the U.S. will recognize gay marriages, the possibility that the Episcopal church might elect a gay bishop and the overturning by the Supreme Court of the Texas anti-sodomy law. Recently, a person asked whether his soul could have been created by God as a homosexual soul. Some prominent homosexuals have made the claim that God created them as homosexuals. What is your comment on that?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I welcome the opportunity to comment on a topic that has caused much confusion and much division amongst people. The division and hostility is unnecessary, but it can be alleviated only through proper understanding. I can tell you with absolute certainty that God never created a soul as a homosexual soul. The reason being that God does not create souls.

In order to understand this, people need to study my teachings on the relationship between the I AM Presence, the Conscious You and the 4-fold vehicle or soul vehicle.  When you understand these teachings, you see that the I AM Presence is neither exclusively male nor female but has both qualities. Likewise, the Conscious You is neither male nor female, because it is pure awareness, meaning it has no differentiations—it is created to be an open door, a clear pane of glass, for the I AM Presence.

Thus, the entire issue of human sexuality exists at the level of the 4-fold or soul vehicle. And as I explain, this vehicle was not created by God; it was created by the Conscious You as a vehicle for expressing itself through a physical body. Furthermore, the soul vehicle was for most people created as a result of their choice to enter into the consciousness of seeing themselves as separate beings. As I explain throughout this website, you can see yourself as a separate being only by stepping through the veil of duality—meaning you now see everything in terms of two dualistic polarities or opposites.

Now, this is where you need to be alert and make a subtle distinction. We have explained that in order to create a world of differentiated forms, the undivided Creator started by expressing itself as two differentiated polarities. We have called these the expanding and contracting forces, but in order to make it easier for people to grasp the concept, we have also called them masculine and feminine. You need to be aware that words on earth are not always suited for fully describing such spiritual concepts. My point being that you cannot uncritically transfer human concepts of sexuality to the basic polarities of God. God the Father and God the Mother are naturally beyond human sexuality.

You also need to be aware that the transference of human qualities upon God is the very essence of the duality consciousness and the ego. The ego uses the duality consciousness to build a mental image of the world, and then it projects it upon everything. The ego seeks ultimate validation for its mental images, and it does so by projecting those images upon God, saying that God actually created the image or that the image is not an image but represents God’s reality. This is, as we explain throughout our websites, the very basis for most religions and for all religious conflict.

So there are indeed two divine polarities, but the ego and the duality consciousness can never see them in their pure forms. What the duality consciousness has done is to pervert these two qualities, so that instead of complementing each other, they now appear to oppose or exclude each other. And then the ego has projected these dualistic perversions upon the original—thinking this truly is the way God is.

The point is that there are indeed divine polarities, but that these are above and beyond human sexuality. This means that you cannot fully understand human sexuality unless you understand the fall into the duality consciousness, and how this has had a very profound impact on every aspect of life on earth.

As we have explained, the earth was originally created by the Elohim in a much higher or purer state than what you see today. Matter itself was not as dense, meaning that what you today call physical bodies were not as dense. The concept of the Garden of Eden is a symbol for a state in which lifestreams could provide for all their needs through the powers of the mind.

In this original state, bodies did not have sexual organs. The original bodies were made from energies of a higher vibration than your physical bodies, but they were still made from energy and they had substance. Yet at that time, there was no need to create new bodies at the same level of vibration. “Matter” or substance was not very dense, and thus new bodies could be created through mental powers alone. Lifestreams in Eden still had a differentiation into male and female qualities, but this was beyond physical sexuality.

After the fall into duality, matter literally densified. At the same time, the lifestreams who entered duality lost the mental powers that made it possible to provide for their needs through the mind alone. This is what is crudely illustrated in the story of how Adam and Eve were cast out of Paradise, and instead of having fruits for the taking, they now had to provide for their sustenance by “the sweat of the brow.”

Now, this entire process is quite complex, so in order to avoid going too far off topic, let me simply say that it was only after the fall into duality that lifestreams had to take on the dense bodies that you today call physical bodies. These bodies had sexual organs, because they were the result of the evolutionary process, as Maitreya explains in his book. In other words, due to the fall in consciousness, physical bodies can only be created at the level of the physical octave, and thus physical propagation is necessary.

This shift had a profound impact on the situation faced by the Conscious You, as it had to create a soul vehicle for integrating with these dense physical bodies. Before the fall, there was no need to create a soul vehicle based on a differentiation between male and female sex. Yet after the fall, the differentiation into male and female bodies became one of the defining qualities of physical bodies.

As I have explained, you have four levels of the mind, four lower bodies.  The highest is the identity body, which is where you define your basic sense of who you are in the material world. Thus, after the fall, the differentiation into male and female sex had to begin already at the identity level. The effect of this was that when a lifestream first descended into physical embodiment, it would begin by identifying itself as one sex. For example, a lifestream might have many lifetimes in which it was only in male bodies. Meaning that for relatively new lifestreams, human sexuality was such an integral part of their identity, that they would often come to identify themselves as male or female souls.

