Jesus’ physical and spiritual ascension

TOPICS: The linear mind sees contradictions – progressive revelation gives teachings for different levels of consciousness – you can ascend without having balanced 100% of your karma – two stages of ascension: physical and spiritual – Jesus ascended physically after his crucifixion – he ascended spiritually from the retreat of Shamballa – when you see contradictions, you need to raise your consciousness –

Question: The answer to your question about your relationship with Mary Magdalene brings up an interesting question. Some spiritual teachings say that you ascended from Bethany’s Hill shortly after your resurrection, pretty much as described in the official scriptures. However, later teachings say that you ascended from the etheric retreat of Shamballa at the age of 81. Some see this as a contradiction and that both cannot be right. Would you please comment on that?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I can understand that, when taken at face value, these teachings seem contradictory to people who are still trapped in a dualistic state of consciousness. Such people will always look at the letter of the law, and that is why they end up with many questions that cannot be answered or that seem to be contradictory. This can lead such people to engage in endless discussions, as did the Pharisees, the sadducees, the scribes and the lawyers of old. In fact, some of those people have reincarnated today, and they can be found in orthodox Christian organizations and in some New Age movements.

When you understand the nature of progressive revelation, you should not be surprised that one teaching was given in the early days of a movement and that a more advanced teaching on the same topic was given later. The purpose of any movement and spiritual teaching is to raise the consciousness of the followers. When that consciousness is raised, a more advanced teaching can and will be given. A true understanding of progressive revelation makes you realize that no spiritual teaching is ever set in stone. There is always the possibility that a more advanced teaching can be given.

From a superficial viewpoint it might seem as if the advanced teaching contradicts or invalidates the earlier teaching. In reality, the advanced teaching simply goes beyond the previous teaching because it was given from a higher state of consciousness. Therefore, it can be understood correctly only by people who have raised their consciousness by fully embodying the previous teaching. So for people who see a contradiction, there is only one possible explanation, namely that they have not fully embodied the earlier teaching, and that is why they cannot receive the inner instructions that allow them to resolve the conflict. (Obviously, there can be errors in any teaching that create a conflict, but even that can be resolved by the mature student through inner direction.)

In this case there is no error and there really is no conflict, but to see why you need to understand that there are two aspects of the process of the ascension. We teach that in this age it is not necessary for a lifestream to balance 100% of its karma before it can make its ascension. Because of the need to quickly raise the consciousness of humankind in order to facilitate the entry into the Aquarian age, a dispensation was given that allows the lifestream to take its ascension after it balances 51% of its karma. In other words, the lifestream does not have to return to embodiment after it balances 51%, but it does have to balance the remaining 49% from the spiritual realm.

When you consider this fact, you can plainly see that when the lifestream ascends with less than 100% of its karma balanced, the lifestream cannot fully go through the ritual of the ascension. This should make it clear that there are two aspects, or phases, of the ascension process. We might say that there is the physical aspect, which means that the lifestream has now ascended from the wheel of rebirth so that it does not have to return to embodiment. Yet there is also a spiritual aspect of the ascension, and this is a process that the lifestream can go through only after it balances all of its karma and meets the spiritual requirements for the ascension, meaning that it is completely done with everything the lifestream wanted to do on planet earth. So what I am saying here is that the fact that a lifestream leaves a physical body on earth for the last time does not mean that the lifestream is ready to go through the spiritual ascension.

My point here is that the teachings about my ascension described in the question are not contradictory. Both versions are accurate, but one refers to the physical ascension and another to the spiritual ascension. My mission in Galilee was meant to demonstrate the universal spiritual path that can lead a lifestream to attain Christ consciousness and win its permanent ascension. As the logical conclusion of my mission, I did indeed demonstrate a physical ascension whereby my resurrected body was raised from the earth and raised in vibration until I literally disappeared in a burst of light. This was to set forth a public record of what can be attained by any lifestream that walks the path to full Christhood. However, most lifestreams will leave their last embodiment with less than 100% karma balanced, and therefore they will not go through the physical ascension that I demonstrated. They will balance their karma from the spiritual realm and then go through the spiritual ascension.

When it was decided that I would take on an ascended master light body and return to live with Mary Magdalene, my spiritual ascension was postponed. One might say that I did not fully meet the requirements for the spiritual ascension because I still had unfinished business on earth. Therefore, I did not make my spiritual ascension until I had withdrawn from the earth at the age of 81. The spiritual ascension does not take place on planet earth; it takes place in a spiritual retreat that exists either in the etheric realm or in one of the spiritual realms. I did indeed ascend from the spiritual retreat of Shamballa, which is a retreat created by Sanat Kumara. This was appropriate because I came to earth to support the rescue mission of Sanat Kumara.

What I would like people to learn from this teaching is that as you grow on the spiritual path, it is absolutely essential that you make a conscious effort to overcome and leave behind the dualistic way of thinking. This is a fear-based way of thinking, and it must give way to a love-based approach to truth. Only when you look beyond dualism can you find the highest spiritual truths. Only when you seek answers with a loving heart and an open mind can you attain the highest spiritual insights that will empower you to put on the mind of Christ and fully attain your Christhood.

You must unlock and use your intuitive faculties instead of seeking “truth” through the human intellect. The higher truth of God is not linear or dualistic, and therefore it cannot be known through a linear and dualistic way of thinking. I rebuked the lawyers because they had refused to look beyond this way of thinking. They had refused to find or use the “key of knowledge,” and such people can literally spend lifetimes intellectualizing about spiritual truth without integrating even a morsel of that truth. Yet those who are willing to become as little children, and use the key of knowledge to find truth in the kingdom of God that is within them, can quickly integrate the higher truth that becomes the leaven and raises the whole loaf of their consciousness into full Christhood.

Therefore, do not let the lawyers of this day prevent you from entering your father’s kingdom. Simply leave them behind and follow me into the light of truth.

Marian apparitions and Jesus’ mission

TOPICS: Masters adapt message to people’s consciousness – Mother Mary venerated by many Catholics – apparitions in alignment with Jesus’ mission –

Question: What is your perspective on and/or what can you tell us about the significance of the many Marion Apparitions that have occurred in the world since they began in Fatima? What, if anything do these messages and visions have to do with your mission?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

As I explain in the book, Save Yourself, we of the ascended masters are constantly trying to reach human beings and help them raise their consciousness. In doing so, we always adapt our approach to the current level of consciousness of the group of people we are trying to reach. If we didn’t, they could not grasp our message. We also adapt our approach to the current beliefs of the people we are trying to reach. If we didn’t, they could not accept our message.

My beloved Sister of Light, Mother Mary, has appeared to many different people over the centuries. She has done so primarily to reach people in the Catholic Church because it is the largest church which pays homage to her. Therefore, in general you find more Catholics who are open to the blessed Mother.

It is natural that when my Mother appears to such people, she adapts her appearances and her messages to the state of consciousness and the belief system of these people. Therefore, she will generally affirm the validity of the Catholic Church although many of her appearances truly seek to expand the consciousness of Catholics and to bring about changes in the Church. For example, the true message of the Fatima appearances was to expose the need to clean up corruption in the Church in order to avoid a greater calamity. I must tell you that despite what has been said by the official Church, my Mother’s desires and intentions have not been heeded sufficiently by the Church.

As I explain in Save Yourself, there truly are no inconsistencies or conflicts in heaven. We of the ascended masters are working to raise the consciousness of humankind and all of our efforts serve this goal. When you look at the many spiritual teachings found on this planet, a person can easily find seeming contradictions. Yet when you rise above this lower state of consciousness, you will see that they all serve the same goal.

Therefore, the true apparitions by my blessed Mother are very much in alignment with my mission and they serve the goal of raising the consciousness of humankind. I am aware that you can always find words that seem contradictory. Some people will use this to reject certain messages or even to reject all the messages. Yet those who are willing to raise the consciousness beyond that level will see that the seeming contradictions fade away and open up for a higher vision of the true purpose of the ascended masters.

Let me also mention that my blessed Mother has spoken in a more universal context through several sources, and I encourage spiritual seekers to study her message. All of her appearances and messages also serve the purpose of demonstrating the validity and necessity of progressive revelation, and I encourage all spiritual seekers to be open to this concept.

Jesus died to show victory over death

TOPICS: Jesus came to show us the way out of duality – he did so by not conforming to our mental boxes – Jesus also came to challenge death itself – Jesus had to be killed in order to demonstrate victory over death – the Christ consciousness will never conform to any form –

Question: What was the purpose of letting them kill you? Why didn’t you do something to avoid being killed?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

In the answer to another question, I explained two of the main purposes behind the crucifixion, namely to demonstrate the spiritual path to Christhood and to bring about the judgment of those who killed me. Those purposes also explain why I allowed people to kill me. I did this to demonstrate that in order to manifest Christhood, you have to be willing to go all the way. You have to be willing to lose your life (if necessary) for the sake of attaining Christhood.

In reality, the fact that I lost my physical life is meant to be a symbol which demonstrates that you have to be willing to lose your mortal sense of life, your mortal sense of identity, in order to manifest Christhood. In other words, for you to attain a new sense of identity as a Christed being, your old sense of identity as a mortal human being simply has to die.

Let me give you further teachings on the purpose for letting people kill me. It is quite true that I could have called in legions of angels to rescue me from the crucifixion. Yet I did not do so because it would have been against the very purpose of my coming.

One of the recurring themes on this website is that human beings have descended into a lower state of consciousness. They are trapped in this dualistic state of mind and they see everything through the filter of relative good and evil. The purpose for my coming was to show people that there is a way out of this mental box. It is possible to escape the lower state of consciousness and attain Christ consciousness.

In this context, the essence of the Christ consciousness is that is is above and beyond any and all of the mental boxes, the idols, that people have created in the dualistic state of mind. The carnal mind causes people to create an image of reality, and then they seek to force reality to fit into that image. I came to demonstrate that a person who has attained Christhood cannot be confined to the mental boxes created by the dualistic mind.

When you read the scriptures, you can see that I constantly challenged people’s conception of me and my mission. I challenged the scribes, the Pharisees, the Sadducees and the lawyers. I challenged the temple priests and the money changers. I challenged my own disciples and rebuked them for having too narrow a conception of me and my mission. I challenged my mother and my brothers and sisters when they came to restrain me and confine me to their mental image. I even challenged the law, which the Jews considered the ultimate authority. I said that I was above the law, and I made statements that caused people to accuse me of blasphemy by equating myself with God. So whenever I encountered people who put a mental image upon me, I always challenged that image. I attempted to destroy all of people’s mental boxes concerning what a human being can do or should be.

The image created by the carnal mind sets some very firm restrictions for what a human being can do. I challenged those mental restrictions by walking on water, raising the dead, healing the sick, multiplying the loaves and fishes and performing other acts that people considered miracles. What I really attempted to show was that when you are trapped in the dualistic mind, you truly are bound by certain limitations and restrictions. Yet it is possible to rise above those limitations by attaining the Christ consciousness.

When you do attain the Christ consciousness, you are not bound by the lower, mortal, human or material laws. Instead, you can now act based on a higher, spiritual or divine law, and this will allow you to perform actions that are considered impossible from the human level.

So you might say that my entire mission was an attempt to break down people’s mental barriers and limitations. What is the ultimate barrier, the ultimate limitation that people see for their lives? It is, of course, death itself. The death of the physical body is by so many people seen as the final limitation, the final boundary beyond which they cannot go. I had to let them kill me so that I could demonstrate that a Christed being can conquer even death. When you attain Christ consciousness, you are no longer bound by death, and you will live on beyond the death of the physical body. (Even before you attain Christ consciousness, your lifestream lives on after the body dies, but it is not free to ascend to the spiritual realm.)

The reality of life on earth is that human beings have lost all remembrance of their spiritual source. People have forgotten that they are actually spiritual beings who only temporarily embody these limited, material, mortal bodies. Yet in everything ever created by God, the Christ consciousness lies dormant within, so every human being has the potential to achieve Christ consciousness by awakening from the sleep, the spiritual sleep, in which people are trapped.

Everything was created from God’s own consciousness. The first element of creation was the universal Christ consciousness. The universal Christ consciousness is built into everything that exists. One might say that the Christ consciousness is the potential to know that you came from God and that you were created by God. The universal Christ consciousness was the first begotten Son of the Father, it was the first-born. The Christ consciousness is behind every form, but it can never be confined to any form.

God created you as his son or daughter, and you are meant to be a co-creator with God. God gave you free will, and most human beings have used that free will to descend into the lower state of consciousness in which they have forgotten their spiritual origin. That is why God sends them teachers to remind them of who they really are. So the purpose of my mission was to remind people that they are more than mortal human beings. I came to demonstrate this fact, and I did so by challenging people’s mental boxes.

The reality of the situation is that because people have free will, they can do whatever they want with the Christ consciousness. In other words, they can encage it in a warped or distorted form, as you see all over this planet. Yet they can never confine the Christ consciousness to that limited form. The Christ consciousness will always be more than the form. The Christ consciousness will never fit into people’s mental boxes. That is what I came to demonstrate.

When you are a Christed being, people can do with you whatever they want. They can nail you to a cross and kill your physical body. Yet no matter what people do to you, you will rise above it all and conquer all of their actions that spring from a limited state of consciousness. You will even conquer that final limitation, namely death itself.

You too have the potential to attain Christ consciousness and conquer all of the mental limitations that have been programmed into your conscious and subconscious minds. You even have the potential to conquer death itself. I came as an example. My website has only one purpose, namely to help you follow in my footsteps.

Why did God allow the crucifixion?

TOPICS: Demonstrating the spiritual path – all people follow the path demonstrated by Jesus – attachment to status quo – most people do not want to change – a person with Christhood makes people uncomfortable – Jesus came for the judgment of fallen beings – fallen beings judge themselves by attacking Christed beings – the crucifixion was not guaranteed – God could not prevent the crucifixion –

Question: What was the purpose or intent of God when he allowed Jesus to go through the crucifixion on the cross.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

My mission on earth, including my crucifixion, had many purposes of which some have never been revealed publicly. To fully explore this topic would require an entire book, which I might give at some future time. However, let me mention the two main purposes behind the crucifixion.

One purpose was to demonstrate a spiritual path that leads to a higher state of consciousness. This is a path that all people have the potential to follow and that every lifestream must follow in order to be saved and enter the kingdom of heaven, which is a state of consciousness, namely the Christ consciousness.

