Legitimate desires do not lead to addictions

TOPICS: Alcohol has many effects – use natural remedies – chemicals in red grapes with positive effects – must take in large quantities – alcohol will have negative effects – eat grapes without alcohol – acknowledge if you have a desire for alcohol – is this your own desire? – alcohol does not enhance your spiritual growth – legitimate desires do not lead to addiction – naturally letting go of a desire –

Question: Jesus, would you please comment on the potential health benefits of drinking red wine.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I am aware that scientific studies have shown that drinking red wine can help prevent heart disease. Yet did these studies examine the negative effects that drinking large amounts of alcohol has on other aspects of the body?

There are many plants on earth that are literally put here by God for the sake of being used as medicine. Human beings would do well to use natural remedies to cure diseases and to put a stop to the greed of the pharmaceutical industry.

My point is that there are chemicals in red grapes that have beneficial health effects. The problem is that in order to reap these benefits, you must take in great quantities of red grapes. If you take in such large quantities through wine, the alcohol will have negative health effects. It might also lead to addiction, and this will certainly have a negative effect on your spiritual faculties. Therefore, I strongly recommend that people either eat raw grapes, raisins or drink grape juice.

I am aware that certain people have always had a desire for alcohol, and they are always looking for a way to justify indulging this desire. It is a general human tendency that people look for a justification for doing what they desire to do. Such people will use these scientific studies as a justification for drinking red wine.

My advice is that if you have a desire to drink wine, you should acknowledge that desire instead of seeking to camouflage it by saying that you are only drinking because of the health benefits. When you have acknowledged a desire for alcohol, you can begin to make intelligent choices concerning that desire.

You have the option of recognizing that many desires are not your own. They are projected into your mind and desire body by the forces of this world, and in many cases this is done with impure motives. I can assure you that alcohol was not put on this planet by God. Contrary to the claims made by some people, alcohol can never enhance your spiritual growth. In fact, even small amounts of alcohol will dull your spiritual faculties. It will decrease your intuition and make it much more difficult for you to obtain spiritual insights and visions.

Therefore, a sincere spiritual seeker would be well-advised to abstain from all alcohol. This even applies to the serving of wine during communion. In previous ages, it was not easy to preserve grape juice outside of the regular season. Therefore, wine was the only practical way to accomplish this. In today’s age, technology has made it possible to serve grape juice at any time of the year, and there is no more any reason to use wine during communion.

I am not hereby saying that everyone should abstain from alcohol. Many people have a desire to experience the things of this world, including good food accompanied by wine. This can be a legitimate desire. Yet I must tell you that such a desire never leads to addiction. No one has a soul desire for getting drunk and waking up with a headache or for wasting their lives on addictions. Therefore, if you are drinking wine out of a desire, you will do so in moderation.

Once you cross the subtle line between enjoying alcohol and being addicted to alcohol, you can be certain that you are no longer following a true inner desire. Instead, your lifestream is being exploited by the forces of this world who are seeking to prevent your spiritual growth.

A true desire is a satiable desire. It can be satisfied in the short run by enjoying alcohol with a meal without getting drunk. And it can be satisfied in the long run by permanently leaving behind the desire to drink alcohol because you have now come to the realization that maintaining sharp spiritual faculties is more important to you than the enjoyment of sensory pleasures.

What I am saying here is that at a certain level on the lifestream’s path it can be acceptable to enjoy alcohol in moderation. Yet as a lifestream matures, it will naturally begin to focus more attention on the spiritual side of life. As it does so, the lifestream should naturally let go of all desires for alcohol.

The spiritual cause of obesity

TOPICS: Your state of consciousness, not your body, determines where you go – gluttony is a mental disease – obesity is not genetic – eating as a way to insulate yourself from the world – possessed by entities – seek psychological healing and use spiritual tools –

Question: Do fat people go to hell? What is gluttony? I know gluttony is wrong/a sin; but what specifically is a glutton?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Some fat people go to hell, and some go to heaven. In other words, a person’s weight is not what decides whether that person will go to heaven or to hell.

And by the way, Hell is not as envisioned by most Christians. Hell is a state of consciousness that is based on the illusion that it is possible to create a place that is separated from God. Therefore, Hell is not real and it will continue to exist only as long as lifestreams continue to misqualify God’s energies in an attempt to uphold the illusion that they are separated from God.

I would define gluttony as a disorder, as a psychological imbalance that borders on a mental disease and can become a full-fledged mental disease. A glutton then is a person who has lost control and cannot stop eating, even when it is destroying the physical body.

Contrary to popular wisdom, obesity or gluttony is not a genetic condition, although some people can be genetically disposed towards obesity. Everything that happens in the physical body has a psychological counterpart, and therefore gluttony has a psychological cause. There are two main reasons why people tend to eat too much.

One reason is that people have emotional wounds and therefore feel vulnerable to attacks from the outside world. As a subconscious attempt to insulate themselves from the world, they subconsciously desire to put on weight. This creates an insulating layer and gives the lifestream an, often subconscious, sense of security. It makes the lifestream feel that it can crawl into its shell and hide from the world.

This form of obesity, or gluttony, can be overcome by going into psychological healing, either using traditional forms of therapy or some of the many new therapies that have become available over the past few decades. If a person will make a serious effort, it is possible to overcome the desire to insulate oneself from the world, and this will often lead to drastic weight loss. It will also naturally lead to healthier eating habits that will reinforce the weight loss.

However, severe cases of gluttony are a form of addiction. As any chemical addiction, it is much more difficult to break. Once again, an addiction, even a chemical addiction, did not start with a physical cause. It starts with a psychological cause which then, as the chemical addiction is established, spills over into the physical body.

In terms of gluttony, it starts with the desire for protection that I described above. However, in severe cases there is more to it than the lifestream’s psychological wounds. What can happen is that the psychological wounds of a lifestream causes the lifestream to attract outside entities to itself. This can be in the form of disembodied lifestreams, meaning people who have died but whose lifestreams have not moved on into the realms of light as most lifestreams do. You can find descriptions of this phenomenon in several books, including some of the books on near-death experiences. It is also possible that a lifestream can be possessed by a malicious entity, such as a demon.

For people who suffer from severe gluttony, or obesity, I would recommend that they do a serious and objective study of this phenomenon and apply proper techniques for overcoming any outside inferences and psychological wounds. This should include spiritual protection as described on the toolbox website.

Overcoming an addiction

TOPICS: A chemical addiction requires physical treatment – also treat addiction in the mind – you are fighting a battle against dark forces – a hook in your mind that holds you back – enemy without and within – ignorance makes you defenseless – make calls for spiritual intercession – cause is imperfect belief about yourself – willpower is needed – willpower through love – addiction is a habit and it will take time to break it – what you resist persists – addiction might go back lifetimes – useful forms of therapy – the masters sponsor several forms of therapy –

Question: Master Jesus: Is a lifelong addiction (30+ years) due to wrong thinking in the subconscious and/or lower descended beings, and what is the successful way to fight/correct it besides working on attaining Christ consciousness?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

That depends somewhat on what kind of an addiction you are talking about. If the addiction involves a physical/chemical addiction, such as alcohol or smoking, you will need to treat both the body and mind. In other words, once a chemical addiction has been established, you should use physical means to help the body recover from the chemical addiction. However, the chemical addiction was not the cause of the problem because the addiction started in the mind. Therefore, you must also treat addiction in the mind.

We have talked about the need to overcome the epic mindset, yet these teachings are for people who are not facing an addiction, soul fragmentation or possession. To successfully treat an addiction in the mind, I recommend adopting the attitude that you are literally fighting a battle for your lifestream. There is indeed an adversary, a villain, in this battle, namely forces that are seeking to prevent your spiritual progress through the addiction. The essence of an addiction is that it causes your mind to feel that you cannot move beyond a certain point, you cannot rise above a certain level on your spiritual path. In other words, the addiction is like a hook in your mind that pulls you back to a certain level or perhaps even to lower levels.

In every addiction, there is an enemy without and an enemy within. The enemy within is the human ego, and we have given more teachings on the ego elsewhere. There are also dark forces outside of you, as explained elsewhere and in several answers in the section of dark forces.

So what happens here is that an unholy alliance is formed between the human ego, which wants to hold you back and prevent you from uniting with your Christ self, and the outer forces, which want to keep you trapped in the material universe. If your lifestream is not aware of these forces, it cannot protect itself effectively, and therefore it becomes an ignorant victim of these forces. It becomes easy prey for those forces who stalk the world, seeking whom they may devour.

To successfully fight such an attack, you need to use all the tools described on this website. You need to be diligent with spiritual protection and call for the binding of all imperfect forces that are attacking your lifestream, both from within and from without. You can call to Archangel Michael and myself to bind your ego and human self. You can also call for your Christ self to descend into your being and fill your consciousness and energy field with light so that there will be no room for any lower forces to enter. Of course, use the Spiritual Crisis Toolkit.

You can also use the Violet Flame to consume all imperfect energies stored in your energy field. As explained elsewhere, toxic energies form a magnetic pull on your mind and emotions that drags you into repeating negative habits.

Yet in the end, the cause of any addiction is an imperfect belief about yourself, about God and about your relationship with God. To effectively overcome this belief, you need to consciously see the belief for what it is, namely an imperfect belief. You must then decide to replace it by making a better decision that affirms the reality that you are a son or daughter of God. This can best be done through attunement with your Christ self.

Let me say that an essential element of any recovery from addiction is willpower. The addiction started with a decision you made, and it has been reinforced by many smaller decisions that all weaken your will to break the pattern. So it is important to know and acknowledge that the essence of fighting any addiction is that you must strengthen your will to break the pattern. You can call for your Christ self and for me to reinforce your will, but the most efficient way to strengthen your will is through love.

You must find something that you love so much that you realize the addiction is standing in the way of expressing or experiencing that love, and therefore you are willing to give up the addiction to reap the reward of what you love. You might love another person, a particular activity, your own lifestream, spiritual growth, me or God.

If you can find a love that is greater than the downward pull of the addiction, you have won half the victory. If you do not have such a point of love, use the invocations, especially the Unconditional Love Rosary, Invocation for Loving Yourself and Invocation for Clearing the Heart. I can assure you that Mother Mary has love to spare, and she will be happy to give you a portion of her love for your lifestream.

Another important tool is to realize that an addiction is simply a habit that has been created and reinforced by numerous repetitions of certain actions and thoughts. To break such a pattern will take time, and it is beneficial to make up a short affirmation which affirms the positive decision you are using to replace the toxic decision.

However, don’t seek to overpower the old habit by creating a new one. Always ask your Christ self to consume the imperfect thoughts and feelings. You might have heard the popular saying that what you resist persists. There is some truth to this, in the sense that if you give negative thoughts too much attention, you reinforce them. Therefore, it is better to consciously surrender the thoughts to your Christ self and ask it to consume them and to replace them with Christ truth. If you make an effort to build the habit of surrendering imperfect thoughts, you will have taken a major leap forward on your spiritual path.

All of these tools can be very effective, but when you accept the reality of reincarnation, you realize that the decision that led to the present addiction might not have been made in this lifetime. It can go back many lifetimes, perhaps even to the very point when your lifestream first decided to turn its back upon God and separate itself from the spiritual self. One aspect of this is that you cannot expect that such an addiction can be resolved overnight. It might indeed takes years to get to the bottom of such a problem.

Another aspect is that in some cases, depending on how severe the addiction is, it will be strongly advisable to seek the help of a skilled professional. There are many forms of therapy that can help you more quickly get to the bottom of the dysfunctional decision that caused the addiction.

Traditional psychotherapy can have an effect, but because the science of psychology is currently so based on a materialistic view of the world, it is not the best tool for helping you solve deep-seated psychological problems. There are a number of new and alternative psychological healing methods that are far better at doing this.

I do not intend this to be an exhaustive list, but here are a few recommendations. Some psychologists have started using a method called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and it can be quite effective. Certain forms of Health Kinesiology can also help you resolve psychological problems. Finally, I would recommend certain forms of hypnotherapy.

Let me make it clear that I do not recommend traditional hypnotherapy, in which you are put in a deep trance where you have no control over the session and no memory of it afterward. I emphatically discourage people from engaging in any kind of hypnotherapy in which a therapist puts suggestive thoughts into your mind. This very easily leads to a violation of your free will, even if the therapist is unaware of this and has the best intentions.

However, there are certain forms of therapy that are called hypnotherapy, yet they do not put you in a deep trance, you have full control over the session, you can remember everything and the therapist does not put any suggestions into your mind. These forms of hypnotherapy are more like a guided meditation that can help you get in touch with deep aspects of your psychology.

To determine if it is beneficial for you to make use of such therapy, follow the impulses you get from your heart. Use the technique for inner attunement to gain greater clarity.

If you do decide to engage in a form of therapy, use the spiritual tools to prepare for your sessions and to follow up. In other words, spend some time using the spiritual tools on our website working on a particular problem. Then go and do as many sessions as needed until you feel you have gained a greater clarity. In between sessions, use the spiritual tools.

Call for spiritual protection and for the binding of any inner and outer forces that are standing in your way. Use the Violet Flame to consume any imperfect energies that are brought up during the sessions. Also use the decrees to the seven rays to call for the transformation of these old habits. If you will combine therapy and the spiritual tools, you can make much faster progress, and you might indeed be amazed at the results.

I can assure you that if some of the psychological tools that are available today had been available 2,000 years ago, I would have had each and every one of my disciples go into some form of therapy. Many of the psychological healing tools are indeed sponsored by the ascended masters, for the particular purpose of helping people speed up their spiritual growth and manifest Christhood in one time lifetime instead of many lifetimes.

You live at a time when many valuable tools have been brought forth in many areas of life. There is absolutely no reason not to make use of these tools to speed up your progress on the spiritual path. Let me say that I am amazed that people will look backward and think that in order to follow Christ, they should live the way I or my disciples lived 2,000 years ago. This really is not my recommendation. As you can see, I am now making use of the technology of the internet, and I can assure you that I would have done so back then if the technology had been available.

The spiritual cause of a psychopathic personality

TOPICS: Lack of respect for free will – epic mindset – characteristics of a psychopath – no longer sees difference between perception and reality – violates others in order to steal their light – takes many lifetimes to become a psychopath – many psychopaths not so extreme and thus avoid detection – 10 % of population are psychopaths – people in downward spiral can acts as psychopaths – epic drama divides people into groups: good and bad – good people can behave as psychopaths towards bad people – even spiritual people can be fooled by epic mindset – only school of hard knocks might help psychopaths – cannot be reached with arguments or reason – many psychopaths go through second death – do not seek to help psychopaths – overcoming epic mindset will make psychopaths stand out more –

Question: My question is what is the spiritual cause of a psychopathic personality? And is there any way to help a person with that disorder?

Background: This is Wikipedia’s definition:

Psychopathy is a personality disorder whose hallmark is a lack of empathy. Robert Hare, a researcher in the field describes psychopaths as “intraspecies predators who use charm, manipulation, intimidation, sex and violence to control others and to satisfy their own selfish needs. Lacking in conscience and empathy, they take what they want and do as they please, violating social norms and expectations without guilt or remorse”. “What is missing, in other words, are the very qualities that allow a human being to live in social harmony.”

Psychopaths are glib and superficially charming, and many psychopaths are excellent mimics of normal human emotion; some psychopaths can blend in, undetected, in a variety of surroundings, including corporate environments. There is neither a cure nor any effective treatment for psychopathy; there are no medications or other techniques which can instill empathy, and psychopaths who undergo traditional talk therapy only become more adept at manipulating others. The consensus among researchers is that psychopathy stems from a specific neurological disorder which is biological in origin and present from birth. It is estimated that one percent of the general population are psychopaths.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I do not disagree with the definition that the psychopathic personality disorder is characterized by a lack of empathy. However, it is not the full understanding. For what is a lack of empathy caused by? It is caused by a lack or respect for the lives and/or the free will of other people. And where does this lack of respect for others come from? It can come only from the state of blindness that results from having been enveloped in the epic mindset and the epic dramas for many lifetimes.

The personal dramas can cause people to go to great length to satisfy personal desires, but a personal desire cannot cause you to lose all empathy for other people. Even if you are distressed by an unfulfilled personal desire, you still have a sense that other people could also have unfulfilled desires, and thus there is some remnant of empathy. The complete lack of the ability to know or consider the feelings of other people can only come from having engaged in the epic dramas for so long that these conditions are fulfilled:

  • A lifestream is completely convinced that the ends really do justify the means. Thus, other people are simply seen as tools for the fulfillment of the goals defined by your particular epic drama. As I said, epic dramas sprang from the minds of beings who rebelled against God’s law of Free Will, and thus they are based on a lack of respect for free will and the lack of empathy that inevitably follows.
  • A lifestream has become so blinded by the epic mindset that it thinks its perception is not simply a perception created by its own mental state but is the ultimate reality. In other words, the lifestream has confused perception for reality. A psychopath is absolutely sure that his or her way of looking at life is valid, perhaps the only valid way. And if all other people disagree, then that is simply because there is something wrong with them.
  • A lifestream has created a personal downward spiral that has become so intense that it overpowers the person’s conscious mind, colors its perception and effectively neutralizes its ability to make free-will choices. In the extremes of such a spiral, the person acknowledges no restrictions for the fulfillment of its desires, regardless of the consequences for other people. Yet even if a psychopath is not willing to use physical violence, there can still be a complete unwillingness to respect other people’s free will. It is simply a matter of how much another person can be pushed into compliance with the will of the psychopath.

It may seem as if a psychopath who kidnaps women and tortures and rapes them is doing so to fulfill a personal desire for sex. Yet the underlying mechanism is actually an epic drama that in its own twisted way justifies this extreme measure in order to force the victims to misqualify and release the maximum amount of light, which the psychopath needs for its mere survival in the physical realm. This is usually justified as being part of some greater cause to punish women for their temptation of men or a similar kind of twisted logic.

The claim that the cause of psychopathy is a neurological disorder contradicts the statement that no medications can instill empathy. If the disorder has a mechanical cause, there should also be a mechanical measure that could restore what is clearly present in most people. Thus, the real cause is to be found in the lifestream, and one does not become a psychopath in one or even a dozen lifetimes. It takes hundreds of lifetimes in the epic mindset to reach this level of closed-mindedness.

It is perfectly true that psychopaths can blend into society and often go undetected for a long time. Yet be careful about thinking that psychopaths are those who go to extreme measures, such as violence. Many psychopaths do not go to such extremes, but use psychological forms of violence to control and manipulate others, and as such they remain undetected.

In fact, far more than 1 percent of the population have various degrees of psychopathic personality disorder. The bottom 10 percent could all be considered full-blown psychopaths, as they have little to no respect for free will and no empathy for other people in general but only for a select few. One example is a commandant of a Nazi death-camp who loves his own children as any normal father but has no compunction about sending other people’s children to the gas chambers.

In fact, it should be considered that all people can under certain circumstances be pressured into losing empathy and respect for other people’s free will. This is especially the case when people go into a negative spiral. One of the essential ingredients of a downward spiral is that the people in it will not take responsibility for themselves, and this is usually justified by appointing another person or group as the scapegoat who can now be blamed for a variety of bad things that seemingly justify why the people whose perception is colored by the downward spiral do not need to apply normal empathy or respect for free will to the scapegoat. Just look at the people who condemned me during my trial and who spat on me and mocked me while I was carrying the cross through the streets of Jerusalem. And then look at how many similar situations have taken place throughout history.

The defining characteristic of the epic dramas is precisely that it divides humanity into two separate groups, based on whatever world view or belief system justifies the epic drama. As a result, those in the “bad” group are labeled as not being entitled to normal human rights, respect or protection. Thus, those in the “good” group can do to such people what they would never do to their own. Throughout history, this has been used to justify all kinds of atrocities that the people committing them normally would not have been able to justify. Thus, this division of humanity into two distinct groups is also the defining characteristic of the psychopathic personality disorder. This division is NEVER justified based on the mind of Christ, which is why I said: “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

What is normally called a psychopath is a person who may have only one person in the “good” group (himself or herself) whereas most or all other people can be treated without empathy. Yet, as I said, most people can be lured into seeing such a division as justified by certain circumstances. For example, a large part of the American public lost all empathy with certain Muslim groups (perhaps even all Muslims) after the 9-11 incident. Even today, you see the former head of Homeland Security state that the person who attempted to blow up an airplane does not deserve the same rights as American citizens. Yet this is a man who has sworn to uphold the Constitution, which is based on the Declaration of Independence, which says that ALL men have inalienable rights.

Even people on the spiritual path can be lured by the epic mindset into creating such a downward spiral by appointing other people as scapegoats and losing their empathy. For example, the entire mindset that you have to bring forth the judgment of others can very easily distort people’s perception to the point, where they lose all empathy for the person or persons who need to be judged. Spiritual people can – depending on their belief system – have their own reasons for labeling other people as bad. For example, they may be seen as being of the devil, being of anti-christ, being fallen angels, being possessed by demons or whatever label comes out of a spiritual belief system that still has elements of dualism.

Thus, those who think they are fit to judge can no longer see that it is their own polluted perception that makes them think they are fit to judge and that the other people are fit to be judged. They judge based on their polluted perception, not based on the reality of the Christ mind (even though they may claim so). That is why I said, “Judge not that ye be not judged” and “Judge not after the appearance.” Thus, take note of my teachings on judgment given elsewhere.

Is there any way to help a person with psychopathic personality disorder? In most cases, people who have gone into the extremes of this disorder can be helped only through the school of hard knocks. And this will often happen only when they have been removed to an environment where they are surrounded by lifestreams with the same low consciousness, so they will give the knocks to each other. Nothing else has a chance of awakening them, because their perception is so polluted – and they are so sure it is reality – that you cannot reach them with any kind of arguments. In rare cases, a truly innocent person can awaken a psychopath by allowing him or her to abuse it, but those are extremely rare cases, and I do not recommend anyone trying this deliberately. A substantial portion of full-blown psychopaths will end up going through the second death as not even the ascended masters can reach them.

If you identify a psychopath in your surroundings, it is generally speaking better to get out of the way and let both the Law of God and the laws of society do their work. This is not to say that you should not report such a person’s illegal behavior to the authorities, but you should generally not try to help them unless you have professional training. And even then, extreme caution is in order, for some psychopaths are so clever in their use of dualistic logic that only a person with Christ discernment can divide the muddied waters and make it safely across. Obviously, this is one of those cases where prison or a mental institution is necessary in order to protect other people from those who have become spiritual predators, walking about seeking whom they may devour.