Take note of an important insight. The differentiation into male and female bodies is meant as a subtle clue to those in the duality consciousness. As I said, the duality consciousness has perverted the original divine polarities, making them unbalanced. This perversion is outpictured in bodies with male and female sexual organs, and the fact that new life can be created only when a male and female body come together. The hidden message is that when you enter the duality consciousness, you become an incomplete being. While in duality, you can never be whole, and that is why people always feel alone and incomplete. The fact that you have to come together with a body of the opposite sex in order to create new life is a symbol that shows you have to find a divine balance between male and female qualities in order to have wholeness and create the new life of the Christ consciousness. You need to bring together what you now see as opposites and resolve the conflict between them. As long as you are unbalanced, you cannot transcend the physical level, where you have to work at the sweat of the brow.

The purpose of life is the growth in consciousness, which leads to successively higher levels of Christ consciousness, until you eventually ascend permanently from earth. One aspect of this growth process is that you must transcend the human sense of identity, including, of course, human sexuality. I know that we have generally presented ourselves as male or female ascended masters, and we do indeed choose to manifest predominantly male or female characteristics. Yet our qualities are beyond human sexuality, which means you must transcend human, dualistic sexuality in order to ascend.

In other words, you may be in a male body in the last lifetime before you ascend, but you will not ascend if you see yourself as a male soul. You will ascend only by attaining perfect balance between the divine masculine and feminine qualities, so that you are not identified with one over the other. So what will it take for you to attain this balance? Well, it will take that you transcend the human, dualistic concepts of male and female.

As a lifestream matures, it will have to work on overcoming its original identification with one sex. Which means that a maturing lifestream will go through a period where it alternates between male and female bodies. Some lifetimes change sex for every embodiment, while others have three embodiments as one sex before they switch to the other. Yet, you see the point, right? The purpose is to help you overcome your identification with human sexuality, so you do not define yourself based on male or female. In fact, you no longer define yourself based on sexuality, but see yourself as a spiritual being who is beyond human sexuality—although still expressing yourself through a male or female body.

Now, for some lifestreams, it is relatively easy to transcend sexuality, while for others this is much harder. In fact, for some it is the last thing they will transcend before they are ready to ascend. This means that it now becomes possible – as an example – for some lifestreams to have taken on a male body while not having let go of their identification as female souls. In other words, such people are in a male body, but they still have a sexual attraction to the male body from past lives. This can now lead to various issues that people have with their sexuality, from bisexuality, to transsexuality to homosexuality.

What complicates the issue is the entire debate around homosexuality, because for a long time religious people have defined homosexuality as a sin. This has caused some lifestreams to seek to defend their homosexuality, partly because they realize they were born with this propensity and partly out of a prideful unwillingness to let go of the condition. Yet my point here is that in order to grow spiritually and ascend, you have to transcend ALL human sexuality. So whether you are homosexual or heterosexual, you still have to leave behind the tendency to identify your lifestream based on the sex of the physical body. And as long as you seek to defend your sexuality in a dualistic battle against other people (who are also stuck in duality) you simply cannot leave it behind.

You cannot transcend what you seek to defend. You can transcend in only one way: by letting go of all identification with a condition.

Kim: That is a very profound explanation, which explains the confusion I see in many Christians. Since they think the soul was created by God, they cannot understand that if God did not create homosexuals, how does a person become a homosexual? It also explains why many people believe you can be born as a homosexual.

Jesus: The confusion is caused by the fact that the orthodox Christian church, 1500 years ago, decided to ban as heresy the concept of the preexistence of souls. Therefore, for over 1500 years, western culture has been dominated by a belief system, a paradigm, which does not include reincarnation. As I explain in several places on this website, this was an incorrect and political decision that has caused much confusion in the western world. The simple fact is that if you do not accept that the soul has existed long before its current embodiment, there are numerous questions for which you cannot find meaningful answers. Homosexuality is only one of these many questions.

There is a common and widespread misconception about homosexuality, and indeed about many other human conditions, namely that people are somehow victims of this. So many people believe that a particular condition is the result of factors beyond their control. It was something that was forced upon them from without, and now their only option is to live with it.

This is a fallacy. This is a lie. This is one of the most dangerous lies found on planet earth. The lie is that human beings are victims of forces beyond their control instead of authors of their own destiny.

One of the main points I am trying to get across on this website is that human beings have created the current conditions by their own choosing. Because God respects the Law of Free Will, God will not simply change the current misery found on planet earth. This misery can only be removed when people consciously and willfully begin to make better choices than they have made in the past.

Obviously, most people are not aware of the choices they made in the past, and therefore they do not see that they have created their current situations. I feel great compassion for people, and I understand why people feel like victims. Nevertheless the purpose of this website – as any true spiritual teaching – is to help people come up higher in consciousness. It is a brutal fact that you cannot grow spiritually as long as you see yourself as a victim.

You can only grow by recognizing that you do have the power to change your situation. Yet that recognition can only come when you accept that your situation is the result of the Conscious You’s past choices. Only by accepting this, do you become empowered to change your situation. You can do so by making better choices. The key to making better choices is to resolve the false beliefs and psychological wounds that caused you to make limiting choices in the past.