The situation leading up to my crucifixion, as outpictured in the 14 stations of the cross and events before that, illustrates some of the initiations that the lifestream goes through on the spiritual path. This does not mean that every lifestream has to encounter the exact same outer circumstances that I encountered. Obviously, not every lifestream has to be physically crucified in order to attain Christ consciousness. However, every lifestream will go through a similar process. For example, as you begin to attain a higher state of consciousness, you are likely to encounter various types of persecution from the world.

Most people in today’s world have forgotten their spiritual origin. One of the most amazing things about human beings is their ability to adapt, meaning that they have the ability to become comfortable in even the most atrocious situations. This causes people to become attached to status quo. When you look at the current suffering and misery found on planet earth, it is utterly amazing to me that any human being can feel comfortable about the current conditions found on this planet. Yet, so many people have managed to get themselves into a state of consciousness in which they are not truly willing to do what it takes to create change. They are especially not willing to change themselves, their beliefs and approach to life, in order to create this change.

Because most people have descended into a state of consciousness in which they feel comfortable in uncomfortable circumstances, they have accepted certain subtle lies. These beliefs make people feel that there are certain things on earth that simply cannot be changed. Most people feel that it simply isn’t possible for a human being to rise beyond the state of consciousness in which they feel comfortable. So when one person rises to a higher state of consciousness and begins to express his or her individual Christhood, it will make the people around that person feel uncomfortable. A Christed being is a threat to the comfortability of the people who are denying their own spiritual potential. Some of these people will want to silence the voice that beckons them to come up higher.

Today, you are not likely to be nailed to a wooden cross for manifesting your Christhood. However, you might be crucified by your peers or even by the mass media. This has happened to many people who took a stand and spoke out against status quo. Just look at how often such people are literally crucified by the media, by those in positions of power who do not want to lose their privileges or by the people who do not want to go beyond their comfort zone.

In summary, an important part of the crucifixion was to demonstrate the path and to give lifestreams the opportunity, through my example, to choose to come up higher or remain where they are comfortable.

Another very important aspect of the crucifixion is captured in my statement, “For judgment I am come.” As I have explained elsewhere, a lifestream does not have an unlimited time to decide that it wants to come back to God. There comes a point when the lifestream must choose whether it wants to serve God or continue to serve the lower forces that rebel against God’s law.

When a critical mass of human beings descended into a lower state of consciousness, it became possible for certain lifestreams to embody on this planet that were not originally meant to embody here. These lifestreams had long ago rebelled against God’s law and while the earth was still pure, such lifestreams were not allowed to embody on this planet. Yet when the consciousness of humankind was lowered, these lifestreams were given an opportunity to embody here. Some of these lifestreams made wise use of this opportunity and turned to the light. Others became even more rebellious and attempted to control the rest of the population. Their goal is to make it seem like the earth is a planet that is separated from God.

Such rebellious lifestreams have, in fact, created, or caused other lifestreams to create, the vast majority of the atrocities that you see throughout history. When such a rebellious lifestream was first allowed to come to earth, it was given a certain time span. However, if such a lifestream commits certain atrocities, that time span can be shortened. In other words, through its own actions the lifestream will judge itself, and it will be removed to another level of God’s creation.

One of the actions that can judge a rebellious lifestream is that it kills or otherwise violates innocent lifestreams. Another atrocity is to kill or violate a lifestream who has attained either full Christhood or a high level of Christhood. When I came to earth, I came partly to act as the instrument for the judgment of certain rebellious lifestreams. Through their interaction with me, they were given an opportunity to choose to turn around and serve the Christ or to rebel against that Christ and therefore lose their opportunity to remain on earth.

Some lifestreams did indeed turn around and confessed the Christ. Others refused to do so and they attempted to kill me because they believed that by killing my physical body they would escape the judgment. Little did they know that the act of killing the embodied Christ brought about that judgment. Although these lifestreams lived out that one physical lifetime, they were nevertheless taken from this earth. This does not mean that all rebellious lifestreams were taken from the earth 2,000 years ago. There are still many such lifestreams left and as an increasing number of human beings begin to embody Christ consciousness, these remaining rebellious lifestreams will face the judgment. This judgment will be delivered by the many Christed beings instead of just one. Therefore, it will be far more difficult for rebellious lifestreams to kill or silence the Christed ones.

I realize that for many people this is a difficult topic. If you are new to the idea of the judgment, please do not overreact. Take some time to contemplate these ideas. Use the technique for inner attunement, and if you will seek with an open mind and heart, you will gradually come to a greater understanding of these ideas.

As a final note, let me say that God did not actually allow me to be crucified in the sense that God wanted me to be crucified. As I have attempted to explain throughout this website, the ultimate law for the material universe is the Law of Free Will. God gave people free will, and in so doing God gave up the ability to predict exactly how human beings are going to react. Therefore, neither God, nor any member of the ascended masters, could predict exactly how my embodiment as Jesus would turn out.

Obviously, it was possible to make some predictions based on the past behavior of human beings. It was known that people do not like to be disturbed in their comfortability. It was known that certain lifestreams were not likely to turn around and face the light. Therefore, there was a likelihood that they would attempt to silence the living Christ.

Yet it was not possible to predict exactly how events would turn out. Who could predict that the mob would choose Barabbas over me? Who could predict exactly how Pontius Pilate would exercise his authority? Who could predict exactly how the temple priest would respond to this situation? For that matter, who could predict exactly how my own disciples would respond. If some of them had risen to the full stature of their Christhood, things could have turned out differently. Obviously, I could have changed the situation in various ways.

What I am saying here is that although God did allow me to incarnate on this planet, knowing full well the propensities of human beings, the traditional Christian perspective is not entirely correct. Because God has created the Law of Free Will, God actually could not prevent people from crucifying me without violating or suspending that law. So God could not easily have prevented the crucifixion once I had started my mission. Therefore, God did not passively stand by and allow people to crucify me. God did not want me to be crucified. God would have preferred to see my mission turn out differently and to see the people of Israel accept me as their spiritual king rather than their worldly king. Therefore, God did not allow me to be crucified; God allowed his Law of Free Will to stand, and thereby God allowed human beings to make their choices.

The cross as a symbol for Jesus’ mission and Christianity

TOPICS: Jesus carried only the crossbar – Jesus did not intend the cross to be the symbol for his mission –

Question: Dear Jesus, Was the cross you carried the whole cross or the crossbar only, as scholars stated on television. It seems that no one could possibly carry the entire cross as it would be extremely heavy.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

The scholars are correct. I did indeed carry only the crossbar. In many cases, a crucifixion was performed by attaching the crossbar to a tree, and therefore the person obviously could not carry the entire cross. In cases where a tree was not available, there would often be a vertical beam that was permanently anchored in the ground on the location that was used for execution.

It was never my intention that the cross should become a symbol for my mission or for Christianity. After Christian church leaders made the crucifixion, and not my resurrection, the main event of my life and mission, artists began depicting me as carrying the entire cross so that the symbolism would be complete. Obviously, as scholars have now pointed out, this was historically inaccurate.

You are quite correct that carrying the entire cross would be impossible for most people, especially after they had been whipped or tortured in other ways. This is one additional way in which the latest movie The Passion of the Christ is inaccurate. Nobody could have received 40 lashes and then carried the entire cross for such a distance.

Was it easy for Jesus to fulfill his mission?

TOPICS: For 2,000 years people have built idolatry of Jesus – this has destroyed him as an example we can all follow – Jesus had certain assignments – Jesus did not have full memory of his mission – Jesus had to go through the same as all of us – you must discover your mission on your own – start walking with no vision of the destination – Jesus did not have to be crucified – Jesus in Gethsemane – energies were more heavy 2,000 years ago – many can manifest Christhood today

Question: Dear Jesus, it is clear that from a young age in your Palestine mission you knew you had to be about your Father’s business. When you were 12 and Mary and Joseph found you in the Temple (Luke 2:49) that is what you told them.

How old were you when it was clear to your outer consciousness that that was your business? And more importantly how did you know? Then later when you were 30 in the Temple and you read that passage from Isaiah that told of your coming and you claimed the prophecy (Luke 4:18 – 21), again how did you know that it was you that Isaiah spoke about? When and how did it become clear to your outer consciousness that you were the one prophesied about?
I have been wondering about this for a while. And I was prompted to write reading your answers to another question where you said that the Path was more difficult back then. I’m struggling with my direction now, I must have been having a worse time of it back then.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

As I am trying to explain throughout this website, one of the main problems for any spiritual teacher is that people tend to turn all teachers into idols. For 2,000 years, Christians have been building on to their idolatry of the person of Jesus Christ. They have made me out to be something that was so far above them that they have effectively destroyed my example. As the Jews cried blasphemy when I called myself the son of God, many Christians are now ready to cry blasphemy by the mere thought that someone could follow in my footsteps.

As I also explain on my website, the true purpose of my mission was to demonstrate a spiritual path that all can follow. The essence of this path is that a human being can start at a lower state of consciousness and systematically raise his or her consciousness until the person attains Christ consciousness and fulfills the admonishment of Paul, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”

When I came to earth 2,000 years ago, I was a mature lifestream who had the possibility of making this my last embodiment. In other words, I had the potential to make my ascension in that lifetime. I was also appointed to act as a spiritual teacher and to inaugurate the next 2,000-year dispensation of the Age of Pisces. I also had certain other spiritual assignments, one of which was to bring about the judgment of certain dark lifestreams.

So what I am saying here is that I was in a certain sense at a higher level of the spiritual path than many of the lifestreams currently in embodiment on earth. In other words, not every human being could have done what I did back then. And obviously, not every human being has the same spiritual assignments that I did. So in one sense, you might say that I was not your average lifestream. At the same time, it is extremely important for people to realize that when I came into embodiment, I did not come with a full memory and recognition of who I was and what I was here to do.

No matter how mature a lifestream is, the lifestream will lose the memory of its identity and purpose when it enters a physical body. This process of forgetfulness is currently, because of the density of the material realm, an inevitable part of coming into embodiment. So the first challenge for any lifestream is to regain its memory of it spiritual identity and its purpose. As I said, this was no different for me. I did forget who I was and why I had come.

Obviously, the more mature a lifestream is, the easier it will be for the lifestream to regain its memory. Nevertheless, I still had to go through a long process before I fully regained the memory of who I was and why I had come.

As a child, I had a strong sense that I was here for a purpose. This is no different from many spiritually inclined people in today’s world. Millions of people have been born with a sense of purpose, a sense that they are here to do something and to help bring about a new and better age.

I had this sense as a child, but I did not have a clear vision of what that entailed. I knew that part of my mission was related to religion and spirituality, so I did my best to study spiritual teachings whenever and however possible. This also led me to go on a pilgrimage to the far East where I studied a variety of eastern religions.

You see, even though I was a mature lifestream, there was no guarantee that my mission would be a success. It all depended on the choices I would make from my state of forgetfulness, and I did have the option to fail. Therefore, I was in much the same situation that millions of spiritual seekers are in today. They have a sense of purpose, but they do not know exactly what that purpose is.

What happened in my life was no different from what is currently happening in the lives of millions of people. This is a general initiation that every human being in embodiment must go through. The test is that you must discover who you are and why you are here, and you must do so largely from within yourself. One main reason for this is that when you do discover this on your own, your knowledge becomes internalized and thereby you can act upon it with much greater determination.

This process of self-discovery is the essence of the spiritual path. And the essence of self discovery is that you are willing to take one step at a time without having a clear vision of where you are going. For example, you will notice that God told Abraham to get out of his home country. Abraham packed up everything and started walking without having a clear vision of where he was going. By being willing to move without having any vision or guarantee about the end result, Abraham demonstrated his faith in God. He was willing to trust God and take one step at a time without knowing where he would end up and how things would turn out.

This is an extremely important principle for all spiritual seekers. There are many people on earth who are extremely attached to the idea of an automatic or guaranteed salvation. They consider themselves to be highly spiritual or religious people, and they often claim to be willing to work for God’s purposes. Yet before they take even one step, they want to have a clear vision of where they are going, and they want to have God’s guarantee that everything will turn out perfectly.

Because everything depends on your free will, God cannot guarantee the outcome of your path. Likewise, God cannot give you a clear vision of the end result because it is not something that is set in stone. For most people, there is a variety of ways for them to fulfill their spiritual mission, and the exact events on their paths will depend on choices they make along the way. This was also true for my mission, although my mission was so specific that there were certain elements of it that were not open to alternative choices.

So what I would like all spiritual seekers to learn from this discourse is that you must be willing to take one step at a time, even though you do not know where you are going and have no guarantee for what the outcome might be. Furthermore, you must be willing to walk with no outer direction or guarantee but based on your inner intuitive sense of what should be your next step.

You ask me how I knew what my mission was, and the answer is through intuitive insights and spiritual visions. This is the same way that every seeker must know his or her path.

For the first three decades of my life, I basically took one step at a time without having a clear vision of who I was and what my mission was. I knew certain general things but had very few specifics. Therefore, I can assure you that I was struggling with my personal direction as many spiritual seekers are struggling today. I know what this will seem like an abomination to many orthodox Christians who cannot let go of their idolatry of me as being somehow perfect. Nevertheless, the reality of my life is not changed by people’s beliefs.

The major turning point in my life was my baptism by John. The Holy Spirit descended upon us with such force that we were both, to use a modern expression, blown away. Both of us knew that a life-changing event had taken place, but none of us had a clear vision of what that actually meant. That is why I withdrew into the wilderness after the event. I needed time to be alone, to collect my thoughts and to seek further intuitive insights concerning the turn my life had taken.

During my time alone, I did indeed attain a much greater clarity concerning my mission. Yet I still did not know everything that would happen. Specifically, I did not know anything about my crucifixion, and I did not suspect that my ministry would come to a violent end after only three years.

This was partly due to the fact that my crucifixion was not set in stone. If indeed a critical mass of the Jewish people had accepted me as the Messiah, it would not have been necessary for me to have been crucified. Only after my final entry into Jerusalem, did it become clear that the Jews would not accept me as their Messiah. Therefore, the alternative, what one might call “Plan B,” took effect and this necessitated that I go through the crucifixion.

Although I had certain premonitions, I did not realize this fully until I sat in the garden at Gethsemane. That is why I went true through such severe anguish in the garden. If I had known for a long time that the crucifixion was coming, why would I have gone through this severe anguish? I would either have avoided the situation, or I would have had time to reconcile myself with the situation.

Concerning when it became clear to me that I was the chosen one, this did not really happen until I read the scriptures, as recorded in Luke. This was another life-changing event, and once again it was brought about by an intuitive insight that suddenly made it clear to me that I was not merely a spiritual teacher but was meant to fill the role of the Messiah expected by the Jews.