It is the plan of the ascended masters to expose the epic dramas and the epic mindset, which will bring about a heightened awareness that will cause many people to snap out of the epic mindset and thus overcome the belief that humanity can be divided into two separate categories. This belief is very seductive and extremely few people can handle it without coming to believe that they need to help God’s plan along by getting rid of the people who oppose it.

As public awareness is raised and more people rise above the epic mindset, the people with psychopathic personality disorder will begin to stand out more and behavior that today is considered “normal” or is undetected will be clearly seen as psychopathic. And this will gradually lead to a point where society will develop means for helping people overcome this disorder—if they are willing. In the Golden Age, there will be a combination of therapy and technology, with machines that can alter the electromagnetic properties of the brain and thus actually correct psychopathic or criminal tendencies. However, this will not become available until the risk of it being misused to “correct” political dissidents has been lessened.

Many people have the seeds of schizophrenia within them

TOPICS: Many have symptoms but only in a few do they get severe – boundary issue – psychical aspects of schizophrenia – psychological aspects – why you come into a body with seeds of schizophrenia – real cause of schizophrenia found in the lifestream – when exposed to severe trauma, the soul vehicle can fragment – leads to boundary issues – most people have this problem, but many can still function “normally” – must heal the 4-fold vehicle – seek professional help –

Question: Beloved Jesus, Talking with a very good friend, whose son is diagnosed as schizophrenic already for many years I was wondering if schizophrenia is an illness of the soul, the mind or the body and if it can be healed.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Schizophrenia is a complex topic because the medical profession does not have a very clear definition of this disease. Many different symptoms are considered part of schizophrenia. When you take a look at the wide variety of symptoms, you will see that most human beings manifest one or more of these symptoms in a milder form.

The importance of this observation is that people who are diagnosed with schizophrenia are not somehow in a separate category from other people. The reality of the situation is that the vast majority of human beings have the seeds of schizophrenia within them. There are simply a few human beings in whom the symptoms become so severe that they cannot function normally or become diagnosed with the disease. There are many people who manage to live with some or all of the symptoms without ever being diagnosed or treated.

If you take the bigger view and step back from the details of the different symptoms, in other words if you look at the forest instead of the trees, you will see that the common denominator behind the multitude of symptoms is a boundary issue. People who have these symptoms have trouble determining the boundary between what is real and what is not real, between what is part of themselves and what is not part of themselves. These people have trouble determining who they are, and therefore their thoughts, feelings and actions are often affected by impulses from outside themselves.

With diseases of any kind, there are always three components of the disease. As I explain throughout this website, the material universe is truly a reflection of the consciousness of material and nonmaterial beings. So when you look at the symptoms, you can see that there is definitely a physical component of the disease. Many factors in the body can affect schizophrenia, such as brain chemistry, hormones or viruses. However, the major physical component of this disease is a disturbance in the electromagnetic functions of the brain. Science is only beginning to understand the true functions of the brain as an electromagnetic device. I predict that in coming decades this will be much better understood, and scientist will indeed develop ways to treat electromagnetic disturbances in the brain.

However, my point here is that these physical components are not the cause of the disease, they simply magnify the symptoms. Therefore, people who have such physical problems might indeed express the psychological symptoms to a more pronounced degree than the average human being, and that is why they are diagnosed with schizophrenia. In such cases, it can be valid to use physical means, such a drugs, to minimize the symptoms. However, this treatment of symptoms should never be mistaken for a cure.

Beyond the physical component is what one might call the psychological component. This is what most psychologists see as the main cause of all psychological problems, and that is why they believe that such problems spring from hereditary and environmental factors. The reality is that there is indeed a mind which is attached to a particular physical body. That mind is greatly affected by the genetic makeup of the person’s parents and the environmental factors that the person is exposed to during his or her upbringing.

However, once again this outer mind is not the cause of the symptoms, it simply magnifies the symptoms. Throughout this website, I talk about the existence of a lifestream, what is commonly called the soul. The lifestream is the ongoing aspect of your being. It survives the death of the physical body, and when the physical body dies, so does the body mind.

The only way for the lifestream to express itself in the material world is through the filter of the outer mind and personality and the physical body. So what happens is that the body and the outer mind will magnify conditions that are already found in the lifestream itself. One might even say that the outer mind and body are reflections of the conditions found in the lifestream. The lifestream is attracted to that particular body precisely because the conditions of the outer mind and body can help the lifestream resolve certain issues. In other words, if a lifestream comes into embodiment with a specific goal of overcoming a mental disease, such as schizophrenia, it will seek out a body and mind that will magnify the symptoms of this disease and therefore help the lifestream to deal with them.

So what I am truly saying here is that the real cause of schizophrenia is found in the lifestream. The good news is that any condition of the lifestream is treatable and curable. The bad news is that it takes work and that there are certain conditions that make it very difficult for the lifestream to perform this work. One such condition is severe cases of schizophrenia. To understand this, let me give you a deeper understanding of the lifestream.

As explained in another answer, the Conscious You is an extension of your spiritual self. In order to take embodiment in a realm as dense as the material universe, the Conscious You needs a vehicle that can integrate with the physical body. This is commonly called the soul, but I prefer to call it the 4-fold vehicle to reflect that it has four levels, corresponding to the four levels of the material realm. Yet the important point here is that the 4-fold vehicle is created as a complete unit, with a crystalline structure. Which means you have a clearly defined sense of identity with clearly defined boundaries.

Before the Fall of Man, planet earth did not have any of the negative conditions found in the world today. Therefore, lifestreams could descend into the material world and take on a physical body without being exposed to some of the traumatic experiences that are common in today’s world. This meant that the lifestream ran virtually no risk of having its original matrix and blueprint fragmented or destroyed.

After the Fall of Man, a number of imperfect conditions started appearing on this planet. This meant that many lifestreams were now exposed to traumatic experiences that were never part of God’s original plan. The reality of the situation is that the lifestream is an instrument for experiencing the material world and for helping to co-create this world. The lifestream therefore has a desire to experience the positive aspects of the material world, but it has no desire to experience the imperfect conditions that are currently found on this planet. So when the lifestream is in a physical body and is exposed to a very traumatic situation, the lifestream can indeed decide that it does not want to experience that situation. However, because the lifestream is trapped in the body, it cannot escape the situation. What happens in such situations is that the 4-fold vehicle fragments; it splits into two or more smaller parts. I explain this in greater detail in another answer

You might have heard the saying that nature abhors a vacuum. When a part of the 4-fold vehicle has been split off, there is a vacuum inside the crystalline structure, and something is going to fill that vacuum. Because of the imperfect conditions found on this planet, it is highly likely that the vacuum is invaded by non-material beings. These can be malicious entities, such as demons. They can be discarnate lifestreams, whose bodies have died but the lifestreams have not moved on to the spiritual realm. It can also be parts of other lifestreams.

When a lifestream’s crystalline structure is invaded by such outside influences, the Conscious You finds it difficult to draw the boundary between itself, meaning the original blueprint of its 4-fold vehicle, and the outside world. The Conscious You can no longer discern what is of itself and what is an external influence; it can no longer discern what is real and what is unreal.

I can tell you that due to the violent past of planet earth, there are very few lifestreams who are complete and whole. The vast majority of human beings have some kind of split or fracture in their lifestreams, and therefore they have been invaded by outside influences. For most people this invasion has not reached a critical mass that prevents them from functioning at the level which is currently called normal, but which is actually far below the lifestream’s true potential.

For some lifestreams, the fracturing has become so severe that they do not have enough psychic substance left to have a clear sense of their identity. That is why their sense of identity begins to break down, and they experience difficulties in drawing proper boundaries around their identities. This can lead to schizophrenia, split personality syndrome and a number of other psychological symptoms. In fact, most psychological symptoms known to man can be traced back to the fragmentation of the lifestream.

The only effective way to heal such symptoms is to help the lifestream regain its wholeness. There are many tools for doing this, and I describe some of them in the answer to another question about addiction. As I explained in that answer, in severe cases, such as schizophrenia, it is strongly advisable to seek the help of an experienced professional. I mention several healing techniques, which can also help schizophrenic patients. However, there is much knowledge that has already been brought forth about this from professionals in the field of psychology and psychiatry. I therefore encourage anyone interested in this topic to study these teachings. One such book is Remarkable Healings, by Shakuntala Modi.

I am aware that many schizophrenic patients will not be able to personally employ some of the spiritual tools I suggest. This is especially true for children. Yet the parents of a schizophrenic child can employ the spiritual tools on behalf of the child. In fact, it is highly likely that the lifestreams of the parents volunteered to give birth to that child precisely because they have a great love for the lifestream and desire to help the lifestream overcome the condition and become whole.

Do mental patients reincarnate with mental illness?

TOPICS: Suicides generally go back into embodiment quickly – individual evaluation always takes place – can come back without the same mental illness – how to make calls for people with mental illness – invoke protection when you are around mental patients –

Question: Concerning mental patients who are committing suicide, I have a question, most of them are doing this because they can’t stand the voices who are going on day after day without end, and some can’t resist the energy anymore and have no discrimination whether it is real or not. I once heard that when a person commits suicide the lifestream has to reembody immediately. Is this a rule without any exception, looking at people who are in a mental hospital or does God look at each case individually? When a mental patient dies, does it mean that in the next life the person comes again as a mental patient (I base this on the fact that when a person dies the consciousness does not change), or is the mercy there that the person can have a “normal” life.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

It is a general rule that when a person commits suicide, that person will come back into embodiment at the first possible opportunity. Yet there is no rule without exception, and the spiritual teachers of a lifestream will indeed make an individual evaluation of the lifestream’s state of consciousness and what would give that lifestream the best opportunity for growth.

It is true that a person will come back into embodiment with much of the same state of consciousness that the person had at the end of its past lifetime. However, there are several factors that have a bearing on this process. In some cases a lifestream can live a very difficult lifetime and at the end of that lifetime, or as it evaluates that lifetime in the spiritual realm along with its spiritual teachers, the lifestream finally has the intuitive breakthrough that enables it to learn the lesson it needed to learn. In that case, the lifestream might actually be free from the psychological blocks that were being outplayed in its last lifetime, and therefore it will come back at a higher level.

It is also possible that a lifestream has had enough of repeating the same negative patterns and cries out for help. It will therefore receive assistance to come up higher. In other words, it is quite possible that a lifestream will come back into embodiment without having the same psychological problems.

Another factor that influences this process is that a mental illness is not exclusively caused by conditions in the lifestream. A lifestream might be predisposed to have mental problems, but it can be hereditary factors, such as body chemistry, or environmental influences, including possession by dark forces, that actually bring these problems to the acute state that puts the person in a mental institution. It is therefore possible that such a lifestream can come back into its next lifetime without having the same difficult body chemistry or the same environmental factors.

I commend you for feeling compassion for the lifestreams who are greatly burdened by such severe psychological disorders. I can assure you that we of the ascended masters share your compassion, and I hope you can now see that there are many ways whereby a lifestream can avoid repeating the same patterns from lifetime to lifetime.

If you know a specific person that you want to help spiritually, you might consider giving prayers and decrees, such as the call to Archangel Michael, the Violet Flame and Mother Mary’s rosaries, to help that person heal from the psychological problems. Psychological problems are always caused by fragmentation or division of the lifestream, as explained elsewhere. Therefore, Mother Mary’s East-West invocation can be an effective tool that returns lost lifestream parts. Yet many of the other invocations for healing the psyche are also very effective.

Let me finally say that for anyone who is around mental patients it is extremely important to be diligent in invoking your spiritual protection. Mental patients often have big holes in their energy fields that make them open to dark forces. It is indeed such forces that cause these people to hear voices or to be unable to distinguish what is real and unreal. It is quite possible that such forces can attack you if you are around mentally ill people without sufficient spiritual protection. Therefore, if you are around such people, be diligent in invoking your spiritual protection and be diligent in seeking to resolve any imbalances in your psychology that could make you vulnerable to the dark forces that often posses mental patients.

Overcoming an abusive childhood

TOPICS: Building a personality to survive abuse – why adults continue to seek abusive relationships – do people want to be free or continue as victims? – pattern started in past lifetimes – the inner child – subconscious programs take place in your mind and are created by your perception – some programs never dormant – you react to abuse with emotional maturity of a child – dissolving programs – abuse victims who don’t pursue therapy – the fear of deciding who you are – the fear of making mistakes – when you take on a role defined by fallen beings – victims are denying the power of God within them – childhood trauma is not the cause of adult behavior – find self-sufficiency within – conscious and subconscious will – push back threshold of conscious awareness – by truly applying yourself, you can overcome ANY pattern from the past –

Question: Can you please give me some insight into why children who have suffered deep woundedness in their childhood often repeat a similar pain by forming relationships in adulthood that have the same damaging pattern? While I do not take huge stock in healing the “inner child” which is a big part of modern psychological discourse, I find – in my own life and others whom I love – a manifestation of repeating a deeply painful pattern, seemingly against one’s free will and self-understanding.

In my case, the absence of having having a father in my life has led to hurtful relationships with men, and primarily a resistance to try and have any relationship at all. I am too afraid to have my heart broken again. My WILL is strong, but my subconscious rules? How can one overcome a dysfunctional pattern that seems to be hard-wired into their Being?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels: (December 17, 2010)

It is understandable that children who have experienced a traumatic childhood build a sense of self-awareness that is centered around seeing themselves as victims of circumstances over which they have no control. After all, as a child you do experience that you are physically weaker and often also emotionally and mentally weaker than the adults around you. And thus, when a child is exposed to abuse, the child feels it is not strong enough to resist the abuse, which seemingly leaves it only one alternative, namely to build a personality that allows it to emotionally and physically survive the abuse.

Yet while this is very understandable for a child, you correctly raise the question of why a person who was abused as a child will continue seeking out abusive relationships as an adult? Given that the person now has the physical strength – and also should have the emotional strength – to walk away from abusive situations, why do some people stay in or attract such situations?

What I am saying here is that as an ascended master, I have great compassion for the many people on earth who experienced a very difficult and abusive childhood. As I said 2,000 years ago, there is hardly a greater travesty than the abuse of children—which is why it is – karmically – better for a person to “have a millstone put around his neck and be thrown into the sea” than to harm one of these little ones.

However, as an ascended master, it is also my role to help people overcome the conditions that limit them. And it is, of course, my knowledge that it is possible for you to transcend ANY condition on earth—if you really want to.

And therefore, this is, indeed, the central question: do people truly want to transcend the self-image of being powerless, of being victims? Do they want the freedom that comes with personal empowerment, or do they prefer the advantages that they gain from continuing to see themselves as powerless victims?

So what I will say from now on is indeed only for those who do want to be free of the limiting patterns.

As you point out in the question, it is indeed a wonder why adults repeat the patterns they have experienced as children—given that they now do have the actual power to avoid abuse. In other words, one might say that as children they did not have the actual power to avoid the abuse, but now that they do have this power, why aren’t they using it; what is it that neutralizes their power?

To begin understanding this, you need to realize that the very fact that adults repeat patterns of abusive relationships – and in many cases seek out such relationships – proves that this is not actually a pattern that was created in childhood in this lifetime. Instead, the real cause can be found only when looking deeper into the psychology of an individual lifestream.

Now, before I go into the deeper cause, I would like to comment on the concept of the inner child. What happens to most people in childhood is that they are exposed to conditions that make them feel threatened—this applies also to children who are not directly abused. So in an attempt to deal with these threats – real or perceived – the child builds up various defense mechanisms. These can be called “inner children” or they could be called subconscious programs that are designed to deal with particular threatening situations.

Take note of how this works. If you have the actual power to avoid a threat, you would use that power. So the subconscious programs are developed for you to deal with situations in which you perceive that you do not have actual power. In other words, they are created to help you deal with a situation in a passive way because you do not think you have the power to deal with it in an active way. Thus, they are not actually geared towards dealing with the external situation; they are created to help you deal with your internal situation.

Such programs can be compared to software programs installed on a computer. The programs are inactive until a certain command activates them, whereupon they temporarily take over the computer screen—comparable to your conscious mind. In this case, the command that activates the program is a situation in which you experience or perceive a threat that is similar to what you experienced in childhood and which caused you to develop the program.

Take note of what I am saying here. A program is activated by a situation in which you PERCEIVE that you are being threatened. That is why most adults have forgotten that they have such childhood programs—as normal adults you are no longer threatened by the things that made you feel threatened as a child. For example, most children developed an inner child or program to help them deal with their fear of the dark. Yet as they grow older, the fear of the dark fades away, and thus the program is rarely if ever activated. It is still there in the subconscious, but it is rarely activated as an adult.

My point is that most adults have quite a few of these subconscious programs, but they rarely encounter situations that activate them. The reason being that adult life rarely makes them feel threatened the same way they felt threatened as children.

For people who had an abusive childhood, the situation is somewhat different. In essence, these people also developed subconscious programs to help them deal with situations in which they felt threatened. But the difference is that because there was a direct, physical abuse, the programs have a much stronger influence on the person and they also have a much lower threshold for when they are activated.

Another way of saying this is that for a “normal” child a subconscious program is dormant most of the time and is only activated when needed—which hopefully is a rare occurrence and which becomes more rare as the child grows into adulthood. Yet when there is severe abuse, the child develops a program that is never dormant, because the child lives in a constant sense of being threatened.

So what you have now is an adult who never actually puts the subconscious program into a dormant state, and thus the program is still running in the background, even though there may be periods where it is not noticeable. Yet as soon as there is a perceived threat, the program springs into action and takes over the person’s mind.

Why is this a problem, given that the program was developed to help a person deal with a threat? Well, the problem is that the program was developed based on the self-image that the person had as a child. And thus, the program reflects the physical, mental and emotional maturity that the child had at the age when the abuse took place or began.

The consequence is that you now have an adult who is responding to an abusive relationship with the emotional maturity of a child—and that should make it obvious why the adult cannot break out of an abusive relationship. You have an adult person being abused, but the person is defending himself or herself based on the emotional maturity of a child. Which is why the person still thinks it has to allow itself to be abused by an adult—who is perceived as having superior power.

So the most constructive way to deal with this is that a person recognizes the pattern and recognizes that it is caused by a subconscious program that is no longer valid. Therefore, the obvious solution is that the program must be dissolved, so that you can be free to deal with abusive situations with the maturity you now have in many other situations.

There are numerous ways to dissolve such programs, such as inner child therapy, Gestalt therapy, talk therapy, hypnotherapy, EMDR therapy and others. The way such therapy works is that it eventually helps you go back to the situation where the program started. You then see that the very beginning of the program is that you formulated a specific belief about a specific abusive situation.

The belief basically states why you felt you did not have the power to stop the abuse and why you decided that you had to submit to it. And while that decision might have been reasonable for a child, once you see it as an adult, you can see that it is no longer a valid decision. You can then replace that original decision based on a decision you make as a mature adult who does have the power to stop abuse and thus has no need to submit to it. So, I am therefore encouraging people to engage in such therapy if they feel the need to break free of any repetitive patterns in their lives.

Now, in some cases, there are people who will not experience healing by going back to childhood. The reason is that a subconscious program was not created in this lifetime, but goes back many lifetimes. In such cases, it can sometimes help to use a form of regressive therapy, but even the therapies mentioned above can help you get in touch with decisions made in past lifetimes.

However, there is still a lingering question. Because it is a readily observable fact that the people who have experienced the most abuse as children are often the last ones to pursue therapy. And so how can this be explained?

Well, this is where we need to go much deeper into the psychology of an individual lifestream. In my discourse about the true path versus the false path, I explain that a lifestream starts out taking on various pre-defined roles in a protected environment. Yet there comes a point, where the lifestream must take the step up and begin to define its own roles.

For many lifestreams this can seem like a scary proposition. The reason why it seems scary is that these lifestreams have become influenced by the mind of anti-christ, and they have started to believe in the dualistic scale of right and wrong. Thus, they have started to believe that if they define their roles in the “wrong” way, they can become stuck in them and shut out from God’s kingdom. So as the teacher pushes them to get on a bike without the training wheels, these lifestreams choose to refuse to take responsibility for defining their own roles. Now, take a little time to contemplate what this means.

If you take full responsibility for yourself, you acknowledge that you have defined a certain role, and you have then started looking at the world through the perception filter of that role. Yet if you acknowledge that you defined the role, you also know that you can – at any time – step out of the role or redefine the role. So why even think in terms of you having made a mistake? You simply experimented, and if you don’t like the outcome, you change the experiment until you get an outcome you like.

Of course, if you are not willing to take full responsibility – but want to maintain the belief that someone else has defined your role for you – then you have only one option. And that is to go into a role that is indeed predefined for you—only it was not defined by the true spiritual teachers but by the fallen beings who act as false teachers.

There are many roles that were defined based on the illusion of separation, and they all have a central dynamic in common. They all portray you as a separate being who is the victim of some exterior force that is much more powerful than your interior force. And thus, you really haven’t defined your own role and you really can’t do anything to change it. You simply have to continue accepting that there is an exterior force that is dominating your life, and then you have to adapt to this domination as best you can.

I know that for a person who has experienced a deeply abusive childhood, this can seem heartless, but it is also reality.

Any time – and I mean ANY TIME – you see yourself as a victim, it is because you have put an exterior “god” before the real God within you. And it is only because you are denying the power of God within you that you can believe you are the victim of an exterior force.

The reality is that – as mandated by the Law of Free Will – you are NEVER a victim—unless you choose to be a victim. And that truly means that if people live their adult lives seeing themselves as victims, it is for one reason only: they have not had enough of the experience of being victims—and therefore having a seemingly watertight excuse for not taking responsibility for themselves and their state of mind.

As an ascended master, I can only bow to people’s free will. I have no desire to force anyone to stop having the experience they actually want to have. Yet when people decide that they want a different experience, then I am ever ready to help them transcend ANY sense of self they have built.

So my point is that childhood trauma is not the cause of adult behavior. Adult behavior is an extension of an underlying problem that caused you to attract the childhood situation. Thus, if you truly want to be free, you must start by seeking to dissolve dysfunctional subconscious programs. But then you must go beyond and go all the way back to the earliest decisions that caused you to go into the pattern you have been repeating for a very long time.