Kim: So are you saying that if people do not accept reincarnation, they cannot explain the cause of homosexuality? 

Jesus: Homosexuality is caused by a choice made by the Conscious You. This choice was not made in the womb or even in this lifetime. The choice was made a very long time ago, and for most lifestreams the choice was made shortly after the lifestream realized that it had fallen into a lower state of consciousness.

The fall into a lower state of consciousness is always a gradual process. It happens so gradually that most lifestreams are not aware of what is taking place. In fact, some lifestreams have not yet come to the realization that they have fallen into a lower state of consciousness. However, many lifestreams do experience a moment of truth in which they realize that they have lost something which they formerly had. They have a “hitting the concrete experience” in which the lifestream realizes that it has fallen from grace. The question now becomes how the lifestream responds to this experience.

When a lifestream realizes that it has fallen, it can react in a variety of ways. Some lifestreams choose to take responsibility for their situation, and they begin the spiritual path that leads them back to a higher state of consciousness in which they have conscious contact with the I AM Presence. This is the spiritual path that I am describing throughout this website.

Some lifestreams refuse to take responsibility for their situation. This leads some lifestreams to react in one of two ways that can both lead to homosexuality. Some lifestreams blame the feminine aspect of their nature for the fact that they have fallen. One of the qualities of the feminine aspect is that it makes it possible for you to adapt to different circumstances. Yet if you adapt too much, you can compromise your divine individuality, and this was precisely what caused many lifestreams to fall into duality. This then develops into a hatred of the feminine aspect of God, a hatred of the mother. This is often outpictured as a hatred of women or milder forms of negative feelings towards women.

This hatred of the feminine aspect of the lifestream’s nature leads to a split in the soul vehicle The soul cannot be whole and balanced without having a proper polarity between the masculine and feminine elements of its nature.

Some lifestreams develop a disgust for the feminine sex, and they often choose to embody as homosexual men. Other lifestream develop a desire to punish or subdue the feminine sex, and they often embody as heterosexual men who become sexual predators or male chauvinists. In extreme cases this leads men to become rapists or even serial killers. In less extreme cases it can cause men to become sexual predators who use women as a form of slaves. This is not done primarily for the immediate sexual pleasure but as an act of punishment against women. Throughout the ages, this has caused immense abuse of women.

Some lifestreams realize that it was the feminine aspect of their nature that fell, but they blame their masculine nature. They feel that the masculine aspect should have prevented the feminine aspect from following the ways of the world. These lifestreams develop a hatred against the father or masculine aspect of God. These lifestreams are driven by a desire to punish the male aspect, which often manifests as a desire to punish men or to make men accept blame.

Some of these lifestreams choose to embody in a female body and become lesbians. They outpicture their hatred against men by having sexual relations with women. Yet other lifestreams choose to embody as heterosexual women and they spend their lives seeking to punish or control men. In so doing, they often use their sexuality or psychological means in an attempt to make men feel inferior or to make men feel that it is all their fault. Throughout history, this has caused much hostility between the sexes and much abuse, primarily psychological abuse, of men.

Please take note that many lifestreams have been on planet earth for a very long period of time. Therefore, some lifestreams have developed a very complex psychology in which the original response to the lifestream’s fall has been covered over by many layers of beliefs and psychological wounds. Therefore, there can be other factors contributing to a person seeing itself as a homosexual. As I explained above, the most common of these factors is confusion concerning the lifestream’s sexual identity due to the identification solidified in previous lifetimes.

What I am saying here is that the cause of homosexuality is more complex than what can be described without writing an entire book about it. My main goal here is to point out that the process whereby a lifestream begins to see itself as homosexual began a very long time ago with the lifestream’s original reaction to the fall into a lower state of consciousness.

Kim: It sounds to me like homosexuality is not created by God, and therefore it is not a natural thing. What do you think about the many orthodox Christians who label it as a sin, as an abomination, and who attempt to make homosexuals feel guilty about it?

Jesus: One of the saddest developments that has happened over the past 2,000 years is that so many orthodox Christian churches have forgotten and departed from one of the most central themes of my spiritual teaching, namely that of unconditional love. Did I not tell all Christians to love their neighbors as themselves? Did I not admonish them to “judge not?” Then why do so many Christians judge their brothers and sisters for what they perceive to be a sin that is worse than others sins?

As I have explained throughout this website, the early Catholic Church departed from my original intent and teachings. Many things were taken out of my original teachings for political reasons. Because of this, the Church could no longer explain many of the questions people have about the spiritual side of life. The orthodox, so-called infallible, doctrines simply did not have many of the answers that people were seeking. Therefore, the Church departed from my original vision of being a church that would provide people with true and valid answers. Instead, the Church only gave people doctrines and then attempted to scare people away from asking questions that could not be explained by official doctrines.

