The concept of anti-ego

Question: Recently on Facebook, someone put forward the idea of an “anti-ego”. And that is what we should be transcending. Others seem to think this was a great concept. I think the ego can play some very subtle games and this would be one of them. That would have us somewhat like a dog chasing his tail and never catching it. Can the Masters comments if there is an “anti-ego”.

Well, the ego is dualistic, so there’s always an “anti-“ to any idea you come up with in duality. And it’s clear that the ego will come up with the idea that there is an anti-ego. People have come up with various concepts about this.

And it doesn’t really matter for you who have the teaching you have because you just need to overcome all aspects of ego whatever the disguise may be, and you have the tools to work on this. So I don’t really want to comment any further on this topic.

Abortion vs. spiritual communication with the lifestream of an unborn baby

Question: I have a spiritual teacher who tells the story of becoming pregnant. She didn’t feel able to care for a baby at that time. So she went into meditation and told the baby she couldn’t do it. In response, the baby left. Could this form of spiritual communication be an alternative to medical abortion in the golden age?

Let me first say that it is of course possible that people can do this. And a number women throughout history have done similar things. But it requires a certain level of consciousness to be able to have that kind of communication. It isn’t something that can be an alternative in the short term. Now, can it be an alternative in the golden age? Well, yes, but there will be many other alternatives in the golden age. In fact, you can really not say that there will be alternatives because things will shift so much that there will be an entirely different awareness.

And the primary thing that will happen in the golden age as we move further into it is that an accidental pregnancy will become very, very rare. Simply because there will be a higher awareness and people will not engage in sexual intercourse without knowing how to prevent a pregnancy if they don’t want it. And so, this will be the primary shift that will happen which will basically, as we move further, make medical abortion a very rare occurrence that will only happen in the case that the life of the mother is at stake.

It really is a much greater shift that will happen where the entire issue of sexuality, the attitude to this, will change so much in the golden age. That is just too big of a topic to go into here but it will be a very dramatic shift that will be far reaching as we move further and further into the golden age.

Question about bacteria

Question: It is a materialistic question, but I would like to understand the topic better. The masters have said that bacteria were created by the low consciousness of human beings. In biology we use DNA in order to tell how old the lineage of an organism is. Bacteria are very ancient according to this. If human beings created bacteria, then how can it appear that bacteria are more ancient than humans? I have imagined ways this can be. But it could be that by the time human consciousness created these organisms, the cells of these microorganisms became denser before our bodies, and the ones from other organisms became dense, or the whole idea of using DNA to track the past organisms or to track the past of organisms is flawed.

This is a complex question. And we have sometimes said that there are questions that we cannot give a full answer to because we haven’t given enough background teachings. But I will give a brief answer. In Maitrea’s book about Spiritual Freedom, you have the concept that there have been two parallel evolutionary tracks associated with earth. And one of them was what you see as the process of biological evolution that started a very, very long time ago, before there were human beings in the physical octave. But even back then, there were beings in the emotional, mental and identity realm. And what happened in the physical octave was not disconnected from what happened in the three higher octaves.

So the short and simple answer is that it is a matter of how you use the word “human beings”. If you expand it to incorporate self-aware beings who embodied as you might say, in all of the four octaves associated with the physical universe, then you see that even before there were human beings in the physical realm, there were self-aware beings in the higher realms, that influenced what was happening at the physical level. The consciousness of these beings, whether you want to call them human beings or not, in the three higher realms could influence biological evolution, even before there were human beings in embodiment.

But you also need to recognize that even though there were bacteria before there were human beings, not all of the bacteria you have today are that ancient or had the same properties millions of years ago as they have today. And therefore, many of the diseases you have today that are caused by bacteria were caused after human being started taking physical embodiment.

Dedication to the spiritual path

Question: The book “My Lives” describes the many years Jesus spent learning from the three wise men, his spiritual teachers. He went through many initiations and dedicated himself full-time to the process. When I compare this to my more limited process of reading some teachings, giving occasional invocations and attending a few conferences, I am concerned that I am not doing enough. Can you comment on how we think about the example provided by Jesus in relation to our own lives today? Can we still grow significantly and potentially ascend without going through such an intense training process in this lifetime.

It’s one of these questions where whatever you say, people can interpret it any way they want. This could be said to be true of all questions, but especially a question like this. Because on the one hand, we have in this dispensation especially encouraged you to find a balance, where you do not go to the extremes and you lead a more balanced lifestyle where you can have a job, you can have a family, you can live a relatively normal life and you’re still working on your spirituality. And this is a perfectly valid model, especially in the Aquarian Age.

However, it is also necessary to recognize that in previous ages the collective consciousness was much heavier than it is today, so it required a greater effort to raise yourself above it. It’s also necessary to recognize that I had a specific mission that in some ways was more demanding than the mission most of you have today. And that required a certain dedication from me in order to get to that point where I could start fulfilling that mission.

You can look at the life of this messenger and see that he also has a specific mission. And not all of you have the same mission. He needed to go through a certain process that was necessary for him to raise his consciousness. And that required him actually to put in a certain dedication, a certain determination that most of you do not have to emulate.

That being said, there are some of you who also have the potential to manifest a certain mission and that means you will have to be more dedicated than the average spiritual seeker. This is something that can only be understood at an individual level. And therefore, what I mean when I say that whatever I say people can interpret it, is that your outer mind can interpret this answer any way you want.

And so you need to make an effort here to step back from the outer mind. Because there will be some who will feel: I have an important mission, I want to have an important mission, therefore, I should really dedicate myself and this only causes them to go into a very unbalanced approach to the spiritual path and an unbalanced lifestyle. But there will be others who might with their outer minds interpret it as: Oh yeah, I can continue to live the lifestyle I’m living now and just have the spiritual path as a kind of side interest or underlying interest in my life. And that might prevent them from manifesting the higher potential of their divine plan.

The way out of this is, of course, to work on your individual discernment, which requires you to work on these separate selves going back to the primal self. And then when you get over this primal self, which is something all of you can do with a reasonable effort, then you will have a more clear vision: What is actually my divine plan? What does it require of me to get to a certain point, to a certain level of consciousness?