Let me in closing briefly comment on a couple of statements from the question:

” In my case, the absence of having having a father in my life has led to hurtful relationships with men, and primarily a resistance to try and have any relationship at all. I am too afraid to have my heart broken again.”

The key to overcoming this is to realize that the essential relationship in your life is the relationship with your I AM Presence. The father figure on earth is a symbol for the masculine aspect of God, which is a symbol for your own Presence—which symbolizes the need for a stable center – a sun – around which the planets of your life can revolve.

As long as you look to an exterior source – be it a person on earth or a remote god in heaven – to fulfill your need for a stable center, you will always be disappointed. The ONLY solution is to stop looking outside yourself and make a determined effort to establish a direct, inner relationship with your Presence. Of course, this requires you to be willing to take full responsibility for your state of mind, so you never use any external condition as an excuse for not connecting within.

“My WILL is strong, but my subconscious rules? How can one overcome a dysfunctional pattern that seems to be hard-wired into their Being”

In reality, the will that is strong is the conscious will, and it has little power over the subconscious programs. Furthermore, the will of the conscious mind has little power over the will that caused you to make decisions at deeper levels of your being.

In other words, the decision you made a long time ago to not take responsibility for yourself is far stronger than any will you can have at the level of conscious awareness. You can NEVER override such a deeper decision by making a decision with the conscious mind—that is as long as the deeper decision is still below the threshold of conscious awareness.

The ONLY way out is to push back the threshold of conscious awareness, so that you make the deeper decision conscious, Once you see it for what it is and see why you made that decision, you can then consciously replace it with a better decision.

Yet this is something that cannot be done a a result of some magical quick fix or a week-end inner child seminar. This is something that takes time, for many people decades or lifetimes. Yet what you can indeed do instantly is to make the conscious decision that you are willing to push back the threshold of conscious awareness so you can see your past decisions.

And once you make that commitment, you can make use of the many tools that are available for this purpose, from our toolbox website to other spiritual teachings, from our decrees and invocations to meditation and from traditional psychotherapy to newer forms of therapy.

If you truly open yourself to the process, then you WILL be given guidance as to the next step you need to take. And if you take every step, you will make progress—and within the foreseeable future, you will look back and marvel at how far you have come in such a – relative to suffering lifetime after lifetime – short period of time.

The bottom line is this. If you feel like a victim who has no power to change your situation, then this proves there is something in yourself that you have not been willing to look at. You will therefore remain a victim for as long as it takes before you have suffered so much that you finally make the decision to look at the beam in your own eye.

I told all of you to do this 2,000 years ago. You are free to postpone the decision for another 2,000 years. Yet you will obviously have to live with what you are not willing to look at until you do look at it and then transcend it by making a better decision.

Question: What are the most effective and efficient techniques for healing one’s psychology?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels: (October 13, 2010)

The most effective and efficient techniques for healing YOUR psychology are the ones that work best for YOU.

What I mean is that every human being is a unique individual. We might say that when you started experimenting with the duality consciousness, you created your own personal maze or labyrinth. And for each twist and turn that brought you deeper into the maze, you made a decision based on a particular belief or illusion. Your personal path back to freedom from duality will require you to undo those previous choices by consciously seeing them for what they are and then making a decision to transcend them.

In other words, the essence of your path is that you come to a point, where you see one of the limiting decisions from your past, see how it is based on an illusion and then accept a higher understanding that will set you free from the illusion—the truth shall make you free. So the tools and techniques that will be most efficient for you, are the ones that help you come to the point of seeing what has been hidden from you perhaps for many lifetimes. Since each individual has his or her unique personal maze, it is not possible to come up with one single tool that will work equally well for everyone. If this had indeed been possible, we of the ascended masters would long ago have released it to humankind.

There are indeed many people who have accepted the same dualistic illusion, but they often accepted it for slightly different reasons. Thus, even if they all have to overcome the same illusion, the same statement of truth will not necessarily work equally well for everyone. That is why there is a need for many different teachings that talk about the same topics from slightly different perspectives. It may take that you study several teachings before you find the right combination of words and concepts that will unlock your ability to see through a particular illusion. That is why loyalty to a particular teaching or teacher is not constructive. What you need to be loyal to is your own inner path.

Consider also that your personal maze has layers or sections. If you look at humankind, you will see that they are at different stages of development, as I have mentioned before. The techniques that will help you see through illusions at one stage will not necessarily work efficiently at another stage.

My point is that if you want to find the most efficient way to heal your psychology, you need to start out by developing the most constructive approach to this task. The first step I would recommend is to accept that there is no quick-fix (for help on this, search our websites for “quick-fix” and read the articles found).

Healing your psychology is something that should be approached as a lifetime task that will continue at least as long as you are in embodiment. Furthermore, it is NOT a mechanical task that you can accomplish by applying what is claimed to be the ultimate tool or technique. There literally is no system that will automatically heal your psychology, because it is all up to the decisions you make and your willingness to multiply the talents.

Yet as I describe in the Book Save Yourself, there are two pillars of progress. One is that you need to transmute the misqualified energy that has accumulated in your energy field and the other is that you need to see through your illusions and thus replace limiting choices with liberating choices.

So let us look at the transmutation of energy. Obviously, if you are open to this website, I would recommend that you make use of the invocations and decrees  we have provided specifically for this purpose. Yet I am not hereby saying that there are not other efficient techniques for this purpose, and if you feel a strong inner prompting to use another technique, by all means do so. Also be aware that at different stages of your path, you will need different techniques.

Another aspect is to stop creating more misqualified energy, and while this can ultimately be done only by resolving the wounds (overcoming the illusions) that cause you to go into certain reactionary patterns, you can indeed accomplish much through a combination of honest self-examination and self-discipline. If you see that you have a tendency to become angry, then you can make progress by making a firm decision that it is not acceptable to express this anger, and then discipline yourself to hold it back. In the short term, this can stop you from making more karma and reinforcing a negative spiral. In the long run, it will not be effective unless you also make a sincere effort to discover why you become angry, and then transcend the illusions that make you think anger is an acceptable or unavoidable reaction.

And this brings us to the next element, which is to find ways to make visible the elements of your psychology that are limiting you and “forcing” you into reactionary patterns that you either cannot break or see no need to break. To this end, you can make significant progress by studying spiritual teachings and general books on psychology. Obviously, my ego discourses and many other teachings on the websites and in our books were released for this purpose. But again, I am not saying you should confine yourself to any one source. On the contrary, you need to allow yourself to be guided to what you need to study. Make a habit of tuning in to your higher self or spiritual teacher and then follow the promptings you get, even what you get through other people or outer circumstances. If a book suddenly comes to your attention, then study it.

Yet even though this can give significant progress, there comes a point where you cannot make any more progress unless you get direct feed-back on your psychology from someone who is not inside your mental box and therefore can see what you cannot see. This is where you need to ponder Master MORE’s saying, “If the guru be an ant, heed him.” In many cases, you get such feed-back from people around you, and often from people you think are below you or not in a position to give you advice. Obviously, you should not necessarily listen to everything people say, especially if you can see they have a negative or selfish intent.

If you truly want to make quick progress, it can be extremely helpful to apply one of the many techniques designed to help you make visible what is hidden in the subconscious mind. Again, there is not one technique that will do it all for you. Start where you are at right now in consciousness and consider what you are aware of. Then tune in and see which technique most appeals to you right now. When you have a clear sense, apply that technique and keep applying it until you feel it has given you a breakthrough and that you need to look for something else.

Then trust that if you keep your mind and heart open to inner guidance, you will indeed receive such guidance. Suddenly, a book will come to your attention or you will read something in a magazine or on the internet. Or you will meet a person who tells you about some technique. I am not hereby saying you should try anything and everything that comes to your attention. You should always refer to your inner guidance and see what resonates with you at the heart level.

Once you have decided on a tool, apply it to the best of your ability and do not stop until you experience some kind of breakthrough. Far too many people try something once or twice and then give up because it did not give them instant results. I have no problem with you eating instant oatmeal, but there is no such thing as instant psychology.

In some cases, a particular tool is meant to give you only one significant breakthrough, but in most cases, a tool can give you a series of breakthroughs that take you to a higher level. Do not overanalyze with the outer mind, but trust hat if you were guided to a certain tool, it has something to show you. And do not decide to stop using the tool with the outer mind, but allow your inner guidance to take you to the next step. If you are truly open and willing to see anything in your psyche that blocks your growth, your guidance will take you where you need to go.

And this, of course, brings up the 64,000 Dollar question, namely how willing you are to see the beam in your own eye. The vast majority of the people who see themselves as spiritual seekers have one or more areas in their psyche that they are not willing to look at, usually because they think doing so will cause them to be overwhelmed with pain, but in some cases because it would shatter their pride.

In the beginning stages, it can be wise not to look at the deep wounds. However, as you move higher on the path, it becomes necessary to look at anything and everything. It is only what you seek to hide from God that will keep you out of God’s kingdom, for in the light nothing can remain hidden. So as you make progress, it is necessary to consider where you have areas of resistance or reluctance. Anything you seek to avoid looking at will be the thing that allows your ego to keep hiding, and as long as the ego can hide, it will keep you trapped.

So in the end, everything depends on your motivation, on your willingness to give up your mortal life in order to follow Christ into the immortal life of being ego-free. In a way, the healing of your psychology can be seen as a tug-of-war between you and your ego; the ego pulling you to not look at the deep wounds and the big illusions. The deciding factor is whether your motivation to be free is greater than your ego’s motivation to survive. Is your desire to win immortal life greater than your ego’s fear of death or its prideful quest for immortality in this world.

I am aware that some will say I have not answered your question because I have not mentioned specific techniques. Yet I am deliberately not mentioning specifics because I do not want people to chose a technique because I have recommended it—and then think it has to be the right one for them at this stage. We might say that part of your healing is to become spiritually self-sufficient, and that means being willing to listen for guidance and then making decisions and learning from the outcome.

In some cases you might actually get guidance to apply a certain technique, but the reason is that you need to learn why this technique will not deliver what it promises. This does not mean you were deceived by your guidance, for you do indeed need certain experiences in order to come to see what you cannot see. And in some cases you do need to pound your head against a concrete wall a certain number of times before you realize that this is not the experience you want to have in life. And thus, you decide to look at yourself instead of thinking it is the wall that has to change.

He that changes self is greater than he that changes the world.

Let me end by saying that I understand that for many people healing their psychology can seem like an overwhelming task. And indeed, it will seem overwhelming for some time. Yet if you truly study the teachings we have given on our vast websites and also apply some of the practical tools, I can assure you that anyone who is willing to look in the mirror will make progress. And once you realize you have made progress, the task of healing your psychology will no longer seem overwhelming. In fact, it will become a task that you see as a natural part of life, while not letting it take you away from pursuing your life’s practical and enjoyable aspects. May you reach that point speedily, so you will be able to find the joy that is awaiting those who have the courage to look at and heal their psychological wounds.

Overcoming the sorrow of abortion

TOPICS: It is never too late to heal – once something has happened, the only concern is how to move on – earth is a very complex environment, where you cannot always do what you planned – lifestreams can receive other opportunities to come into embodiment – use spiritual tools to consume all energies and karma – accept God’s forgiveness and move on –

Question: I am a 41 year old mother of two beautiful children. I’ve had a total of five pregnancies—1 miscarriage, and two abortions. I’ve been conflicted about the abortions for a long time, trying to find peace with God and my decision to abort those children. How can I make peace with this? Is it too late? Can those souls know the depths of my sorrow and regret at having denied them opportunity? For a time I was able to rationalize that my two existing children were the souls of those I aborted, and that they had simply had to wait until a ‘better’ time when I could be the mother to them that I desired to be. Now I’m not so sure, and my sorrow is renewed.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

My beloved sister, I have already answered a very similar question elsewhere, and everything I said in that answer certainly applies to your situation. Let me add a few comments here to address the issues that were not addressed in my previous answer.

Let me first say that nothing is ever too late. You can make peace with any mistake you have made, and the first and most important step is to recognize that you made a mistake. You have already completed this step, and therefore what is left is to forgive yourself as I explain in the other answer.

You ask if the lifestreams you aborted can know the depths of your sorrow, and the answer is that they can and do. However, they do not want you to feel sorrow. They want you to recognize your mistake, learn from your mistake and then accept God’s love and forgiveness so that you can move on with your life. These lifestreams have no desire to hurt or punish you; they simply desire to move on and they desire to see you move on.

It is correct that an abortion denies the lifestream an opportunity to come into embodiment. Yet it is not correct to assume a given pregnancy was the only opportunity for that lifestream to come into embodiment. Please do not misunderstand what I am saying. My previous remarks on abortion state clearly that society should make abortion illegal and that a woman should not have an abortion except in a life-and-death situation. Nevertheless, once an abortion has taken place, there is nothing you can do to change what has happened. What you can do is to turn the situation around so that everyone involved can grow from the situation.

Planet earth is currently a very chaotic environment that presents numerous challenges for the ascended masters. We are faced with a very complex web of karmic relationships, and in all this chaos we are always seeking for the best way for any lifestream to grow. Before a lifestream comes into embodiment, the lifestream and its spiritual teachers create a blueprint for how the lifestream can make maximum use of its opportunity. This can include that the lifestream is to give birth to a certain number of children and that this should ideally happen at certain times.

Yet we of the ascended masters realize fully that once the lifestream is in embodiment, there are numerous factors that can interfere with the lifestream’s blueprint for that lifetime. A woman might have decided to have a certain number of children before coming into embodiment, but things can happen that can cause the woman to change her mind. This is allowed according to the Law of Free Will. Things can also happen to make it impossible for the woman to have children or to raise them in a reasonable environment. So we of the ascended masters understand that circumstances can make it impossible or difficult for a woman to give birth to the number of children she planned ahead of time.

What I am saying here is that you should not allow yourself to think that if you abort a lifestream or if you decide not to have children, the lifestream of the unborn child has no other way to come into embodiment. Because of the treacherous conditions found on earth, the ascended masters have become experts in finding alternative ways for a given lifestream to come into embodiment.

It is quite possible that a woman who has an abortion and then has a child within a few years can actually give birth to the aborted lifestream. However, it is also possible that that lifestream can find another opportunity to come into embodiment. In other words, a lifestream will always look for the next opportunity to move on with its divine plan. When a suitable opportunity arises, the lifestream will take that opportunity.

Please use my teachings to overcome your sense of sorrow and regret. You made an imperfect decision, but you have now admitted the imperfect choice and learned from your mistake. The next thing you can do is to use spiritual tools to call for the consuming of the negative consequences of your decision. You can use the Violet Flame and Mother Mary’s rosaries to call for the consuming of the burdens to the lifestreams you aborted. You can call for the consuming of all karma that you have made for that decision and all karma between yourself and the aborted lifestreams. It is safe to assume that any woman who has an abortion (an any man involved with that decision) will have karma from past lives with the lifestream of the aborted child. Therefore, the best you can do for yourself and the lifestream of the child is to make diligent calls for the consuming of that karma.

My point here is that in any situation where people make a mistake, God wants you to learn from your mistake, accept his forgiveness, forgive yourself and all other people involved and then move on with your spiritual path towards Christhood. I want you to move on, and so does every member of the ascended masters. Your Christ self wants you to move on and so do the lifestreams of the children you aborted. Therefore, if everyone wants you to move on, then please allow your outer mind to accept God’s forgiveness so that you can move on and overcome this burden.

I came that all might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. I desire to give you the gift of the abundant life. Will you accept my gift? If you will, then accept your wholeness and go and sin no more.

Overcoming the guilt of abortion—or any other mistake

TOPICS: Accept that God’s love is unconditional – you are already forgiven – forgive yourself – dark forces seek to cause people to make mistakes – serpentine lies make it seem justified to violate God’s laws – many women feel guilt after an abortion – defending your decision keeps you in separation – dark forces seek to create guilt that makes you feel you can never be free from your mistake – no matter what mistake you have made, God only wants you to be free of it – there is no mistake you could make that cannot be erased – everything is an experiment – if an experiment does not turn out well, learn from it and move on – ideal way to deal with any mistake – you are the rope in a tug-of-war between dark forces and the ascended masters – let the masters win –

Question: God bless you. I have been following the teachings of Joel Goldsmith that lead me back to finding my true being – it has been a blessing and brought me some peace. However, in my youth, I did have an abortion. I have prayed about it often, but I still feel a tremendous amount of guilt about that decision. How will I ever be forgiven and forgive myself for that decision? Is there anything more I can do to repent?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

My beloved heart, thank you for giving me the opportunity to comment on how anyone can overcome the guilt for having made any kind of mistake. The following teaching will apply to any human being and any type of mistake.

There is indeed one more thing you can do. It is to accept that God loves you with a love that is unconditional, and therefore he has already forgiven you!

What stands in the way of you experiencing that forgiveness is your own lack of acceptance of God’s forgiveness. Therefore the one thing you can do is to accept that God has forgiven you and I, Jesus Christ, have forgiven you. Therefore, what is left is that you need to forgive yourself.

I realize that telling people to forgive themselves is almost like telling a blind man to open his eyes and see. Yet the truth shall make you free, so let me give you some thoughts to ponder that might indeed help you forgive yourself.

If you will read my beloved mother’s discourse, you will see that she explains that there is a force in this world that is consumed by a desire to prove God wrong, to prove that God made a mistake when he gave human beings free will. This force, which is actually a state of consciousness, will do anything possible to cause people to misuse their free will, so that they separate themselves out from God.

You see, when God gave lifestreams free will, he had to give them the opportunity to violate his laws—otherwise they would not truly have free will. By giving them this opportunity, God was hoping that, as lifestreams experimented with their free will, they would gradually come to the realization that it was in their own best interest, and indeed it was their highest love, to help co-create the universe within the framework of God’s overall vision and plan. Indeed, God was hoping that, after sending lifestreams into the world of form, they would, of their own free will, choose to build a sense of oneness with God.

So the foremost goal of the forces who are working against God’s plan is to cause people to separate themselves out from God and to become stuck in a state of consciousness in which they see themselves as separated from God. This then has caused these forces to set up numerous traps on planet earth. These traps have the overall purpose of causing people to see themselves as separated from God.

A great number of these traps have the purpose of causing people to violate God’s laws. This is done by creating an almost unlimited number of serpentine lies that make it seem like it is necessary, justified or acceptable to violate God’s laws. It is precisely this state of consciousness that is the hidden force behind the legalization of abortion. The idea is to create a mindset which entices women to believe that they have a right to decide their own destiny and that, in order to decide for themselves, it is acceptable to take the life of the unborn child. As I have explained in my discourse on abortion, it is indeed acceptable for women to decide their own destiny but not to the extent that they take the life of the unborn child.

One of the many subtle arguments used by the forces who seek to trap people it is that an unborn child is nothing but a blob of tissue. Yet, as you can personally witness, many of the women who have had an abortion have experienced various levels of grief, remorse and a sense of loss. This very fact should prove beyond any doubt that an unborn child is not a blob of tissue, and that is why a sensitive woman will know that her abortion took away the opportunity for a lifestream to come into embodiment.

Can you see the subtle plot here? Even though there are many dark intentions involved in the abortion issue, the overall intention is to fool women into taking the life of an unborn child out of ignorance or insensitivity. So let us now consider what happens to a woman who has had an abortion. There are two basic reactions.

I can assure you that every woman who has an abortion will experience a moment of truth in which she realizes that she made a mistake. There are, however, many women who barely notice this moment of truth or who push it aside so quickly that they claim they cannot even remember it. Yet I can assure you that some honest soul-searching would reveal to any woman that she did have a moment of truth before or after having an abortion. This is the same for any mistake that a person could possibly make. There is always a moment of truth.

When a woman denies the moment of truth, she can do so only by adopting a mindset of insensitivity to life. She can do so only by denying her connection to the unborn child in her womb. She can deny this connection only by denying her connection to all life, and especially to the divine mother herself. So my point is that by denying her connection to life, a woman has set herself apart from God. She thinks she is separated from God, and therefore she is separated from all life. That is why she can deny the idea that an abortion takes life.

When a woman adopts this reaction, the dark forces have won because she has separated herself out from God. And in many cases a woman will go to great length to defend her decision to have the abortion and thereby cement a sense of being separated from God. She might even go to great length to try to convince other people that an abortion is okay, and thereby cause such people to also see themselves as separated from God. She is simply perpetuating the serpentine lie that caused her to make the mistake in the first place.

Now let us look at the second scenario, namely that of a woman who chooses to acknowledge and admit the moment of truth. This woman realizes and admits that she made a mistake, which gives her the opportunity to become free of the serpentine lie and the dark forces. Obviously, a woman can make this decision only if she acknowledges a certain connection to life. By acknowledging this connection, the woman is also acknowledging her connection to God. Obviously, this is the exact opposite of what the dark forces want. However, this does not mean that they have lost the battle for the woman’s lifestream. It only means that the dark forces now go to Plan B.

The primary plan of the dark forces is to get people to deny their connection to God and thereby deny that they ever made a mistake. If the dark forces cannot prevent people from acknowledging that they made a mistake, they will use the next plot in their strategy. That plot is to give the person such a sense of guilt, such a sense of being a sinner, that the person feels that he or she can never again make things right with God.

When it comes to a woman having an abortion, the dark forces will project into your mind and emotional body the thought and feeling that you have committed such a grave mistake that you could never, ever make up for it. They will do this in a deliberate attempt to make you feel that you can never again be acceptable in the eyes of God, thereby causing you to separate yourself out from God by feeling that you are unworthy to be connected to God. In other words, they are trying to make sure that even though you have admitted making a mistake, you will never be free of that mistake.

Do you see what I am saying here? The first plan is to make people commit a mistake and deny that they made a mistake. Thereby, people will never be free of the mistake, in the sense that they are trapped in the consciousness that caused them to make the mistake. If that plan doesn’t work, because people do admit that they made a mistake, the dark forces will attempt to make sure that you feel such guilt over having made a mistake that you still will not be free of the mistake. They will do this by making you feel that you could never be redeemed for that mistake. In other words, the plot here is to trick you into making a mistake by violating God’s laws and then try to trick you into never being free of the mistake or the consciousness, the serpentine lie, behind it.

Do you see how subtle and how sinister this plot is? Do you see that billions of people have been tricked by this plot and its numerous variations? Can you see that this was never God’s plan when he gave his sons and daughters free will?