It is very difficult for a person in today’s world to have any real appreciation of how it was to be in embodiment 2,000 years ago. The energies of the material universe were so much heavier, or denser, because they were a reflection of the lower state of consciousness that most people had at the time. So while one might say that because I was a mature lifestream, it should have been easier for me to walk the path of rediscovering my identity and mission, I can assure you that it was not an easy task. Because of the density of people’s consciousness, I had to struggle with my inner direction.

I am not thereby trying to make it seem like it was much more difficult for me back then than it is for you today. Every human being faces the tests that are the most difficult for that particular person. So really, it is meaningless to say that the path is more difficult for one person than for another. Yet because the consciousness of humankind has been raised, it is somewhat easier to discover the spiritual path today than it was 2,000 years ago. That is why you see that there are many more people in today’s world who are open to spiritual growth than was the case back then.

As I describe in great detail in The Christ Is Born in You, there are currently 10,000 lifestreams on earth who have the potential to manifest a very high degree of personal Christhood in this lifetime. These lifestreams have a clear sense of purpose, a clear sense that they are here to do something important. There are also millions of lifestreams who have the potential to discover the path of Christhood and to make very significant progress on that path. These lifestreams will also have a clear sense of purpose, and it is extremely important that those lifestreams recognize their potential and make an all-out effort to realize that potential.

As was the case 2,000 years ago, there is a best-case scenario, a worst-case scenario and a number of scenarios in between. I pray and hope that a critical mass of lifestreams will discover their spiritual potential and decide to realize that potential so that we can manifest the best-case scenario in today’s world. The best-case scenario did not come about 2,000 years ago. I hope it will be different today, but the decision is not up to me. It is up to the millions of lifestreams who chose to come into embodiment at this particular time for the specific purpose of discovering and following the path of personal Christhood.

Did Jesus survive the crucifixion?

TOPICS: Jesus’ body died on the cross – the soul survives the death of the body – a soul can reincarnate in other bodies – when a lifestream is ready to ascend, it takes on a light body – mind over matter is real – what Jesus did after dying on the cross – Jesus appeared in both a light body and a physical body – The purpose of the resurrection – everything must be sustained by God’s light or it will die – lost civilizations that self-destructed – through resurrection we gain mastery over material laws –

Question: I am currently in a discussion with members of Beliefnet concerning the question: Did Jesus physically survive the crucifixion?

I ask this question because of what I read in the Bible accounts about after the crucifixion: He was not recognized because he was heavily disguised as a gardener, he asked his followers for something to eat (a piece of fish), and he showed them his wounds and said that he had not ascended (died). Now, taking off the blinders that the Church has persuaded us to acquire while reading the accounts, you can see that he was NOT AN APPARITION (as the Church would have us believe) but a real, live person.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

The entire situation around my crucifixion is a very complex and profound topic, and at some point I will release further details. However, for now let me focus on your question.

Did I physically survive the crucifixion? The short answer to that question is a no. My physical body did indeed die on the cross. If my body had been brought to a modern hospital, the doctors would have pronounced it dead.

This leaves the question of how I could appear after my crucifixion in a body that people perceived to be a normal physical body. To answer that question, I need to give you a bit of background information.

If you are a scientific materialist, you must reason that human thoughts, feelings, individuality and personality are all the products of chemical processes in the physical brain. Therefore, there is no possibility that any of it can survive the death of the physical body. Obviously, such a person must reject the idea of my resurrection and my appearance after the crucifixion.

Strangely, many orthodox or literal Christians also seem to have a restricted view of the soul and its survival after death. Although many Christians believe in the existence of a soul, orthodox Christianity finds it difficult to explain what the soul is and what happens to the soul after death.

I am aware that many Christians are somewhat attached to the orthodox view of the soul. Yet, I must tell you that there is much to know about the soul, which is not currently part of orthodox Christianity. If you have a somewhat open mind, I would advise you to study some of the many near-death experiences that have been published over the last decades. So many people have had such experiences and these experiences have so many similarities that any person living in a rational age, be they Christians or scientific materialists, should be able to see that near-death experiences reveal something important about life after death.

Having said this, let me state clearly that the soul is a non-physical being that only resides in the physical body for a season. What happens to the soul after death depends very much on the individual person. The deciding factor is the person’s state of consciousness and the person’s attainment (or lack of it) on the spiritual path that leads back to God.

As I explained in the answer to another question, when a lifestream violates the laws of God, it incurs a debt to life. This debt must be paid back before a lifestream can permanently ascend into the spiritual realm. If a person dies before paying back its debt, the soul/lifestream must return to earth. The lifestream is given an opportunity, even many opportunities if required, to pay back its debt to life by taking on another physical body.

What happens to a lifestream after death, if that lifestream is not ready to permanently ascend to heaven? The lifestream leaves the body behind, never to return to that particular body. The body is simply dissolved into its basic matter components, and it will never be used again by that or any other lifestream. The lifestream moves into a different level of God’s creation, where it resides for a time until it can receive another opportunity to descend into a physical body. The destination of the disembodied lifestream is determined by the lifestream’s state of consciousness before death. This is accurately described by many near-death experiences.

When a lifestream is ready to permanently ascend into the spiritual realm, the situation is different. In many cases, an ascending lifestream does indeed leave the physical body behind, and that body is dissolved. The lifestream ascends in a spiritual or light body, and it uses this body in the spiritual realm. In some cases, a lifestream can go through a physical ascension through which the body is raised in vibration until it reaches the vibration of the spiritual realm and therefore, literally, disappears from the material universe.

You need to understand that he entire material universe is made from spiritual energy that has been lowered in vibration. Spiritual energy is literally a manifestation of the consciousness of God. Therefore, as modern scientists will discover and prove within the next few decades, everything in the material universe is literally created from subtle energies which are a form of consciousness.

Because everything in the material universe is created from consciousness, the mind of a conscious being has the capacity to influence matter. The old idea of mind over matter is true, and one day science will prove this beyond any reasonable doubt. In fact, science has already proven this for people with an open mind.

As you grow on the spiritual path and begin to put on your personal Christhood, that Christhood will allow your conscious mind to recognize and accept that everything in the material universe is created from God’s consciousness. As you begin to unite with the Christ consciousness, you also begin to realize that your mind has the capacity to control matter.

A materialistic scientist will automatically reject the miracles that I performed, such as turning the water into wine, healing the sick, raising the dead or walking on water. Even many Christians reject these events as literal or actual events. However, as you begin to put on your personal Christhood, you will gradually realize that these events were not actually miracles. I simply used certain divine laws, namely the spiritual laws that are above the material laws used to create this universe. When you attain an awareness of the spiritual laws, you can use them to override the material laws that seem so absolute to people in a lower state of consciousness.

What I am trying to explain here is that as you put on your personal Christhood, you naturally attain some mastery over matter. This empowers you to produce some of the miracles that I produced. That is why I said that people who believe on me shall do the works that I did.

When a lifestream has attained personal Christhood, that lifestream is fully aware that it will not die with the physical body. The lifestream realizes that the physical body is simply a manifestation of consciousness. Such a lifestream does not have to go through the death of the physical body. In my case, I chose to go through the crucifixion and the death of the physical body for several reasons. One of these reasons was to demonstrate that the mind, the Christ mind, has mastery over matter.

After the death of my physical body, my lifestream, at first, left the body behind. However, I then raised the vibrations of the physical body until it disappeared from the material universe, and that is why the tomb was found empty. I then descended to Hell in an attempt to awaken the lifestreams that were stuck at that level of consciousness. After that, I started appearing to my disciples. For 40 days I appeared daily to a small group of disciples, and I helped them develop a vision for the emergence of Christianity. However, I appeared infrequently to people for over 50 years after my crucifixion.

It is not incorrect to call my appearances for apparitions. Some of them were indeed apparitions in the sense that I did not appear in a physical body that human beings could touch. The exact nature of a given appearance was determined by the purpose for that appearance, which was dependent upon the consciousness of the people to whom I appeared. Some of my disciples had attained a level of consciousness in which they could see me in my light body. Therefore, I could contact these disciples without manifesting a physical body.

As the scriptures record, other disciples had not attained that level of consciousness. Therefore, I did indeed appear in a physical body to some disciples. Although this body seemed identical to my discarded physical body, even with the signs of the crucifixion, it was a body that was manifested for that particular appearance. However, it was a physical body that could eat food and be touched by human beings. I am not the only ascended master in history who has manifested such a physical body. I might indeed do so again, although, as explained elsewhere, it will not be the second coming envisioned by many Christians.

If you want to go into technicalities, you could say that the body in which I appeared was not a human body, because it had not been born of a woman and grown to adult age. Furthermore, the body would not age or go through physical death. It would simply be raised to a higher vibration, when it was no longer needed. The body was manifested from spiritual energies that were temporarily lowered in vibration.

If a person would use this fact to argue that I did not appear in a normal physical body, then so be it. However, I would remind such a person that the entire material universe is made from spiritual energy that has only temporarily been lowered in vibration. Therefore, what human beings think of as a “normal” physical body is much more than meets the eye.

This leaves the question of what was the purpose for demonstrating the process of the resurrection of the body. To explain this, let me refer to a discovery made by modern science, namely the second law of thermodynamics. This law states that in a closed system, entropy, meaning disorder, will increase. On might say that if a system becomes closed to outside influences, it will inevitably self-destruct.

This law can be applied to the entire material universe. I have said that this universe is simply one part of a larger whole, and that there are spiritual realms beyond this world. If the entire material universe was cut off from any connection to the spiritual realm, then it would inevitably self-destruct.

Throughout this website I have stated that the basic law of this universe is the Law of Free Will. An individual human being can use this law to shut off his or her connection to the spiritual world and the person’s spiritual self. However, if you do shut off this connection, you will inevitably descend into a lower state of consciousness than the Christ consciousness. When you sink into this lower state of consciousness, you will become subject to the material laws that govern this universe. One of these laws is the second law of thermodynamics.

What the second law really says is that everything in the material universe will inevitably return to its most basic components, unless it is sustained by an impulse that comes from outside the material universe. That impulse is the spiritual energy of God, and that energy can only enter this universe through the consciousness of a spiritual being, including, but not limited to, a human being in physical embodiment.

What I am saying here is that if a person shuts off the connection to the spiritual self, that person becomes subject to the material laws. Therefore, the person’s physical body will inevitably age, and it will eventually die and be dissolved. The lifestream will not die with the body, but in order to once again appear in the material universe, the lifestream must go through the entire process of being born in a new physical body and then grow to adult age.

What happens if a large number of people in a particular civilization sink into a lower state of consciousness and lose the connection to the spiritual realm? In that case, the entire civilization becomes subject to the material laws, including the second law of thermodynamics. If this condition is allowed to continue, the civilization will begin to decay, and it might eventually self-destruct.

This has indeed happened to many civilizations in the past. The Bible records some of these civilizations, and so does modern science. However, I can tell you that there are many lost civilizations that human beings currently do not know about. I can also prophesy that within the next few decades, some of these lost civilizations will indeed be discovered by modern science. This will necessitate a complete rethinking of the history of humankind.

Let me return to my original question about the purpose of the resurrection. I went through the crucifixion and the resurrection in order to demonstrate that every human being has the potential to rise above the material laws of this universe. Every human being has the potential to rise above the decay and death of the physical body. When a person attains Christ consciousness, that person can indeed raise the vibration of the physical body so that the body is no longer subject to the material laws that cause the body to age and die.

This was indeed one of the major purposes of my incarnation as Jesus Christ. I came to demonstrate a path that all human beings have the potential to follow. That original purpose is not generally known or accepted by Christians today. It is precisely to change this fact that I have sponsored my website. Let those who have ears, hear my words.

Was Jesus a Jew or a Christian?

TOPICS: Jesus neither a Jew nor a Christian – universal religion of God – inner church – outer religion a stepping stone – oneness in heaven – dualistic mind creates divisions – not one true religion – Jesus is a mystic – Jesus studied several religions – Jesus had a personal guru – the guru-chela relationship in heaven – universal spiritual lineage – Jesus is the personal guru of many people – he holds the office of the planetary Christ – you can be Jesus’ disciple without being a member of a Christian church – religion a path of self-discovery –

Question: Which religion did Jesus follow?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Few people think to ask this question, because they assume that I grew up as a Jew and then became a Christian. Yet, this is not the case. In reality, I did not see myself as belonging to any formal or outer religion. I was, and I still am, a follower of the universal religion of God, and I belong to the living, inner church of God.

I am not thereby saying that there is anything wrong with outer religions or outer churches. Not every human being is ready to follow the inner path. Therefore, many people need an outer organization that can gradually lead them to discover the inner mysteries of God. Yet, God’s intention behind inspiring an outer religion is that people will use it only as a stepping stone. The outer religion and its doctrines must never become a mental prison that encages your mind. In other words, an outer religion is meant to help you discover the true inner religion.

The true inner religion is a universal religion. To understand this, you must realize that in heaven there simply are no divisions. You can only ascend to heaven when you realize that everything and everyone is created from God’s substance. Through this realization, you clearly see that everything originated from the same source. Therefore, individual differences are not seen as the source of division and conflict. In heaven, we are all one.

The divisions found on earth did not come from God. They came from the dualistic mind and its relativity and sense of separation. The dualistic mind cannot see unity behind diversity. Therefore, to the dualistic mind differences must inevitably lead to division and conflict. To the dualistic mind, differences are also the source of a value judgment. In other words, the dualistic mind always seeks to determine that one person is better than another person or that one church is better than another church.

Because of people’s identification with the dualistic mind, people have a desire to define one church as being the only true church. From God’s viewpoint, this is a completely false and unnecessary desire.

In reality, a true church is the church that leads people to discover the inner path of Christhood. In reality, many of the churches found on earth have qualified as true churches. Unfortunately, some of them only qualified in their early stages, and they were later perverted and used in the eternal human power struggle. Nevertheless, it is essential for you to realize that the idea of one true church simply did not come from God.

There are no Catholics, Jews, Protestants, Buddhists, Muslims or Taoists in heaven. In heaven, you find only sons and daughters of God, because once you are here it really doesn’t matter which path you followed to get here. Once you step through the straight and narrow gate, you leave all the outer human divisions behind. Or perhaps I should say that before you can step through the narrow gate, you must voluntarily leave all human divisions behind. I am a Christian mystic.

Did Jesus create the universe?