And so, my recommendation here is that you all work on these separate selves and really try to get to the bottom of your primal self, which shows you your fundamental relationship to this planet, how you see yourself and what you can and cannot do on this planet. And that then gives you the freedom to know: What is my role in this lifetime? Is it to live a relatively normal lifestyle and give an example of how I can live a normal lifestyle while still being a spiritual person? Or do I have some kind of mission that requires me to make a greater effort to reach a certain level of consciousness before I can fulfill that mission?

U.S. interference in other countries

Question: What shift in consciousness are most Americans ready to make with regard to not tolerating U.S. interference in other countries?

Well, the primary shift that most Americans are ready to make is really the shift that hits their pocketbooks where they can say that: Is it reasonable that America maintains the largest military in the world, so that we can, so to speak, police the world? They are also ready to make the shift to realizing that when America talks about policing the world, it is really not making the world safe for democracy, but making the world safe for the multinational corporations that are using the U.S. government and the U.S. military to secure their market positions. Many Americans are ready to see this.

Another aspect of this is, of course, that many Americans have someone in their family or they know someone who has at one point or another served in the military. And they are ready to make the shift of saying should we continue to give American lives, our sons and daughters’ lives, to promote these causes in other countries that really are not necessarily causes that we support. And so that would be what most Americans can grasp right now—the lives of American servicemen and women, and the taxpayer dollars spent on something that really isn’t in the interest of the American people.

There are many other shifts that a large number of Americans can make, as we have talked about, both at the conference last year, as we’ll talk here, and at other conferences, and one of the shifts is definitely that they start seeing through this black and white thinking that there isn’t a simplistic solution to things and that is actually one of the potentials of the current president that he can make people see that his worldview is way too simplistic and black and white, and that there was a large portion of the American voters who voted for him because they also have this simplistic way of thinking that there is a simple solution to a problem and that this simply isn’t correct it isn’t working.

A higher potential of Argentina

Question: This is a question regarding my country in South America, Argentina. It’s always seemed to me that we share a common destiny with the USA, but in terms of material and spiritual outcomes were far behind our potential as a nation. Is this potential just a collective dream? Or do we really have a divine plan to fulfill?

Every nation has a divine plan, in the sense that we who are the ascended masters we work with every nation, set up a goal that that nation can strive towards. We work with all of the people in that nation who are open to it. There is no nation that doesn’t have a much higher potential than they are currently manifesting. Take note of what I said: There is no nation that doesn’t have a higher potential than what they’re currently manifesting. And of course, you can go around the world and you can look at nations where you don’t have the liberties, you don’t have the standard of living and say that they are further from that potential.

But there really is no nation that is living up to its highest potential and that couldn’t benefit from truly asking itself these questions: What is our true potential? Why are we not living up to it? And Argentina has made some efforts to create a more free economy that is based on its own but what all countries in South America really need to do is, is look at the fact that they don’t need to all emulate the United States and create the same kind of society that you have in the United States. Because you have the potential to create a more compassionate society that isn’t as ruled by a power elite as what you see in the United States.

And the same goes for many other regions of the world, where in Europe you already see that many nations are less dominated by a power elite than for example the United States. You need to recognize that the bigger the nation, the more the it will attract the kind of people who want unlimited power or riches, because in a bigger nation, there is more power to be had and there is a bigger market. When you have smaller nations, you see that there is a potential that you can manifest a country that is more based on that basic humanity that we have talked about.

Black and white thinking in Russia and USA

Question: What dualistic spirit pair is shared in the psyche of former Soviet Union citizens and US citizens?

Well, the primary one is simply black and white thinking, where you have the underlying belief that any question can be reduced to a simple yes or no statement, whether you are either for this or you are against this. But you have many variations of these dualistic spirits that are set up: you have capitalism, you have communism, for example, that are two dualistic polarities, where you always see that one is right and one is wrong. And it doesn’t matter whether you believe communism is right and capitalism is wrong or the other way around. You’re still trapped in this dualistic thinking that there are only these two options.

Many people in Russia are still looking for a system, a simple solution that this is right. That is why they were open to this communist manipulation. And many people in America are looking at the same thing. They believe that capitalism is a system that will take care of itself and regulate the market.

But as we have been trying to show those who are open to it that we need to step beyond this simple black and white thinking and realize that the problems that the world is facing are much more complex, more much more nuanced and faceted. You cannot look for these simplistic solutions where you say either this or that. Whenever you have a debate that revolves around two options where one is right and one is wrong, you know you have a debate as manipulated by the fallen beings and that is based on this dualistic black and white thinking.

Leadership in the golden age

Question: What does leadership look like in the Aquarian Age?

Well, naturally it is a many faceted answer, but the short answer is that it looks like servant leadership. It is based on the concept discussed by Jesus that “he who would be greatest among you, let him be the servant of all.” Naturally, in the Aquarian Age, as we move further and further into it, they will actually come a phase where the more advanced societies begin to identify that there are certain beings who have a strong desire to become leaders. But who also have, what you today call narcissistic personality disorder and therefore do not have the ability to be leaders. They may have the ability to be forceful and manipulative leaders, but they do not have the ability to be the kind of leaders that you want in a more aware society.

Because you do not want leaders who force, you want people who serve as leaders and therefore, there will be a shift there will even be a phase where society will begin to identify these people with narcissistic personality disorder and prevent them from becoming leaders.

There will be a time where there will be special programs created to educate leaders in all levels of society and as part of these programs, there will be a method developed to deliberately weed out those who have the narcissistic tendencies and therefore cannot become servant leaders. Naturally servant leadership is a complex concept that has many different facets that I do not intend to go into in a brief answer. It may be something I will comment on at some future time, but not in the immediate future, because it is a complex issue.

How free is people’s will?

Question: In the My Lives book, there are a number of teachings about free will, including how it is possible for people to use their free will to harm or kill others. Yet the masters have also discussed how those who kill others have their mind taken over by falling beings. If you interfere with someone whose mind is taken over by fallen beings, are you interfering with free will? Are the karmic effects difference depending on how much of the person’s mind is taken over and how free their will really is?