God has no desire to see you lost in a state of consciousness in which you deny your oneness with him. He has only one desire and that is to see you recognize the fullness of who you are as a son or daughter of God who has the potential to be one with God, to be a co-creator with God and to be God in this material universe. So God never desired you to fall into a lower state of consciousness in which you see yourself as separated from God. Therefore, once you have fallen into this lower state of consciousness, God has only one desire and that is to see you rise out of that state of consciousness and accept your true identity as a son or daughter who is blameless before God.

You see, when God gave you free will, he gave you the right to experiment within the framework of the natural laws that are upholding the universe. As I explain throughout this website, everything in this world is made from energy. Energy is a form of vibration, and vibration can be easily changed. The material universe is literally like a cosmic sandbox, in which you have a right to build any castle you like. Some castles will not be the best possible. However, you have not changed the sand; you have simply given it an undesirable form. To erase your mistake, just break down the castle and begin to build a better one.

When you make an imperfect choice and violate God’s law, you are lowering the vibration of a portion of God’s energy. You do this through the power of your mind. Yet the very fact that your mind has the power to lower the vibration of God’s energy should prove to you that your mind also has the power to raise the vibration of God’s energy.

In other words, there is no mistake you could possibly make in this universe that could not be erased completely. A mistake is simply misqualified energy, and once you raise the vibration of that energy, your mistake is erased permanently. Do you understand what I am saying here? I am literally saying that it is not possible for a human being to make a mistake that is permanent. Anything you do in this temporary universe will be a temporary manifestation, and therefore it can be erased.

If you make a mistake, God does not want you to feel guilty over having made a mistake. God wants you to recognize and admit that you made a mistake and then learn the lesson of how to make better choices in the future. This means that you must learn to see through and forsake the serpentine lie that caused you to make the mistake.

Once you have learned that lesson and truly forsaken the belief or consciousness that caused you to make the mistake, there is no constructive purpose for feeling guilty over having made a mistake. God gave you free will. God gave you the right to experiment with that free will, even to the point of violating the laws of nature. God did this because he wanted you to have the opportunity to learn that following God’s law is in your own best interest and is in fact what your lifestream loves to do. So God does not want you to feel guilty after making a mistake. God simply wants you to move on and learn your lesson from making a mistake so that you can come up higher in consciousness.

The dark forces are attempting to trap you in a state of consciousness that causes you to see yourself a separate from God. As one way to do this, they have created the entire consciousness of sin and guilt. The consciousness that you could never be redeemed for having made a mistake or committed a sin did not come from God, and it is distinctly anti-Christ in nature. One of the most important messages behind my coming to earth was that human beings can be redeemed and can be completely free from any mistakes they have made here on earth. You can be so free from these mistakes as if the mistakes had never happened. Unfortunately, many people have fallen prey to the serpentine consciousness, and therefore they think they could never truly be redeemed. This then prevents them from truly accepting God’s forgiveness.

Once again, the subtleness of the dark forces is very tricky. If they cannot ensnare you one way, they will seek to ensnare you the other way. So what I am saying here does not mean that people should take it lightly when they make a mistake or simply push it aside as being unimportant. If you do so, you will make more mistakes and therefore become more entrenched in the consciousness that causes you to make mistakes. This consciousness also causes you to lose contact with your spiritual self. So everybody needs to be alert to the fact that there are right choices and not so right choices.

When you make a choice that violates the laws of God, you are actually hurting yourself. If people truly understand what they are doing, no one will deliberately hurt themselves. It simply isn’t possible to hurt yourself if you truly know what you are doing. That is why people need to be alert, and they need to evaluate all their choices. They need to constantly seek to expand their understanding–with all thy getting, get understanding–so that they can realize intuitively when they have made an imperfect choice.

Let me sketch the ideal scenario for dealing with a mistake. Whenever you make an imperfect choice, there will always be a moment of truth. Be alert and acknowledge that you made a mistake, and seek to gain the best possible understanding of how and why it was a mistake. Learn to see through the serpentine lie behind your mistake. Then decide not to repeat the mistake. Ideally, you should decide to leave behind the consciousness, the lie, that caused you to make that mistake.

When you do this, every mistake you make becomes as stepping stone that brings you closer to Christ consciousness. This is what God wants to see happen for you. This is what I want to see happen for you. I realize that most people have descended into a lower state of consciousness and that they need to follow a gradual path that leads them to the full Christ consciousness. Therefore, I have a great desire to see people adopt the right attitude, whereby each mistake they make brings them closer to Christ consciousness. In that way, you can only win, and the dark forces have no hold over you. The prince of this world will come and have nothing in you.

So many people have misunderstood that saying of mine. It does not mean that you have to be perfect or have attained full Christ consciousness before the devil will have nothing in you. It means that you need to adopt the attitude that you are willing to learn from your mistakes and forsake the serpentine lie, the lower consciousness, that is the source of all mistakes. You are willing to acknowledge your mistakes without feeling guilty for having made a mistake. You simply learn from the mistake and immediately move higher on your spiritual path. You let a part of your human self die every day, as Paul said. You put off the old human, the dualistic mind, and put on the Christ mind. When you have this attitude, the devil will have nothing in you whereby he can use your mistake to trick you. You might still have some serpentine beliefs left that will cause you to make mistakes, but those mistakes become stepping stones to progress.

Do you see the important point here? I am not saying that it is right to have an abortion. I am saying it is a mistake to have an abortion, but it is not a mistake from which you can never escape. You can indeed become free, and the first step is to a acknowledge that you made a mistake. The second step is to truly forsake the consciousness that caused you to make the mistake. You truly forsake the wrong belief, the serpentine lie, that caused you to make the mistake. Once you have seen through and forsaken the lie, you must know that, at that very moment, your mistake has already been forgiven by God. This understanding brings you to the next step, where you need to make a conscious decision to accept God’s forgiveness and to simply move on without holding yourself back with a sense of guilt.

After having gone through this inner transformation, you then need to recognize that certain mistakes have consequences that reach beyond your own psyche. If the mistakes affected other parts of life, you will have created a karma in the form of misqualified energy. For you to be truly free of the mistake, the consequences of your actions need to be neutralized. In other words, having an abortion has consequences for the lifestream that could have come into embodiment as a result of the pregnancy. You can compensate for this in various ways, as I explained in my discourse on abortion.

It can take time before you have neutralized the negative consequences, and a sensitive woman will know intuitively that she has not yet paid back her debt to life for having an abortion. This might cause you to hang on to a sense of guilt even though it is not needed. As I tried to explain, there is no need to feel guilty once you have abandoned the consciousness, the serpentine lie, that caused you to make a mistake.

Once you have done so, you need to allow yourself to feel free of guilt. If you are not free of guilt, it shows you that you are being attacked by dark forces who are projecting this guilt into a your mind and emotional body. If you study my discourse on the levels of the material universe, you will see that there is much perversion in the emotional body of humankind. Therefore, it is very easy for the dark forces to use your mistakes to project the feelings of guilt into your emotional body.

My advice to you, and to all other people who have made a mistake for which they think there is no escape, is to contemplate the things I have said here. I strongly advise you to use the tools for spiritual protection to call for your mind and emotional body to be sealed from all dark forces and their projections of guilt, fear and other negative emotions. I advise you to use my call for the judgment of such dark forces, and you should call to Archangel Michael to bind and consume the dark forces attacking you personally. I also advise you to use the violet flame to consume all karma and all misqualified energy resulting from the mistake.

Finally, I advise you to use the technique for inner attunement to gain a deeper understanding of the serpentine lie that caused you to make the mistake. You can also use this technique to give your sense of guilt to me. Simply visualize that you enter the garden and sit down across from me. Then visualize that you take your sense of guilt, or other negative emotions, and cram them into a tight ball. Now visualize that you take that ball and throw it into my Sacred Heart, where it is instantly consumed by my unconditional and infinite love. Give this exercise once a day until you feel that you are free of the guilt. I can also assure you that giving Mother Mary’s many invocations,  is an efficient way to balance karma and to transform negative energy, including the energy of guilt.

As a closing thought, always keep in mind that you live in a world that is a battleground between two opposing forces. Your lifestream is the rope between two teams who are engaged in a tug of war. On one side of the rope, you have all of the dark forces out of death and hell, who are pulling on your lifestream to prevent you from growing. On the other side, you have the entire ascended masters, who are pulling on your lifestream to come up higher and grow.

However, unlike a normal tug of war, there is no question that one team is infinitely stronger than the other team. We of the ascended masters have the power to pull you up at any moment. The problem is that we have a handicap that often neutralizes our strength. That handicap is the decisions you make as to how you see yourself. If you fall prey to a serpentine lie, such as the lie that you are a miserable sinner who should feel guilty forever for any mistake you ever made, then you will give the other team an unfair advantage that will allow them to pull you down.

So simply decide to learn how to see through the serpentine lies and allow your brothers and sisters of the ascended masters to pull you up higher. Did I not say that if I be lifted up, I would draw all humans unto me? Do you think I was just kidding? I have the power to pull you up to our Father’s kingdom if only you will let me. Simply let go of the guilt that is keeping you tied to the consciousness of hell.

How to discern, whether an issue is from my own psychology or from the mass consciousness?

TOPICS: Any psychological issue has two components: personal and the mass consciousness – the intensity is not yours – don’t identify with the issue – you took it on to help others – demonstrate how to transcend the issue –

Question: Is there a way of discerning whether an issue you are experiencing and have to transcend is truly within your own psychology, or is something from the mass consciousness you volunteered to take on?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Well, the simple answer is that any issue you are dealing with has two components. There is a component in your own psychology – there always will be – because if you did not have some aspect of the condition in your own being, you would not be able to take it on from the mass consciousness. So when you have any issue you are dealing with, you should always apply the technique of looking for the beam in your own eye.

But what we have attempted to help you see is that many of you who are spiritual people have taken on something from the mass consciousness. Now, be careful and listen to what I am saying.

You do have to recognize that you have an element of this particular issue in your own consciousness, but what you have to recognize is that the intensity of the energy you are dealing with is not your own. In other words, if you are dealing with anger, it is not that you in this or past lifetimes have created this intensity of anger that you might be feeling—or fear, or whatever it might be. So the intensity of what you are dealing with is what comes from the mass consciousness. And when you recognize this, you can somewhat distance yourself from the intensity so you are no longer so overwhelmed by it or so identified with it. And this should make it easier to deal with the energy – whatever it might be – because you have distanced yourself from it.

Yet you should also acknowledge that if you have taken on a certain issue, it is because there is some element of it still left in your being. And so you need to work on that and get to the point where you resolve it. For you see, what is the purpose of taking something on from the mass consciousness? It is not simply that you carry it in order to lighten the load of other people. For you see, if you did so only to set them free, well then they would simply eat, drink and be merry—now that they did not have the load to carry. So the other aspect of it, the Alpha aspect so to speak, is that you demonstrate how to process that issue in your own consciousness—how to rise above it, how to free yourself from the illusion behind it.

And whether you simply demonstrate this to people who know you, or whether you eventually come to the point of speaking this out and teaching it to a bigger audience, well that will depend on your individual divine plan and also to some degree on your choosing.

What you see is that there are really both things going on here—that you cannot take on something if you do not have an element of it; but that you do not need to identify yourself with the intensity of the energy. So you do not need to feel that if I have this amount of fear or anger, I must have been a really bad person in past lives. This is completely unnecessary, and you should all strive to free yourself from this burden by shifting your perspective or by giving decrees and invocations as necessary to transform the energy until you have lightened the load so much that you can shift your perspective.

For I know well that many people are so burdened by the energy itself that it does no good to tell them, “Oh, just look at it a different way and you won’t feel it.” For they cannot look at it a different way as long as they are so overwhelmed by the energy; which is why we have given you tools – including the spiritual crisis toolkit – to help people deal with the energy, to lighten the load so they can indeed raise their vision and thereby shift their perception.

The use of drugs for the treatment of psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder

TOPICS: Drugs numb the mind so the person doesn’t have to look for cause – can make disease worse – drug industry driven by profit motive and greed – do not want to cure disease – attitude of looking for quick-fix – disease is a message to change your lifestyle – do not take black-and-white approach – health care industry will be transformed – holistic approach – in severe cases drugs can be necessary –

Question: Dear Jesus, I have a question regarding the use of drugs for the treatment of psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADD, etc. Do these drugs have a negative impact on a lifestream’s growth, meaning do they keep a lifestream from truly resolving one’s psychological problems by dulling the symptoms? What can one do to overcome these conditions without relying on man-made drugs? I have a specific interest on this because I am starting out in the field of pharmaceutical drug discovery and have begun to question the validity of giving these types of drugs to people, even young children (especially since most of the time drugs are released to the public without their real long-term side effects being known).

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

You are correct that in many cases the use of drugs to treat psychological conditions can have the effect of hindering or preventing the lifestream’s spiritual growth. Many drugs simply numb the mind so that the person no longer feels the symptoms. Therefore, the person has no incentive to discover the psychological cause behind these symptoms. Consequently, a person can live with a psychological problem for a lifetime without ever making an effort to truly resolve it and therefore grow spiritually.

It is necessary to question the use of such drugs, and I am sure you are aware that recent scientific studies have shown that when children are treated with certain drugs, they tend to become suicidal or even more depressed than before the treatment. In some cases, the cure is worse than the disease.

I can assure you that there is much that is out of balance in the modern pharmaceutical industry. Many large drug companies are driven by a profit motive that springs from greed. Although these people have a typical business attitude of maximizing profit, they never stop to question whether it is appropriate to profit from people’s illnesses. And in their eagerness to make a profit, such companies actually do not want to truly cure disease, be it physical or psychological. After all, no person who is driven by greed would want to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Nevertheless, the approach to health care taken in many western nations is not exclusively driven by the pharmaceutical industry or greed. It is also fueled by an attitude that people are supposed to be able to live however they want. When their lifestyles lead to unpleasant symptoms, be they physical or psychological, we need to find a drug or some surgical quick-fix that can remove the symptoms without requiring the person to change his or her lifestyle.

This is a completely backward approach to health care. Both physical diseases and psychological diseases are messages sent by the lifestream to the outer mind. The essence of the message is always that the person needs to change his or her lifestyle and approach to life. If a person is willing to do so, genuine spiritual growth will be the result. If the person is not willing to change, and seeks to remove or mask the symptoms, then the person will become more entrenched in the lower state of consciousness, and this will only create worse symptoms in the future.

I can assure you that this approach to life and health simply is not sustainable. Over the next decades, it will surely change, and you can already see the beginning of this change in terms of the growing interest in natural remedies. I greatly encourage the interest in most forms of alternative or holistic healing, including many of the new therapies that are being embraced by so many people that are New Age or on the cutting edge of traditional religions.

However, I do not encourage people to take a black-and-white approach to this issue. There is indeed much of value in modern medicine, and even though changes will happen in the coming decades, many of the advancements of modern medicine will endure. I foresee that in the coming decades the entire health care industry will go through a transformation that will refocus it on preventing disease and finding a true cure instead of simply masking the symptoms. Finding a cure, even for physical diseases, must involve a holistic approach that seeks to heal the person’s psyche or lifestream. This will inevitably require a change in the persons approach to life and his or her lifestyle.

I also want to say that even though there are many cases in which drugs simply mask the symptoms and prevent the person from growing spiritually, there are also many exceptions. There are severe cases in which a person simply would not be able to recover through psychological healing alone. When the psychological ailment has gone beyond a certain point, the person will need relief from the symptoms in order to be able to deal with the underlying cause. It can therefore be valid to use certain drugs as a treatment in order to bring the symptoms down to a level that enables the person to go into the deeper causes behind the symptoms. Yet this should be a temporary remedy that should be followed up with psychological healing.

In terms of whether spiritually minded people should choose a career such as the one you mention, this should not be decided by the outer mind, and it should not be decided based on a black-and-white approach. I know there are many spiritual people who reject all of modern medicine, but I do not encourage this extreme approach. So therefore, I encourage you to seek to gain insights from your Christ self as to what is the right career for you.

There is indeed a need for people in the medical field who are spiritually minded and open to receiving directions from their Christ selves and the ascended masters. So you might consider whether your education can give you the opportunity to work for other companies than big multinational drug companies. Could you work for research institutions, nonprofit organizations or universities?

In terms of how you can heal psychological diseases, I have already spoken on this elsewhere in this section. I recommend that you begin by reading my discourse on schizophrenia.

You don’t need to suffer in order to be forgiven by God

TOPICS: You don’t need to be forgiven by God – accepting that you are forgiven – psychological value of admitting mistakes – you do not need to suffer in order to be forgiven – you know when you have an imbalance – let go of guilt –

Question: Regarding forgiveness, is it necessary for one to turn to God for forgiveness? I know that in my personal relationships I seek to forgive those who have hurt me even if they never ask for forgiveness, so that I can cleanse my heart of all unforgiveness. So it would seem that God’s unconditional Love forgives us even before we ask. So, in regard to your answer to the question about the unforgivable sin, it would seem that it is man who keeps himself in an unforgivable state by not reaching up to a higher state of consciousness, but God’s Love is always there waiting for us to turn to Him. Is this a correct understanding?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

You have understood the essence of forgiveness, and you have expressed it eloquently. God’s love is unconditional, and therefore God’s forgiveness is instantaneous. You do not have to ask for it, for it rains upon the just and the unjust.

In a sense, you never need to be forgiven by God; you only need to accept that you are forgiven by God. The problem is that until you forsake the consciousness that caused you to commit wrong actions, you will not be able to accept God’s forgiveness.

So one might say that the process of saving a lifestream is a process of helping that lifestream to rise above the consciousness that causes it to misqualify God’s energy. And as it rises above that consciousness, the last step is that the lifestream accepts God’s forgiveness for any of its former actions, so that it can fully accept that it is free from the past. However, what will it take for a lifestream to accept that forgiveness? Many lifestreams do feel that they need to turn to God and ask for forgiveness, and doing so is perfectly valid.

By asking for God’s forgiveness, the lifestream admits its wrong actions. Obviously, this is not done for God’s sake, because the lifestream can never hide its actions from God. So the value here is psychological. By admitting its actions before God, the lifestream is admitting to itself that the actions were wrong. And this is the primary step the lifestream must take to separate itself from the consciousness that caused it to commit those actions. Unfortunately, admitting that you have sinned can give rise to guilt that can block your ability to accept God’s forgiveness.

The problem on earth is that there are so many serpentine lies that cause people to believe that it is difficult or impossible for them to overcome the past. These range from the belief that God is an angry and judgmental God, over the belief that some sins are unforgivable, to the belief that in order to be free of your sins, you need to go through a certain amount of pain and suffering.

Many people believe that if you have caused pain to another human being, your experience of pain will somehow make up for it, as if two wrongs could make a right. Throughout the ages, the psychological mechanism that people feel they have to pay back their sins through suffering has given rise to a number of religious teachings and rituals. These were given by the ascended masters for the purpose of helping people trick their minds into accepting God’s forgiveness and thereby becoming free of their past.

Unfortunately, people are quick to build on to such teachings and to create their own doctrines and rituals that are often quite bizarre. One example is the concept that inflicting bodily pain upon yourself will somehow make up for your sins. Another is that inflicting emotional pain upon yourself will make up for your sins. The simple truth is that both of these actions will misqualify God’s energy, and how can you make up for the fact that you misqualified energy in the past by misqualifying more energy in the present? Misqualified energy does not cancel out misqualified energy—only spiritual energy can cancel out lower energy.

There is, however, as subtle mechanism which makes the sensitive lifestream aware that it has created an imbalance in the universe. Even though many Christians do not understand the concept of karma, or misqualified energy, they sense that they have sinned, and their lifestreams feel that until they have restored the balance of the universe, they are not free of their sins. I realize that most Christians are not consciously aware of the concept of karma, but nevertheless this is one of the reasons why people have trouble forgiving themselves.

Many spiritual seekers have a deep desire to set things right with God and restore the balance of the universe. Therefore, they intuitively feel that they have not yet balanced all of their karma, and therefore they are not free of the past. While this intuitive feeling is a sign of spiritual maturity, the many wrong beliefs about sin that are floating around in this world often cause spiritual seekers to feel that until they have reestablished balance, they should continue to feel guilty for their mistakes.

As I explained in the beginning, this simply is not necessary. If you have forsaken the consciousness that caused you to commit a certain mistake, then you no longer need to feel guilty for having made that mistake. What purpose could it possibly serve that you go around feeling guilty for something that is behind you? It will only keep you tied to that state of consciousness and prevent you for completely letting go of it.

My point here being that when you truly understand forgiveness, you realize that balancing your karma is a mechanical process. As long as you keep making payments, would you feel guilty for owing money to the bank? Likewise, as long as you keep working on balancing your karma, there is no reason to feel guilty for having made that karma, at least not when you have overcome the consciousness that caused you to make those mistakes.

I understand that some lifestreams feel the need to retain their sense of guilt until the karma is fully paid back, feeling that it will spur them on to move faster. Yet it is always my hope that the more mature lifestreams can see that this really is not necessary. I hope all spiritual seekers can accept God’s forgiveness and their own freedom from all sense of being a sinner or being unworthy in the eyes of God.

Forgiveness is the highest form of self-interest

TOPICS: By forgiving, you are setting yourself free – understanding the law that you reap what you sow – let go of the need to punish others – God does not need your help in holding other people accountable – by not forgiving, you tie yourself to the other person – seek healing of psychological wounds – outcome of healing is forgiveness – active forgiveness –

Question: What are your thoughts on Forgiveness. Can we forgive others? or is forgiveness only meant to be directed at ourselves, being that the only sin is a perception of fear rather than love.

Forgiveness is still
and quietly does nothing
it merely looks
and waits
and judges not.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Forgiveness is one of the most misunderstood concepts. The true meaning of forgiveness is to “set free,” yet most people simply do not understand who they are sitting free when they forgive. They think that by forgiving someone who has harmed them, they are somehow setting that person free from responsibility or letting them off the hook. This simply is not correct.

In the Bible you find the statement:

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord (Romans 12:19).

This simple statement refers to a cosmic law which is only partially explained in the Bible. In eastern religions this law is called the law of Karma, and by science it is known as the law of action and reaction. As I explain throughout this website, everything you do is done with God’s energy. When you harm another person, you are misqualifying a certain amount of God’s energy. God has created an impersonal law which insures that any impulse of misqualified energy you have ever sent into the universe will be returned to your lifestream. In other words, no lifestream can ever escape the consequences of its actions. Most Christians do not understand the ramifications of this law, and the main reason is that my teachings about karma and reincarnation were deliberately removed from Christianity.

