Question: Within one year there have been two school massacres in my country of Finland, so I ask, what is wrong with us?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

This is a question that is very understandable—I know, for example, that there are people in the country of Austria who are wondering why this man was allowed to imprison his own child in the basement for a number of years and why this has actually happened more than once—why this certain violence in their country? However, I must tell you that there is nothing wrong with you as such.

It is simply that as the energies of the planet are raised, what you will see is a polarization—where the difference between light and darkness will become more pronounced. It is, so to speak, a function of the fact that the earth is receiving more spiritual light, and the light gives every person an opportunity to absorb the light.

And this can be used in two ways. You can use it to raise your consciousness. But if you refuse to raise your consciousness by looking at the beam in your own eye – dealing with your own psychology, overcoming your illusions – well then the light will actually multiply the darkness, the unresolved psychological problems in your being. And the purpose for this is to make them more visible for one person, or for a group of people, even for an entire nation.

As we have mentioned before, there was a lesson for the entire European continent in the events leading up to and precipitating the Second World War. Nazism in Germany was not a completely German phenomenon but was an expression of the entire collective consciousness of Europe, bringing people to the point where they finally see the darkness and say, “This cannot go on! We can never allow this kind of genocide, or this kind of fanaticism, to occur again on our continent.” Which then, unfortunately, did not come to pass, as there was indeed genocide in the Balkans and the rest of Europe largely stood by.

Nevertheless, my point here is that in the country of Finland you are part of the planetary process. And what is happening – as is happening in many other nations – is that the tendencies that the population will not surrender must become more pronounced. Until they finally get so obvious that people see it and begin to ask the questions that they have not so far been willing to ask. You could also explain this in terms of the Second Law of Thermodynamics, where if people are refusing to open their minds to new energies and new ideas, well then things will begin to break down because they become closed mental boxes.

And so, in Finland specifically, you do again have a situation where the people do not have a clear spiritual vision, have never been given a vision of themselves as spiritual beings. You also have a tendency to insulate and isolate yourselves and not really know whether you are part of the East, or part of Europe, or part of Scandinavia, or where you actually fit into the greater picture.

So there is a tendency to withdraw from interaction with the surrounding world. And then you go into the long dark winter, where you – so to speak – numb yourselves through alcohol, as you will see that alcoholism in Finland and alcohol use in Finland is on the rise and is indeed much greater than it should be at this point in the world’s evolution.

This of course is not unique to Finland, as you see the same in many other nations. But it is something that actually is more pronounced in the Scandinavian countries, due to their placement further north in Europe—you have the longer, darker winter. And you see, the physical darkness has a profound effect on the psyche, and if the people do not invoke spiritual light as a compensation for the missing sunlight, well then, they experience a very real sense of depression. Which then predisposes them to use alcohol to numb that feeling, and this then prevents the entire nation from rising and growing.

As I explained, when the entire planet is being raised up and more light is released, well then, the population of the Scandinavian countries is not growing along with that pace. And so, there must be certain manifestations that come about, because those who are the weakest – those who have the lowest state of consciousness – then become open to expressing the darkness that is there in the collective consciousness.

You see, again, nothing can happen in a nation if it is not an expression of the collective consciousness. Take my discourse about the top ten percent, the lowest ten percent and the eighty percent in the middle. If the top ten percent in a country have not taken a stand – have not raised their consciousness – well then where is the authorization to God and the ascended masters to ban a certain manifestation of darkness expressed through the lowest ten percent?

We cannot take those people until there are those that are raised up to be the opposite polarity, or until the people in general decide that this is enough, that this cannot go on. But again, even the eighty percent cannot alone do this. The top ten percent must rise to that level of Christhood that corresponds to the perversion you see.

For a young person to acquire a gun and go into his school and start shooting his own classmates and teachers, there is no logic here, there is nothing to understand. You cannot analyze this person’s psychology, even though some have attempted to find some event that happened in this young person’s life that caused him to do this.

You cannot find a psychological explanation for this—unless you truly understand the existence of dark forces, and how these dark forces are allowed to exist in a nation as a result of the level of the collective consciousness. And then those who are the weakest – because of certain psychological conditions – well, then they become taken over by these dark forces and the dark forces have only one goal for an event like this.