This gradually led to the development of a church culture based on fear and guilt. Obviously, this has numerous negative effects. In this context the consequence is that Christian churches have no effective way to help homosexuals. Instead, they can only label homosexuality as a serious or mortal sin and attempt to make people abandon the outer behavior of homosexuality through feelings of fear and guilt. Obviously, an attempt to suppress homosexual tendencies does nothing to help people resolve the inner imbalance that causes homosexuality.

As stated above, the main issue with homosexuality is that the lifestream does not have the correct balance, the correct polarity, between its male and female aspects. Thus, it identifies itself based on the sex of the physical body. It is true that homosexuality is an abnormal condition that was not created by God. Therefore, it is in the lifestream’s best interest to heal this condition. Yet true healing can only take place through understanding. It can only take place when the lifestream begins to understand the process that led to its current state of consciousness and then makes a conscious decision to take responsibility for its own situation and make choices that will improve its situation.

Contrary to my original intent, most Christian churches fail to give people a higher understanding of the spiritual side of life. Therefore, these churches cannot help people achieve healing, whether for homosexuality or one of the many other imbalances that afflict people—including unbalanced heterosexuality. Instead, the Christian churches serve up a mixture of fear and guilt, which causes people to suppress their psychological imbalances or even deny their existence.

Let me make it clear, as I have done throughout this website, that the only path to salvation is that the lifestream must attain a higher state of consciousness, namely the Christ consciousness. To attain this state of consciousness, the lifestream must overcome its psychological wounds and the false beliefs that caused those wounds in the first place. This can only be done through a conscious understanding which then leads the lifestream to make better choices than it made in the past. This conscious understanding, this conscious healing process, has no chance of taking place as long as the lifestream is ignoring or denying its imbalances.

Millions of Christians have led themselves to believe that they will automatically earn their salvation by being a member of a particular outer church, by believing its outer doctrines and by following its outer practices. This is a fallacy. As I explain in many places on this website, there simply is no automatic salvation.

It is a sad fact that millions of Christians have the same imbalances between the male and female aspects of their lifestreams as many who are openly homosexual. Many of these Christians have simply suppressed the imbalances or gone into a state of denial about them. I see so many Christian men who vehemently condemn homosexuality, yet have not recognized their own hatred of women, that causes them to suppress or even abuse their own wives. These people feel that because they lead an outwardly Christian life, they are not sinning. Yet the truth is that they have the same imbalance as many of the people they condemn.

I see many Christian women who openly condemn homosexuality yet have the same imbalance, causing them to manipulate their own husbands through guilt or the withholding of sexual favors. It is truly an example of how people cannot see the beam in their own eyes.

Kim: What about the other side of the debate, such as the gay-rights movement and other people who work to get society to recognize homosexuality as normal or legal?

Jesus: I have attempted to explain, through a higher understanding and without using fear or guilt, that homosexuality is not created by God. Therefore, homosexuality is not natural, and it would be unfortunate for a society if homosexuality became normal or came to be seen as normal.

The simple fact, a fact that will not be changed by any amount of human reasoning and logic, is that it is in the lifestream’s best interest to heal the imbalance that causes homosexuality (and any other imbalance).

Seeking to get homosexuality recognized as a normal or natural lifestyle will not help lifestreams heal. It will only cause them to become more entrenched in a particular lifestyle and thereby move backwards on the spiritual path. I am a spiritual teacher, and I do not approve of any measure which hinders people’s spiritual growth.

Kim: What about the claim made by some Christians that homosexuality is a sin that will be punished by God?

Jesus: If you look at the Old Testament, you will see that there are several examples of groups of people who lost the clear understanding and clear recognition of the Laws of God. In many cases God sent such people a prophet who would attempt to awaken them to the folly of their ways. Because of the state of consciousness that people had during Old Testament times, the prophet often stated that if people did not change their ways, God would punish them.

As I explained elsewhere, there is a progression in the spiritual life of this planet. Therefore, people in today’s age should have developed a more rational understanding of the spiritual and material laws that God used to create the universe. If people had developed this understanding, they would realize that God does not punish human beings. People punish themselves by violating the Laws of God. People violate these laws because they have descended into a dualistic state of consciousness in which they have no clear recognition of the Laws of God. They do not see that it is in their own best interest, it is enlightened self-interest, to follow these laws.

Because people have descended into the dualistic state of consciousness, they think that everything can be defined in relative terms. People lose contact with the Laws of God and they begin to think that they can get away with violating those laws. As people sink deeper into that state of consciousness, they often begin to develop a paradigm which is in opposition to God’s laws. They often begin to feel that their paradigm is justified. The extreme outcome of this is that people will attempt to make society officially recognize a paradigm that is not in harmony with the Laws of God.

Please take note that this can happen to any group. For example, one of the Laws of God is the law of love. As explained above, many Christians have forgotten and departed from that law, and therefore they have developed a culture based on fear, guilt and judgment of others. On the other side of the coin, you find people who have an understanding of the law of love, yet do not have a clear understanding of certain other laws. These people therefore begin to believe that you need to tolerate almost any behavior in the name of love.