This is one of the main reasons why even many Christians cannot fully forgive those who have harmed them—even though I told people to forgive seventy times seven. They simply cannot let go of the need to punish others or hold them accountable, and the reason is that they do not understand how God can repay other people. Most people have observed that some people commit atrocities and yet die without seemingly having been punished for it. The explanation is, of course, that you will not always have the return of the misqualified energy, your karma, in the current lifetime. Yet you will inevitably experience a return of that energy. God’s impersonal law, will repay.

When you understand the impersonal law of karma, you see that God is not an angry and judgmental God who is looking at every action you commit, seeking to punish you by sending you to Hell. If Christians truly understood the cosmic law that no one can escape the consequences of their actions, they might make great strides in terms of overcoming their erroneous and idolatrous image of an angry God.

Equally important, they could also make great strides in terms of overcoming the idolatrous concepts about forgiveness. When you realize how the law of God works, you see that you have absolutely no need whatsoever to punish another human being or to somehow hold them responsible. In other words, many people feel that by holding a grudge against another human being, they are supposedly helping to hold that person accountable for his or her actions. When you understand God’s law, you see this is completely unnecessary. God is perfectly capable of holding another lifestream accountable for its actions, and God does not need your assistance in terms of doing this.

A separate issue is the obligation to protect other people from those who repeatedly commit wrong actions, and I have spoken about this in more detail elsewhere.

My point here is that if you believe that God is incapable of holding another lifestream responsible, and therefore you need to hold a grudge or even take action to punish the other person, then you are actually assuming that you know better than God or that you are somehow acting as God’s avenging angel. These beliefs are erroneous and dangerous for your spiritual growth.

The simple fact is that when you hold a negative image or negative feelings toward another, you are creating a bond of energy between you. If you think about this logically, you might ask yourself why a rational person would want to create a bond of energy between himself and a person who has harmed him? Obviously, no enlightened person would want to do this. You would want to be completely free of the other person so that you can move on with your life in a positive direction. The key to your own freedom is to completely forgive the other person. My point is that in forgiving another, you are actually setting yourself free.

I am well aware that some people have been so severely hurt by another that they have fragmented their soul vehicles or have scars in their psychology. As I explained in other sections, such wounds in the lifestream or such emotional scars simply cannot be healed in an instant. So I am not hereby saying that every human being who has been hurt by another should be able to instantly forgive that person.

If you have been severely hurt, you should use appropriate tools to either heal your lifestream or your emotional body from all wounds. What I am pointing out is that as this healing process advances, there will come a point when no further healing is possible until you completely forgive the other person. One might say that total forgiveness is the ultimate outcome of the healing process. Yet for those who are able to (partially) forgive from the very beginning, it can also be the best possible beginning of the healing process.

So in short, if you are truly concerned about your spiritual progress, then you should indeed forgive others. You should also forgive yourself and you should forgive your God for any harm ever committed against you, either by God or by religious institutions or people in the name of God.

You say that “the only sin is a perception of fear rather than love.” You are on the right track with this statement, but I would prefer to say that the only sin is a sense of separation from your source, a sense of separation from love. It is the sense of separation that gives rise to fear, and from that fear springs all sins.

Your poem is beautiful, but forgiveness also has an active side. You cannot simply wait for forgiveness to happen as if by magic. You should set the stage for forgiveness to happen by healing your wounds and by raising your understanding. Keep seeking understanding until you receive the intuitive insight that, in a flash, makes you realize that forgiveness is truly the highest form of self-interest. You suddenly see that by forgiving everyone and everything, you are setting yourself see from the bonds that are keeping you trapped in a self-created prison in your mind and in a material prison on planet earth.

How to heal your energy field after a traumatic experience

TOPICS: Your energy field can be hurt – take time for emotional healing – spiritual R & R – set aside time for healing – a healing ritual – do not stress about it –

Question: I have recently gone through some rough times, but I feel it has assisted me on my path of spiritual growth. I am, however a bit drained and am finding it hard to feel connected to God when I pray and meditate. I try but all I see is black. What can one do to get that inner sense of peace and connection to God?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

You can begin by recognizing the reality of the situation, and the reality is that you have been wounded and need healing. I see so many people who get hurt emotionally, yet have no idea how to heal themselves. It is one of the great lacks in western culture that people are not brought up with an understanding of how to heal their energy fields and psychology. All of this will change in the coming decades, but that does little to help you now. So what you need to do is to recognize that as your body can get hurt, so can your energy field, meaning your mental and emotional bodies.

If you had broken a leg, there is no question that you would have to go to the hospital. You would also have to spend some time to let the leg heal before you could go on with your normal routine. The problem is that most people do not recognize that their energy fields can be hurt just as their bodies. And when your energy field is hurt, you need to break off from your daily routine, take care of yourself and heal your mental and emotional bodies just as you would heal the physical body. Yet most people think that if you get hurt emotionally, you should be able to carry on your daily responsibilities as if nothing had happened. If you break a leg, you do not expect that you can run a marathon until it is healed. Likewise, if you have severely damaged your energy field by going through a traumatic experience, you should not expect to go on with your daily activities without making an effort to heal yourself.

When you find it difficult to pray and meditate, or in other ways connect to God, it is because your energy field has been damaged. Your field is therefore open to negative energies from the outside, and they are streaming into your field and overpowering your thoughts and feelings, making it difficult to meditate or even pray. So you need to be very conscious of the fact that you need to take some time to heal your energy field, just as you would do if your body was hurt. What I would suggest is that you need some spiritual R & R, and with that I don’t mean rest and relaxation but rest and ritual.

If you had broken a leg, you would immediately make the decision that you had to set aside certain normal activities and do what was necessary to heal your leg. Therefore, to heal a psychological wound, you need to start by making a similar decision, namely that it is necessary to set aside some of your normal activities and heal yourself.

You will need rest to heal your energy field, but rest does not necessarily mean inactivity. If you break a leg, you do need to keep it still, but the inevitable side effect is that your muscles will become weak. To heal your energy field, you need to stop activities that cause you strain, such as certain parts of your daily routine, but you should not simply become inactive or passive.

I recommend that you set aside as many of your normal activities as you can, and then engage in a set ritual that you follow every day. If you were sick and had to take medicine, there would be no doubt in your mind that you would take that medicine twice a day as prescribed by the doctor. When it comes to healing your energy field, you need spiritual medicine. Therefore, you need to make a decision that you will engage in a specific spiritual ritual and that you will perform the ritual every day. You simply make a firm decision that you will perform a specific ritual and that you will keep doing so for a certain period of time, such as two or three weeks.

I realize that people feel exhausted after a traumatic experience, and the thought of performing a ritual can seem overwhelming. Yet in reality, your emotional body will welcome the ritual because a ritual will help reestablish the order and integrity of your energy field. After all, it was the chaos and irregularity of the negative experience that caused the trauma. So the key to healing is not to refrain from all activity. The key is to reestablish regularity, and a ritual is the best way to do this.

What can seem overwhelming is the thought of making decisions and having to perform the ritual daily. That is why I suggest approaching it as if the doctor had prescribed medicine for a physical illness. In that case, the decision is made out of necessity, and once a firm decision is made, there is no stress about it. You simply have to do it. In performing a spiritual ritual every day, you will build a positive spiral that will eventually heal your energy field and once again seal it from the negative energies that cause you to see darkness during the meditation.

When I say spiritual ritual, I do not mean a ritual that requires you to think or even concentrate. I am talking about a ritual that you can follow in an almost mechanical manner until you are healed and can once again start putting more heart into the ritual.

My suggestion would be to give the calls to Archangel Michael for the protection of your energy field against any negative energies or dark forces. I suggested you give this call for at least 15 minutes once a day at a certain time. I would also suggest that you spend 15 minutes giving calls to the Violet Flame. I also suggest 15 minutes of calls to the Elohim Astrea.

Simply decide to set a time every day when you know you can do it, and then repeat it every day. You can give the Violet Flame calls both after the calls to Michael and after the calls to Astrea.

If you have more time, I suggest using one of the many rosaries and invocations. There is surely one or more that will address your specific form of trauma. When you go through a traumatic experience, it is almost inevitable that fragments of your lifestream will split off and be separated from the whole. This leaves a vacuum that makes room for dark energies to enter your field. The East-West Invocation calls for the return of such fragments.

My point here is that you do not attempt to perform a ritual that requires any kind of thought or decisions on your part. You simply decide that you have been hurt and that you need to take this particular medicine once or twice a day. Then you perform the ritual without giving it any kind of thought, exactly as if you were required to take medicine to heal the body.

If you will perform such a ritual religiously, you will begin to see an improvement and you will again be able to feel connected to God. Let me also say that while you are going through this process of healing, you should not worry about feeling connected to God. If your energy field has been bruised or damaged, it will be very difficult for you to feel connected to God. Simply be unconcerned about this and perform the ritual until you spontaneously feel that your connection to God is coming back. If you do the ritual every day, your connection will come back. Yet if you start stressing about not feeling connected to God, you will only make the situation worse. That is why I recommend a ritual that you can follow mechanically until your energy field regains enough wholeness to reestablish the connection to God.

The spiritual cause of allergies

TOPICS: Allergy is individual – seek a balanced diet – allergies caused by psychological condition – allergy caused by trauma – fear makes you want to avoid something –

Question: I think this can be considered a general question, not personal. Is soy milk and products healthy foods, or are the phyto-estrogens problematic for little children? (My son and daughter drink rice milk and eat some soy because of food allergies.)

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

There are virtually no health-related questions that are general questions. Allergies are inherently individual conditions. While some children are allergic to soy products, others can eat them with no negative effects. This also holds true for cow’s milk and other dairy products, although this is not sufficiently recognized by the medical profession.

In general, let me say that rice is one of the least allergenic foods on the planet. However, in all matters of diet it is important to maintain balance and to avoid eating too much of one particular kind of food. I therefore recommend that you seek the advice of someone who can test your children to find out about their allergies to certain foods. This can be done not only by medical professionals but also by skilled practitioners of muscle testing.

Let me also say that contrary to present medical theories, allergies have their origin in psychological conditions. And without recognizing the reality of reincarnation, you simply cannot attain a correct understanding of allergies.

It is possible to develop an allergy towards just about anything in the material universe. An allergy usually begins with a traumatic experience that causes a lifestream to develop a fear of a particular substance or condition. If the trauma is strong enough, or if it is reinforced over several embodiments, it will manifest as a physical allergy in the lifestream’s next embodiment.

Fear is a repulsive emotion, so the lifestream will seek to get away from what it fears. When this manifests as an allergy, the body will reject whatever food or condition is associated with the fear of the original trauma. That is why the body will manifest physical symptoms. The symptoms are simply the body’s way of sending the message that it does not want to be exposed to a particular substance or condition.

Although you can take physical means to lessen the impact of the allergy, the only way to resolve the condition is to use proper psychological techniques to go deep within the psyche and resolve the original trauma. There are many examples of people who have gone through this inner healing and instantly overcome life-long allergies.

Spiritual cause and cure for depression

TOPICS: Walking the path means feeling unsatisfied by worldly pursuits – all is vanity – your desire to leave behind dualistic mind – cannot serve two masters – Jesus went through depression – doing something for others or a cause – your first task is to build up yourself – the second task is to serve others – becoming self-absorbed – only way out is to look beyond the self – find the point of love within you – you are needed –

Question: I thought i had conquered depression but it seems i haven’t. Now I in no way want to kill myself nor do i have cravings to smoke, do drugs or drink alcohol. I have simply become tired. I have become fed up with it all. I’m tired of the world. Many times i want nothing more to be blown out and become with the All. If God is an ocean and im a drop of it , i want back in. I know i have a task to complete before im allowed to go HOME for a rest, but i simply hate the fact that ill have to come back. So i was wondering if you could tell me what going on, If you know anything as to why im having a hard go at it. I don’t want sympathy or to be taken care of, i just would like to know my present strains that im going through. I’ve always had an urge to leave and just get away. you know like you went to the desert, i feel kind of drawn to the forest.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

My beloved brother, you are simply describing a process that most lifestreams go through as they reach the higher levels of the spiritual path. There comes a point where the lifestream begins to realize that it longs for more than the pleasures of this world. The lifestream truly begins to see the reality behind the following statements from the Bible:

Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. (Eccelsiastes 1:2)

I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. (Eccelsiastes 1:14)

I said in mine heart, Go to now, I will prove thee with mirth, therefore enjoy pleasure: and, behold, this also is vanity. (Eccelsiastes 2:1)

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labor that I had labored to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. (Eccelsiastes 2:11)

Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity. (Eccelsiastes 2:15)

Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit. (Eccelsiastes 2:17)

This is a state of consciousness that I described in the following statement:

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26)

As you ascend the spiritual path, the lifestream inevitably reaches the point of no return when it realizes that it can no longer live as an ordinary human being who is absorbed in the pleasures and the pains of the world. It wants to leave behind this world, but the underlying drive behind this feeling is that the lifestream wants to leave behind the lower consciousness of the dualistic mind. It is this consciousness that makes everything in this world seem like vanity. And truly, as long as a person is trapped in the dualistic mind, everything is vanity.

Therefore, there comes a point on the spiritual path when the lifestream begins to “hate” those parts of its life that are based on the dualistic mind, and it is at that point that the lifestream can truly reach for the Christ consciousness. As I said, the lifestream cannot serve two masters, so until it decides that it wants to leave behind the dualistic mind, it cannot be a true disciple of the Christ consciousness.

This state of consciousness is very common among lifestreams who have embodied on the earth for a long time. They look upon the various activities that are available on this planet, and their inner reaction is “Been there, done that.” They feel they have nothing more they want to do on this planet, and they long to move on out of the limitations that are inevitable in this world.

I can understand why many people feel this way because I went through this process myself 2,000 years ago. You will know that between my appearance in the Temple at the age of 12 and my appearance at the marriage in Cana, the New Testament says nothing about where I was and what I did. During those 17 “lost” years I did indeed go through a period of severe depression in which I battled the very consciousness you are describing.

What helped me escape this state of lifestream depression, and what has helped every other lifestream who has faced this problem, is that I eventually came to a point where I realized that even though there was nothing I personally wanted to do on this planet, there was much I could do for others. I could also help God bring his kingdom to earth.

You see my friend, as I described in another discourse, there comes a point where a lifestream can no longer learn unless it starts teaching others. As Mother Mary explains in her magnificent discourse, a lifestream can reach a point from where the only way to go further is to become the servant of all.

When a lifestream first descends to earth, that lifestream has a very self-centered task. It is the task of the lifestream to gather experiences and build a strong and firm sense of identity. In other words, the lifestream needs to be focused on itself, the lifestream needs to be self-centered, in order to build a firm sense of identity. There are indeed many lifestreams on earth who are fully absorbed in this task, and although they might seem self-centered or selfish, they are actually doing what they need to be doing, given their present stage of spiritual development.

Yet as a lifestream continues to grow, there comes a point where it has built a firm foundation, a firm sense of identity. One might say that the lifestream has filled in the matrix of the 4-fold vehicle, and it is now firmly anchored in its sense of identity. At that point, the lifestream really has no way to grow by continuing to focus on itself. Therefore, the lifestream can go in one of two directions:

  • • If the lifestream continues to focus on itself, it will inevitably sink into a sense of hopelessness, despair, a sense of having no purpose or meaning, and this will inevitably lead to depression. Many people, especially in the New Age field, have reached this point and they enter a seemingly endless spiral of a self-centered quest for the ultimate spiritual experience, causing them to continually take classes or engage in psychological healing. Yet despite all their efforts, they never experience personal fulfillment, and the reason is that they seek it in a self-centered way instead of going beyond the human self to the divine self—which is one with all life and therefore finds fulfillment in helping others.
  • • The other option is that the lifestream can transcend its limited sense of self and realize that no lifestream is an island. When you have built a strong sense of who you are as an individual lifestream, the next logical step is to build on that foundation and develop a strong sense of who you are in connection to God and in connection to the world in which you live. At that point, you can reach for the Christ consciousness, which eventually makes you see that God is in everything that was ever created. This gives you a strong sense of connection to other people and to the earth Mother.

It was precisely this growing sense of compassion that allowed me to personally escape the sense of having no purpose, the sense of depression. It was the sense of compassion that caused me to return to Israel and take on the role of being the representative of the Living Christ on earth. It was the sense of compassion that made me willing to go all the way and even give my life for the cause of awakening humankind to the reality of the Christ consciousness.

My beloved friend, you – and many other lifestreams like you – have come to a crossroads in the evolution of your lifestream. You can continue in your present state of self-centeredness and hopelessness, or you can do some serious self-searching and discover the point inside yourself where you made the decision that prevents you from going further. Once you discover that decision, you can replace it with the decision to reach for the Christ consciousness, to reach beyond your limited sense of self, your limited sense of identity, and see yourself as part of a larger whole.

If you will sincerely engage in this process, you can very quickly go through a complete turnaround in your life, and you will attain a very strong sense of compassion and purpose. You can then become one of the Christed beings that I talk about in the following discourse. You can play your part in bringing God’s kingdom to earth and raising humankind to a higher level of consciousness. My friend, is that not of worthy purpose?

Just look at how many people on this planet are spiritually impoverished and need those who can guide them without forcing them to enter a particular outer religion. If that doesn’t motivate you, then look at how many physical problems are waiting to be solved. There is no shortage of good causes that can engage you in the process of helping others, and I can assure you that working for a greater cause and helping others is the fastest – and often the only – cure for depression.

Please make the effort to find that point in your lifestream where you have a very strong love for God’s purpose. Then allow that love to consume all sense of meaninglessness. Allow that love to awaken you to who you truly are and why you chose to come to earth at this crucial hour. Allow that love to burn away all the dross of self-centeredness and depression that prevents you from being who you are.

I have need of you and people like you. People who feel they have done everything there is to do on this planet and are willing to set aside the pleasures of this world to work for a greater cause.

I have need of you. God has need of you. The planet has need of you. Other people have need of you. And you have a need to overcome your self-centeredness and help yourself move on by helping others. My friend, do you need any more motivation than that? Now let us be about our Father’s business!

Dealing with depression

TOPICS: Depression is an attack by dark forces – can become a downward spiral – overcome sense of being isolated – use spiritual tools – God often answers prayers through people – feeling stuck yet being unwilling to make changes – no shame to recognize you need help – you must be willing to make decisions and change yourself –

Question: Dear Jesus, You didn’t answer the last questions I sent you. I suppose you have your reasons but I am still upset. I will keep writing in the hopes that you say something. I am struggling with anxiety and depression. I am really struggling. You say we can’t expect God to save us but we have to do the work ourselves. I hate hearing that. This illness is beyond my abilities. I am scared. Is it so wrong to pray for a miracle in my life? Is it so wrong to ask God to really help me, to really make that difference that I need? Believe me, I have tried to help myself but when my thoughts and feelings are chaotic I can’t employ the techniques on your website. What do you say to people in my situation?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

My beloved friend, even though I am an unlimited spiritual being, my messenger is a human being just like you. He only has 24 hours each day and consequently cannot answer every question sent to this website, especially since I have given him many other assignments that must be fulfilled in a timely manner. Therefore, there is a backlog of questions for which he has not had the time to get my answers. You are not the only one who has had to wait for outer answers. Yet all have the option of listening for inner answers that are always available.

When you are struggling with depression, it is always an attack on your lifestream by dark forces. I have talked more about this in the answer to another question and you need to study my answers. However, the biggest problem with depression is that it can become a downward spiral that causes people to isolate themselves more and more, until they are completely overwhelmed by the situation. You need to make a sincere effort to break that downward spiral, and you can do so in two ways:

  • One way is that you reach out to other people, be it family, friends, a church community, social services or a trained professional. It is essential that you reach out to someone who can help you break free of the sense of being isolated. I am fully aware that interacting with other people can often be disappointing, especially when you are depressed. Nevertheless, you MUST reach out to someone!!! Writing to me is clearly a sign that your lifestream wants to reach out. God is perfectly willing to help you, but in many cases God’s help does not take the form of a miracle. God’s help comes through other people who will be there for you—if you are willing to open your mind and heart to what they have to offer. You say the illness is beyond your abilities, and that should make it obvious that you need help from other people.
  • Another efficient way to reach out is to give a spiritual ritual. In your situation, it is essential for you to invoke spiritual protection, and the most efficient spiritual protection available on planet earth today is to give decrees to Archangel Michael. I understand that you feel like your mind is so chaotic that you cannot employ a spiritual technique. Yet it is not a complicated task to print a decree, to set aside time and to sit down and force yourself to read the decree from one end to the other. If you can write an e-mail, you can certainly read a decree, even if you do so in a somewhat mechanical manner. I can assure you, that if you will give this decree every day, you WILL begin to feel better. We have also prepared the Spiritual crisis Toolkit especially for people in your situation.

Let me say again that while it is good to pray for help from Above, it is essential to be open to the fact that God will often answer your prayers through people or other worldly means. The reason is simple. I have already attempted to answer your prayers by giving you direction through the still, small voice within you. Yet in many cases people are not able to hear that voice or they are not willing to heed its directions. Your remark, “You say we can’t expect God to save us but we have to do the work ourselves. I hate hearing that.” gives me great concern because it shows that you have so far been unwilling to heed the inner voice.

The reason is that you already know that in order to improve your situation, you need to make some changes in your life, yet so far you have not been willing to make those changes. This is a common occurrence for people in a state of depression. The psychological cause of depression is that you feel stuck, yet the reason you feel stuck is that you are not willing to make the changes that could improve your situation. Therefore, people are in a spiritual catch-22, a stalemate that seems impossible to break. Yet it only seems impossible because you are not willing to do what is necessary, such as seeking professional help or making certain changes.

Obviously, you are not the only person ever to be in this situation. Yet I hope you will realize than when you do not follow the inner voice, my next option is to seek to help you through a worldly voice that you can hear. If you reject even that voice, what options do I have left? I know there is nothing funny about your situation, yet there is an old joke which has bearing on this matter.