Well, first of all, a person whose mind is taken over by the fallen beings does not have free will. You are not interfering with free will. But of course, the reality is that the person did make a choice that led to them having their mind taken over by the fallen beings, they always make more than one choice, many choices. But nevertheless, the question about free will is really how free is people’s will? For most people, it is not very free at all. They are hardly ever making free choices. Many people have not made free choices for lifetimes because they have been so taken over by the fallen beings and the mass consciousness.

But nevertheless, for you as a spiritual student, the question is not whether you are interfering with people’s free will or not, or how free people’s will is because you do not want to do anything that forces other people. You want to share your insights, your process, your understanding, and leave other people free to respond as they want. This is the challenge that is described in the My Lives book, that when you come as an avatar, you see the suffering on earth. You see that it is because people have been manipulated by the fallen beings and you want to free people. But the question is, are you willing to force people in order to free them or do you actually respect free will? Because if you start forcing people, you very gradually can get involved in the fallen consciousness and this has happened to many avatars, where you start fighting the fallen beings or trying to use force to free people from the fallen beings. This does not help free the earth from the fallen beings.

Donald Trump and the black and white thinking in America

Question: Donald Trump seems to be viciously attacked by the Democrats, the media and many known power elites. Moreover, many liberal minded people that I meet seem to have a deep-seated anger against Trump. He can’t seem to get through a single week in three years without having to fight to keep his presidency. My impression of Donald Trump is that he is challenging many of the established strongholds of the power elites inside and outside America, and exposing their control apparatus and negative beasts. What explains the strong reactions by the power elite and liberals generally against Trump? Does the election of Trump signify a raising of the consciousness of the American people? And is Donald Trump sponsored by the Brotherhood? Has he been contacted by other representatives of the Brotherhood?

What have we attempted to teach you as spiritual students? Your outer circumstances are a reflection of your inner circumstances. This also applies if you are president of the United States. The fact of the matter is that Donald Trump has a certain state of consciousness. He thinks in very black and white terms. He often looks for someone to blame, someone who is a scapegoat and what he is subconsciously saying to the universe is that he enjoys this kind of a struggle as long as he comes out on top. He is subconsciously attracting this kind of situation to himself.

Now, of course, this is not to excuse the democrats and their anger against him. But this goes back to the Clinton presidency, where the republicans were equally vicious in trying to impeach Clinton. And so many democrats carry with them the anger and the resentment from that process, and now they see their chance to, so to speak, get even with the republicans. T

his just shows you the level of politics that is currently there in the United States. It just shows you how people on both sides are trapped in the duality consciousness, how they are not able to free themselves from these, what Mother Mary has called, petty problems and look at what is good for the country, what is good for the American people. How can we do what we are actually elected to do and instead of being tied up in these meaningless squabbles, meaningless squabbles that are inconsequential to the future of this country. This goes both for the impeachment of Clinton and the attempt to impeach Trump.

It does not matter what the reality is behind it. Whether Trump did this or whether he lied about this. Or whether Clinton had sex with that woman or not, what matters is the intent behind it. The intent is not to defend the country, the intent is simply destructive. But this is also because Donald Trump himself has that dualistic state of consciousness, where some of the things he does are not done from a higher awareness of wanting to challenge the power elite. He is just simply defining certain people or institutions as his enemy and he is attacking them from the dualistic state of consciousness.

The election of Donald Trump does not signify a raising of the collective consciousness. It signifies that there are still so many Americans that are stuck in the black and white thinking that they elected a president who could act out that black and white thinking to a degree where hopefully more people will see that this is just not a constructive way to do political business in the United States.

It does not mean that I am thereby defending the Democratic Party, which is just as stuck in dualistic thinking. Really, the need is, as we have talked about before, to change the equation in Washington, to perhaps have a third party to move towards Direct Democracy. But it is also that the people wake up and demand something better, demand better leadership, as we talked about last year.

As I have said before, I attempt to work with any president that is elected. I attempt to work with the administration and to bring forth ideas that can bring the country forward. Can I do this with Donald Trump and his administration? Yes, to some degree. Could I do it with the previous administration? Yes, to some degree. It does not really matter whether one administration is better than another because none of them are completely open to higher ideas, or have been.

What we need to do is get the American people to the point where they demand something better! They demand a congress, a senate and a president who will rise above these petty squabbles that have, quite frankly, as a beast taken over both parties. That caused them to be engaged in this gridlock, where they are not able to come together across the aisle and create a majority of senators and congressmen who just do what is obviously best for the country instead of playing party politics.

Question about Nikola Tesla

Question: Will Tesla return for the Golden Age?

Well the soul that was embodied as Nikola Tesla has already taken embodiment again and is again a scientist. I am certainly not going to reveal who it is. But the question could in a sense be said to be meaningless because Tesla, of course has not returned as Tesla. When you have a certain lifetime, however that lifetime unfolds, you are learning from that lifetime, you are growing from that lifetime. And if you really are growing, and Tesla is one of these souls who was growing, then you do not want to repeat your last lifetime. You want to transcend it and you want to go beyond it.

What happens is that when you have one of these famous people, people in embodiment build some kind of image of how they think that person was. It is in most cases completely out of touch with how the person really was. They do not want Tesla to come back, they want the image of Tesla to come back, and therefore do whatever they think that image of Tesla that could have done if it had not been interrupted. That is not really a realistic way to look at it.

You know, you need to actually give the souls of these famous people the freedom to move on in their spiritual unfoldment, according to their own choices. There are people in embodiment who can create such a strong pull that it can actually affect the souls and prevent them from moving on. This is certainly something that I would have had to deal with if I had been more famous in my last lifetime. But because I only became really known centuries later, it was not such an issue for me. But there are actually famous people who had the potential to ascend, but they felt such a pull from the people who had known them in their last lifetime, that they were not able to let go of it and move on.

Intellectual understanding vs. connecting to the heart

Question: I sometimes think about deeper reasons for why the universe was made and why other universes were made. Is God trying to understand or have every possible experience? Perhaps I’m being too theoretical and should be more practical in my approach? Should I continue to entertain these thoughts? Or are they largely a waste of time?

Well we have given teachings on why God has created the universe, and it is to give extensions of God’s self-aware beings, an environment in which they can grow. Beyond that there isn’t really any sophisticated reason for it. It is not like God is trying to have every possible experience.