TOPICS: No spiritual teaching is absolute truth – God created the world out of itself –  God creates out of its own consciousness – first God created the Christ consciousness – knows God as the source of all – logos – material world is an expression of God’s consciousness – Jesus is out of the Christ consciousness, but the Christ consciousness is more than Jesus – Jesus came to demonstrate that we all have the Christ potential – the universal Christ consciousness spoke through Jesus – science and religion –

Question: This question may be complicated but I have a deep yearning to learn how did Jesus Christ create the universe and the laws of physics and science? Really how did the “word” who the Bible says is Jesus Christ create the cosmos? How is “the word” (Jesus Christ) intertwined in the laws of physics and science?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I very much welcome complicated questions, especially those that spring from a deep yearning to know the truth.

As I attempt to explain throughout this website, the true purpose of a spiritual teaching is not to bring a complete or infallible truth. It simply is not possible to explain the truth of God through the words found in the material universe. All words have more than one meaning and therefore mean different things to different people.

It is essential for spiritual seekers to recognize the limitations of words and therefore the inherent limitations of any spiritual teaching, including the Bible itself. Therefore, the mature spiritual seekers will be alert and avoid any risk of turning a spiritual teaching into an idol and dancing around it, like the Jews danced around the golden calf while Moses went to the mountain to experience the living truth of God.

We have explained some of the mechanics of how God created the universe. Let me say here that in the beginning was only God, meaning a state of pure Being. Thus God created the world out of itself.

The first aspect of creating anything is to create a mental image of what you want to create. You must have a blueprint, a matrix, an idea, a vision before you can create anything, at least anything that is sustainable. When you understand that God is a state of pure Being, you realize that God truly is a state of consciousness. God is a conscious being and because there is nothing but God, it creates everything out of itself, meaning that God creates everything out of its own consciousness. Therefore, everything that was ever created by God is truly a manifestation of the consciousness of God.

So when God decided to create, the first act of creation was the creation of a state of consciousness which was able to hold the mental images of the forms God wanted to create. Because this state of consciousness was the first element of creation, one can call it the firstborn Son or the only begotten Son of the Father.

Please keep in mind that the words “Father” and “Son” were used by me 2,000 years ago, when I attempted to explain the process of creation to people that were in a far more primitive state of consciousness than the consciousness of most people in today’s world. Therefore, my ability to explain the mysteries of creation was greatly limited by people’s state of consciousness, and I had to use words and images that were familiar to them.

I portrayed God as a loving father figure and I explained the Christ consciousness as the Son of God. In reality, God the Father is a state of consciousness and the Son of God is also a state of consciousness, namely what I would like to call the universal Christ consciousness.

So the first element of creation is a universal state of consciousness. This state of consciousness can hold the images, the blueprints, for any form ever created by God. At the same time, it maintains the awareness that the form originated in God and was created through the power of God. Therefore, even though the form appears different from the Creator, it is fashioned from the very consciousness of the Creator. In other words, the Christ consciousness alone knows the Father and knows that everything sprang from the Father.

So what you see now is that the universal Christ consciousness is a mind that holds a blueprint for everything ever created by God, including the laws of nature that are recognized by science. These laws were formulated by God and are stored in what one might call the computer or data bank of the universal Christ consciousness. The laws of nature were formulated to ensure that the material universe could evolve in a sustainable manner and would not self-destruct.

Although it is impossible to give a correct description of the reality of God through a linear image, I would like to suggest one way to envision the creation of God. In the beginning was only the state of pure Being. This is a state of consciousness. Out of the state of pure Being forms another consciousness which is aware of its own existence and of its ability to create. This is the Creator. The Creator now forms, out of its own consciousness, another state of consciousness which is the universal Christ mind. The Creator forms and stores the blueprint for its creation in the universal Christ mind. This blueprint is what the Gospel of John calls the Word or the logos. One might say that everything was created from the word, or the logos, or one might say that everything was created from the universal Christ consciousness.

In other words, the Creator is not different from the state of pure Being. The state of pure Being is embedded within the consciousness of the Creator. The Christ consciousness is not different from the Creator because the consciousness of the Creator is embedded within the Son. The forms that were created out of the universal Christ consciousness are not different from the Christ mind because the Word is embedded within every form.

When you look at creation from the viewpoint of a human being, you think the material world is somehow separated from God. Yet in reality, everything ever created from God was created out of God’s substance and consciousness. Therefore, the material universe is not separate from God; it exists within God’s consciousness. It is an expression of God’s consciousness.

One might say that the universal Christ mind is a container that holds a number of images, almost like slides. Each image contains the blueprint for one of the forms found in the material universe. As the light of God shines through the slide, the image of the form is projected unto the screen of life and appears as a material form. Yet everything is created from the same basic substance, namely the consciousness of God.

The error that has crept into Christianity is that Jesus Christ, meaning my physical body and outer personality, has become identified with the Christ consciousness. Some Christians even identify my outer person with God himself. This is an incorrect assumption that has no bearing in reality. However, to fully understand this, you must be aware of as another subtle distinction.

The universal Christ consciousness truly is the only begotten Son of the Father. It is the firstborn Son. When the universal Christ consciousness came into existence, there were no manifest forms. The material universe did not exist and neither did the spiritual realm because at that point nothing was created. Therefore, the individual lifestream that human beings called Jesus Christ was not created. I simply did not exist and neither did you or anyone else. At that point in time, there was only God and the universal Christ consciousness. No forms, meaning no individualizations of the universal Christ consciousness, had been created.

God created everything out of the universal Christ consciousness. Therefore, everything that was ever created has the universal Christ consciousness embedded within it. That is why I said that if people should hold their peace in defense of the Christ, the very stones themselves would cry out. How could the stones cry out in defense of the Christ, unless they had the Christ consciousness embedded within them?

As God started the process of creation, it created the first sphere, which is now the highest level of the spiritual realm. When the first sphere ascended, the beings from that sphere created the beings who descended into the second sphere and so on until this sphere. I am a product of this process, yet contrary to what many human beings want to think, after having idolized me for 2,000 years, I am no more and no less important than any other lifestream.

I was, however, chosen for a special mission to planet earth, and as I attempt to explain throughout my website, the purpose of my mission was to demonstrate that all human beings have the potential to manifest the Christ consciousness. This potential is due to the fact that the universal Christ consciousness is embedded within everything. So you have the potential to become aware that you are a son or daughter of God.

I demonstrated the path to Christ consciousness, and I set forth an example of how a person acts when he or she is completely united with the Christ consciousness. I therefore acted as a messenger for the universal Christ consciousness, and the universal Christ mind did indeed speak through me on a number of occasions. What confuses many Christians is that they do not distinguish between the individual lifestream, called Jesus Christ, and the universal Christ consciousness that was expressing itself through me.

You see, when I attained oneness with my Christ self, I became the open door through which the universal Christ mind could act and speak in this world. When I made the statement, “I am the way, the truth and the Life,” that statement did not refer to my outer personality or even my individual lifestream. This statement was spoken by the universal Christ mind, and therefore the true meaning is that the universal Christ consciousness is the way the truth and the life and no one can come to the Father, meaning the consciousness of the Creator, without going through the universal Christ consciousness.

So you see that even the Gospel of John contains an incomplete understanding of the reality of God. This is not to find fault with the person who brought forth this gospel. It simply means that the Gospel of John represents the highest understanding that could be given 2,000 years ago, considering the state of consciousness that most people had at that time.

Today, humankind has risen to a higher level of consciousness and because of the development of science, a more detailed explanation can be given. That is indeed what I attempt to bring forth throughout this website by building upon the scientific discovery that everything is energy. I can assure you that had such discoveries been available 2,000 years ago, I would have made use of them. The current state of warfare between science and religion is completely unnecessary and only serves to keep people on both sides of the issue trapped in a limited understanding of reality.

Was Jesus Christ a historical person?

TOPICS: People brought up with a false image of Jesus – the Christian Jesus is a mythological figure – seeing Jesus without the historical overlay – people must have the option to reject a spiritual teacher – the reason for the lack of historical evidence – at the time, Jesus was not seen as a historically significant person – the mystery religions inspired Christianity – Christianity meant to be the ultimate mystery religion – Jesus came to show us how to embody the mystery religions – why did Christianity become popular? – Jesus was a historical person who embodied the mysteries – the Roman church removed the mystical aspects of early Christianity – the need to reevaluate the history of Christianity –

Question from Kim: Jesus, I recently read the book The Jesus Mysteries by Timothy Freke and Peter Gandy and would like your comments on it since it brings up a lot of interesting points. The main thesis is that you did not exist as a historical person but that everything about your life was patterned after the old Pagan mystery religions, adapted to the Jewish culture. Obviously, I know this conclusion is wrong and that you did exist as a historical person, so I wont ask you to comment on that but…

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels: (April 12, 2006)

Actually, I do want to comment on that. It is valid to raise the question, “Was Jesus Christ a historical person?”

The simple fact is that the average Christian child is brought up with an image of Jesus Christ that is historically inaccurate in any number of ways. I was not born on December 25th, I was not born of a virgin, and three actual kings did not visit me at my birth. I was not God’s only Son, nor was I God incarnate as it is understood by most Christians. I was not physically resurrected nor were the graves opened in a literal sense at my death. The Sun was not literally darkened, there was not a world-wide earthquake and corpses did not suddenly walk around in the streets. I was not the sacrificial lamb that paid the price with my blood for all of humankind’s sins, past, present and future. I do not sit in heaven next to the throne of an old man with a long white beard, nor will I one day appear in the sky to fix all of humankind’s problems or to bring an end to the world.

It is a fact that most Christians have an image of Jesus Christ that is historically inaccurate, but they identify me with that image to the point of being unwilling to consider that there might be some discrepancies between reality and their view of “reality.” The authors of the book are therefore correct in saying that the Jesus that most Christians envision did not exist as a historical person. He is a mythological figure. Most of the common Christian doctrines are later additions that have little basis in historical fact and owe their existence to church and even state politics. Even some of the accounts of my life in the gospels are mythological in nature and should not be taken as historical facts.

Another important consideration is the importance of free will. Christians today look back at my birth and life with the mythological overlay of 2,000 years of history. They think my life was surrounded by some superhuman glory, including that I always walked around in clean clothes with neatly trimmed hair and beard and that I had a halo around my head that made me instantly recognizable as a holy person. The reality, of course, is quite different.

Most Christians think that if they had been alive back then, they would have instantly recognized me as Jesus Christ. But back then there wasn’t the historical overlay that has since been built around Jesus Christ. Thus, I appeared as a – relatively – normal person and it is a fact that the average Christian today would not have recognized me as someone special. In fact, most modern Christians – had they been around back then, which a number of them were – would probably have avoided me, sticking to their orthodox Jewish religion. If they had gone around looking for the Jesus Christ they have been brought up to see as God’s only son, they certainly would not have recognized my actual person as being that Jesus Christ.

The lack of this superhuman overlay was obviously a historical necessity, since it takes a long time to build up a myth as elaborate as what Christianity promotes today. Yet it was also very much in alignment with the Law of Free Will, which states that a spiritual teacher must appear in a disguise that makes it difficult for people to recognize him or her. In other words, people must always have the option of rejecting a spiritual teacher and they must always be required to stretch their minds and leave behind their existing beliefs in order to follow a new teaching.

Kim: One of the main claims made by the authors of the book is that there is no historical evidence for your existence, except what is found in the gospels themselves. They say this is not objective evidence since it could have been created or distorted to prove the claim of the orthodox church.

Jesus: As I said, people’s free will cannot be violated, so when I did walk the earth, I was quite aware that although I could perform certain miracles, I still had to maintain an aura of deniability so that people could easily find an excuse for rejecting me. This is one reason why I did not write down an official gospel or teaching or an official history about my life. It is also why I went out of my way to make sure there is no undeniable historical evidence about my life. Another reason is that I had no desire to focus attention on my outer person, precisely because I did not want to have a personality cult develop around me. The fact that Christianity later became such a personality cult is not to my liking.

If you look at the lives of other spiritual leaders, you will see that there is also relatively few – if any – historical facts that objectively prove their existence. Did the Buddha really exist as a historical person? The only evidence is what is found in the Buddhist tradition, and an objective scientist can easily reject that, as the authors of the book reject Christian sources as not being objective (which they weren’t).

However, the main reason why there is so little historical evidence about my life was that when I lived, very few people considered me a historically significant person. This is where even the authors of the book have been somewhat caught in the historical myth they are trying to disprove. The argument – advanced by a number of people – is that because I was such a significant person, there should be more historical evidence and since there isn’t, I must not have existed.

The fact is that the people who wrote history or who were leaders in society back then did not consider me worth mentioning, and that is why there is so little evidence. In retrospect, the invention of the wheel is one of the significant events of history, but no one recorded who invented it because at the time it wasn’t considered that important.

As the book points out, there were many mystery religions at the time and there were many charismatic preachers. The scene back then was much like the New Age movement today. Centuries from now a few of the leaders of the New Age movement will be seen as the forerunners for a new spirituality, but today they are not considered that way by mainstream society. Even many of those who heard me speak or saw me perform miracles thought I was just another wandering preacher. Few people saw me as a person that would be remembered beyond their own lifetime.

Only when Christianity started growing – which really did not happen until the second century – was there a recognition of the need for a historical record. At that point, any record that could be written had to be revisionist, which the authors correctly point out. And since the history was written by Christians, they inflated certain things to make me seem more important. However, missing historical records or a revisionist history do not prove that here was no historical person who gave rise to the Jesus myth.

The fact is that when you look at the research presented by the authors, one does not have to conclude that there was no historical person who started it all. The authors make a strong case that much of what Christians believe today was clearly later additions or even mythological stories rather than historical facts. Yet that does not disprove the possibility that an actual person inspired what later became the Jesus myth. Likewise, the fact that there are many similarities between Christianity and the mystery religions does not prove that there was no actual person who inspired Christianity. Some of the mystery religions were also inspired by an actual person.

Kim: I think the strongest part of the book – and what for me made it worth reading – is the detailed description of the old mystery religions that were later suppressed by the orthodox church. I found it interesting to see the parallels between the Mithras and Dionysus cults and Christianity. I also found it interesting that the authors describe the mystery religions as providing a systematic, initiatic path to a higher state of consciousness. That is essentially what you describe on this website and what has been lost from orthodox Christianity by turning you into an exception who will do all the work for us.

Jesus: I agree that the authors give a good description of the mystery religions, a description that can be difficult to find anywhere else, especially in comparison to Christianity. It is perfectly valid to study the parallels between the myths of the mystery religions and the myths of Christianity. However, it is even more valid to use the mystery religions to uncover the spiritual path that was built into my teachings from the very beginning.