A severe flood occurs, and a man is forced to climb on top of his house. The water keeps rising, and the man prays fervently for God to save him. A rowboat comes by, but the man refuses to get in because he believes God will save him any minute. As the water continues to rise, he prays even more fervently. A motorboat comes by, and again the man refuses to get in. As the floodwaters reach the top of the roof, the man prays again and this time a helicopter comes by. The man still refuses to climb the ladder into the helicopter because he is expecting God to save him. The water continues to rise and the man drowns. When his lifestream enters the spiritual realm, he meets an angel, and he indignantly asks, “I prayed for God to save me, where were you?” The angel answers, “What do you mean, I sent you a rowboat, a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you want?”

The moral of the story is, of course, that even though it is not wrong to pray for a miracle, you need to be open to the fact that the miracle might occur in a worldly disguise. If you expect an angel to appear in the sky and save you, you might overlook the angel in disguise who is standing right next to you. Incidentally, some angels have taken on the disguise of professional healthcare practitioners, and when you are faced with severe depression, it is no shame to recognize that you need professional help. Imagine that you had broken an arm; would you pray for a miracle or go to the hospital? So why not seek help with a mental illness? It is no shame to ask for help, but it would be a shame to refuse to take advantage of the help that is available in this world.

Do you think it was a coincidence that you found this website? No, it was an answer to your prayers! I have directed you to a place that has the tools and the guidance you need to turn your life around. So make a firm decision that you will use the tools that are right in front of you instead of praying for a miracle from the sky. And make the decision to seek the help of professionals who can also be an answer to your prayer.

As I explain throughout this website, everything in your life is subject to your free will. Your lifestream wants to learn certain lessons in this life, and even though it can be very difficult to go through a crises, God will not simply take away the lessons that your lifestream wanted to take on before you came into embodiment. That is why God often cannot give you a miraculous solution to a difficult situation. Doing so would violate the free will of your lifestream, even though your conscious mind currently wants to escape.

I have great compassion for your situation, but you must realize that I cannot help you against the free will of your lifestream. When you make use of spiritual and practical tools to relieve the pressure of the situation, you will begin to get more in touch with your lifestream and the lessons you came here to learn. You can then begin to look for those lessons, and when you learn what you came here to learn, you can be completely free of your current limitations.

You will then find that an entirely new world of spiritual growth will open up to you. However, the missing ingredient is your willingness to take the first step and to continue to make use of every tool available in order to break the current stalemate and move on with life. God can only help those who are willing to help themselves. If you will keep taking one small step at a time, you will one day look back at your current situation and be amazed at how much your life has improved.

Because you have free will, any improvement in your life must start with a decision. I understand that many people who are caught in depression need to be jolted out of their stalemate before they can make the decision to change. For one such jolt, listen to the dictations in the toolkit and allow the vibrations of Archangel Michael and Mother Mary to consume the forces of depression in your being!

Most people need healing before they can manifest personal Christhood

TOPICS: Psychological wounds must be healed on the path to Christhood – a fragment of your lifestream can be stuck somewhere in the past – you need inner experience in order to bring back fragment – be in safe environment under guidance of professional – use spiritual tools – avoid deep hypnosis – most seekers should use therapy –

Question: Many people who have participated in various psychotherapies, like holotropic breathwork and gestalt therapy, report an increase of inner joy and self-confidence, and a clearing of the negative effects of traumatic experiences. These therapies invoke inner experiences, so I was wondering, can this bring people closer to their Christ consciousness?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

The short answer is yes. As I explained in the discourse on spiritual development, there are many lifestreams on earth who have been deeply wounded and need healing before they can manifest personal Christhood. Obviously, until a lifestream attains mastery, it can still have wounds that make it highly beneficial to use various techniques for psychological or lifestream healing.

As explained in my answer to the question on Schizophrenia, the effect of trauma can be that the lifestream fragments or divides. It is this lack of wholeness that is the main hindrance to the manifestation of Christ consciousness. Therefore, by pursuing appropriate techniques for healing such wounds, a person can truly make major strides towards manifesting Christ consciousness.

Because everything revolves around the free-will choices of the Conscious You, the fragmentation or division of the lifestream starts with a decision. This decision is often based on fear, the fear of going through a traumatic situation. The Conscious You therefore decides that it does not want to experience the trauma, and it withdraws from the situation. As modern science has revealed, everything in this universe is intimately connected, and this includes time. It is therefore quite possible that a lifestream can divide and that a fragment of the lifestream can become stuck somewhere in time.

To bring that fragment back, the Conscious You needs to have an inner experience that ties it back to the original decision that caused the fragmentation of the lifestream. This does not necessarily mean that the Conscious You needs to go back and re-experience the exact situation that caused the trauma. It is quite possible that the Conscious You can have an inner experience that contains some of the main ingredients and therefore enables the Conscious You to make the decision that opens up for the return of a fragment.

Obviously, if the fragmentation occurred as a result of trauma, the Conscious You would be afraid to re-experience the situation. Therefore, the Conscious You needs to be in a safe environment in which it can overcome this fear. It might help the Conscious You to be under the guidance of a trained professional and to experience a situation that seems less threatening than the situation that caused the trauma. That is why a lifestream can often receive healing by working on a problem that occurred during childhood in its present lifetime. This problem can become a symbol for or a tie to the original trauma that occurred in a past life. For example, by outplaying a situation from the present lifetime through gestalt therapy, the Conscious You can tie in to old records and open up for the return of a fragment that was lost in a past lifetime.

As I explained in the answer to another question, it is highly prudent to use spiritual tools to enhance the effect of various kinds of therapy. When the lifestream fragments, there will be a void in the crystalline structure of the 4-fold vehicle, and it is likely to be invaded by imperfect energies or lower beings. The proper calls to Archangel Michael can clear out such entities, and a proper use of the Violet Flame or Mother Mary’s rosaries can transform the negative energy that fills the void in the 4-fold vehicle. This can greatly speed up the healing process. Yet in the end a spiritual technique cannot in itself guarantee the return of lifestream fragments. This can only happen as the result of a conscious decision.

Over the past few decades, many viable forms of therapy have been developed and more will be released by the ascended masters in coming decades. However, not all forms of therapy are safe or appropriate. I strongly recommend that you never allow yourself to be put into deep hypnosis, with which I mean a session where you have no conscious memory of what happens, where you cannot break off the session at any time or in which a therapist puts suggestive thoughts into your mind. I also recommend that you call for the spiritual protection of both yourself and the therapist before a session. There are many tragic examples in which a therapist has transferred thoughts or feelings from his or her own subconscious mind to the subconscious mind of the client. Obviously, this will not help your spiritual growth.

With proper precautions I highly recommend that any serious spiritual seeker considers using various forms of therapy. It is a sad fact that many people have been brought up to believe that you have to be insane before you go into any kind of therapy. This is a highly unproductive attitude, and it could be compared to saying that you don’t need to start taking vitamins until you get sick.

The simple fact is that you live on a planet with a lot of negative conditions, and it is almost impossible to grow up anywhere on earth without being exposed to some kind of trauma. And since virtually everyone on this planet has had many embodiments, just about everyone has a need for healing of the lifestream. So yes, appropriate forms of therapy can be one of the most efficient ways to help bring about your personal Christhood.

A more constructive approach to anger

TOPICS: Jesus would have had his disciples go to therapy – get in touch with suppressed anger in order to resolve it – emotions are meant to flow – emotions give movement to anything coming from the mental body – cause of anger in mental body – anger caused by thoughts that life should be a certain way – someone must be to blame – stopping anger before it becomes emotional – negative emotional spiral – expressing or suppressing all anger not healthy – combine therapy with tools given by the masters – resolve cause of anger in mental and identity body – anger against yourself –

Question: I have been going to therapy to heal some of the traumatic events I experienced as a child. I go to a very good gestalt therapist who, along with me, agrees with the many teachings on this website. I have been sent mixed messages by the universe lately. Many of the modern techniques used to heal the psyche encourage one to go inside and feel the anger that has been suppressed for many years. I am told it is healthy to be angry at times, it is part of being human. It is also necessary to let the people who hurt you know that you are angry at what they did in a healthy way. My present state of awareness is 100% congruent with this. What’s the real deal with anger? If it is not healthy for one to be angry then why is that emotion “hardwired” into our being. In other words why do we as humans have anger when it is an unhealthy emotion.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Let me begin by commending you for going to therapy. As I have said before, if the modern forms of therapy had been available 2,000 years ago, I would have had all my disciples engage in some form of therapy. The blocks and wounds in your psychology represent one of the major hindrances to your spiritual progress, so if the tools are available for healing such wounds, why not make use of them? Not doing so would be like refusing to take penicillin to cure pneumonia.

I understand your confusion about anger, so let me give you some thoughts on this topic. First of all, it is correct when many modern healing techniques encourage people to go inside and get in touch with the anger that has been suppressed. However, it is important to keep in mind that the purpose for doing this obviously should not be to get people to take their anger out on other people. In other words, the purpose of these forms of therapy is not to get you to fly into a rage and beat up on the first person that comes around. The purpose is to help you get in touch with the suppressed feelings, so that you can recognize them and thereby resolve them in a constructive manner. There is an obvious difference between letting someone know you are angry at his or her actions and taking your anger out on that person.

Feelings, or emotions, can be described as energy in motion. If you will study my discourse on the levels of the material universe, you will see that I talk about the emotional body. The emotional body is meant to take the thoughts that are formulated in your mental body and give them movement, so that they can manifest in the material realm. Therefore, your emotions are meant to flow, and if you attempt to suppress your emotions, you will block the natural flow of energy through your consciousness. This will inevitably cause various psychological problems, and it is very significant and highly beneficial for people to use healing techniques to go in and resolve these blocks, so that the energy of their emotions can again start flowing naturally.

The problem with emotions is that they simply give movement to anything that enters the emotional body from the mental body. In other words, the emotional body does not discriminate and discern whether something is good or bad, right or wrong, constructive or self-destructive. The emotions simply act on whatever comes into the emotional body from the mental body. That is why it is necessary that you have some control, with your conscious mind, over your emotions.

There are some situations where expressing anger would lead to negative consequences, and therefore suppressing that anger is the lesser evil. The problem appears when people constantly suppress the anger instead of seeking to resolve the cause of the anger in the mental body, and even in your etheric body that anchors your sense of identity.

The simple fact is that while anger is an emotion, anger does not originate in the emotional body. It originates in the form of thoughts in the mental body, especially thoughts that cause you to think that life should be a certain way and that if your outer situation does not live up to expectations, then there is something wrong. These thoughts can make you think that if the world does not treat you the way you think you should be treated, an injustice has been committed and someone must be to blame. This then causes the thought that another person is to blame, and this releases the emotion of anger which can cause you seek revenge or attempt to punish the other person.

The problem is that most people do not understand how their emotions originate from thoughts. They have not learned to reach up into the mental body and discover the process whereby thoughts are formed. They have not made the effort to examine their basic beliefs and attitudes toward life and see how those attitudes give rise to specific thoughts that then release certain emotions, such as anger. In other words, most people do not have an understanding of what goes on at the subconscious levels of their minds, and both the emotional body and the mental body are below the level of what is conscious awareness for most people. So what happens to most people is that when they experience a situation that violates their expectations, they do not see the thoughts that trigger the emotions. They simply experience that their emotional body starts going wild and they feel anger.

At that moment, the anger has already been produced, the fire has already taken hold and you are left trying to put it out. Your conscious mind now has to make the choice as to what it will do with that anger. Some people do not have enough self-control to avoid acting out their anger, so they act upon it in various ways. This often causes a negative reaction from other people, which is reflected back on you. This can lead to the creation of a negative spiral that produces more and more anger. As the emotional energy continues to build, a vortex of energy is formed in your energy field, in your emotional body. This vortex can eventually become so strong that it overpowers your attempt to control it, and you have then lost control of yourself. This is what causes some people to develop a chronic anger that they cannot control.

Other people, often guided by religious attitudes or doctrines, adopt the belief that feeling or expressing anger is always wrong. Therefore, they use all of their willpower in an attempt to suppress the anger. Some people are successful in doing this for a time, but again of vortex of energy will start forming in the subconscious mind, and eventually it can become so strong that it overpowers people’s conscious willpower. Other people have such strong self-control that they can suppress the anger for an entire lifetime, yet doing so will have various effects on the psyche and the body. Many diseases are simply the physical effects of suppressed emotions, including anger. My point is that the approach taken by many Christians, namely to suppress all anger, is not the most healthy approach.

There are two things you can do to develop a more constructive approach to anger. The first one is to use various modern healing techniques to uncover suppressed anger and resolve those feeling permanently. This means expressing your anger in a way that does not create a negative spiral between you and other people. In other words, it is not healthy to take your anger out on other people, although it is healthy to express it in a more controlled environment. Certain modern healing techniques, including gestalt therapy, can help people get in touch with their anger and express it in a way that actually helps them reestablish the natural flow of energy through their emotional bodies.

The problem with such healing techniques is that even though expressing your anger is helpful in terms of reestablishing the proper flow of energy, the anger you expressed still represents a certain amount of misqualified energy. As I explain throughout our websites, there is a constant stream of energy that flows from your spiritual self through the various levels of your mind. When you engage in negative thoughts and feelings, you misqualify energy and the energy will remain in the misqualified state until you do something to purify it.

It is precisely the misqualified energy that accumulates in your energy field and creates a negative vortex that acts as a block to the natural flow of energy. So unlocking that block through therapy is beneficial, yet expressing your anger does not transform the negative energy. Therefore, it would be extremely beneficial for yourself, and for humanity as a whole, even the planet as a whole, if all modern therapists would become aware of the need to transform the negative energy. This is precisely why we of the ascended masters have released techniques for transforming negative energy, including the Violet Flame and the rosaries that you find on the toolbox website. I would therefore strongly recommend that people combine therapy with the use of techniques for transforming negative energy. This would greatly speed up the process of healing and lead to much better results.

Now for the second step in the healing process. As I said, your emotions originate as thoughts. If you truly want to heal your psyche, it is not enough to get in touch with your anger, to express that anger and to transmute the negative energy produced by the anger. After you work through your anger and reestablish a proper flow of energy through your emotional body, you need to go to the next level, which is to go into the mental body and uncover the thoughts and attitudes that lead to anger. You then need to realize that these thoughts spring from certain decisions you made about how you see yourself, how you see God and how you see your relationship to God. When you uncover these thoughts, you can then begin to replace the limiting decisions that lead to anger with better decisions.

What I am talking about here is a process of taking command over every part of your being, including your mental body and your sense of identity. This process really is the path to personal Christhood, and as you walk that path, you will gradually replace all limiting attitudes and beliefs with higher beliefs. At the end of this process you will end up being in complete command of yourself, so that you can respond to whatever happens in this world without having that response dictated by blocks in your emotional body, limiting decisions in your mental body or even a limiting sense of identity in your etheric body. You will then live up to the saying that the prince of this world comes and has nothing in you whereby he can manipulate or control you.

When you have achieved this inner freedom, you will never feel the human anger that most people experience. This form of anger is an anger that is always based on a sense of injustice and a sense of blame. Someone has done something wrong, they deserve to be blamed for doing it, and you are going to let them know so in no uncertain terms. This form of anger always springs from a desire to punish someone, either through physical actions or through making them feel bad about what they did to you. This can include punishing yourself and making yourself feel bad for mistakes you supposedly made.

Incidentally, anger that is not directed at another person (for example out of fear) will end up being directed at yourself. That is why many people who were abused as children feel an, often hidden, anger against themselves, and they need to make an effort to forgive themselves and transmute the anger.

Truly, becoming free of human anger is doable, but also be aware of my comments about the difference between human anger and holy wrath.

Finally, let me say that anger is not hard-wired into the spiritual part of your being or into the Conscious You; it is only hard-wired into the dualistic mind. So the key to overcoming human anger is to rise above that state of consciousness, to put off the old man of the dualistic mind and put on the new man of the Christ mind. This process is what I explain throughout this website.

Psychological healing in new age

TOPICS: New energies in Aquarius – psychological healing –

Question: Are there new energies coming into this world that will enable many of us to become healers?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

It is true that in the Age of Aquarius, many people will become healers. However, many will specialize in healing the psyche (the soul), which is the true key to healing the body.

Healing severe trauma and childhood abuse

TOPICS: As you approach Christhood, you become a target for dark forces – chaos in your childhood is one such attack – determine to seek healing with all means – you are not alone – be very determined to get spiritual protection – use spiritual tools – seek professional help – abuse an opportunity to learn about your own psychology – seeking to help others – bringing the judgment – envelop the situation in forgiveness – overcome guilt or sense of responsibility – overcome sense that you can never go back to God – your I AM Presence – accept responsibility for your reaction to the abuse – division of soul vehicle – taking back your will power – you gave up your will, and you must take it back – do not believe that you are a bad person – replace original decisions for how you reacted to abuse – healing can be painful but worth the effort –

Question: How do I, in practical ways, take back dominion of my will, and my I AM Presence, when this was stolen from me through extreme abuse as a very young child?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

It is difficult to give a general answer to a question like this. The reason being that there are so many individual factors at play. In other words, there can be several reasons a lifestream is exposed to severe abuse, and there are many different scenarios for how such abuse affects the lifestream. So in the following answer I will focus on the type of lifestreams who are most likely to study this website.

As you will see from my discourse on the stages of spiritual development, the people on this planet are at several levels of consciousness. The type of lifestreams who are likely to be attracted to this website are people who have reached a more advanced level of spiritual maturity and are on the path to personal Christhood. These are precisely the type of lifestreams that are a threat to the dark forces who are working against God’s vision for humankind as a whole and for individual lifestreams. In other words, when you begin to manifest your personal Christhood, you will become a target for the dark forces. They will do anything in their power to prevent you from manifesting and expressing that Christhood while you are here on earth.

One of the plots used by such dark forces is to create the greatest possible amount of chaos in your childhood, so that your life’s mission is distorted or even aborted at the outset. In their attempts to do this, dark forces will seek to take over weak-minded individuals around you and use them to expose you to severe abuse. Obviously, I am not saying that all people who are abused are on the path to Christhood or that every lifestream who manifests a degree of Christhood will necessarily be abused. What I am saying is that if you have been abused as a child, and if you are open to the teachings on this website, you should consider yourself to be an advanced lifestream, and you should consider that the abuse you experienced was a direct attack against your lifestream, precipitated by dark forces.

Based on this recognition, I would hope you would reach the conclusion that you cannot allow anything that happened to you in this world to stand in the way of the goal of manifesting your Christhood and fulfilling your spiritual mission for this lifetime. Therefore, I would hope people would make the decision to pursue any avenue possible in order to heal the wounds they received in childhood, and leave them permanently behind, so that they can get on with their mission and Christhood.

If you will make this decision and if you will follow through by taking advantage of all avenues of healing, you will find that there will be an extraordinary help and support from above. Contrary to what you might have been taught as you were growing up, or what you might have concluded as a result of the abuse, you are not alone. You have a Christ self and you have angels and ascended beings assigned to help your lifestream overcome all obstacles and manifest your Christhood. If you will call to us with an open mind, you will receive the help and guidance you need in order to take the next step toward healing.

The first practical step you need to take to put childhood abuse (or any type of abuse) behind you is to recognize the fact that the abuse was an attack on your lifestream by dark forces. This should make it obvious that you need to make a very determined effort to establish or reestablish your spiritual protection. This involves making diligent use of appropriate techniques for spiritual protection, and we give several such techniques on our other website. If you will make use of these techniques, you will gradually establish a wall of light around your energy field, and this will make you less vulnerable to negative thoughts or energies projected at you from dark forces. However, you should also call specifically for Archangel Michael to bind and consume all dark forces who have invaded your energy field and your lifestream. For more details, see my answer to a question on how to overcome addiction.

The next practical step you can take is to recognize that when you are exposed to severe trauma and abuse, especially when it happens in childhood, it is virtually inevitable that your lifestream will become fragmented. I have given detailed teachings on this in the answers to several questions in another section. I recommend that you study these answers.

You can do a number of things on your own to heal a fragmented lifestream, including Mother Mary’s East-West Rosary, calls to the Violet Flame and other spiritual exercises. It will also be a great help to study both the teachings on this website and other books on spirituality and psychology. You can also find techniques for healing the soul or the inner child that can be helpful. Yet in the end it will be highly beneficial for people who have endured severe abuse to enter some form of therapy with a trained professional. Seek to find a therapist who is open to the spiritual side of life without going too far into some of the extremes you find in the New Age field. In other words, the key to manifesting Christhood is to attain balance and the key to healing your lifestream is to find a balanced form of therapy, which requires a balanced therapist.

I would also strongly recommend that you contemplate the possibility that your lifestream might have chosen to embody in a situation where there was a high probability of abuse. There are several reasons your lifestream might have made this choice. One is that your lifestream wanted to learn a specific lesson that would help you resolve something in your psychology. If this is the case, it is extremely important that you discover what that lesson is and fully integrate the lesson into your being. One potential reason is that your lifestream wanted to learn the lesson that it cannot rely on anything or anybody outside of itself but that it must go within and establish the contact to its Christ self.

Another reason for choosing a difficult childhood is that you are a mature lifestream who wants to help other lifestreams. You chose to do this by experiencing a very difficult situation yourself, so that you know what it feels like and can therefore be more effective in helping others overcome the negative effects of abuse.

Finally, your lifestream might have chosen a situation that could lead to abuse because you wanted to bring the judgment upon certain lifestreams that have committed abuses in the past. In that case, you should consider it your right and your obligation to call forth God’s judgment upon the lifestream, or lifestreams, who abused you and all the dark forces working through them. This is indeed one of the reasons I allowed myself to be crucified because in committing this abuse against a person with full Christhood, these lifestreams, and the forces working through them, brought about their own judgment. Although the very act of abuse is a judgment, it is still beneficial to call forth the judgment.

Another very important step is to work on enveloping the entire situation in the flame of forgiveness. Mother Mary’s Forgiveness Rosary is an extremely powerful tool for doing this. Her discourse on forgiveness is also extremely important because only when you can fully forgive those who abused you will you be able to leave the abuse behind.

It is also extremely important that you forgive yourself for your reaction to the abuse or anything you might have done as a result of the abuse. As a child, most people tend to think that the world revolves around them, meaning that if something bad happens to them, they must have done something to cause it. This makes many children accept a false sense of responsibility for the actions of the adults around them. In reality, the child was not responsible for the actions of the adults; the adults were acting out their own unresolved psychology, and they were likely influenced or controlled by dark forces as a result of those psychological weaknesses.