My point here is that homosexuality is not natural and therefore it is not in harmony with the Laws of God. Obviously, a society can depart from the Laws of God to such an extent that it enacts civil laws that are in direct violation of the Laws of God. This has indeed happened to many societies in the past, yet I must tell you that all of those societies have self-destructed. You cannot create a stable and long-lasting society unless that society is in harmony with the Laws of God. If you attempt to do so, you will inevitably experience a rude awakening and your society will begin to self-destruct, either from within or as the result of an attack by an outer enemy. This is indeed the reason many societies, such as the Roman Empire, collapsed under their own weight of the misuse of God’s laws and God’s Energy.

Yet take note that the most basic law of God is free will. All lifestreams are on the path back to God. They walk this path by exercising their free will, and for some this has led them to identify themselves as homosexuals. As I have explained, this is an unbalanced condition, but most other human beings are also in an unbalanced condition. Thus, I would not define homosexuality as a sin, let alone a mortal sin, in the way most Christians do.

Again, all human beings have a right to go through the steps they need in order to transcend a certain state of consciousness. If a lifestream needs to see itself as homosexual for one or several lifetimes, then that is no better or no worse than so many other human imbalances. The ego always defines those who are different from itself as bad, and until people see through and transcend this tendency, they cannot manifest Christhood. That is why I told people not to judge after appearances. Homosexuality is simply an appearance, which the Conscious You has chosen to take on, and most lifestreams will eventually chose to take it off.

Kim: So it seems to me that you are saying that none of the two sides have the full truth about the issue?

Jesus: As I explained in my teaching on the separation of church and state, almost any debate becomes polarized towards two extremes. In many cases these extremes are defined by forces that seek to manipulate society. Yet many truly good people become caught in the trap of one of these extremes, and it is important to understand why.

I would like to make it clear that I do not condemn or judge any human being regardless of their outer behavior or their beliefs. Therefore, I do not condemn or judge the people involved with this debate, no matter what side they are on. However, I also clearly see that both sides of the debate are taking an unbalanced approach to the issue. This has come about because so many people do not have the correct balance between the three basic qualities of God, namely power, wisdom and love.

I have talked about the many Christians who have departed from the law of love. What has happened to many of these people is that they have developed an understanding of and devotion to the power of God. Therefore, they have a devotion to the Laws of God, and they want society to conform to those laws, as they see them through their current Christian doctrine. Unfortunately, these people do not realize that their current doctrine is incomplete and in many ways out of harmony with the Laws of God, most notably with the love of God. These Christians clearly see that homosexuality is a violation of the Laws of God. This viewpoint is correct, but because these people lack devotion to the love of God, they turn this into a judgmental attitude towards those who openly acknowledge their homosexual tendencies.

On the other side of the issue you find many good people who have developed a deeper understanding of and devotion for the love of God. These people truly understand the need to love your neighbor as yourself. Yet because they do not have sufficient understanding of the power aspect of God, they have fallen into the trap of thinking that unconditional love means indiscriminate acceptance of any behavior. They think that you must tolerate people even if they are clearly violating the Laws of God.

The only thing that could potentially bring the debate out of the extremes and back into balance is that more people develop a devotion to the wisdom aspect of God. It is through this aspect that people can develop an understanding which allows them to stay out of the two extremes. That is why the statement “With all thy getting, get understanding” is so important.

A balanced approach to this issue is to recognize that homosexuality is unnatural. It is a condition caused by an imbalance in the lifestream. No lifestream can achieve ultimate happiness and spiritual fulfillment by maintaining this imbalance. Therefore, a lifestream who is sincerely striving for spiritual growth should recognize the need to heal the imbalance between the lifestream’s masculine and feminine aspects. Once you recognize and accept this, you will also recognize that many lifestreams have this imbalance, not only those who are openly homosexual. In fact many lifestreams have no homosexual tendencies but still have an imbalance between the masculine and feminine aspects.

When you develop this understanding, you realize that it is not correct to create a society which openly recognizes or legalizes homosexuality. Yet you also realize that it is not correct to have a society in which people are judged, condemned or discriminated against because of their sexual orientation. In other words, the ideal is a society that does not legalize homosexuality yet does not discriminate against homosexuals.

I am fully aware that it can seem difficult to achieve such a society. Yet this is difficult only because so many people are still trapped in the relativity of the dualsitic state of consciousness. Therefore, as a spiritual teacher, I must point out to you that the only true solution to the problems currently faced by humankind is to develop a deeper understanding of the spiritual side of life and of the spiritual nature of every human being. This higher understanding is the only hope for creating a better age and for preventing humankind from destroying itself.

Kim: I understand your concern for the many people who are caught in either extreme. Yet it seems to me that there is more to the debate than simply a lack of understanding. It seems like some people on both sides are unwilling to gain a higher understanding.

Jesus: That is correct. There are indeed people who are unwilling to change their viewpoints and their ways. Certain religious people are unwilling to change their desire to judge everyone according to their self-defined standard. These people are completely convinced that their standard is God’s standard, and therefore it is completely justified that they judge people according to that standard. These are the very people who crucified me 2,000 years ago. These are the lawyers that would not enter into the middle way of the Christ consciousness and wanted to prevent everyone else from entering.