It is, however, necessary to use more discernment than the authors of the book do, because they assume that all of the mystery religions were of equal validity. This is not the case, as there was quite a range of mystery religions—as there is a range of Christian churches or New Age organizations today. Some of the mystery religions were little more than cults using wine or hallucinatory drugs to supposedly induce spiritual states of consciousness. Others were proponents of ideas that had no truth in them and were deliberately designed to deceive sincere spiritual seekers—being channeled from the same sources as much modern channeled material. Others were simply personality cults centered around a particular leader, and some were political tools for the rulers of a nation or region.

However, some of the mystery religions were indeed inspired by, and to various degrees sponsored by, the ascended masters. For example, the cult of Serapis was centered around a figure who is today known as the ascended master Serapis Bey. Pythagoras is today the ascended master Kuthumi. These mystery religions were indeed given in order to set the stage for my appearance at the beginning of the Piscean age. They were, so to speak, preparing the ground for the emergence of what was designed to be the ultimate mystery religion.

The authors are correct in saying that many of the mystery religions described a God-man who had many similarities to my own life and teachings. However, there are some differences, such as the fact that I was not born on December 25th as the God-man of most mystery religions. The authors are also correct in saying that the God-man was generally thought of as a mythological figure who was not a historical person. They then use this to reason that I was also a mythological figure, patterned on the God-man of the mystery religions, and this is where they take their conclusions one step too far.

You see, the true mystery religions were given in order to provide people with an initiatic path that would lead them to the Christ consciousness. These religions had indeed produced some outstanding people who had manifested a high degree of Christhood. Yet before my time, only a few people had realized the inner mysteries. In other words, many people saw the God-man as an unobtainable ideal that no one could embody physically. What I am saying here is that even the mystery religions had their limitations because the human ego can distort any path. Many people had distorted the initiatic path toward the God-man into something that did not really apply to them. Their egos had tricked them into following the mystery religions without truly trying to embody the mysteries.

This was one reason why the mystery religions needed to be renewed, as any religion must be when it has been watered down by the human ego. Yet another factor was that with the advent of the Piscean age, many more people needed to see the mysteries as something that applied to them personally—because they now had a greater potential for embodying them. Thus, the logical next step – the fulfillment of the mystery religions – was that a person would embody physically all of the traits of the God-man, thereby demonstrating what was attainable to a greater number of people in the new age.

This was the main purpose for my life, and that is why I deliberately did and said many things that paralleled the teachings of the mystery religions. However, I also had a very specific mission in relation to the Jews in Israel, namely to bring the judgment of certain lifestreams and to prove the need for change in the Jewish religion and culture.

Kim: The authors argue that Christianity was born as a Jewish version of the mystery religions and that the evangelists, and especially Paul, never saw you as a historical person but patterned their writings on the mystery religions, adapting them to the Jewish culture. They say that in the beginning, Christianity found little support among the Jews, but later became popular in other regions. However, it was only when an orthodox church emerged that the myths about you were turned into historical facts and revered as actual events.

Jesus: Yes, and this is the weakest part of the book, where the authors fail to see that their thesis is actually disproven by their own research. The authors describe correctly that every region in the Mediterranean had its own mystery religion. They are not incorrect in saying that Christianity is like a mystery religion developed for the Jewish culture, because both Paul and the gospel writers were Jews or had close ties to Jewish culture, and they gave a certain Jewish flavor to early Christianity.

As a side note, Paul did see me as a historical person, he simply did not put much emphasis on this, partly because he had not followed me while I was in embodiment and partly because he understood that the real importance was not the historical Jesus but the ascended Jesus. Thus, he wrote about me the way he had experienced me, namely as a spiritual Presence, which is also the way all Christians should see me.

The main problem with the book is that the authors fail to take into account that Jews were generally despised everywhere, partly because the Jews saw themselves as God’s chosen people and set themselves apart from all other cultures. So the problem that the authors do not address is how a mystery religion developed specifically for the Jews ever became popular outside Israel? Since every region already had its own mystery religion, why would they accept a mystery cult of Jewish origin instead of developing their own to meet their needs in a new time? The fact is that virtually every culture would have rejected such a Jewish mystery cult. They might have taken certain things from it and used them to adapt their own mystery religion, but they would never have accepted a Jewish mystery cult.

There are two main reasons why Christianity slowly gained a wider following. One was that Christianity – largely through the writings of Paul and the Gospel of John – was separated from Jewish culture and made more universal. But the other was the fact that Christianity was different from the mystery religions precisely because it was based on the existence of a historical person, which is what the early followers of Christianity emphasized. This gave early Christianity a new sense of authenticity and urgency because it demonstrated a path that many people could follow. That is why my early followers did not call themselves Christians, but “Followers of the Way.”

The authors of the book are correct in describing that this element of Christianity was lost when the orthodox church emerged, especially when Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire. That is what I also describe on this website, and it is another example of how the human ego can distort any spiritual teaching. Thus, the book can make a valuable contribution in terms of helping people rediscover the mystical aspects of Christianity.

I consider this book a valuable work, but I also consider it a typical example of how the rational mind can easily lead people to discover a lot of valuable evidence but take their rationale too far into one extreme, thereby ending up with the wrong conclusion. That is why rational scholarship must be combined with intuitive insights – meaning Christ discernment – in order to reach its full potential.

This book could easily have been given a slight turn, whereby it could have argued for a restoration of the mystical elements of Christianity. However, the authors became blinded by the desire to come up with a sensationalist conclusion, namely that Jesus Christ did not exist as a historical person. Yet a person with good discernment can still gain valuable insights from reading this book.

Let me make it clear that I am in no way opposed to those who look at history and raise questions about the early Christian movement and why official doctrines took the form they did. This is an extremely necessary and valuable task that is an essential part of renewing Christianity and turning it into a viable religion for the modern age. There were so many additions and distortions in the first several centuries that there is an immense need for having scholars and historians uncover what actually happened.

However, I would find it most valuable to focus on how my original teachings were distorted, so that instead of being a mystical movement, Christianity became a rigid and dogmatic mainstream religion. This could help people see how to restore the mystical path, the path of initiation, that is hidden within my outer teachings. It is only by uncovering this path that Christianity can retain its relevance for modern spiritual seekers.

Jesus’ tomb in India

TOPICS: Jesus traveled in India – Jesus lived in Kashmir – Jesus has no tomb in Srinagar –

Question: Jesus, did You live some time in India before You gave Your teachings in the Holy Land? And after the crucifixion, did You go back to India then, and is Your grave in Srinagar? I have seen a picture of it.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

As I have explained elsewhere, I did travel in India in preparation for my mission in Palestine. As I also explain elsewhere, I did return after the crucifixion and lived with Mary Magdalene in Kashmir. However, my return was in “an ascended master light body that is lowered in vibration until it can be detected by the physical senses.” When I ended my sojourn on earth, I simply withdrew that body and it disappeared from the material frequency spectrum as if it had never existed.

My point being that there was no need for a burial and thus no need for a tomb. Indeed, since my life with Mary was kept a secret, why would I leave a physical mausoleum?

The claim that a certain tomb in Srinagar is my tomb is a rumor that started a long time ago and was gradually told and retold so many times that it became an elaborate myth that many see as fact. It has a bearing in fact in the sense that I traveled and lived in Kashmir. However, living in a place does not necessarily mean that one has to die and be buried in that place—at least not when one has conquered the last enemy called death.

No historical records of Jesus

TOPICS: No “facts” that cannot be questioned – Jesus was not seen as an important person at the time – neither Jews nor Romans saw Jesus as important – in ancient world a different purpose for writing history books –

Question: Why does not one historian record Jesus’ existence and if they did it was a forgery or it’s questionable? Why does Josephus (the historian of the messianic age) not record you?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Several historians, including Josephus, mention my existence. You are right that some of these records are forgeries and others are questionable, yet there is no knowledge that the human intellect cannot doubt or question.

In considering this question, you need to realize that you are looking at me and my life with a bias that springs from the fact that my life has become the basis for a world-wide religion. When I lived, the world was very different. The means of communication made it difficult to spread knowledge around the globe. As a result, most people were entirely focused on their own immediate surroundings. There were people who lived a few miles from Jerusalem and yet had no idea of my existence.

You must also understand that while I was on this planet only a very small number of people actually saw me as a significant spiritual leader. Most of the Jews rejected me as the Messiah, and therefore they saw no reason to write any historical records about this madman. The Romans regarded me as a rebel. Most Romans outside of Judea had never heard about me, and the historians who had heard about me considered me a rather insignificant Jewish rebel. I did not become truly significant to the Roman empire until Christianity became the official state religion. I can assure you that even today there are people and events that will later be seen as pivotal but which are now regarded as entirely unimportant by most people on this planet.

In the ancient world the purpose for writing history books was not so much to record facts but to portray an image that supported the ruling elite and its policies. If the writings of a historian did not support the elite, he might be imprisoned or executed. While much of modern history writing is also affected by political concerns, the improved communications technology has made it more difficult to get away with a political rewriting of events.

Another factor is that while a historian might be concerned about preserving of record for posterity, the historian still has to eat. To eat, the historian must write about something which his contemporaries find important. Otherwise, he might be so busy making a living that he has no time to write historical records.

Jesus birthday

TOPICS: Jesus does not want to release his birthday – people were in a mythical consciousness 2,000 years ago – Jesus deliberately hid facts –

Question: When was Jesus born, meaning what year and day? Edgar Cayce said that you were born on March 19th. What year were you born? Herod died in 4 BCE so you weren’t born in 1 AD. The bible says you were born in 6 or 7 BCE and so do the new agers.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

This is information that I currently do not want to release to humankind. When I appeared 2,000 years ago, I taught in the tradition of the ancient mystery teachers. The purpose of this tradition is to teach and demonstrate the inner path. If a student becomes focused on outer, factual knowledge, it will prevent the student from walking the inner path.

Furthermore, 2,000 years ago humankind was in a different state of consciousness than today. As explained elsewhere, people were in a mythical state of consciousness. That is why I taught them in parables, and my parables obviously were not meant to be interpreted as factual events. What I am saying is that in the tradition of the ancient mystery teachers, I deliberately made it difficult for people to know certain facts about my life.

We are now moving into a rational age, and I foresee that in the not too distant future it will be possible to release these facts to humankind. We have not yet reached that point.

Furthermore, if I did give you a specific date, how could you possibly accept that date? Would you not immediately refer to some other source claiming that I was born on a different date and use that to doubt my statement?

Edgar Cayce did in fact bring forth many true teachings about me. However, the dates and the years that you mention are not correct.

Jesus’ biography

TOPICS: Jesus sees no point in us knowing the details of his life – the essence of his mission was the inner path – be not obsessed with outer facts –

Question: Why is there no true biography about Jesus?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Because I have not authorized anyone to write such a biography. This might change in the future when we of the ascended masters determine that humankind has risen to a sufficient level of consciousness.

However, you must understand that there really is no point in writing a biography about me. The reason being that the essence of my mission was not the outer, historical events. The essence of my mission is the inner path to a higher state of consciousness, namely personal Christhood.

Knowing the outer facts about my life will not help you walk that path. In fact, if you are obsessed with the outer facts, it demonstrates that you have not yet fully understood the inner message and the inner path.

Apollonius of Tyana

TOPICS: Apollonius of Tyana – many preachers at Jesus’ time –

Question: Did Jesus know of Apollonius of Tyana? Were Apollonius and Jeshu ben Pandira separate lifestreams from one another or were they incarnations of the same lifestream?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I briefly met Apollonius and had heard about him from some of my disciples. He could have been one of my disciples, but he chose to go his own way. He was not willing to recognize that I was the one who had been given the mantle as the Messiah. Instead, he wanted to be seen as the Messiah.

Once again, modern Christianity presents a distorted view of my life. I was only one among many preachers who talked about a new age and a new approach to religion. In reality, the religious life found 2,000 years ago was as diverse as what you find today. Many of my contemporaries considered me simply another New Age preacher (although the term obviously was not used back then). Many of the orthodox Jews saw me as part of a dangerous new movement that was to be ignored by followers of the true faith.

Apollonius and ben Pandira were separate lifestreams.

Was Jesus an Essene?

TOPICS: Jesus was not an Essene – Essenes took things too far into extremes – Jesus taught an inner path and therefore did not define outer requirements –

Question: Jesus, there is an Essene gospel which claims that you were an Essene, is that correct?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I was never formally an Essene, and I held no official position in the Essene community. I was affiliated with the Essenes, and I did hope that they would serve as a base for spreading my teachings. Unfortunately, the Essene community was not quite able to transcend its tendency to take things to the extremes. One such tendency was the insistence on a diet and lifestyle that was simply too unbalanced for most people. Another example was their dream that the Messiah would lead the Jews in a militant uprising against the Romans. Because I did not live up to their expectations of how the Messiah should be, they largely rejected me and did not fulfill my hopes. Therefore, I do not consider myself an Essene.

You see, my primary mission was to help people discover the universal path that leads to Christ consciousness. This is an inner path, and I attempted to describe it in universal terms, within the constraints of the culture in which I appeared. I did not set up any outer requirements that would make it more difficult for people to accept this path. I did not require people to follow a certain diet, become Jews before they could become Christians or become circumcised. These are outer factors, and although diet certainly can affect the speed of your spiritual growth, it is more important to follow the inner path to Christhood than to follow any outer rules or rituals.

The primary language of Jesus

TOPICS: Jesus’ primary language Aramaic – he spoke other languages

Question: What languages did you know/use in your Galilean embodiment?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

The primary language spoken by me and my disciples was Aramaic.

However, I found it easy to learn languages and could carry on conversations in several different languages, including Hebrew, Egyptian, Greek, and several languages spoken in Persia, India and Tibet.

I also learned some Sanskrit to study the old Vedic teachings during my travels in the East, as explained elsewhere.

Overturning the tables of the money changers

TOPICS: Moneychangers a symbol for what was wrong with Judaism – inner path of Jesus, outer path of orthodoxy – greed in the Temple – human anger versus holy wrath – the Christ challenges anti-christ – no reason for regret – mistakes are experiments that didn’t produce desired result –

Question 1: Master Jesus: Why did you overturn the merchant’s tables in the synagogue?

Question 2: Dear Jesus, do you have any regrets about turning over the tables in the Temple and showing the amount of anger that you did? If so, are there any other actions that you took in that embodiment that you feel, in retrospect, were in error?