An unfortunate effect of the Christian doctrine about sin is that many children feel that if they were abused, they must have committed a sin that made them deserve this abuse, and this might mean that they are bad people. It is extremely important for you to completely overcome such negative feelings about yourself, and you can do so only by fully forgiving yourself, not so much for the abuse as for your reaction to the abuse or any actions, such as an attempt to dull the pain with alcohol or drugs, that followed the abuse.

Mother Mary’s discourse also explains how the dark forces try to trap you in a limited self image that makes you feel you could never again be worthy to come home to God. The most unfortunate effect of severe abuse is that a child can feel that it has been so violated by the abuse that it could never again be worthy to face God. As Mother Mary explains, this is the ultimate lie used by dark forces, and it is extremely important that you see through this lie, accept it as a lie and consciously choose not to believe in this lie. As Mother Mary says, there is nothing that could possibly have happened to you in this world that you cannot overcome and leave behind.

You talk about taking back dominion of your will and your I AM Presence. Let me first say that the Conscious You and soul vehicle never had dominion over your I AM Presence, and it is not meant to have such dominion. When your lifestream is connected to your I AM Presence, your Presence has dominion over your lifestream. That is why I said, “I of my own self (meaning the lifestream) can do nothing; it is the Father (meaning the I AM Presence) within me who is doing the work.” So you need to let your Presence take back dominion over your lifestream, and you do that by healing your lifestream and reestablishing the connection to your Christ self and through that to your I AM Presence.

I realize that when a lifestream has been deeply wounded, it can be very painful to think about the entire situation surrounding the abuse. It can therefore be very difficult for such a lifestream to realize and acknowledge the truth in Mother Mary’s teachings that nobody ever did anything to you. What she is really saying is that although someone abused you as a child, what caused your lifestream to be hurt was not the outer act of abuse but your reaction to it. This might be difficult to accept until you lifestream has been somewhat healed.

When your lifestream has been abused, it is almost inevitable that the lifestream will have fractured and that some of the fragments have become separated from your 4-fold vehicle. This leaves empty spaces within the structure of your soul vehicle, and those empty spaces can be filled in by impure energies or even by conscious beings that seek to control your lifestream.

Because there is not enough substance left after the abuse and because of outside forces manipulating your lifestream, it can feel as if your will was taken away from you. The reason being that the substance that is left might not be strong enough to take dominion over the structure of your lifestream. Yet as you begin to put on spiritual protection, and as you begin to heal your lifestream, you will magnetize some of the lost fragments back to you and you will expel the foreign energies and beings. This will then gradually build a critical mass, and you will eventually reach a point of greater wholeness where you can take back dominion over your conscious will.

However, I must make it clear that this is not an automatic process. The brutal fact is that no force in this world can take away your will. What can happen is that the forces of this world expose you to such severe trauma and abuse that your lifestream is in such turmoil that it can voluntarily give away its will. The lifestream can feel it has made such a severe mistake or that its situation is so chaotic that it could not possibly do anything on its own to resolve the situation. Therefore, the lifestream can voluntarily give up its will.

My point here is that as you begin the process of healing, there will come a point where you have magnetized enough fragments that you are able to take back your will. Yet taking back your will must be a conscious decision. You can take back your will only through an act of will. You gave it away through an act of will, and you must take it back the same way. There are serpentine lies designed to make you believe that if only you engage in a certain outer ritual, you will automatically be healed. The outer ritual of healing can indeed help you heal your lifestream. But in the end you must consciously take back your will by making the decision to accept full accountability for your own situation.

Please understand that I fully realize how difficult it can be for a person who has been severely abused, or who has been exposed to other forms of trauma, to feel any kind of personal responsibility for the situation. I am not asking you to feel accountable for what other people did to you. Nor am I asking you to feel that you must be a bad person to have such things happen to you. I am asking you to accept accountability for your reaction to the situation, so that you accept the fact that what hurt your lifestream was the decisions you made – the false self image you accepted – while the abuse was taking place or afterwards. I am then asking you to accept the fact that those decisions were the best possible decisions you could have made at the time, given your state of consciousness and spiritual maturity. This should be especially obvious concerning abuse that happened during childhood, but it truly applies to everyone.

I am then asking you to accept that because you have now reached a higher level of lifestream maturity, you could have made better decisions today than you made back then. When you come to this recognition, you can then allow yourself to re-experience the situation and replace the original decision with a better decision. I recognize that this can be painful, but if you go through the steps of healing your lifestream and establishing spiritual protection, the pain will be much less intense.

What I am saying is that in the end the damage that was done to your lifestream was done through decisions you made, and therefore the only way that damage can be permanently undone is by you making better decisions that replace the old choices. Once again, the help of an experienced therapist can be invaluable in terms of helping your lifestream go through the difficult process of facing its past decisions and replacing them with better ones.

I also realize it might take a long time to fully heal the effects of childhood abuse. Yet I can assure you that no matter what might have happened to you, it is possible to leave it all behind and manifest your personal Christhood. I can also promise you that by making the effort to seek healing, you will reap a reward that will make it all worth it. Once you are free from such past trauma, you will feel spiritually reborn, and you can then begin to express your Christhood and fulfill your divine plan.

Incidentally, your mission in life might be to help other victims of abuse and show them how to be healed. Or it might be to increase awareness about abuse and help society put an end to it—which must include a greater understanding of the spiritual causes of abuse.

The energy fields of the client and healer interact

TOPICS: Energy fields interact during a session – will the fields cancel out light from the masters? – the consciousness of the therapist determines what kind of clients are attracted – psychic healers and pressure to deliver – easy to tune in to lower forces – does not make client self-sufficient – codependency – generally, avoid psychic healers – does healer use spiritual protection – how to select a healer –

Question: Dear Jesus, can you give me an idea how accurate the readings performed by psychic healers are and what to look for in a healer?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I cannot give you an exact number because it is meaningless to put numbers on this. To understand why, you need to realize what is happening in any process where a person has a session with a psychologist or any other type of psychic or spiritual healer.

There is always an interaction between the client and the healer. So what happens is that the energy field of the client and the energy field of the healer begin to interact during the session. The type of interaction between these two energy fields is very dependent on the contents of the two fields and how they either magnify or cancel out each other. What I am saying here is that the outcome of a healing session will be an individual matter that varies from client to client.

Let us look at the best case scenario. Let us imagine that we have a healer who is able to raise his consciousness and therefore receive instructions, visions and light either from his Christ self or from the ascended masters. Such instructions can be compared to a beam of white light that shines through the consciousness of the healer. The consciousness of the healer is like a film strip, and what reaches the conscious mind of the healer and client is like the images projected on the movie screen.

What happens when a client enters the healer’s energy field is that the consciousness of the client is overlapping the consciousness of the healer. In other words, the light from the ascended masters now has to shine through two different film strips that are superimposed upon each other. So we now have the possibility that the combination of the two film strips will cancel out or distort some of what is coming from above. Only a healer with a high degree of Christhood can avoid having his insights limited by the client’s (or his own) energy field.

For some clients, the combination of the energy field of the client and the field of the healer might still give a constructive session that does not substantially cancel out or distort the light. Yet in other cases the combination of the two energy fields might indeed cancel out or greatly distort the light coming from above.

Do you see why it is impossible to set a general measure for the effectiveness of a spiritual or psychological healer? There are simply too many variables, depending on the energy field of both client and healer and how they interact with each other. Yet it should be obvious that the more pure the consciousness of the healer, the more pure the impulses that can be received from above. Therefore, it is extremely important to look for a healer who has followed the old admonishment, “Physician, heal thyself.”

Unfortunately, the consciousness of the healer will determine the type of people who are attracted to that particular healer. In other words, if the healer has certain unresolved elements in the psychology, he or she will often attract clients who have the same unresolved elements. The effect is that both the healer and the client are often blinded by their unresolved substance and therefore cannot clearly receive the instructions or the healing coming from above. What can actually happen is that a client heals several other aspects of his psychology without touching the issue that is unresolved in both client and healer. The client might indeed leave with a feeling that he has accomplished major work, yet he has not even touched upon the main issue.

Now let us look at a less than ideal scenario. We now have a healer who is not able to raise his consciousness to the level of the Christ self, or who is not able to do this consistently. Therefore, the healer does not consistently receive instructions from above. In some cases this does not have a detrimental effect on the client, it simply means that the client is not healed.

However, the problem comes in for healers who have set themselves up as having certain psychic or spiritual abilities. Such healers can easily become idolized by their clients, and the healer might fall prey to this idolatry and begin to feel that he has to deliver for every client. This ambition to always deliver an extraordinary experience or insight will inevitably cause the healer to tune in to forces that are not of the ascended masters.

It is very easy for such healers to tune in to psychic forces at lower levels. Such forces are quite capable of giving the healer wonderful visions and insights that might seem profound and exciting to a client who has not yet developed sufficient discernment. Yet in reality, such insights might contain subtle errors that prevent the spiritual growth of the client.

In my discourse on channeling I explain that some channelers tune in to forces that are not malevolent spirits but simply not as developed as the ascended masters. Many psychic healers do tune in to such forces, and in some cases they get instructions that are helpful. Yet the common theme for these types of healings is that while they might help the client resolve certain issues, they will not help the client become self-sufficient and able to walk the spiritual path on his own.

This has never been the methodology used by the ascended masters. Our goal is always to make the student self-sufficient and independent of an outer guru, so that the student can walk the path in the light of his inner guru of the Christ self, and therefore quickly come to sit under his own vine and fig tree of the I AM Presence.

The dynamic here is simple. It is always difficult for a client to rise above the level of the healer, and it is difficult for a student to rise above the consciousness of the outer guru. If the healer is not able to consistently rise to the level of spiritual self-sufficiency, then how can the healer help the client become self-sufficient and walk the path on his own? In many cases, the healer does not have the goal of making the client self-sufficient, because the healer wants the client to come back, either for the sake of feeling important or for the sake of making money. This then is the problem you see with many psychic or spiritual healers, namely that they gather a clientele who become co-dependent upon the healer.

It is quite possible that such clients for a time could actually receive genuine healing. Yet there comes a point when the client is meant to walk on his own. If the client is not strong enough to do this, and if the healer is not developed enough to help the client do this, then co-dependency will be the inevitable result. This can actually slow down or stop the client’s spiritual progress rather than helping the person’s spiritual progress. This is not what I desire to see happen to anyone, and that is why I consistently, in all of the teachings given on my website, stress the importance of attunement with your Christ self and of never allowing any outer source to stand between you and your Christ self.

It is difficult to give specific advice for selecting a healer, because the abilities of healers vary so much from individual to individual. In general, I recommend that you avoid healers who call themselves psychic, because they often tune in to lower forces. I recommend a person with a professional background, for example a psychologist who is using New Age or spiritual methods. If you cannot find that, seek a person who is certified by some recognized organization or who has a professional appearance and attitude.

When considering a spiritual healer, ask if he or she uses spiritual protection against lower forces. If the healer does not recognize the existence of lower forces or seems indifferent to them, avoid that healer. Avoid people who think all psychic or spiritual phenomena are benign. Be aware that some psychics will say they no longer need protection because of their advanced state. Be very cautious of people making this claim as it is most likely (though not always) self-delusion.

Before going to a healer, use the spiritual tools on our website, as described elsewhere. Be aware of any tendency for the healer to give readings or insights that sound good but contain little substance. Be aware of a tendency to build your pride or appeal to vanity or a sense of being overly important. It is acceptable for a healer to help you build self-esteem, but there is a fine line between self-esteem and pride.

Always seek input from your Christ self, and carefully evaluate how your sessions with a healer progress. Be especially alert to any subtle movement towards co-dependence, either on your part or coming from the healer. If you become aware of this, or if you become aware that the healer is unbalanced or has unresolved issues, you might need to switch to a different healer. Or take a break and use our tools for a time, then evaluate how you feel.

Is AIDS God’s punishment?

TOPICS: God does not punish people – Jesus portrayed God as a loving God – Christians use a false image of God to judge others – AIDS is product of karma created through promiscuous sex – loveless sex and hatred of the mother – increase in sexual perversions – karma coming due at end of Piscean age – people who are most vulnerable reap the karma first – Karmic Board can hold back people’s karma to help them grow – Sodom and Gomorra – viruses not created by God – AIDS virus and secret laboratories – protecting yourself from the virus – a spiritual cure for AIDS –

Question: Is AIDS God’s punishment of homosexuals, as some fundamentalist preachers say? I don’t think it can be, but did the Karmic Board decide to let AIDS manifest in order to teach people a lesson about sexuality?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

You are correct that AIDS is NOT God’s punishment. The image of an angry and punishing God is a graven image that was projected upon God during Old Testament times, as I explain elsewhere. It is a false image, and therefore a violation of the second commandment. The true God is a God of unconditional love, as I explain in another answer. I came in part to give people a new image of God, namely that of a loving Father figure with whom people can have a personal relationship.

When I told people to “Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” (Matthew 22:37), I essentially told people to leave behind the old image of an angry God. How can you possibly love a God who is angry and ready to punish you for the slightest transgression?

Needless to say, I am saddened by the fact that so many modern Christians hold on to an image of God that has been outdated for 2,000 years and that is in direct opposition to the image of God I gave them. I am even more saddened by the fact that so many Christians use this false image of God to judge and condemn their fellow man. I am further saddened because I know God’s law will not be mocked. So these Christians will inevitably be judged by the same standard whereby they judge others.

As I explain throughout this website, God has created a mechanical law that returns all energy to you that you send into the universe. This is clearly stated in the Bible, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap” (Galatians 6:7). One might say that the universe acts like a mirror that reflects back to you whatever you do to others. That is the real reason I told people to do unto others as you would have the universe do unto you.

Thus, AIDS is a product of humankind’s karma, which is the result of their continued misqualification of God’s energy. In this case, the misqualification of energy has occurred through sex, which is why it has been reflected back in the form of a sexually transmitted disease. In particular, the misqualification of energy that has led to the disease of AIDS is that of promiscuous sex. With that I mean sex that is done purely for the gratification of the lower (selfish) emotions and has no deeper feelings of (unselfish) love behind it.

This form of sexual activity is actually based on a disrespect for the body temple as a gift from God and as the vehicle for the lifestream’s liberation from the matter universe. It serves only to further bind the lifestream to the matter universe. Many of the people who engage in loveless sex actually have a – usually unrecognized – hatred for the body. And because human bodies are made from the Mother energies, the Ma-ter light, this is actually a hatred of the Mother. This is the same hatred that started with the fall of Lucifer, as explained by Mother Mary in her discourse.

When a large number of people continue to engage in an activity that misqualifies energy, you have a build-up of tension. You can compare this to water rising behind a dam. The water exerts a pressure on the dam, and it will eventually break through the weakest points. This is simply a mechanical process, and if you know the pressure and know the weakest points in the dam, you can calculate when and where the water will break through.

This is very similar to the karmic tension building when a large number of people engage in promiscuous sex. Obviously, this has been going on for a very long time, so there is much karma that is coming due here at the end of the Piscean Age. This karma must be balanced before humankind can make the leap into the consciousness of the Aquarian Age, and that is why AIDS appeared at this time. During the past decades, beginning in the 1960s, there has been an increase in promiscuous sex and many forms of sexual perversions, such as pornography, sexual slavery, sexual abuse of children etc.

This has built a tension, that started in the emotional realm, which is right above the material realm in vibration. I explain this in grater detail elsewhere. As the tension reaches critical mass, it begins to break through in the material realm, and that is when you see actual physical events, in this case the first outbreaks of the AIDS virus. Obviously, as with the water behind the dam, the first material breakthrough happened in the weakest areas, in this case areas with an ongoing misuse of sexual energy.

I am sure most unbiased people are aware that here is much promiscuity in the gay community and there is much promiscuity in many areas of Africa. In reality, there is no intent whatsoever on God’s part to punish certain groups of people, nor is there a judgment based on race or sexual orientation. It is simply a mechanical effect that when the karmic tension reaches a certain intensity, it will manifest in the lives of the people who are the most vulnerable to this particular form of karmic return. In this case, the vulnerability was caused by an unwillingness to curb the promiscuous sexual activity. In both Africa and the gay community this was due to certain cultural beliefs that made people think promiscuous sex has no negative consequences. These people had turned the deaf ear to the various warnings from both religion and science which indicate that all actions have consequences.

You mention the Karmic Board, which is a group of ascended beings who oversee the spiritual growth of human beings and are assigned to help people free themselves from the downward pull of their karma. Be careful not to transfer the image of a punishing God unto the Karmic Board. In reality, the members of the Karmic Board do not determine who is to receive what karma and when. This is all determined by a purely mechanical law.

What the Karmic Board can do is to hold back a portion of the karma of an individual or a group of people for the purpose of giving an opportunity for spiritual growth. In other words, if a person has shown a great willingness to change in a positive direction, yet the person has a karmic return that would set back the person’s progress, then the Karmic Board can hold back that karma for a season. This allows the person to accumulate good karma, what I called “laying up treasure in heaven” (Matthew 6:19-20), so that it will be easier to pay back the karmic debt.

Yet the Karmic Board does not do this arbitrarily. It is all determined based on how the lifestream is likely to use the opportunity. In other words, the Karmic Board is evaluating what has the greatest potential to assist a lifestream’s spiritual growth. If the lifestream is willing to change, then holding back a certain portion of karma is often the best way to help the person. Yet if a lifestream is not willing to change, then allowing the person to experience the karmic consequences of its actions is often the only possibility of awakening that lifestream to the reality of life, namely that you will reap what you have sown.

In the case of AIDS, there simply were not enough people who were willing to change their attitude to sex that the karma could be held back. This is much like the situation around the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra (Genesis, Chapter 18). This Biblical story describes a situation where a certain people had created a very intense karma based on the misuse of sexual energy—which is the very life force itself and therefore creates intense karma when misused. This karma had become so intense that it was about to spill over into the material realm.

Abraham was used as a messenger by the Karmic Board, and he pleaded with them to spare the city if enough righteous people could be found. As you can surmise from the story, the Karmic Board would actually have spared the city if there had been enough righteous people. Yet when such people could not be found, there was no justification for suspending the karma. Therefore, the law of karma, the law of action and reaction demanded that the energy was allowed to run its natural cause and the cities were destroyed by natural disasters. I am not saying every aspect of this story should be taken literally, yet there is an underlying truth about how karma returns.

In the present age, there is again a karmic return due to the misuse of sexual energy. Yet this is not concentrated in one or two cities but is a worldwide problem. Therefore, the karmic return has taken the form of a sexually transmitted disease, which – of course – can only be transmitted by people who engage in promiscuous sex.

Let me point out that a virus is actually not a creation of God. God never created any virus. All viruses are artificially created in the laboratories of dark forces residing in the emotional/astral realm. The viruses can then be transferred to the material realm in areas where the vibration has become so low that the area vibrates at the level of the astral realm—which is exactly what you have in areas of Africa and certain large cities with intense misuse of sexual energy. Once the virus has crossed over into the material realm, it can then spread through material means—although only people with a karmic vulnerability will get the disease.

Yet I must tell you that in the case of AIDS, this virus first crossed over in certain secret laboratories, and its spread was partially due to an experiment run amok. Obviously, this was done by people who were blinded by their own karma and pride, and were therefore vulnerable to the manipulation of dark forces. And this could not have happened if it had not been for the karmic vulnerability of humankind. My point being that there really is no reason to place particular blame on the people who became the instruments of the crossing over of the AIDS virus. They were simply the focal points of the general karmic vulnerability, and the AIDS virus would have crossed over regardless. In fact, the virus did cross over in separate locations and thus the entire epidemic is not due to one single physical source.

So what is the protection from this virus? Obviously, a reform of one’s actions is the best defense. Stop all promiscuous sex and then move on to change your attitude to sex, seeking to heal your psychology of all unconscious hatred of the Mother light. As I said, the spread of this virus is a mechanical process where the karmic tension that drives the virus mechanically finds the weakest points in society. So make sure you are not one of these weak points when it comes to your sexual behavior and attitude.

Obviously, you can also use Archangel Michael’s Rosary to seal yourself from misqualified sexual energies and use Mother Mary’s rosaries to clear your energy field and transmute ancient karma. Yet such measures will have the maximum effect only if you are sincere about reforming your actions and attitude. In other words, give the Karmic Board the best possible reason to set aside any karma that might make you vulnerable to the AIDS virus. Such measures can also prevent people who are HIV positive from developing actual symptoms, and it can diminish existing symptoms. What I am saying here is that there is a spiritual cure for AIDS, as for any other disease.

Not allowing physical limitations to stop your spiritual growth

TOPICS: Do not let physical limitations hold back your spiritual growth – your mental images have created your physical conditions – dismiss the lie that matter has power over your spirit – you can always take the next step – you can have a seismic shift in awareness – your consciousness has created physical conditions – you have taken on the mass consciousness –

Question: You explained how to confront emotional and psychological difficulties of realizing Christhood. Could you also address the physical limitations that we face in the three-dimensional world, such as chemical imbalances, low blood sugar, attention deficit disorder (ADD), and all the physical limitations man faces, that have a negative impact on raising our consciousness?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

You need to recognize that every material condition is the outpicturing of a condition in consciousness. And thus, you need to decide – consciously – that whatever physical limitations you have right now, they will not hold you back from taking the next step on your personal path.

The lie promoted by the forces of this world, by the prince of this world, is that material conditions have power over the real you. The real you is a Spiritual Being. You are expressing yourself currently through a physical body, but you are more than that body.

What has happened to most people in embodiment is that you have lost the recognition, the awareness, the acceptance of who you really are as a spiritual being. And through that separation you have started to create the mortal self – the ego – and you have then projected mental images upon the Ma-ter Light. And it is those images that are now outpicturing themselves in whatever physical conditions you face.

The lie promoted by the false teachers is that the physical conditions you are facing were not created by your state of mind. And therefore, you do not have the power of mind to rise above or change those physical conditions, but you should accept that your mind, your spirit, is limited by those conditions. This is the lie that you must begin to see through and dismiss. I know this cannot be done – for most people – in one magical moment, but it can be done by gradually overcoming the illusion that physical conditions have power to limit your spirit.

I ask you to be careful in discerning, so you do not go into an analytical reaction here. You realize that you have certain physical limitations and conditions right now, and you may not be able – and it may not be your divine plan – to have them miraculously healed in one moment, in one instant. But nevertheless, whatever physical limitations you have, there is something you can do to take the next step on your path. As Mother Mary explained, your highest potential right now may not be the ultimate potential, whatever that ultimate potential might be. It might not be to manifest your full Christhood. But your highest potential is to take the next step toward that Christhood. And you can take that step regardless of the physical limitations you face.