I can tell you that there are certain lifestreams who held positions of power in the Jewish religion 2,000 years ago and used their power to crucify me. Some of these same lifestreams today hold positions of power in Christian churches, and they are now using their interpretation of my teachings as a justification for their judgmental attitude.

On the other side of the issue you find people who are clearly aware that homosexuality is a violation of God’s law. Yet they have absolutely no desire to change their ways or to come to a higher understanding. On the contrary, they practice homosexuality as a conscious act of defiance against God. They want to keep practicing their homosexuality. They want to recruit other people to be fodder for their sexual predation. And they want society to acknowledge that they have a right to openly practice and demonstrate their sexual perversion.

I am clearly aware that these people exist. I am clearly aware of their psychology and their modus operandi. I am also aware that there is little chance of reaching such people through this website. Therefore, my foremost concern with this website is to reach those lifestreams who are reachable; those who are willing to look for a higher understanding.

Kim: How does the Law of Free Will relate to this? I mean, does a soul have a God-given right to choose to practice homosexuality?

Jesus: As stated throughout this website, the Law of Free Will is the ultimate law for the material universe. God has given people free will, and therefore they have a right to do whatever they want, as long as they do not violate the free will of other people.

You can only have free will if you can make absolutely any choice of which you can conceive. Yet the Law of Free Will does not stand alone. The Law of Free Will is created in a polarity with another law, namely the Law of Cause and Effect. This is the law that the Bible refers to in the saying that as a man soweth, so shall he reap. This is the law that eastern religions call the law of karma.

According to the Law of Free Will, a human being can do anything he or she wants. According to the Law of Cause and Effect, no human being can escape the consequences of his or her actions. As I have attempted to explain throughout this website, everything you do is done with God’s energy. When you engage in thoughts, feelings or actions, you are qualifying God’s pure energy; you are changing the vibration of that energy.

In the book, Save Yourself, I give a deeper teaching about the true meaning of sin. I encourage people to study that teaching. Let me here briefly explain that the original meaning of the word sin is “missing the mark.” This refers to the fact that if you qualify God’s energy below a certain level of vibration, the energy misses the mark and cannot ascend back to God. Any energy which falls below the critical level of vibration is a sin, whether that energy was created through homosexuality or any other type of human behavior.

So a lifestream does have a God-given right to practice homosexuality. Yet that lifestream will inevitably misqualify God’s energy, and the lifestream will reap the consequences, the karma, of its actions. Please take note that I am not hereby saying that homosexuality is right or acceptable. It is a violation of God’s law, yet because of free will a lifestream has a right to violate God’s law and experience the consequences of its choices.

Kim: Should society recognize people’s right to practice homosexuality?

Jesus: This is a complex question. In an ideal society, it would be recognized that homosexuality is an unbalanced condition. Yet such a society would have a culture in which people could openly acknowledge their homosexual tendencies without being condemned. Instead, such people would be offered help to come to an understanding and resolution of these tendencies so they could move forward on their personal path toward spiritual growth. They would also receive help to understand the consequences, in terms of karma and the psychological and spiritual effects, of choosing homosexuality. If they refuse such help, they would be allowed to practice homosexuality in the privacy of their homes, as long as they do not violate the free will of others.

An ideal society would not legally acknowledge a person’s right to practice homosexuality. This would simply be something that was done in the privacy of people’s homes, and society would not step into that privacy (as long as it took place among consenting adults). As long as the practice was kept in the privacy of people’s homes, society would let people do this without legally recognizing or condemning the practice.

Obviously, no country on earth currently has an ideal society. Therefore, there is no clear-cut answer to how a particular society, at a particular time, should deal with the issue of homosexuality. This will be determined by the culture of a particular society, because no society can see beyond its current culture.

My primary concern is not to define how a society should deal with homosexuality. My primary concern is to help any society attain a more spiritual culture, which then makes is easier for that society to deal with any problem in a way that is in harmony with God’s law. What I would like to see happen is that all societies move towards a deeper understanding of the spiritual side of life and that they allow this understanding to influence how they deal with any issue in society.

Kim: Can you explain how homosexuality misqualifies energy?

Jesus: God has created the two basic polarities, namely the expanding and contracting, the masculine and feminine, the yang and the yin elements. Everything in the entire universe is created through a harmonious interaction, a harmonious union, of the masculine and feminine polarities of God. When the two come together in a harmonious union, new life is created.

Everything in this universe is an expression of these two aspects of God.
You will notice that when a masculine and feminine body come together in sexual union, new life can be created. However, if two bodies of the same sex attempt sexual union, they cannot create new life. What you see in the material universe is simply an outpicturing of a spiritual principle.

This ties in with the fact that all of your actions will qualify the energies of God. When a man and a woman come together in sexual union, it is possible that this union will qualify the energies of God in a pure, one might say Holy, manner. Therefore, the energies generated by the sexual union can ascend back to the spiritual realm. When this occurs, both sexual partners will have a deep experience of union, not only with each other but with something beyond their lifestreams. They can indeed experience a spiritual union with their higher selves.