The question really is once you study these teachings, if there is any point in speculating about it. It is necessary to recognize that some spiritual students have, over lifetimes, built this desire to understand things from an intellectual, linear, rational or analytical perspective. And as we have tried to say many times there is a limit to what the linear mind can actually understand about many issues.

There are many, many spiritual people who have really slowed down their progress by being too focused on these very subtle intellectual questions, because there is no real answer to them, but they still tie up your mental energy and your attention. You will even find that there are many spiritual teachings out there who attempt to give a very, very complex worldview that is really just meant to keep people tied in this very intellectual approach to the spiritual path.

If you want an example, The Urantia Book is one example of this, but there are certainly others. There are even many channel teachings that give a very complex intellectual image. This can really become a detour on people’s path.

There are people who have delayed their progress because for several lifetimes, they were so focused on this, that they really did not connect to the heart. They did not go into their hearts, they did not sharpen their intuition, because they thought that coming to this intellectual understanding was the key to spiritual growth.

And you need some intellectual understanding, but it is certainly not all you need. You need to go beyond intellectual understanding and go into your heart use your intuition to have a vision that cannot be expressed in words and therefore cannot really be dealt with, with the analytical mind.

Question about Columbia

Question: I would like to ask the Masters opinion on the peace deal in Colombia between the guerrilla groups and the government. I also would like to know if the people from a country with a lot of violence, like in Colombia, can govern themselves even though the democratic process can be manipulated by armed groups.

Answer from the Ascended Master Jesus through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Washington, D.C. (USA) in 2019.

Well it is clear that the peace process or the peace accord is better than the state of warfare that was there before. It is also clear that it does not necessarily resolve the underlying dynamic where you have these people who are in opposition to the government, and who are willing to use violence to assert their will. You have, in a country like Colombia, a very, very complex situation because of the drug cartels and their influence both on the government and on the guerrilla movements. It is a very, very complex issue there that does not have a simple solution.

But in terms of whether the people could govern themselves, well, the people can always govern themselves if they are not manipulated by an elite. That is what we are trying to say. Of course, this doesn’t mean that we look at any country in the world and say: “Well, sure, tomorrow we could change the situation so that people could govern themselves.” Many countries, in fact, all countries would have to go through a process where gradually, people come to see through the manipulation of the elite and see the various elites that exist in their country and therefore free themselves from that manipulation.

What we are giving in our dictations is a higher vision of the potential. And it is clear that if you took the Colombian people, they could certainly create a better situation in the country than the rivaling power elite you have that are seeking to influence the government, that are working through the drug cartels, that are working through the guerrilla movements.

It is clear that the people would not make those kinds of choices, those kinds of violent choices, that people would not be selling drugs, that people would not be kidnapping people for ransom, and all of these kinds of things. If you could free the people from the subtle lies of the elites, then they could indeed govern themselves. But that would be a process that would take some time.

The higher perspective on homosexuality

Question: Many say love is love. Is this correct? If not, if ever a homosexual wanted to heal this aspect of their psychology how would they do so? Are there any programs endorsed by the ascended masters for healing a person from homosexuality?

Answer from the Ascended Master Jesus through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Washington, D.C. (USA) in 2019.

Well, we have given a number of teachings on homosexuality in the past. But I will comment on the statement that love is love. It’s quite frankly an example of serpentine logic. Where you want to take this idea or create a certain idea of love, that love is always good. And therefore, there should be no restrictions and no boundaries and this and that. That being said, of course there can be love, genuine love between two people of the same sex. You have many examples of this: father and son, mother and daughter. But you can also have people who identify themselves with their sexuality and are attracted to the same sex that can have genuine love.

So, really, the idea of curing someone from their homosexuality is not, despite what we have said before, which was said for a certain level of consciousness—it’s not really the highest idea. It’s not that we have a desire to take all homosexuals on earth and run them through this program that cures them of this affliction.

What we desire is to see all people grow. And what we desire is to see all people come to the point, where as I just said about the definition of a spiritual being compared to a human being, you are not identified with these outer things, including your sexuality. Whether you are heterosexual or homosexual, you’re not identified with it. And if you can come to that point where you are not fully identified with your sexuality, it doesn’t mean you stop being sexually active.

It doesn’t even mean you stop being a homosexual. It just means that you practice it with a different awareness. And can that be done? Certainly, and it has been done by people. It is being done by people today. And at that point, it’s where we as ascended masters say, that’s where free-will needs to run its course and people need to have a certain experience until they’ve had enough of it and can therefore choose to let it go. This goes for any condition that you experience as human beings.

Again, we have tried in the past, to sort of shock people out of their identification with their sexuality because what has happened is that many homosexuals, because of the dynamics of the gay rights movement and the persecution of homosexuals, they have been propelled into identifying more strongly with their sexuality than they otherwise would have done. And we would like people to grow out of that, where they can reach a higher awareness—where they are not as identified with it. And that really is all I want to say at this point because again, we have given teachings that are still valid.

But you can, of course, come to look at those teachings from a higher level of awareness. I do want to say that there is a very strong movement in Christian churches of condemning homosexuality. And there is a very strong movement where people are projecting and have been projecting for a very long time that God or Jesus condemns homosexuals. This is a human creation inspired by the fallen beings. It’s not a reality.

God does not condemn homosexual people. I, as the Ascended Master Jesus Christ do not condemn homosexual people. I seek to help all people be free of whatever human condition is trapping them. But I have no condemnation of any condition. And so, it is a complete unreality, the amount of condemnation that has been created by Christian churches, and it is certainly something that you can look at and come to see for the unreality it is, and therefore you can come to connect to the reality of who I am and the love that I have for all people. And the willingness I have to help all people grow and transcend any condition that limits them. And if you don’t feel that your homosexuality is limiting you then I still have unconditional love for you, and acceptance of your right to use your free-will to have a certain experience until you’ve had enough of it.

How to get healthy personal boundaries

Question: What is the cause of and solution for enmeshment trauma which occurs when an individual is raised in an environment where there is a lack of clear emotional boundaries among family members.

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Washington, D.C. (USA) in 2019.