This is a quote from Mark, Chapter 15:

15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
16 And would not suffer that any man should carry [any] vessel through the temple.
17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
18 And the scribes and chief priests heard [it], and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

As explained elsewhere, the situation with the moneychangers happened during a period when I was going through a very intense inner growth and becoming aware of my spiritual powers and mission. I was not always in complete harmony and balance, due to the rapid acceleration and the pressures of the world that were upon me during that time. So I did sometimes respond with more intense emotions than strictly necessary for the situation.

Why did I overturn the tables of the money changers? Because they were a symbol of everything that was wrong with the official Jewish religion. As explained throughout my website, I came to demonstrate the inner path to personal Christhood. The official Jewish religion had become the very antithesis of this path. The religious authorities were espousing an outer path, stating that the only road to salvation went through the outer religion. This had led to a subtle state of consciousness that caused many people to believe that by following the outer rules established by temple authorities, they could literally buy their way into heaven.

The moneychangers were selling their wares, and people thought that if they bought them and performed abundant sacrifices, they could appease God and buy their way to salvation. Obviously, this was a complete fallacy, and what better way to show it than to overturn the tables of the very people who were using the House of God as a tool for their personal greed? The moneychangers had no care or consideration whatsoever for the salvation of the people. They were driven by greed, and they used the Temple simply as an instrument for satisfying the human greed that can never be satisfied.

As a Christed being, there was no way I could see this without responding with the wrath that comes from knowing what is the truth of God and so clearly seeing what is out of alignment with that truth. You see, there is a subtle, but important, difference between human anger and Holy wrath, a righteous indignation that simply will not allow a wrong condition to continue. I was ready to give my life to reestablish the true inner path that leads to God, and as such I could not remain passive when confronted with such a blatant misuse of the inner path, such a blatant mockery of the true path to the kingdom of God.

So the overturning of the tables was a spontaneous reaction that was not calculated on my part. However, from a greater viewpoint, it was a necessary action because by striking this blow at the very heart of Temple authority, I provoked the situation of my public trial. This was indeed a necessary step towards bringing about the confrontation of my trial, a confrontation which forced the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and specifically the religious authorities, to choose whom they would serve, the Living Christ or the anti-christ. We all know today what their choice was, but at the time there was a hope that they would choose life over death.

As I said earlier, I was going through a very intense period of initiation and testing. Therefore, I did display some human anger in the situation with the moneychangers. I might not have displayed that anger at a later time, and certainly would not do so today. Nevertheless, I would be as determined and uncompromising today as I was back then in challenging any activity which is a mockery of the law of God. And I certainly would not fault any of my followers for challenging any mockery of the inner path displayed in the orthodox religions of today, even in orthodox Christianity itself.

Do I regret anything I did in the past? As an ascended being, I regret nothing. There are certain things I would not do today or that I would not do the same way, simply because my consciousness has progressed in the past 2,000 years. Yet what I did 2,000 years ago was an expression of the level of consciousness I had back then. So I did the best I could, given who I was at the time.

If you are constantly striving to manifest personal Christhood, then you are truly doing the best you can with your current level of consciousness. Therefore, there is no reason to look upon your actions with regret. You simply determine what you would or would not do again, without blaming yourself. One might say that you can look at life as an experiment. If an action produces the desired result, you might repeat that action. If an action does not produce the desired result, you might decide not to repeat that action.

As explained in my answer about the cursing of the fig tree, I did indeed make mistakes during my embodiment, and I can assure you that I made many mistakes during my previous embodiments on this planet. Every human being has made mistakes. However, the correct way to look at your mistakes is simply that they were experiments that didn’t produce the desired results. Instead of halting your spiritual growth by building the consciousness that you are a failure, a loser or a sinner, you should enhance your spiritual growth by simply learning from your unsuccessful experiments. Use those experiments as a learning experience, so that they become a stepping stone for your spiritual progress instead of a millstone around your neck.

Life is too short to spend time blaming yourself for the experiences of the past that can no longer be changed. Instead, you should spend your time improving your present and your future by taking command over the circumstances that can be changed. Perform successful experiments in the present time and thereby set the stage for a better future.

Jesus’ relationship and life with Mary Magdalene

TOPICS: Jesus was not married to Mary Magdalene before his crucifixion – Mary Magdalene was not pregnant – Jesus came to revolutionize society’s attitude to women – Gospel according to Mary Magdalene – Mary Magdalene was meant to be the leader of the disciples – Followers of the Way – Mary Magdalene meant to be the first pope – the male disciples rejected Mary Magdalene – she was removed, but did not go to France – Joseph of Arimathaea – Mary Magdalene in Kashmir – Jesus materialized a body to live with her – they had 7 children – Aimee Semple McPherson –

Question 1: In the book titled THE MAGDALEN MANUSCRIPT Mary Magdalen clearly states through her channel, Tom Kenyon, that she and Jesus conceived a daughter named Sar’h. In fact, in various other channeled information by Mary Magdalen, she also states that she had Jesus’ child. Apparently Jesus did not get to see his child before leaving the earth plane – this may be the reason for all the conflicting information but whether he met the child or not, the child would remain his offspring. This seems to conflict with other information on the topic. The question is simple: did Jesus sire a child or did he not?

Question 2: I have seen many mentions of the possibility that Jesus was a married man either before or after His crucifixion… I have not seen any mention of this on the website so far.. I saw/heard in a message from another Jesus/Jeshua channeler named Judith Coates that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and that there were children born. would like to see Jesus’ comment thru you on this matter to “settle the matter” once and for all in my mind. will be checking back to see if the question is answered. thanks for your website and all the material on it.

Question 3: Did you and Mary Magdalene have children? If so, are there any descendants living today?

Question 4: I respectfully ask, who was/is Mary Magdalene? Was Jesus married to her as is frequently put out in theory in so many books at this time. Is she an ascended master also?

Question 5: Were Jesus and Mary Magdalene married, and did they have children together? Was Mary Magdalene the13th apostle?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Let me first say that although I realize that many people have pure motives for asking these questions, I want to make it clear that the historical details about my life are truly unimportant compared to my spiritual teachings and the example that I set. My true message is that each human being has the potential to attain Christ consciousness and ascend to heaven. I demonstrated that message in my life, but to truly understand that message you must look beyond the historical details and see the universal aspect of my life. As I explain elsewhere, my life was meant to demonstrate the path that every lifestream can follow. Therefore, if people focus too much attention on the historical details, it can indeed become an obsession that takes them away from understanding and internalizing my universal message.

Another issue is that many of those historical details are being disputed, often from several different sources. I really have no desire to set the record straight about every historical detail concerning my life, because if I did so it would take up my messenger’s time for years, and his time could be spent far more constructively in helping people understand my universal message and my inner teachings so that they can apply those teachings to their lives and manifest their Christhood. I would rather have the visitors to my website become Christed beings than experts in history.

Having said that, let me now set the record straight concerning my relationship with Mary Magdalene. Mary Magdalene and I were not married prior to my crucifixion and my resurrection, and she was not pregnant with my child at that time. It would have been quite irresponsible of me to have a pregnant wife, knowing the turbulence that could follow at the end of my mission in Galilee.

In fact, had we been married and had she been pregnant, she would almost certainly have been killed by the very same people who plotted my crucifixion. They not only wanted to destroy me, but they surely would have destroyed any heir I might have brought into this world. Their aim was to destroy the very seed of Christ in any manifestation in which it appeared on earth. So for the sake of Mary’s protection, we were not married and she was not pregnant with my child.

Mary and I did, however, have a very close relationship. We were both aware that we had a deep spiritual connection, namely what many New Age people today call a soul-mate or twin-flame relationship. The fact is that Mary Magdalene and I are twin flames, and although we did not use that term back then, we were quite aware that we had a special relationship. However, this did not mean that we had any intent of getting married and living a normal family life. I came for a very specific spiritual mission, and part of it was to inaugurate a new movement that would teach the universal path to Christ consciousness.

As part of this movement, I sought to bring balance into the lives of all human beings, into society and into religious life. For this balance to truly have been manifest, it was necessary to completely change the attitude toward women that was so prevalent back then. I did indeed come to raise up women to their rightful roles as being equal to and of equal value as men. I came to eradicate the erroneous, in fact the Satanic, belief that women caused the fall of humankind and therefore were to be blamed and to be subservient to men forever.

If you would care to study the Gospel According to Mary Magdalene that was found at Nag Hammadi, you see that I did indeed appear to her before I appeared to any of my other disciples. From the official Gospels, and from some of the other Nag Hammadi texts, you will see that my disciples were very preoccupied with who would take over as their leader after my resurrection. I deliberately did not appoint a leader before my resurrection, and the reason was that my crucifixion, resurrection and ascension would, among many other things, serve as a test that could test the mettle of my disciples and my other followers.

I must say that several of my my male disciples did not exactly pass this test with flying colors, the more obvious example being Peter as described elsewhere. Yet Mary Magdalene did indeed pass this test by remaining true to our spiritual connection and looking for me in her heart more than in outer locations.

The vision I gave to Mary, as it is partially described in the Gospel of Mary, was that I wanted her to be the leader of all of my disciples and followers. I wanted her to be in charge of the new movement that I wanted to be known as the “Followers of the Way.” I wanted that movement to give full equality to women yet giving due considerations to the physical differences. In other words, it was my clear intention that Mary Magdalene would become the leader of what later became known as the Christian movement. This means that she would have been the very first pope, and not Peter as claimed by the Catholic Church. However, I had no intention of creating a position as the pope of the Catholic Church.

As you can well imagine, and as you can clearly see from both the official scriptures and Nag Hamadhi texts, the thought of having a woman as their leader was highly disturbing to my male disciples. In fact, they reacted against this so violently that it became obvious that they simply had not risen to the level of consciousness that would make it possible for them to accept the equality of men and women. Therefore, I faced the difficult decision of whether to shatter the early movement and scatter my disciples for the wind or whether to withdraw Mary Magdalene from a leadership position. After much deliberation with the ascended beings that served as my counselors, it was decided to withdraw Mary Magdalene.

However, because of the disobedience of my disciples, I did not appoint an official leader. I left it up to them to decide who would be their leader. This was, in fact, mandated by the Law of Free Will. This law states that when people receive direction from an ascended being and refuse to follow that direction, they can be given no further direction until they abandon the state of consciousness that cause them to disobey and sincerely ask for forgiveness and new directions.

Let me say that although this was a serious situation, it was not completely detrimental to the Christian movement. My male disciples did indeed have some measure of Christ consciousness that allowed them to be instruments of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I do not want anyone to reason that the early Christian movement went entirely astray because Mary Magdalene was not appointed its leader. I do however want people to be aware of the fact that from the very beginning the Christian movement did not follow my highest vision.

We of the ascended masters serve as the spiritual teachers of humankind. Before a certain lifestream descends into embodiment, it meets with its personal teachers to plan the lifestream’s embodiment. Because we have been in embodiment on earth, we know how difficult it can be to remember and follow your divine plan after you enter a physical body and are burdened by the heavy weight of both your personal and the planetary karma. Therefore, we have great compassion for the many people who do not fully remember or are not able to completely follow the divine plan for their life. And precisely because so many people cannot follow their divine plans, we have become experts in coming up with alternative solutions when it becomes clear that our first plan cannot be carried out. So after it became obvious that Mary Magdalene would not become the leader of the Christian movement, we did in fact come up with Plan B.

According to this plan, Mary Magdalene was removed from ancient Israel. I am aware that there are persistent stories that she went to France and had a child there, which was either my physical child or a child that was conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit. However, this was a story that was deliberately engineered as a decoy to mislead those who were after Mary’s life. It was in fact carried out by Joseph of Arimathaea, who was one of my most trusted collaborators, although he was not one of my official disciples. Joseph was indeed an initiate of a secret society, and he was working with me behind the scenes to do certain things that are not recorded in the scriptures and were not intended to become public knowledge. So Joseph was instrumental in creating the rumor of Mary’s travels to France, and he was also instrumental in secretly sending her to live in what is now Kashmir.

Had Mary Magdalene become the leader of the Christian movement, I would have been able to work more directly with that movement than I actually did. I could have done this because of our twin-flame relationship, whereby she could have become my hands and feet on earth that I could work through from my ascended state. Because none of my other disciples were able to serve in this capacity, I asked for and was granted an unusual dispensation.

In most cases, when a lifestream ascends, it does not return to a physical body. However, in a few cases an ascended master has been granted a dispensation to actually return in a physical body that is not born of a woman but is actually an ascended master light body that is lowered in vibration until it can be detected with the physical senses. I did appear in such a body to my disciples on several occasions but only for short periods of time. I was, however, given the dispensation to materialize such a body, and I did in fact join Mary Magdalene in Kashmir.

In Kashmir, only a very small group of trusted people knew our identities. And because secrecy was essential to Mary’s protection, none of my disciples knew anything about this. Some of them actually believed she traveled to France, others that she had Gone with Joseph to England.

We did indeed consecrate our relationship, but we were not formerly married in an outer church. We were married in the inner church. We did in fact have seven children, both boys and girls. There are indeed people today who are descendants of that blood line, but this really is not a fact with any spiritual significance. Christ consciousness cannot be produced mechanically, and therefore Christ consciousness cannot be encoded in human genes.

What can be encoded in the genes is the pattern of a perfect body and mind, which gives the lifestream the best opportunity to manifest Christ consciousness—yet it is still no guarantee. In other words, even if an ascended being conceived a child, there is no guarantee that that child will manifest Christ consciousness. It is entirely up to the lifestream of the child. Christ consciousness is not a product of the physical body but a product of the consciousness of the lifestream.

Mary Magdalene and I did live in Kashmir for many years. She died of old age, and shortly after that I withdrew my “physical” body. This happened at a time that would have made me 81 years old if I had continued to live in my physical body.

Mary Magdalene is today an ascended master, known as the Ascended Master Magda. Her last embodiment was as Aimee Semple McPherson who established the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel and built the Angelus Temple in Los Angeles.