However, I must caution that there is no guarantee that heterosexual sex will always produce a sense of union or qualify the energies in a pure manner. On the contrary, the vast majority of sexual intercourse falls below the critical mark and misqualifies the energies of God. This will inevitably occur if people engage in sex purely for the gratification of the body or the physical senses. If there is not a true and pure love and a pure desire for spiritual union, sexual intercourse is likely to misqualify energy.

When you have an interaction between two bodies of the same sex, you do not have a masculine and feminine polarity. Therefore, there is no possibility that the interaction can produce a true union between male and female aspects. I am aware that some homosexual couples feel that they have attained such union. I am aware that some homosexual partners have a pure love for each other. Yet I must tell you that homosexual sex can never produce a true spiritual union. Therefore, homosexual sex will inevitably misqualify the energies of God.

Obviously, if the partners engage in homosexual sex with a pure love, the misqualification is not as severe as if it is done for lower reasons. Nevertheless, if two homosexual people have truly pure love, do they really need to have physical sex in order to express that love? Heterosexual sex has the potential to correctly qualify the energies of God. Homosexual sex simply does not have that potential, just as two bodies of the same sex cannot produce a child. Creation only occurs through a harmonious union between a masculine and feminine polarity. This also explains why a lifestream cannot achieve maximum spiritual growth until it attains balance between its masculine and feminine elements.

Kim: Some people claim that homosexuals are more spiritual than other people. Some claim that only by acknowledging their homosexuality did they make spiritual progress. Some claim that many of the greatest mystics of all time were homosexuals. Even some spiritual teachers claim that homosexuality is a higher form of sexuality and a necessary stage on the soul’s spiritual path. What are your comments?

Jesus: When you understand what I explained in the beginning of this answer, it becomes obvious that homosexuality is not a necessary part of the lifestream’s spiritual growth. I am aware that some spiritual teachings seek to glorify or justify homosexuality. Yet this is simply an unintentional misunderstanding or a deliberate attempt to deceive people.

As I explained above, a new lifestream will often embody in bodies of the same sex for many lifetimes, and this means it comes to identify itself as a male or female lifestream. As the lifestream matures, it needs to overcome this identification, which means it now starts embodying in both male and female bodies. So based purely on this consideration, it is indeed true that many homosexuals are more mature lifestreams than the average person.

Yet it is equally true that a lifestream does not have to become a homosexual in order to transcend its identification with human sexuality. In fact, most lifestreams can do this without becoming homosexuals. I am aware some spiritual teachers have said that homosexuality is a natural or necessary stage in a lifestream ‘s growth, but this is simply a false teaching.

Which means that while it is true that many homosexuals are indeed more mature than the people who condemn homosexuality, they are not truly mature in the sense that they still have an imbalance between the masculine and feminine aspects. Indeed, if a homosexual is truly spiritually mature, he or she will seek to transcend all sexuality instead of defending homosexuality. Take note that I am not hereby saying that people should not work to help society overcome homophobia. Yet a mature lifestream will work for tolerance of homosexual people without glorifying homosexuality as having some ultimate status.

In the book, Save Yourself, we talk in great detail about why a lifestream often chooses to embody in very difficult circumstances. The main reason is that certain circumstances can force the lifestream to deal with some of its psychological hang-ups. Only by resolving these psychological blocks, can the lifestream make spiritual progress. I have explained that homosexuality is an imbalance between the lifestream’s male and female aspects. Some lifestreams have reached a point where they can make no further progress until they resolve this imbalance. Therefore, certain lifestreams can indeed choose to embody as homosexuals in order to force themselves to deal with the issue of sexuality and the imbalance between male and female aspects. Yet this is not done because the lifestream believes homosexuality is more spiritual or a higher from of sexuality. It is simply done as a tool to help the lifestream resolve its imbalances and therefore move beyond all human sexuality.

I can state very clearly that there are no homosexual beings in heaven—no matter what certain people seem to believe. You cannot enter heaven as long as you have an imbalance between the male and female aspects of your own lifestream. When you do achieve the correct balance between male and female aspects, you transcend all human sexuality.

So it is true that certain homosexual people are more spiritual than the average human being. Yet they are not spiritual because they are homosexuals. They chose to embody as homosexuals because they have a great desire to more forward on the spiritual path, and they recognize that what blocks their personal path is the imbalance between the male and female aspects of the lifestream.

This also holds true for the mystics who started out life as homosexuals. You will see that most of these mystics eventually moved beyond any sexuality. The need to express physical sexuality simply faded away, and they started focusing all their attention on the spiritual side of life.

It is true that if a lifestream has embodied as a homosexual for the specific purpose of achieving healing, then a lifestream will not achieve this healing by ignoring or denying its homosexual tendencies. Only by consciously acknowledging a problem do you have any chance of resolving the problem. Yet I must issue a word of caution about this matter.