Well the cause is of course that in past lives you have received traumas that have broken down the boundaries between yourself, your own energy field, your own four lower bodies and those of other people. The fallen beings want to steal your energy, they want to steal people’s energy, and so they try to expose people to such trauma. And also induce in them certain beliefs where they feel like they should be sensitive to other people, you should help all other people, you should give them your energy, that they can steal your energy.

And this they do by breaking down that natural sense of who you are as an individual being, your individual four lower bodies. They violate the boundaries to such an extent that those boundaries are blurred and you cannot make a clear distinction about when it’s appropriate to give other people your energy and when it’s not.

The solution is obviously that you use the tools and teachings to identify these selves and the beliefs behind those selves that makes you think that you should give other people your energy or that you don’t have the right to refuse other people and say no. So you need to use our teachings and recognize that you have a right to be an individual and to grow as an individual without being pulled back by other people because they are stealing your energy.

And you need to come to that point when you make that conscious decision. And this will not happen automatically by getting rid of a certain self. But you may need to get rid of a certain self before you’re able to make the decision, but you need to make that decision: “I will not allow other people to steal my energy. I will not give my energy to other people to the detriment of my own spiritual progress”.

Question about the next messenger

Question: Okay, I want to segue on that there was a question in here that I cannot find so I am going to paraphrase it, but it was for you, they wanted to know if you were training someone as a messenger, in other words to take your place when you leave?

Answer from Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Washington, D.C. (USA) in 2019.

Okay! Not in my consciousness. But in a sense you’re all being trained as messengers to carry the message on and to carry the ideas on and the whole tradition. What that means for you individually I don’t have any opinion about it. But the concept of a messenger can be seen in a more broad way, where anybody who brings a new idea is a messenger in that respect, and you know, in previous ascended master organizations, there was a lot of idolatry around the position of messenger.

And obviously, the masters are not encouraging that here and I’m not encouraging I don’t need it. I see myself as not being superior because I’m the messenger. It’s a specialized job that I’m doing. And you all have your individual missions that are just as important. In fact, it’s meaningless to talk about more or less important, and you just need to discover what that is for you individually. There was a time where I thought that I could train other messengers but I, I realized this is something really the masters do, and at this point, at least, they haven’t decided to create some kind of a program for teaching people this.

Kim’s perspective on leaving the earth behind

Question: This is a question for you Kim. Is it true that this is your last lifetime?

Yes. Unless I make some horrendous mistake. Well, I mean again, you know, it’s almost meaningless to answer a question like that, because we’re sitting here in our present level of consciousness and with all the illusions we still have left until we get to the 144th level. And once we are out of embodiment, we gain a perspective that we just don’t have now. And so that means that things could change, you know, you could have actually qualified for your ascension, but volunteer to go back into embodiment or you may not have qualified for your ascension even though you thought so.

But my current understanding is that I definitely don’t have to come back into embodiment. And right now I can’t see why I would make that choice. But again, that could change you know, if you have that different perspective. So for me, it’s not even something I think about anymore. I will cross that bridge when I come to it because I know I will have a different perspective when I’m out of embodiment.

What does it mean to be a spiritual being?

Question: When the ascended masters say that we are spiritual people, what exactly do they mean? And all lifestreams are essentially of the Spirit. How do the ascended masters to find a spiritual person?

We, first of all, mean a person who is not identified with the physical body and the outer mind, or personality. You realize you are more than the body. You will not die and disappear and go into oblivion when the brain dies. You also more than this outer personality that you were brought up as in your particular culture and family background, and therefore you’re not fully identified with this, the more you begin to raise yourself above this outer consciousness, the less you become identified with the body and the outer mind, and with your culture and your family background and all of this.

And so that means you begin to recognize that you are more than what most people define as a human being. It’s not that you aren’t a human being, you’re still in a human body, but you’re not fully identified as a human being that is limited by whatever definition you have in your culture, of what human beings can and cannot do. You realize you have a potential to raise your consciousness, to shift your identity, so you no longer identify yourself as a human being.

Now you can say, what was my mission 2000 years ago? What did I try to explain is that you all have the Christ potential. You all have the Christ potential to recognize that you came from a higher source. You did not come from dust, you are not going to return to dust. And therefore, you have the potential to raise your consciousness, put on the mind of Christ, and shift your sense of identity, where you identify yourself as a spiritual being, as a son or daughter of God as more than the strict definition, the narrow definition of a human being.

Now, of course, everything can be abused by the ego and some spiritual people have over the years, taken this to get themselves in a position of spiritual pride where they feel superior to others because they are “spiritual people”. But, again, there’s nothing we can say that cannot be misinterpreted. So, this is the short definition of what it means to be a spiritual being. You are not fully identified as a human being.

Spiritual perspective on migraine

Question: About 12% of the general population suffers from migraine. For some people, it is so severe that they cannot function in their daily lives. Can the masters give us a spiritual perspective or spiritual cure for migraine?

Well, despite what I said earlier about the placebo effect, really should be reversed and see that it’s the physical cures that are the placebo. It is of course, so that in the physical octave, because of the density that is there right now, there are many physical causes and you need to, of course, be willing to use, as we said whatever technology is available to deal with those causes. This means that for many illnesses, there are different levels of causes. And the same goes for migraine as for many other of these very complex diseases.

Migraine is a very complex disease. You cannot point to a single cause and say, here’s the cause, here’s the magical pill that will fix it. For different people, there are different causes. There are some people for whom there is a physical cause that can be inherited, because it runs in the family. There is something in the brain chemistry, but usually in the electrical activity of the brain that is not balanced and this gives a physical cause.

But there are also more complex causes that are of a more psychological nature whereby we mean that they have a component in the emotional, mental and identity bodies. And this, of course, is something you can work on.

Now in general, what I want to say here is, that if you have a specific physical disease, that is one of these diseases that isn’t life threatening, that isn’t acute, if it is something you carry with you over a long period of time, then naturally you should use whatever physical means are available.

But in order to resolve the deeper causes of this, you use the teachings on the separate selves. And you try to find out what it is—what kind of a self you have, that gives you this particular disease, this symptom. And just to use the example of migraine, what is it that happens when you have a migraine?

It basically is that your brain refuses to function normally. Whether it’s a headache, whether it’s the other symptoms of migraine where you have disturbed vision, it’s almost as if there’s a part of your brain that shuts down.