This then is the shift in consciousness. And my beloved, you CAN make that shift in consciousness instantly—if you are willing to let it be a seismic shift that instantly shifts your entire outlook on life. When you recognize that, as a spiritual being, it makes no sense whatsoever that physical conditions can limit the expression of your spirit, you might even begin to see that the physical conditions you face will have one or two purposes.

One purpose is that this is for your personal growth, your personal learning, where you need to learn that in past lives you entered into a state of consciousness that is now being outpictured as the physical conditions you face. And thus, when you get in tune with what that consciousness is, and how it has outplayed itself in physical limitations, well then you can personally learn to grow beyond that consciousness. Thereby opening up for a gradual or even a sudden recreation of your physical state, even your physical body, to overcome those conditions.

The second potential is that you have taken on a portion of the mass consciousness, thereby allowing yourself to experience the physical conditions you are in. Which again can have the purpose of either demonstrating how to overcome and rise above that consciousness, thereby rising above the physical condition. Or even demonstrating how to live a spiritual life in spite of the physical condition, so that you can inspire other people with that condition to rise above it, no longer allowing themselves to see it as something that cannot be overcome, something they have to accept that will limit them for the rest of this lifetime. This is the lie that you are all here to dispel through your example.

No healing method is a cure-all

TOPICS: Many new healing technologies, but none are infallible – no technology is a magic wand – you always need to look beyond material universe – to develop new healing methods, people must attune to the masters – true healing must be psychological also – person’s consciousness necessary ingredient in healing – restoring brain function and spiritual faculties – multi-level marketing –

Question: Beloved Jesus, I have a question, probably a couple of questions in here actually. I know there are many karmic reasons for people falling ill, you know maybe karmic reasons, or diet, lifestyle, emotions and that kind of thing. I’ve recently been introduced to a new technology and it is called Glyconutrients, and it claims to help cell-to-cell communication and improve health and wellness in the body, and that it can help the body heal itself. And it is kind of claimed that it is a God-given technology. I was wondering about the authenticity of that, and also there are claims that it improves brain function. And so in terms of how you mentioned that alcohol destroys the brain, this technology claims that it can actually restore the brain function, and I was just wondering if that was true.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

There are many new technologies in the medical field and elsewhere that are inspired by the ascended masters. However, be careful about the claim that something is God-given. Because people have a tendency to transfer the idolatry from traditional religion and thereby thinking that this technology now should be infallible and therefore should cure everything.

There is only, as I said in my discourse, one true system, and that is the non-system of Christ consciousness. Technology is something in the material world. There is no technology that is a magic wand, a philosopher’s stone that will cure everything. There never has been—there never will be. For if there was a material way to solve all problems, why would people ever look beyond the material universe?

There are many technologies that are valid and valuable and should be developed and pursued, but people doing so should be careful about going into the state of consciousness of thinking that now we have finally found the cure-all. For those who adopt that state of consciousness are very close to entering the state of consciousness of the people who used to sell snake oil and other remedies that claim to cure everything.

Those who are in the healing field and working with new technologies, should be very conscious of the fact that they will get the best results by tuning in to the ascended masters, to their Higher selves, bringing forth new ideas from the spiritual realm. But they should also be aware of the fact that true healing must be a psychological, spiritual healing, where the person is helped to overcome the state of consciousness that outpictures itself as physical disease and physical syndromes.

You see, my beloved, there are so many people in the healing field who are driven by a genuine desire to help other people, but there is still some ego mixed in, so some have a desire to be famous, some have a desire to make money. And this gives them this drive to find this final cure-all that will help all people cure whatever disease has befallen them. The only cure-all is raising of the consciousness of the people, so that they transcend the consciousness that precipitates a particular disease.

I would also caution you that there are many healing technologies that are valid. The one you mention is valid. But, there is no healing technology that works in an entirely mechanical fashion. For if you study my life on earth you will see that in several instances before I healed a person, I would ask them “Believest thou that I have the power to do this?” And only if people answered in the affirmative, would they be healed.

The person’s own consciousness is the necessary ingredient in healing the physical body. That is why so much of modern medicine is aimed at treating symptoms rather than causes. For much of modern medicine does not truly heal, it simply masks the symptom, so that the person can continue his or her lifestyle without feeling the symptom that really is an outpicturing of a particular state of consciousness.

Although it is physically possible to restore brain function, even by certain exercises, the true spiritual faculties cannot be restored simply by physical means, nor can they actually be completely destroyed through physical poisons. And it is possible that people can reclaim their spiritual faculties even if they have been into drugs or alcohol. But it does require a dramatic shift in consciousness, that many people find it very difficult to do, when they have been burdened by alcohol and drugs, that dull their spiritual faculties. And that is why this becomes a catch-22 and even a physical restoration of the brain function would not necessarily compensate for this. For what is needed is that the person takes full and final responsibility for his or her growth and state of consciousness.

And thus, my final note is, use the technologies that are there, the ones that seem valid, but do not ever fall into the trap of thinking that there is a mechanical cure and that it is not necessary to change the consciousness.

NOTE: This answer should NOT be construed to mean that Jesus is endorsing a particular product, company or marketing method. In fact, the ascended masters do not generally approve of multi-level marketing as it tends to concentrate wealth in the hands of a few people at the top of the pyramid. However, the real question should be whether the product itself is valid. Is a company selling a product that helps people or is it selling a marketing scheme based on the dream of getting rich quickly?

Keeping people on life-support

TOPICS: Some people in a coma can hold a spiritual balance – others should move on as quickly as possible – medical technology gives rise to new questions – only individual answers – no rules in Christhood –

Question: Can you comment on whether it is right to keep people on life-support after they have been declared brain-dead? Should one write a living will to define such questions?

Answer from ascended master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels:

There are those for whom it is valuable to stay in embodiment as long as possible because it allows them to maintain a focus in the physical octave. Thus, even though they are literally functioning on the outer as a vegetable, they still – through that physical focus – can use their minds to bring forth energies into the material realm. Yet there are other people for whom it would be best to leave the body behind as soon as possible, and certainly as soon as it stops functioning in any normal capacity.

The technology of the medical profession has given rise to certain ethical and moral questions. And these questions do not have a black-and-white answer. It must be discerned on an individual basis, so that each of you individually decide whether you should write a living will, and whether you should stipulate under what conditions you might want life support to be cut off—if that became an actuality. For it is indeed possible that current medical technology can keep the body alive beyond the point where the person should have died, where the body should have died according to the person’s Divine Plan.

And so, again, the real answer is always to strive for Christ discernment and to be willing to rethink the hard and fast rules—even the rules that were given in past teachings. Any rule is given for a certain state of consciousness. And when you transcend that state of consciousness, the rule is no longer necessary nor appropriate for you.

Ultimately, there are no rules in Christhood. There is only the inner attunement that allows you to know what is right in the actual situation.

You will note, for example, that when Jesus walked the earth, he performed certain healing miracles. Yet he also met people he did not heal because he had the inner attunement to know that there were certain people that were not meant to be healed, as I explained in another answer about disease given in Ireland.

NOTE: For help making such important decisions, give a novena to the Great Divine Director.

Donation of blood or organs

TOPICS: Some people have intricate karma with others – for some people their blood would be too much for others to handle –

Question: Some spiritual teachings say not to donate blood or organs. I wondered in the new age as we are all one, whether this still holds true.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

This is a question for which I cannot give a general answer. For the simple reason that the topic is too complex for a general black-and-white answer.

There are people who have such intricate karmic circumstances with certain other people that it would be an invaluable opportunity for them to pay back karma by giving blood or organs to those people.

There are other people who have risen to a certain level of consciousness, where it could be detrimental to other people if they received their blood because the difference in consciousness is so great that the consciousness that is carried in the blood would have too violent of an effect on the person who received it.

Thus, you see again that the outer mind, the ego, always wants a clear-cut black-and-white answer—do this, don’t do that and you will be saved. You need to rise to the Christ discernment, where there are no hard-and-fast general rules, where everything is an individual matter. And thus you need to tune in on an individual basis.

This also applies to many other questions related to health, such as whether you should have a living will, and what that living will should say. Whether you should allow your body to be kept alive artificially for an indeterminate period of time or whether the life support should be cut off, if that indeed became necessary.

A non-pacifying approach to disease and dying

TOPICS: Illness to balance karma more quickly – seeking to help other people learn compassion – some outpicture their own karma as illness – seeking to hide the unpleasantness of life – when people will not learn – be at peace when with people who suffer from illness – inspire people to re-evaluate their lives – hold a spiritual balance for them – avoid shutting down your emotions – avoid paralysis – avoid anger – Jesus feels people’s suffering – you are more than the self that suffers – without true understanding of life, impossible to avoid negative emotions – you are not pacified; there is something you can do – possibility for learning important lesson – learning the lesson can make the illness disappear – beyond paralysis – what the mind has created, it can uncreate –

Question: I will ask about the meaning of long and painful death. My friend died yesterday of a brain tumor. He found out about it seven weeks ago and during that period he had a lot of pain. He lost his humanity and became like a vegetable. What is the meaning for us in such a death and how can we people around them help others in that situation?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

This is a question that touches upon many different topics. One big part of the answer is always karma. There are people who are courageous lifestreams who want to make quick progress. And they volunteer at inner levels, or before coming into embodiment, to take on a serious illness in order to balance as much karma as they can for the remainder of their present embodiment, therefore attaining a better situation in their next lifetime. There are even those who can take on such an illness in order to finally balance their karma that will qualify them for their ascension.

Yet there can also be many psychological considerations that come into play, where there are people who volunteer to take on a difficult condition in order to somehow help other people by stirring compassion or a desire to help. The greatest enemy of spiritual growth is truly self-centeredness. For the ego is completely focused on itself and thus it becomes a black hole. It becomes the closed system that Saint Germain LINK spoke about when he gave his beautiful teachings on the second law of thermodynamics.

And therefore, there are many ways that have been devised by the spiritual teachers of humankind to help people overcome their self-centeredness by finally feeling some sense of compassion for others—so they are stirred to help others rather than being so focused on themselves. And so, there are indeed those who have volunteered to take on various forms of conditions – such as this – in order to stir compassion in others.

There are, of course, also people who have not volunteered to take on anything but whose karma has simply become so severe that it manifests as a crippling illness. These people have not been willing to listen to any spiritual teachings – often for many lifetimes – and thus their karma must descend upon them in order to give them another opportunity to change course in life. We who are the spiritual teachers of humankind serve the earth in large part to give people an alternative to learning from their karma. Alas, there is little we can do when people insist on enrolling themselves in the school of hard knocks.

There is also a psychological element of showing that life is more than the physical. And this is something that has come into play in modern society. For what do you see in modern medicine? Well, you see an attempt to create a state where disease and suffering is taken away from the view of the people. You almost see it at both ends of life, where you have had societies where talking about the reproductive act is a taboo—so that, literally, people believed that babies were delivered by the stork. And even in modern times, there are many children who have no idea how babies come forth. In other words, you suddenly spring into being and then one day you die and disappear.

And yet, the reality is, of course, that what you create in your consciousness, you must experience in the physical. For the universe is a mirror. And so what modern medicine has done, is to try to create a condition where they can cure any ailment or dull the pain so that people do not experience the consequences of their state of consciousness. Any disease is a manifestation of some condition in consciousness. And in many cases, a disease can indeed lead people to the point of realizing that they need to change, that they need to reevaluate their lives. And this can cause a growth that otherwise had not happened when they were healthy and focused on living the good material life as they saw it.

So this ties in with a question of suffering. For there are people who will not learn in any other way. They will not learn through a spiritual teaching or the inner prompting of their Christ self. And in that case, the physical realm, the Mother energy, becomes their teacher. And that is why their physical bodies start to outpicture the imperfect psychological conditions.

There can be a psychological value in some people seeing that others experience the suffering of an extreme illness. Obviously, we would prefer that people would learn through spiritual teachings, instead of seeing their own consciousness outpictured in these extreme ways. But when people are not willing to learn, we must allow the law of free will to outplay itself so that they see that life is not always easy and that you cannot truly escape the consequences of your choices. You cannot always numb yourself with painkillers and experience nothing.

As for the answer to what you can do to help such people, you can be at peace. So that when you are with them, you do not fall into any of the dualistic traps. One of which is human sympathy, the other being to numb yourself so you feel nothing.

You can allow yourself to feel an inner peace that gives you true compassion. And you can then seek to help and inspire these people to reevaluate their lives as long as they are clear enough to do so. When they go beyond the point of not thinking clearly, then you can again be at peace and hold the spiritual balance for them.

And of course, you can certainly give invocations and decrees that the lifestream at inner levels will be awakened to learn its lesson—even though the outer mind cannot learn it because the clarity is gone. You can also work with the people around those who are ill and try to help them reevaluate their lives and gain a more spiritual perspective on life.

When experiencing a severe illness or witnessing people who go through a severe illness and extreme suffering – even to the point that one’s loved ones deteriorate into something that is barely recognizable as a human being and certainly not as the person one used to know – it is natural that one is emotionally affected. Many people can be so traumatized by such experiences that they have no other option but to shut down their emotions and numb themselves to the emotional pain of either going through the illness or witnessing other people suffer. This will inevitably cloud people’s ability to think clearly about the situation.

Another common reaction is that one has very strong feelings, but the overall feeling is that of being paralyzed, of being powerless to affect a positive change and feeling this is unjust. This paralysis about the outer situation is then often channeled into an inner anger or rage that can eventually become so intense that it has to be let out and consequently is directed at someone. Some ill people become angry at relatives or even their caretakers. Others take their anger out on God, often asking with great indignation why God has let this happen to them.

My point is that while both reactions are understandable, the real question is whether they will ease people’s suffering and improve the physical condition or whether they will only make matters worse?

We of the ascended masters are by no means insensitive to human suffering. In fact, as the representative of the Cosmic Christ for the earth, I Jesus do indeed feel – at a particular level of my being – the suffering of every human being on earth. As I said 2,000 years ago:

Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. (Matthew 25:40)

Yet I am also fully aware that I am more than the suffering and that the people on earth are more than the suffering. Thus, I clearly see that for people on earth to escape the suffering, they need to connect to the reality that they are more, a reality I described as follows:

Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (Luke 17:21)

Thus, while we do feel a Divine compassion for people who suffer, we never get lost in that compassion and always hold the vision that people will grow in consciousness, thus overcoming the outer limitations.

It is only by going within that you can connect to the fact that there is more to your total being than the limited self that is stuck in the physical body, the body that is going through an illness or witnessing another go through an illness. Coming to this realization is very much a matter of raising your consciousness, of increasing your understanding of life. And this does involve a certain amount of rational reasoning about the situation—which will be impossible when you shut down mentally/emotionally or when you allow your emotions to run wild with anger or blame. I fully realize that this teaching will not be able to help everyone, but let me suggest how people who are not beyond rational thinking might proceed.

As I have explained elsewhere, your emotions are at a lower level than your mental body. So whether you shut down your emotions or let them run wild, the real cause is found in your mental body. And that cause is the fact that you cannot make sense out of the situation, that you cannot understand – and thus cannot accept – why it is happening. You feel that the situation is unjustly put upon you by some external force, be it life, or fate or God.

Let me suggest that the reason why so many people in modern society cannot understand and accept suffering is that neither of the dominant belief systems of that society – whereby I mean both mainstream Christianity and materialistic science – can give them sufficient answers. Because people do not have answers, their mental bodies are paralyzed and thus they cannot control their emotional bodies.

So even though people can be very emotional and even though it can be very difficult to reign in the emotions once they have gone out of control, the only realistic answer is to start by changing your view of suffering and disease, which requires you to go beyond the view of life presented by both religion and science.

Where to start? Well, there is currently no better place to start than Mother Mary’s book, in which she explains the basic reality of life:

  • Your mind has the ability to form mental images.
  • You have been given free will to form any image you like.
  • The universe is made from one substance, called the Ma-ter light. This substance can take on any form.
  • The Ma-ter light forms a kind of cosmic mirror. Any image you hold in your mind – even below the threshold of conscious awareness – will be superimposed upon the Ma-ter light, which will take on the material form that corresponds to your image.
  • Whatever image you hold in your mind, you will eventually experience in the form of material circumstances.
  • The key to changing your material circumstances is to change the images in your mind, meaning all four levels of the mind.

I realize this is a world view that is in stark contrast to the world view given to people by both religion and science. The world view with which you have been brought up is designed to pacify you so you think you have no control over your own destiny and physical circumstances. This is explained in greater detail elsewhere, so I will not go into the deeper aspects here.

If you get ill and go to a priest, he will tell you to pray and if prayer doesn’t work, there is supposedly nothing you can do. If you go to a doctor, he will tell you to use modern medicine and if that doesn’t work, there is nothing you can do. Both belief systems pacify you by denying that you are responsible for your illness, that it is an outpicturing of conditions in your mind and that you can change the physical condition by sufficiently changing your inner condition.

The problem is that both philosophies have taught people that they are not ultimately responsible for their lives, and this is a message that the human ego loves to hear. So I understand that it can be difficult for people to make the switch and acknowledge the fact that ANY material circumstance is self-created by the mind and can thus be uncreated by changing the mind.

Do you see what I am saying here? Religion tells you that illness is caused by external circumstances and if prayer doesn’t work, you are out of options. Science tells you that illness is caused by external circumstances and if medicine doesn’t work, you are out of options. Both lead to paralysis, and as I explained above, suffering is caused by such paralysis.

The world view I am suggesting removes this paralysis by stating that any form of suffering carries the possibility of learning an important lesson in life, a lesson that will benefit you far beyond this lifetime and your current state of suffering. Of course, the price you have to pay is that you have to accept ultimate responsibility for your life. Yet once you do that, you will never feel paralyzed again. Thus, your suffering will either be diminished or will be replaced by a joyful focus on growth.

Furthermore, as you apply yourself to discovering and learning the hidden lesson behind the outer situation, it is entirely possible that you will overcome the cause that created the material illness. And this can literally make the illness – no matter how severe – disappear as if by a miracle. Yet there are truly no miracles, just an application of natural laws that are beyond what is currently known by both science and religion.

The reality is that if a person is ill and accepts either of the belief systems dominating modern society, the inevitable result will be paralysis. This will block a resolution of the condition in the mind that caused the illness and thus effectively prevent a cure. Consider how many people believe their doctors when they are told that they have an incurable disease. And by accepting this, you block the possibility of a resolution of the cause.

Be aware that I am not here talking about the false hope promoted by so many Christian ministers. Giving prayers – even having an entire church pray for you – simply is not enough. Can you see that this is simply an expression of a pacifying belief system that says God, Mother Mary or myself must cure the illness for you through a miracle? In reality, you are the one who must bring about the “miracle,” the miracle of a resolution in your mind that changes material conditions.

Do you see that both science and religion are telling you that the material world is real and that material conditions have ultimate reality? What I am saying here is that the material world has only a temporary appearance and truly has no more reality than what you give it in your mind. All suffering on earth was created in the human mind. What has been created by the human mind can be uncreated by the mind—but only when the human mind is transformed into the mind of Christ. This will happen only when you discover and fully accept that the kingdom of God is within you and that the kingdom of God is at hand, meaning that you can raise your consciousness right now and thus change your outer conditions right now.

You will then be able to hold the immaculate concept – as Mother mary explains in her book – either for yourself or others. This is the most powerful thing you can do for anyone, and it involves never accepting any physical limitation as real but always focusing on the positive vision and the absolute knowledge – beyond normal faith – that the Ma-ter light will eventually outpicture the perfect image you are superimposing upon it. Yet to fully hold the immaculate concept, you cannot be a house divided against itself, and that is why you must seek to resolve the psychological conditions that created the illness in the first place.

When you come to the realization I describe here – a realization that is beyond faith because it is based on an application of the key of knowledge – you will know the truth in my statement that with men this is impossible but with God all things are possible. This entire website is dedicated to helping you discover and accept this reality, so study and apply!

Being willing to learn from a disease

TOPICS: Underlying lesson you have not learned – a disease to pay back karma – accept condition and make the best of it – do not fight with outer means but accept psychological cause – seek to learn the lesson –

Question: This is related to the previous question about disease. How is it that some people with terminal diseases are able to treat them naturally at all levels, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual, and others, who perhaps have a karmic cause for their disease, are not able to get better no matter what they do?

Answer from ascended master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels:

There are two main reasons for this, my beloved hearts. If you cannot heal a disease in any way, it can be because there is an underlying psychological condition that has not been resolved—because you have not yet seen what you need to see. You have not yet made the decision you need to make in order to rise above the condition.

But as Jesus has also explained, there can be some times where you choose to take on a physical disease to pay back a karma for the remainder of that lifetime. Sometimes people even take on disease in order to pay back humankind’s karma beyond their personal karma. And thus, the disease will not be healed because in your higher being you know that the disease is not meant to be healed. At least not until there has been resolution or that all the karma is paid back.

And so, again, I realize that it is always difficult to suffer from a physical disease. Nevertheless, the teachings of Jesus given earlier do apply here. Once you accept the condition and decide to make the best of it, then your suffering can be diminished greatly. And my beloved, I must tell you that there are some times when it is necessary to accept a physical disease before you can actually have it healed. In other words, there are some people who fight a disease with the will and with outer means – whether it be natural healing or traditional medicine – because they have actually not accepted the condition as being caused by their own consciousness.

And therefore, they have not started the process of re-evaluating their life and beliefs. They have not truly looked in the mirror. So they are simply trying to remove the outer symptoms rather than looking for the spiritual cause. And so, if the disease is the result of karma, well then you need to learn the lesson, you need to learn from that karma before the disease can be healed.

There are also those who take on a disease in order to force themselves to learn a certain lesson. And again, you can then have the situation where your outer mind rebels against the disease and seeks to heal it by any means available, whereas your higher being actually does not want the disease healed until your outer mind has learned the lesson.

And so the harder you fight against the disease, the more it will persist. Whereas if people would surrender and simply say, “What do I have to learn from this disease? Beloved Christ self, beloved Mother Mary, show me what I have to learn from this disease. Show me what I need to change in order to move beyond the state of consciousness that precipitated this physical disease.”