In today’s world you find certain areas or cultures in which homosexuality is seen as a normal or natural thing. You have strong forces that are attempting to make society recognize homosexuality as normal, and so far they have achieved great inroads in the media. The problem with this approach is that a lifestream who has embodied as a homosexual for the specific purpose of achieving healing can be caught up in this culture. The lifestream might begin to feel that its homosexual tendencies are normal and therefore should be practiced rather than resolved.

In other words, a culture based on an uncritical acceptance of homosexuality, without an understanding of the spiritual cause of homosexuality, can actually abort the lifestream’s chances of achieving its goal of spiritual growth. A lifestream can begin to see itself as a homosexual soul and thereby refuse to deal with its imbalance. In other words, instead of achieving spiritual progress, the lifestream becomes more entrenched in its imbalanced state. From the perspective of a spiritual teacher, this is most unfortunate.

While it is true that some lifestreams will make spiritual progress only by consciously acknowledging their homosexual tendencies, it is not true that this necessarily means that the person has to practice those tendencies. You can very well resolve the imbalance that causes the homosexual tendencies without becoming a practicing homosexual.

In fact, if you are truly concerned about making maximum spiritual progress, it will be extremely wise to avoid entering into a homosexual relationship. Doing so will cause you to misqualify God’s energy, and this will create a magnetic pull that will literally draw you away from your spiritual growth. Engaging in a homosexual relationship also increases the likelihood that you will feel a need to justify your actions and thereby become more entrenched in an unbalanced state of consciousness.

My advice is that if a person has homosexual tendencies, that person should acknowledge these tendencies. However, instead of seeking to justify them or engaging in a homosexual relationship, the person should seek to resolve them through spiritual and psychological means.

There are many psychological techniques that can help you resolve imbalances in the soul vehicle. Within the last few decades, many techniques have been released that are not yet recognized by the orthodox psychological establishment. Yet any person with an open mind will find valuable techniques that can truly help resolve spiritual imbalances. For spiritually inclined people, there are many spiritual techniques that can help resolve such imbalances. In fact, the technique for inner attunement with your Christ self is an invaluable help in this process.

It is a universal principle that if you want to make maximum spiritual progress, you must transcend the lower mind’s tendency to justify imperfection and instead embrace your higher self which lifts you towards wholeness.

Kim: I am sure some people will ask how you can talk about unconditional love and at the same time take an uncompromising stand against homosexuality. They will feel that if you love homosexuals unconditionally, you should show tolerance towards their sexuality.

Jesus: Of course they will, and the reason is that they are trapped by the relativity and the conditionality of the dualistic state of consciousness. As a result, they cannot fathom unconditional love.

Unconditional love does not mean uncritical acceptance of any condition. I love every lifestream on earth with an unconditional love. Because my love is unconditional, I want to see every lifestream come home to God. Yet because I am not trapped by the relativity of the dualistic mind, I clearly see the myriad conditions that prevent lifestreams from coming home to God and that, in fact, threaten the death of many lifestreams on earth.

Would it be unconditional love to watch a lifestream move towards its own destruction without attempting to warn that lifestream? I think not! How could I warn a lifestream without making it clear that certain conditions will lead to the destruction of that lifestream? So how could I feel unconditional love towards the lifestream and at the same time tolerate conditions that destroy the lifestream?

Unconditional love is uncompromising in its devotion to the growth and salvation of the lifestream. Conditional love goes into one of two extremes. One extremes defines a set of outer rules and says that a person who violates the rules is unworthy of love. The other extreme tolerates conditions that destroy the lifestream and calls this compromise for true love. Yet either extreme is conditional love that springs from the relativity of the lower state of consciousness. Only a love based on the discernment of the Christ consciousness can be truly unconditional.

Unconditional love means that I love a lifestream no matter what that lifestream has done or what state of consciousness it currently has. Yet, because of my love, I do not want to see a lifestream remain stuck in its current state of consciousness. I want to see that lifestream move forward towards the Christ consciousness, which is the only means to the lifestream’s salvation.

Because I have an unconditional love for the lifestream, I have an uncompromising devotion to the lifestream’s growth. Therefore, I have an uncompromising attitude towards any condition that aborts the lifestream’s growth.

God does not condemn any lifestream. I do not condemn any lifestream. We do not desire to have any lifestream see itself as a sinner or feel guilty for having made certain choices in the past. We only desire to see lifestream’s move from their current state of consciousness towards a state of balance and wholeness.

We do not condemn homosexuals. Yet this does not mean that we accept homosexuality as normal or natural. We see it as one of many imbalances that prevent lifestreams from coming home. We desire to see all lifestreams resolve the imbalances that prevent them from coming back to the loving embrace of their Father/Mother God.

The fact is that because of my unconditional love, I make a clear distinction between a lifestream and its current – temporary – sexuality. Thus, I never make the mistake of identifying a lifestream with its sexuality—homo- or heterosexual. What causes lifestreams to identify with their sexuality is that they have lost unconditional love. And in their conditional love, they will often project that it is my love that is conditional because it does not conform to their dualistic image of love. Yet as a spiritual teacher, I cannot help people become free by conforming to their mental images—I can do so only by challenging their mental images.