And that’s because the underlying cause here is that when you received your birth trauma, there was a certain element of life on earth that you didn’t want to face. It was too overwhelming and you made the decision – I do not want to face this situation. And over various lifetimes this can have been reinforced to the point where you have built a mechanism in your three higher bodies that causes you to sometimes shut down (your brain to shut down). Because there’s something in life you don’t want to face. Now, this may not today have anything to do with your original birth trauma. It may have morphed into a more subtle cause, a more subtle self, but there is something you don’t want to face.

Now this can for some people who are more intellectual, it can relate to the mental body. Where when you received your birth trauma, remember again, you descended at the 48th level of consciousness so you had a number of illusions that you saw live through. So you were exposed to a trauma. And because you are the kind of person who wants to understand everything, you were shocked by the fact that you could not understand this. You could not understand why this was happening, or even why God allowed it to happen, or what you did to cause this to happen, why they did this to you.

And this doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s something you don’t want to face, other than you are trying to get yourself to consciously recognize that you cannot understand everything on earth, with the mental, intellectual mind. So therefore, when you are facing a situation where there are some things you cannot understand and explain there’s this subconscious process, the separate self that shuts down your brain. So, you cannot think rationally, logically, intellectually, analytically.

And what you need to do then is come to see these selves and then realize some of the teachings we have given for example, in the My Lives book, that there is no rational explanation for why the fallen beings do what they do. And you may in some cases, look at your own situation, the people that have been close to you, often family and you may find that there may be a person in your family that may not be a fallen being but could be a fallen being, because many spiritual people have chosen to embody with fallen beings in order to learn certain lessons. And this person is behaving in such an erratic illogical manner that you cannot explain this rationally, intellectually. And what you need to do is to stop trying to explain it, stop wanting to understand everything with the intellectual mind. And that’s why you have this self that shuts down your brain when you are around these people.

And you need to then work with this and come to the point where you realize and accept, you fully accept there’s nothing here that can be understood, it cannot be explained. And you accept that you don’t have to explain it. But what you can do is, you can understand the bigger context of the fallen beings and free-will and all of the teachings we have given on this, where you make peace with the fact that you cannot understand it.

And so it can also be simply that trying to understand this that you cannot understand, is such a strain on your higher bodies, especially your mental body, that it spills over in the brain. There are brain centers that are tied to the emotional body. There are brain centers that are tied to the mental body. There are brain centers that are tied to the identity body. And so the brain centers that are tied to the mental body, are in most cases, the ones that produce the migraine, and it can be because of this strain, it’s just too much. You have this desire to understand, but the brain has no way of understanding—the mental body has no way of understanding. And it’s almost like you have an appliance that overheats. And it shuts off the power, only in your case it doesn’t shut off the power. It gives you a headache.

The morning after pill

Question: What is the ascended masters position on the morning after pill?

The physical body and the death of a separate self

Question: What happens in the physical body when we let a separate self die?

It depends on the nature of that separate self. There are some separate selves that can be linked to a physical illness. If you let the self die, it can clear up the illness, it can even cure an illness completely. You will know that there are some extreme examples of people who have had the symptoms of a specific illness and then they could shift into a different personality and the symptoms were not there. This is called split personality syndrome, but it is actually that you shift from one self to another and you are totally identified with the certain self.

It can in some cases clear up an illness when you let a self die. But what it will also do to the physical body is give the body more energy. And in many cases it can make the body more relaxed. It can allow you to, for example, sleep better when you overcome a certain self that is constantly putting the body in a state of alertness because it’s afraid of some kind of threat that could come up at any moment. This is the cause of many insomnia problems or many sleep related problems. There are many effects that this can have. But there are also some selves that relate more to the emotional, mental or identity body and therefore do not have a direct effect on the physical body.

The lack of personal ambition and fulfilling your divine plan

Question: My question is related to previous answers that talk about spiritual people not being very engaged in life. I feel I’m very eager for the spiritual side of life. But I am not ambitious for achieving something like money, status, maybe even a partner. No big desires of achieving something materially but content with a good enough material life. Are these material desires important for spiritual people? Or the lack of these are symptoms, that we are still not connected to our divine plans, or in oneness with all life?

Well it’s natural, my beloved, for most spiritual people, not to have big ambitions about a material lifestyle. It’s just what happens when you reach a certain level of consciousness. You realize that there is something you want more than having an affluent material lifestyle or career or having power.

These desires have fallen away in past lives. But of course you have to be balanced, you have to be careful to tune into what is your divine plan. Because it may not be your divine plan to, so to speak: “bumble through life”, not having a steady income, not having a fixed place to live, not having a structured lifetime. I’m not saying it couldn’t be for some time part of your divine plan to do this. But it may not be part of your divine plan to do this, and certainly not for the rest of your life.

The way to go about this is to realize that it is not a matter of your personal desire. You have people, for example, who have a strong personal desire to have a certain standard of living or to have a particular career. And it’s then important that they spend a lifetime or maybe several lifetimes, pursuing that desire until they’ve had enough of it. But you’ve already had enough of it in past lifetimes. But nevertheless, you need to tune in because for many of you, it’s part of your divine plan, that you attain a certain position in society, a certain job, maybe even as an elected official, where you can bring forth new ideas. And that means you need then to do what you need to do to get that position, whether it’s an education, whether it’s working your way up in a job, whatever it may be for you individually. So they are in fact many spiritual people who have adopted this “less a fair lifestyle”. But it has not been the highest potential of their divine plans, because it has prevented them from reaching some kind of position in society.

There are some of you that have it as part of your divine plan to attain a certain position, because only by attaining that position will people listen to you. And it’s not your personal ambition to attain the position. And from a certain standpoint, you even might think it’s somewhat ridiculous to have to jump through all these hoops to get this position. But if it’s part of your divine plan to get people to listen to you then this is where you need to take my saying: “render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s and unto God that which is God’s”. What is God’s is: Your divine plan, getting in that position. What is Caesar’s is: You do what you have to do to get in a position where you can do God’s work and spread those ideas.