The fig tree with no figs

TOPICS: Jesus could make mistakes – Jesus was going through a dramatic transformation – Jesus lost his harmony – with spiritual attainment comes great responsibility – balance is the key – dangerous to seek spiritual powers without wisdom and love –

Question: Dear Jesus, I have always been a little perplexed with the cursing of the fig tree, Matthew 21:18 -22. The fig tree had no figs, in Mark 11:13 it says that the time for figs was not yet and in both books you used the example to demonstrate what is possible when one has faith and doubts not, like moving mountains. My thinking was that there were more positive examples you could have used to demonstrate faith and doubting not. Further, this fig tree had good excuse for not having figs, they were not yet in season and maybe someone had been by an hour before. So I have always wondered the purpose for its destruction. My thinking was that this could be an example of the eventual result when a lifestream does not produce or fulfill its purpose as it should. Please comment on the meaning of this event.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

This is the text from Matthew, Chapter 21:

18 Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
20 And when the disciples saw [it], they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

A major purpose for my website is to help people overcome the idolatry of me that has been built over these past 2,000 years. This idolatry prevents people from realizing that they too are sons and daughters of God, that they have the potential to manifest Christ consciousness and that they can help bring God’s kingdom to earth. Because of this idolatry, so many Christians want to see me as being perfect. They think that because I was God incarnate, or because I was the only Son of God, I must have been born perfect and therefore I could never have made a mistake. This is a fallacy, and the sooner people get over it, the better.

I can understand why so many people have been confused about the situation with the fig tree, as well as by the overturning of the tables of the money changers, two events that took place very close to each other. The main reason for this confusion is the idolatry of Jesus Christ. However, it does not help that the incident with the fig tree was recorded incompletely by Matthew and Mark.

This was mainly due to the fact that they did not fully understand what was happening inside of me during these events. Obviously, they are not to blame for this. It is simply one of those incidents of incomplete communication that happens in the material octave and for which no one is to blame.

The reality of the situation is that I was not born perfect, I was not born with full Christhood. I was, as explained elsewhere, not born with full remembrance of my spiritual attainment or my mission. Therefore, I went through a gradual process of reawakening to my spiritual mission and purpose, and of actually putting on the fullness of my Christhood.

When a person goes through this process, he is gradually learning how to exercise the powers that Christhood gives you. And during this learning process, it is quite possible that even a person with a high degree of Christhood can make mistakes. In fact, as long as you are here on earth, you can make mistakes, regardless of your spiritual attainment. Therefore, it is theoretically possible that even a person will full Christhood can make mistakes.

What actually happened to me was that I was going through a very rapid process of personal transformation and acceleration of consciousness. As a result of this process, I manifested successively higher degrees of Christhood, and this happened so quickly that I did not fully have time to adjust to the increase in my powers. At the same time, I was also faced with many outer challenges, and I was burdened by the density and the darkness of the state of consciousness that dominated planet earth in those dark days.

When you bring all these factors together, you will see that I was going through a transformation in consciousness that was very dramatic, and therefore not completely smooth and harmonious. Normally, a person would have taken longer to complete this process, but because of the timetable of my mission, there was not enough time.

The pressures from the outside made it very difficult for me to keep my harmony in all situations. At the same time, my increasing powers meant that whatever I said would instantly become a physical reality. The positive aspect was that when I commanded someone to be raised from the dead or to be healed, it would instantly be made manifest. The not so positive aspect was that if I said something in anger, then that would also manifest almost instantly.

So here we have a situation where I was under great stress and I was hungry. I was expecting the fig tree to provide me with a morning meal, and when it did not do so, I responded with disappointment and anger. The simple reality of the situation is that I lost my harmony and said something that I should never have said. In short, I made a mistake.

Because of the high degree of Christhood I had attained, my curse of the fig tree became an instant reality. At the time, I can assure you that this incident was quite an eye opener to me. In fact, I can tell you that it was quite a shock for me. It took me into a phase of realizing that with great spiritual attainment comes great responsibility. Although I was aware of this on an intellectual level, it did not fully hit home until I stood in front of the withered fig tree and realized what had happened. I also realized that even though you have full Christhood, it is so very easy to momentarily slide below that state of consciousness, to lose your attunement, your balance and your harmony and thereby unleash a power that can cause great harm.

The statement in Matthew,

21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this [which is done] to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Is not recorded as it was originally given. What I actually tried to explain was that when you attain a high degree of Christhood – which Matthew erroneously described as having faith but which is much more – then whatever you say will be done. Therefore, whenever you make a statement, the universe will instantly manifest that which you decree. My original intent was to show my disciples the awesome responsibility that goes along with Christhood. Whatever you declare, whether it has positive or negative consequences, will be made manifest. Once you have attained a certain level of spiritual power, that power will be unleashed through your mind.

To illustrate this, one might say that there are two aspects of becoming the Christ. One is to develop the power of God, which is simply a force that flows indiscriminately, as electricity will warm a house or kill a person. The other aspect is to attain the wisdom and love of God so that one can direct the power only for God’s purposes and never for any lower purpose. In other words, the key to exercising Christhood is to have the right balance between the power of God and the wisdom of God, and the key to attaining this balance is the love of God. So only when one has the correct balance between power, wisdom and love can one exercise one’s Christhood in full measure.

The true lesson that people should learn from this incident is that attaining Christhood carries a solemn responsibility. As one begins to harness the power of God, it is extremely important that one also develops the wisdom and love of God. This is also illustrated in my saying that the violent seek to take heaven by force.

Throughout history, many people have attempted to develop various powers, including psychic powers or even the ability to manifest physical phenomena. It is actually possible to develop such powers without having the correct balance between love, wisdom and power. In fact, many Christians have manifested certain spiritual powers without having a correct understanding of the truth of God or an internalization of the love of God.

Throughout history, many people have, by focusing too much on the outer results and the outer powers, caused great harm to themselves and others. They did not have the wisdom and the love to direct their powers in a Godly manner. Therefore, the incident of the fig tree is a great lesson to those who are on the path to Christhood, and I thank you for giving me the opportunity to explain this incident in greater detail.

Accepting a new sense of identity as a son or daughter of God

TOPICS: God forsaken Jesus – crucifixion a symbol – people can rise to Christ consciousness – build a new sense of identity – accept yourself as individualization of God – the illusion that you can act without God – giving up your most subtle sense of identity –

Question: I have heard two versions of what was stated on the cross. One is “Why hast thou forsaken me.” The other version is that that was an error. Which is correct? If you did say it, why did you say it? And if you didn’t say it, what was said.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I did in fact speak words very similar to the biblical quote “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” There are those who find it difficult to accept that I should have felt forsaken by God. They have come to believe that I was the only Son of God or that I was God incarnate, and therefore I should somehow be perfect. If I was God incarnate, how could I possibly feel that I had forsaken myself? If I was the only Son of God and therefore perfect, how could I possibly feel that the Father had forsaken me?

These ideas are based on a lack of understanding of my true mission. I did not come to earth to demonstrate that God is perfect and human beings are imperfect (why demonstrate the obvious?). I came to demonstrate the path whereby an imperfect human being can rise to the perfection of the Christ consciousness.

The entire sequence of my life and crucifixion is meant to be seen as a symbolic illustration of the process of rising from the lower state of consciousness to the Christ consciousness. An integral part of this process, as I explain throughout this website, is that you must let go of your false sense of identity as a mortal human being and accept a new sense of identity as a son or daughter of God.

As you begin to walk the spiritual path, you gradually begin to build a sense of contact with your Christ self. Through your Christ self you also gain contact with heavenly beings, members of the ascended masters, who serve to assist you on your spiritual path. During this process, it is easy to begin to rely on these teachers and to take them for granted. This is not necessarily wrong, but in the end the lifestream must be able to walk the last steps of the path without any help from a source outside itself.

The basic law of this universe is the Law of Free Will. To fully rise out of the lower consciousness and enter the kingdom of heaven, which is the Christ consciousness, you must make a completely free decision to take that last step. To take the last step, you must let go of any and all attachments to the lower state of consciousness and to the things of this world.

Your spiritual teachers can give you much assistance on the path in terms of enlightenment and encouragement, but they cannot and will not make choices for you. You are the one who must choose, and you must do so on your own.

My life and crucifixion was an illustration of this path. You will see that I had contact not only with my Father in heaven but also with ascended beings. I constantly relied on this, and I constantly felt that the Father would answer my every prayer. Yet on the spiritual path there is always the risk that the tool that is meant to set the lifestream free can become a crutch that holds the lifestream back on the path.

There is always a risk that the lifestream can become codependent upon a tool outside itself (an outer teacher) instead of the tool inside itself (the Christ self). Therefore, in the end every lifestream must face the final initiation. That initiation is often called the dark night of the soul, but should technically be called the dark night of the spirit. A lifestream can receive much help from outside itself to walk the path, but in the end the lifestream must take the final step entirely on its own. In other words, when the lifestream faces the final initiation, all outside help is withdrawn.

Therefore, the soul literally feels that God has forsaken it. My exclamation on the cross was simply a vocalization of what my soul felt at that very moment. Not only was I hanging helpless on the cross, put there by the forces of this world, yet I suddenly felt left alone by the forces of heaven.

Once you understand that this initiation is an integral part of the path, you do not have to be frightened by it. Once you understand what is coming, you can prepare yourself. The simple fact is that you must choose to take the final step on your own. How can you take that final step? The key is to understand what the spiritual path is all about.

When your lifestream created a false sense of identity as being separated from God, the lifestream began to build the idea that it is acting on its own, that it is the doer. As the lifestream climbs the spiritual path, it begins to realize that it is not separated from God, and therefore it truly can do nothing on its own. The lifestream has free will and the lifestream can act, but it is acting by using God’s energy. This is expressed in my saying, “My Father works hitherto, and I work.”

The last initiation of the path is to finally and fully let go of the illusion that the lifestream can act without God. This requires the lifestream to let go of the illusion that God is somehow outside of or separate from itself. Take note of my ministry. I talked about my Father in heaven. Obviously, when you see God as being somewhere in heaven, you see God as being outside yourself. This is the final illusion that you must shed before entering the kingdom of heaven. You must realize that you are not separated from God because you are an individualization of God.

Take note of what happened to me on the cross. Up until that point, I had firmly believed in and relied on my Father in heaven. Suddenly, that support was withdrawn from me, and at first my soul felt confused and left alone. That is why I cried out in agony. Then I followed the momentum that I had built during my entire mission of withdrawing from the things of this world and going into the innermost regions of my lifestream.

There I finally recognized the illusion that makes people think they could possibly be separated from God. I realized that the idea that God could somehow be outside myself is the essential illusion of this world. When I saw through this final illusion, I did, as the scriptures record, give up the ghost. What I truly gave up was my false sense of identity as being separated from God, as being different from God.

The unfortunate effect of the idolatry that has been built around my person for these past 2,000 years is that so few people can see me as an example. Therefore, they fail to see that my mission, including my crucifixion, was meant to illustrate the path that they too must follow. My entire purpose for speaking in this age is to help people see beyond that illusion and to truly see the meaning of my command, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” If you truly love me, follow in my footsteps. Be willing to walk the path that I walked.

Take note of my saying, “He who is willing to lose his life for my sake shall find it.” The true meaning is that he who is willing to lose the false sense of identity as a mortal being separated from God shall find the true life of the Christ consciousness.

Please note that I am not hereby saying that everyone has to literally be nailed to a wooden cross as I did. Again, the outer events of the crucifixion were symbolical of the inner, spiritual path. However, as a lifestream puts on personal Christhood, it will go through a process of being condemned by the forces of this world. The key to successfully completing this spiritual crucifixion is to surrender your mortal sense of identity, and all of the attachments that go with it.

Let me also say that you do not have to die physically to win your Christhood. My death on the cross was a symbol of the death of the lower consciousness, the false sense of identity, the human ego. Ideally, a lifestream should be willing to let this ego die so that the lifestream can attain Christhood while still in a physical body. In other words, you don’t have to die to become the Christ. But you have to be willing to die, meaning that you are willing to let go of all attachments to the things of this world.

Jesus’ personality

TOPICS: Idolatry prevents people from seeing that Jesus had individuality – he is considered a non-person by many – you do not lose individuality by putting on Christhood – Jesus had a distinct personality – there is only one truth, but it can be expressed in many different ways – truth must be individualized in order to be expressed – more than one true religion – you must look beyond the outer teaching – some rejected Jesus’ teachings because of his personality – the world is an unending opportunity to learn and grow – Jesus is a very direct master – Jesus is not touchy-feely – Jesus accepts no excuses – only Christhood will satisfy our inner longing –

Question: What kind of person was/is Jesus?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

How come so many Christians have never seriously considered what kind of person I was? Why don’t they consider what kind of personality and individuality I expressed during my mission?

One obvious reason is that they consider me to be the son of God. Because of the intense cult of idolatry built around me, people find it difficult to imagine that I had individuality and personality. Yet, I was born of a woman, and I grew up as any other child. Why would I not have been born with a certain individuality, and why would I not have developed a distinct personality during my formative years?

What I am trying to make you see here is that most people consider me to be almost a non-person. They think that the son of God would not have personality and individuality. This simply is not the case.

It is unwise to use the dualistic mind to reason backwards. The reason being that as long as the lifestream is caught in the dualistic mind, the lifestream will project human qualities onto God. Therefore, the lifestream will develop a false image of God. Yet, there is nothing wrong with reasoning that the son of God has individuality.

The reason why I am bringing up this point is that every lifestream was originally created with a distinct individuality. The lifestream has a very deep inner desire to preserve and develop that individuality. This inner desire is the driving force behind what people call the survival instinct. Your spiritual survival instinct is a desire to preserve your true individuality so that it is not destroyed by any outside influence.

Because of this survival instinct, no human being will want to put on Christhood if they believe that putting on Christhood means that you have to lose your individuality. Therefore, it is important for me to make you understand that you do not lose your individuality by putting on your Christhood.

By putting on the new human of your Christhood, you will have to put off the old human of the dualistic mind and your pseudo identity. Therefore, in one sense you might lose some of the characteristics that you currently consider to be part of your personality. For a lifestream who is very identified with the dualistic mind, this might seem like a loss. However, as soon as the lifestream begins to shift its sense of identity towards the Christ consciousness, that sense of loss will quickly disappear.

Imagine that you are walking down the street and meet a man who is dressed in expensive clothing. The man asks if you have a penny, and you show him a coin. The man now tells you that if you will give him the penny, he will give you a million dollars in return. Would you lose anything in that bargain?

Yes, you would indeed lose the penny, but would it be a true loss? When I walked the earth, I was like the man who offered everyone the million dollar value of the Christ consciousness in return for their pocket change of the human personality. It truly was the deal of a lifetime, yet I am sorry to say that most people rejected my offer.

So many people preferred to hold on to the pseudo personality of the dualistic mind instead of embracing the true personality that was given to them by God. Please do not hold on to a few pennies and thereby lose the kingdom of God.

You will not lose your true individuality by putting on your Christhood. Instead, you will find your God-given personality, and you will be free from the prison house of the false individuality that is constantly tormenting your lifestream.