Just to give one example: If it is in your divine plan to bring forth the theory of relativity, then you need to do what you need to do to get a degree as a physicist. And it may be ridiculous what you have to do to get to a university and get a PhD. But nevertheless, you just do it because you see that it serves a bigger purpose. And therefore, you just need to get it out of the way.

An unplanned pregnancy

Question: On the askrealjesus.com website, Jesus gives a comprehensive teaching on abortion, pointing out how each potential life functions as an opportunity to grow, balance karma and fulfill their divine plan. When is this potential actualize? Namely, at conception, heartbeat, brainwaves, or at some other point? Or is there a spiritual point such as when the lifestream enters the body? If that point is not at conception, is there a period of time during which a woman could get an abortion without interfering with the spiritual potential of the pregnancy?

It isn’t really relevant to ask when this happens in the physical process of the pregnancy, because the pregnancy does not start with conception. Well, the physical pregnancy does. But the process of a soul coming into embodiment doesn’t start at conception. It starts long before. It even starts when the woman makes her divine plan. There is no period where you could say: “The woman can have an abortion and not interfere with the incoming lifestream”. It just isn’t realistic to say that.

And so what women need to do is to tune individually into their divine plan and see whether they could still fulfill their divine plan by having the child and giving it up for adoption. Or what exactly was it that you chose for this. There is really from a spiritual, karmic viewpoint no accidental pregnancy. And this, however, is in the current situation – the current level of the collective consciousness.

As we said earlier, there will come a point in a golden age where an unexpected or unplanned pregnancy will become almost impossible, a non occurrence. This will mean that there will be some women who may not have children that they might have had in today’s more dense environment. But this will be as a result of what they chose in their divine plans. You see that when a woman gets accidentally pregnant today, it is something that you chose in your divine plan. Otherwise it would not have happened, except in very rare instances.

The experience of total pain

Question: In the “My Lives” book, the protagonist goes through the experience of total pain. They detach from their physical body and become open to programming in their three higher bodies. This opening up to programming from fallen beings influences the protagonists to carry and to act out certain beliefs that are not his own. What is the purpose of this mechanism that allows fallen beings to program us under total pain? Why does this mechanism exist?

Well, it isn’t a mechanism that exists because it’s created by God or the ascended masters. It’s again one of these extreme consequences of free will. Where when free will is taken so far out, then there is no restriction other than there is, as we said the second death in the end, where the I Am Presence chooses: “I will not allow that extension of myself to be in existence beyond this point.” But up until that point, the I Am Presence cannot put any restrictions on free will as God and the ascended masters cannot. The mechanism is not by any means created by God. It is created by the fallen beings in order to manipulate and specifically to manipulate and destroy avatars and prevent him from threatening the fallen beings reign on a planet like Earth.

And this is something that as an avatar, you are actually aware of the risk. But there are many of you who have chosen to set aside those risks, and still come into embodiment. As has been said, and as certainly could be said about myself: “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.” And this is indeed why many of us chose to embody on unnatural planets. But this is not to say that fools can’t grow and that fools cannot learn something that they would not learn unless they did something foolish. Fools can actually learn something that angels would not learn. And that is again one of the outplayings of free will.

Spiritual perspective on (not) prolonging life artificially

Question: The masters have spoken before about the issue of assisted dying. Just to be clear, if a person contracts an illness, like the example of cancer, and instructs the doctor, for example, six months before the likely day of death to kill the person. This is potentially a karma making activity? Is the karma equivalent to suicide? For the doctors that assist, is the karma equivalent to murder? What can you suggest to people as a practical guide for when would be the acceptable moment for ending life in the case where the motivation is just as a way to avoid pain? What can you suggest to people as a practical guide for when would be the acceptable moment for ending life in the case where the motivation is just as a way to avoid the pain?

Well, it’s a complicated issue in the sense that free will is free will. But the thing is, if you look at specifically people who have no spiritual awareness then you can say that they must be allowed to do whatever they want to do and then experience the consequences because that’s the only way they will learn. It’s the same with suicide. There are some people who need to commit suicide in order to learn that that didn’t actually change anything.

But when it comes to society making something like this legal then of course that’s an entirely different matter and a society shouldn’t make this legal as they shouldn’t have suicide be legal. But nevertheless, when it comes to spiritual people you need to recognize here that contracting an illness there is always the potential to learn something from it. And therefore, as a general rule you want to stay in embodiment until you have learned what you need to learn from that experience.

And if you have a certain high level of consciousness you may actually come to the point where you say: “I have learned what I needed to learn, there is no point in experiencing the pain.” But it may also be that you simply choose to endure the situation and let the disease follow its natural paths. There is of course many ways today where you can artificially keep people alive and it is legitimate to refuse to do this. To simply say that “I will not be kept artificially alive. I will not be kept in a coma” for example, but “I will not even be kept conscious and endure pain when this isn’t the natural cause of the illness”. And if it is done with a certain understanding, then it isn’t karma making for the person or the doctor. But it isn’t really a matter of having the doctor do something active, it’s more a matter of not prolonging life artificially.

For people with a lower state of consciousness it is karma making for the person, it is karma making for the doctor. It’s not quite equivalent to murder, that is done without the person asking for it, but it is certainly a karma making situation.

The end of elitism and fallen beings

Question: Does the end of elitism necessarily mean that the earth will be free of fallen beings?

No, it means that people will become aware of the lies that the fallen beings have used to set themselves up as an elite. They will still be able to embody here for some time because people need to be tested over a period of time, whether they really have risen above the consciousness that makes them think an elite is necessary.

Causes of poverty and homelessness in the USA

Question: Can the ascended masters comment on homelessness and poverty in the United States and also on the criminalization of homelessness and poverty, and why there are so many poor people in the United States prisons?

Answer from the Ascended Master Jesus through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Washington, D.C. (USA) in 2019.

Well, my beloved, it really boils down to the fact that the United States, despite claiming to be a Christian nation, is not living up to the simple command to be your brother’s keeper. The topic of this conference is elitism, and we will talk about poverty as one of the consequences of elitism.

Criminalizing poverty, while allowing a system where the power elite is concentrating wealth in their own hands by taking it from the people is just inhumane, it’s un-christlike. It’s like first hammering people down and slapping them in the face because they are hammered down. It’s completely inhumane to really put people in jail or try to prevent them from living on the street because you don’t want to acknowledge that you have a country with such inequality that many people are trapped in poverty and cannot get out of it. You need to instead of trying to do something about the symptom, look at the cause.