Jesus in Kashmir

TOPICS: Jesus and Mary Magdalene after his resurrection –

Question: Would you please comment on the books and related research that have been done (by at least four independent sources of which I am aware) that tell about your life in India as the Saint named Issa until the age of about 80+?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I have stated elsewhere on this website that I did travel to India and Tibet before my mission in Galilee. Many of the references to Saint Issa actually refer to those travels.

When you give forth a spiritual teaching, you are always trying to strike a balance, so that you give people enough to help them come up higher, but not so much that they are overwhelmed. For this reason, I do not want to give a detailed teaching about what I did after my resurrection.

What I will say is that after my resurrection, I had qualified for my ascension. However, I chose to ask for a dispensation to manifest a new physical body, which I used to create a new life together with Mary Magdalene. We did live together in the area of what is now Kashmir and we did have children together. However, I was not widely known and did not teach or manifest any public miracles. Thus, I was not actually known as Saint Issa after my resurrection.

Jesus, Sananda—again

TOPICS: Jesus is not Sananda – the purpose of false teachers is to discourage you – they do this by making false promises that can never be fulfilled – you must use discernment – you are responsible for what you take in –

Question: Jesus I am going to ask a question that a lot of people on earth are wondering about….Since the internet states that you are also Sananda….Then let me ask this…..Since you claim to be in the body of Jesus as him….You must of thought as he did….Jesus stated many times accept god as your personal savior…God will accept you into his kingdom in heaven….It supposedly a beautiful place….

Here are several problems I and many others have….The internet states that you sananda/jesus are from venus….That is just a planet full of floating around ascended lifestreams…..It is also said that you jesus sananda are living on the spacecraft capricorn,  and have been for quite some time….
So where is this beautiful gods kingdom if you as alledgely gods son never made it there,  and are living on a space craft……The capricorn…Also said that you beam down to work in utah with the mormons every day…….
What happens if someone finds out that they are a reincarnated lifestream of one of the ascended masters,  and has alot of similarities to you…..After reading all this stuff about you on the internet decides it isn’t worth it to ascend….When they feel they have been betrayed by you….
Another thing what makes all the aliens especially you think people would want to evolve,  and ascend,  and become gods especially after what was said about you on the space craft capricorn,  and living on venus….I am a star seed with advanced abilities,  and many are watching me especially many aliens…..I see no gods kingdom in what I have read about you…I don’t see anything beautifull about it…

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

The internet is a great tool for disseminating information. Unfortunately, it is an equally “great” tool for disseminating disinformation, and I assume you have realized that not everything that is available on the internet is true or useful. As I explain throughout this website, everything on earth is subject to the free will of human beings. As an ascended master I do not have the authority to override people’s free will, and thus I have no way of controlling what information deceitful or naive people put on the internet.

Thus, I cannot prevent that so many people put information on the internet that links my name to the name of a false teacher who calls himself Sananda. All I can do is denounce this information, as I have already done abundantly on this website. Link 1, Link 2.

I clearly feel compassion for the many people who have been misled by this disinformation. As can be seen from your own letter, the study of this disinformation has left you confused and discouraged—and this is precisely the hidden goal behind these teachings. These false teachers seek to attract people who are spiritually aware but who have not yet attained Christ discernment. Thus, they are vulnerable to big promises, and when the promises are not fulfilled, they end up feeling discouraged and might give up on the spiritual path—which of course is the goal of all false teachers.

However, I must say that I cannot feel responsible for the fact that you or anyone else has been affected by this disinformation, even though it uses my name. Quite frankly, many Christian churches have put out disinformation in my name, and I obviously am not responsible for the fact that some people misuse their free will. The people who put out the information are responsible for doing so, and the people who take it in are responsible for what they choose to study.

It is your responsibility to use your discernment concerning what information you allow into your mind. Thus, I must point out to you that taking a blaming tone – blaming me for the fact that you have voluntarily taken in information that I had nothing to do with – shows that you have not taken full responsibility for your personal growth.

If you will study my teaching on false teachers, you will see that when people study false information, it is usually because the information tells them something they – or rather their egos – want to hear. So if you will honestly look at what beliefs you have that made you vulnerable to these false Jesus/Sananda teachings, you can turn the experience around and use it to build your discernment.

Jesus’ relationship with Sananda

TOPICS: Jesus never used the name Sananda – some forces seek to deliberately deceive or confuse –

Question: Can you please tell me what your relation is with/to Sananda?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

There are several non-material beings who use the name Sananda.
I am not one of them.

Contrary to what some of these beings claim through their channeled messages, Sananda is not my real name. I do have an inner name, but that name has not been revealed on planet earth for it cannot be heard by the human ear or spoken by the human tongue.

Among my colleagues of the ascended masters, I am known as Jesus, Jesus Christ and the Ascended Master Jesus Christ. These are the only names that I have used after my ascension, and these are the only names that I plan to use.

Ask yourself why I would use a different name, when I am known the world over as Jesus or Jesus Christ? Why would I suddenly bring outer teachings that have little or no connection with the teachings I gave during my mission on earth? I encourage you to use your intuition and consider whether such ideas make sense to you.

Does it not seem far more reasonable that I, acting in my ascended state as a spiritual being, an ascended master, would seek to give people my true inner teachings? Does it not seem more reasonable that I would build upon the foundation that I gave my life to build those 2,000 years ago?

There are certain forces who in their ignorance seek to deceive people and prevent them from walking the path of personal Christhood. Such forces have given forth much material that has the following purposes:

  • •To deceive those who can be deceived.
  • To confuse those who have not attained proper discernment.
  • To make many others close their minds to anything that is beyond their traditional belief system, be it of a scientific or religious nature.

One of the main reasons for creating this website is to encourage everyone to walk the path of personal Christhood. Through that Christhood, you will achieve discernment that will allow you to use the Sword of Truth to divide the real from the unreal. Be not discouraged by the fact that there is so much unreality on the earth. Pursue the path of personal Christhood, and you will see through the unreality and find the diamonds of true spiritual knowledge that are hidden among the coals of ignorance.

Jesus from Nazareth

TOPICS: People identified by groups, not specific location – all can be saved –

Question: In regards to “of Nazareth,” which is quite hilarious because Nazareth never existed during Jesus’ life. It arrived a couple hundred years after. So it seems to stand that of nazareth is a mistranslation of the Nazarene of the Nazarean. Nazareth never existed on any map of Palestine at that time there is no map of ancient Palestine with Nazareth on it, But there is a Gennesareth.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Ancient Israel was a turbulent society with groups of people moving in and out and groups of people having a nomadic lifestyle. People often used group affiliation as a means of identification. There were many regions with no clearly defined geographical center. After groups settled down and towns started to grow, a geographic center was formed. The town often became named after the people who were most numerous in the region.

As I have said elsewhere, there are many things in the Bible that should not be taken literally. Certain things were added later, and, unfortunately, some things were taken out.

In this case, I don’t think your point alters the basic message. I grew up amongst a group of people whom many, especially in Jerusalem, considered outcasts. This was done to show that God is no respecter of persons and that all have the opportunity to be saved. This was an important message amongst Jews because many of them believed that they alone were God’s chosen people and that they alone would be saved. Today, many people believe that only Christians will be saved. Again, this is a fallacy.

Yeshua or Jesus Christ

TOPICS: Jesus was known as Yeshua – his ascended master name is Jesus Christ – Jesus Christ is the official name and carries his vibration – Jesus does not use Sananda – people need to make peace with Jesus in order to enter the Aquarian age consciousness –

Question 1: If Sananda is not, and never was your true self, then who is or who was? I know you were Jesus the Christ when you where on earth, but who are you NOW? They say even the Greatest Masters evolve, and if names have vibrations, then certainly you must have another name, isn’t this so? Not to put you on the spot, beloved Jesus, but I think you understand. One of the things that I always liked about you, even while your mission on earth, is being so practical, as to evade even rigorous disciplines you set for yourself, in order to serve and save others, even from their own mistakes.

Question 2: Why do you call yourself Jesus when the letter J was not in the original Aramaic language?
My dear friend is a very clear channel and channels Jeshua (Yeshua). If you are the real Jesus, who is the being my friend channels?

Question 3: Why do you use the name Jesus Christ and not Jesus the Christ?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

When I was on earth, I was not known as Jesus Christ. I was known by my Aramaic name of Yeshua.

Today, I am an ascended master by the name of Jesus Christ, and that is the name by which I am known by my colleagues among the ascended masters. That is also the name that captures my vibration and invokes my Presence. It is indeed the official name that I use for this planet and will use for the foreseeable future. Even alternative spellings of my name in Greek or Aramaic are not my official name and will not carry the same vibration as the name, Jesus Christ.

I do have an inner, or spiritual name, but that name cannot be spoken by the human tongue or heard by the human ear. Nor would I release that name, or rather a material version of it, given the current state of consciousness of humankind. If I were to do so, certain people on this planet would immediately misuse it in their rituals of black magic. So any entity who claims to be me and claims to be using my “true spiritual name” or my “real name” is surely not the real Jesus Christ.

Concerning disciplines, when you have passed a certain initiation on the spiritual path, you no longer need to adhere to the discipline that was necessary for you to pass the initiation. When you have learned to walk, you no longer need crutches. A discipline is defined to help you grow. If you become rigid and fanatical in applying the discipline, it will hinder your growth. Man was not made for the sabbath.

Concerning the second question, why would I use the Aramaic version of my name when I am speaking in English? I am using this website in an effort to reach the widest possible audience, and the name by which I am most universally known is “Jesus Christ.”

I have occasionally appeared to people and used the Aramaic version of my name, but I have no intention of using that name to reach a wide audience.

I understand that many New Age people have been emotionally scarred by the fear-based approach to religion perpetuated by orthodox Christianity. I have compassion for those who need healing in order to approach me without the heavy weight of fear or guilt put upon them in childhood. Nevertheless, spiritual progress requires you to overcome all fear, so I have no intention of tiptoeing around people’s fears by using a different name, be it Sananda or any other name used by the many channelers in the marketplace.

If people are to successfully make the transition into the Aquarian consciousness, they must do so by making peace with me, as explained elsewhere. They cannot do that by listening to an entity that claims to be me and uses a false name. They can do so only by tuning in to my true vibration and Presence, so they can realize that the real Jesus is a master of love and not a false master who uses fear. I came to give people the perfect love that will cast out fear. Accept that love, and you will overcome all fear or other negative feelings associated with the name Jesus Christ.

Concerning the third question, “Jesus the Christ” is a title. The title “the Christ” can and will be given to anyone who attains Christ consciousness. Nevertheless, a title sounds very formal, and after a while, it is natural to shorten it to “Jesus Christ.” I use Jesus Christ because it sounds less formal—you might say that is a purely personal preference. However, by using both “Jesus” and “Christ” most people can tie in to my vibration more effectively than by using only “Jesus” or only “Christ.” Because “Christ” is an impersonal title, it does not capture my vibration as well as “Jesus Christ,” and I do not encourage people to use the term “Christ” when referring to me of calling upon me. As you develop a closer personal relationship with me, it will be natural for you to use the name “Jesus” only.

Painting of Jesus by Glenda Green

TOPICS: Jesus can take on many appearances – he works with different artists – no person or institution has a monopoly on the Living Christ –

Question: Is the portrait of Jesus painted by Glenda Green a valid portrayal of Jesus?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

It is indeed a valid image of me. However, it is not the only possible image of me. As I explain throughout this website, in the spiritual realm everything is more fluid than in the material realm. I can take on many different appearances, and I have indeed appeared to other artists, both today and in the past, who have painted or sculpted images of me that are also valid offerings from my heart.

So while it is perfectly acceptable to honor the work done by one artist, one should never fall into the trap of thinking that a particular work is the only true image of me. I work with many artists and messengers, but I give a monopoly to none.

This is a mistake that was made by the Catholic Church 1,500 years ago and has been perpetuated both by the Catholic Church and many other churches ever since. No human being or organization ever has had and ever will have a monopoly on the Living Christ and the truth of God. If you keep that in mind, you will avoid falling into the trap of swearing allegiance to a particular outer expression of truth and thereby potentially cause your spiritual growth to come to a grinding halt.

So please enjoy all of the valid offerings without confining yourself to any one of them. The spiritual reality is always greater than any expression of that reality found in the material realm.

Picture of Jesus by Fern Beckham

TOPICS: Portrait for people who need compassion – be not attached to any image of Jesus – not idolatry – Jesus does not fit into any mental box – experience Jesus in your heart –

Question: Jesus, Would you speak about a picture of you as you apparently appeared to Dewy and Veda Mauk, painted by Fern Beckham?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

It is a viable portrait of me. The people who initiated the creation of this picture did have a true vision of me. The artist was indeed overshadowed by the Holy Spirit, and therefore the portrait is viable. However, it is a portrait that is specifically designed for people who need to feel my compassion. Obviously, people are in many different states of consciousness, and for those who are not facing a crisis, there is limited value in using this picture as a focus for tuning in to my vibration. It would be better to use other pictures of me, as you get direction from within.

What I am saying here is that you should not allow your outer mind to become attached to any particular image of me. You should always be open to letting your intuition, your Christ self, direct you to the image of me that you need at your current level of the spiritual path.

I hope you will also remember that I am more than any picture that could possibly be created in this world. No picture can capture the totality of my Being. This does not mean that it is wrong to use a picture in order to tune in to my vibration. Some Christians claim that according to the Bible’s command not to have any graven images, it is wrong to use any image of me. However, this command applies only to God and not to members of the ascended masters. It is perfectly legitimate to use a picture as a focus for your attention while you attempt to attune your consciousness to my vibration. Simply listen to your heart in order to find the image that appeals to you at your present level of the path. And then do not forget that I am more than the image.

I am indeed the real Jesus Christ who is more than any image, be it a physical image or a mental image, that human beings have created. The dualistic mind loves to create neat little mental boxes and then attempt to fit reality into them. Over the past 2,000 years, human beings trapped by the dualistic mind have created numerous boxes and have put the label “Jesus Christ” on them. Some boxes give a completely false image of me, while others are more accurate. Yet no box ever created by human beings can contain the totality of my Being.

I am not saying you should throw away your box. I am saying that you should constantly seek to expand your box and that you should allow your Christ self to give you the truth about me, the truth that will set you free from any mental images so that you can know my true Being within your heart. I am Jesus Christ, and you cannot fit me into a box in your head, but you can experience my Presence in your heart. If an image helps you have the direct experience, then that is good. If the image blocks the experience, it is time to recycel the paper.