Look at why there is economic inequality, why there are people who can’t make a living, why there are people who are working and can’t make ends meet. Then you need to deal with that. You need to go to the cause and deal with that. It’s almost like you have a situation here, where Americans have become blinded by the fallen consciousness. They think that when they are poor people and homeless people, Oh, it’s their fault and we don’t like to see it, so they should somehow go away. But is it their fault? Well, according to the standard American, “can do, everybody is their own master” ethic, then, yes, it is the poor people’s fault that they are poor because they are too lazy and they don’t want to work.

Look at how many Americans will say this. But the reality is, that you have a system an economic system with such inequality, that not everybody can find a job. You can look at a single person and say, well, that person could find a job if he wanted too, but you cannot look at all of the homeless people or all of the poor people and say they could all do better because they simply cannot in the current system. And therefore, defining that they are the problem and that they should do something about it is completely antichrist. There is no other way to put it. I cannot be diplomatic here.

Blaming yourself for not being perfect

Question: I joined the path to self-mastery rituals year by year, and I’ve gone through the “My Lives” and “Healing Your Spiritual Traumas “ books. After finishing this one and feeling compelled to work with my Birth Trauma, I made mother Mary’s visualization some time ago. And since then, I’ve been haunted by the memory of old mistakes from 20 years ago. Is stirring the subconscious pot, a natural stage of freeing from the birth trauma, or am I still not prepared for the process?

Well, certainly, if you have memories of mistakes in this lifetime, that doesn’t relate to your birth trauma, but what can relate to your birth trauma is that the birth trauma involves blaming yourself, feeling you should have been perfect. You shouldn’t have made those mistakes. Many of us, as spiritual people in an embodiment on a planet like earth have this sense that we should have known better, we should have been able to avoid making certain mistakes, we should have been able to avoid being fooled by the fallen beings and this and that.

You need to recognize what we have said: in order to take embodiment on earth for the first time, you need to descend to the 48th level of consciousness. And in order to descend to that level, you must take on all of the illusions from the 144th level, to the 48th level. Now you are no longer seeing what you could see before you came into embodiment, be it as an avatar or something else. You have a limited vision where you are seeing through the veil of all of these illusions from the 48th to the 144th, and that’s why you can make the same mistakes as anybody else on the planet.

All of us have made some of those mistakes. There was a process that this messenger went through where he, for some time, felt that as a messenger as a spiritual teacher, he should be above certain mistakes or certain feelings or certain patterns. But he came to the recognition that he needed to accept that he was a human being like everybody else. He didn’t need to demand a higher standard of perfection from himself than he would demand from other people.

The same goes for each and every one of you. You need to recognize here that we have all made mistakes when we were in embodiment on this planet. It is a very dense planet. Many times we can create this primal self or at least one of the selves that come after the primal self where we are blaming ourselves and feeling we should never have done this.

This is something to look at, give the exercise again, ponder this dynamic of why you are so concerned about mistakes you have made, what self it is that’s blaming yourself, what self it is that’s projecting that you should have been perfect? And then see how that helps you resolve something and then go from there. You can use the visualization several times. You can ask me directly to help you see what it is you need to see.

Seeing and hearing relatives after death

Question: After the death of the body, can a person see and hear his relatives for 40 days?

That is a matter of the individual consciousness, what consciousness you are at currently. It’s also a matter of how easy it is for you to let go and move to the next station that you’re going to. The forty days is not a set number. Some people can see and hear their relatives for a certain time, but it’s not a fixed number that it has to be.

It’s a matter of how attached people are to their family or their life in the physical octave. How willing are they to move on and let go of that life and move on to the next stage?

Some people move on so quickly that they never even hear it. Other people, as the popular saying goes, like to attend their own funeral to hear or witness the ceremony or hear what people are saying about them. For an ascended master student, the goal is to move on as soon as you are out of the body. You move on, and you look for the light, you look for that tunnel, and you go into it, you’ll go into the light, and you are willing to meet whoever greets you there in that light.

How an empath can deal with energy of other people

Question: When I’m around certain people or in certain places, I feel a bit overwhelmed by what they’re doing, what they’re going through. How can I tell what is my own energy and what I’m picking up from other people? How does an empath learn to navigate situations where there’s a lot of pain that is not our own and give her light without feeling drained?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Washington, D.C. (USA) in 2019.

When you are around other people, especially when they are very emotional, the energy you feel is always their energy, or it is your reaction to their energy. What you need to look at in either case is why you are reacting. You need to look at your reactionary pattern and see why you’re being pulled into this pattern time, and time again. You will find that behind such patterns is, of course, a self and behind every self, there is some kind of belief that, for instance, as a spiritual person, I should be compassionate towards other people, and the way to be compassionate is that I feel their energy or take on their energy to lighten their burden.

Many spiritual people have a very similar belief, not necessarily expressed with the same words. You need to take our teachings on free-will then come to the point where you realize that you are not helping people grow by taking on their energy, you’re enabling them to stay in the same state of consciousness because you relieve their burden. That allows him to continue being in that state of consciousness.

You can, of course, use spiritual protection to seal your energy field from being invaded. In reality, you need to resolve that reactionary pattern, that separate self that makes you feel that you should react to them. You could say that the definition of an empath is a person who feels that they should react to the feelings of other people instead of having your own feelings.

Many, many spiritual people have gotten into such a momentum of wanting to help other people that they deny their own feelings. It’s almost like they push them aside, and they feel they don’t have these feelings. They don’t recognize their own feelings. This, of course, is not something that is healthy and not something that will get you to higher levels of consciousness.

You need to be willing to look at your own feelings and see what you feel. Now, as of course you rise to the Christ consciousness and overcome your primal self and depersonalize your life, then you don’t have any of these lower feelings. But you will have higher feelings still. Because, without feelings, you cannot manifest anything in a physical octave as the process is that the energy and the images move from the identity to the mental to the emotional and then to the physical.

Many, many people have become in a modern age so intellectual that they are trying to skip the emotional and bring something directly from the mental mind into the physical, but it cannot be done.