Well, actually they have several, but their primary goal is the shedding of the blood of the innocents, which they then drink—the lifeblood. For as you should know, the blood is very much a carrier of consciousness in the body. And so, when the physical blood is spilled, well then a part of that person’s spiritual light is released with it. And that is what the dark forces then can absorb, because as the person is dying or wounded, well the fear or the sadness or the anger that the person experiences will color the spiritual light, giving it a lower vibration that the dark forces can absorb.

There is, of course, the goal they have of scaring the population – inducing fear, or even confusing the population and making them think, as you expressed, “What is wrong with us?” – but doing so in a fearful way that actually does not help the population raise their consciousness but causes them to go into this vibration of fear. As you, for example, saw, especially in the United States, after the events of 9/11, where the people did not actually raise their consciousness but went into this fear mode – led by the government – that we now have to protect ourselves by becoming more militant and taking away civil liberties.

So again, you see that there are more subtle purposes, but the primary purpose that the dark forces have behind an event such as this – the school shootings that have happened in the United States, and many other events like this, including the event in Russia where the terrorists kidnapped the children in the school – the primary reason here is simply the spilling of the blood of the innocents. For again, as more light is released on this planet, the dark forces have less and less energy that they can absorb. And so, they need people to perform more and more extreme acts of perversion – whether it be violence or sexual perversions or other forms of perversions – in order to be able to sustain their existence and maintain their power.

And so, I give you this explanation because you have a spiritual vision. And I trust you realize that obviously you cannot bring this truth across to the general population in any nation, for they would of course ridicule you beyond all measure. Nevertheless, there is value in this being spoken in the physical – going into the collective consciousness where it forms a seed that will eventually lead to a breakthrough in people recognizing that if we really want to understand what we call human evil, we must look beyond the human level and see that human evil is not actually human. It comes from a level beyond the human but is only expressed through human beings.

Going to Germany, where we saw this manifestation of the Nazis and the Holocaust, you have many people who have asked the question, “How could people do this?” But you see, people cannot do this to each other when they recognize that they are people themselves and that the victims are people as well. Therefore, people can do this only when their minds are taken over by dark forces—who do not recognize the value of life, for they see no value in their own existence.

They do not see that even the darkest of dark beings have a spark of light in the center of their beings. They think they are entirely devoid of light, therefore even though they may not know this consciously, they think they are worthless beings and they think that human beings are worthless as well, and that life has no intrinsic value but can be traded as a piece of property or can be taken in violence.

Question from Kim: Jesus, do you have any comment on the shooting at Virginia Tech? What really causes such an incident, what are the spiritual causes behind it? I was surprised to read that since the incident, there have been quite a number of threats about copy-cat incidents, with young people threatening to kill more people than the shooter at Virginia Tech. It seems there is a segment of young people in America who actually see this kind of action as something to be admired, copied and bested. Can you explain why our society has come to this point?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

I obviously have no desire to be insensitive to the people who have been directly affected by this incident, nor to the people who might fear that they or their children could be the victims of future incidents. However, I do want to make it clear that I am neither shocked nor surprised by this incident, for I clearly see what most people in America refuse to see.

In fact, I consider much of the public reaction – from the media, from politicians and from most citizens – to be an obvious case of hypocrisy. As all hypocrisy, it is based on a denial, a denial of the responsibility to look for the beam in one’s own eye. Most people are – as usual – more interested in pointing the finger at someone else, rather than admitting that this shooting is only one – admittedly dramatic but certainly not isolated – consequence of a system-wide problem for which all Americans are partly responsible.

In fact, if one were to step back from this incident, one might consider the fact that every single week far more than 30 people are killed all across America as a result of this system-wide problem. It might be through drugs and drug-related crime, including gang violence, or it might be through suicide of other kinds—in which I include many types of self-destructive lifestyles. These incidents have simply become so common that they have lost their shock effect, thus barely causing raised eyebrows, much less headlines.

The brutal fact is that the American nation has produced a generation of young people who have no purpose in life and thus do not value life – their own or that of other people – as should be normal and natural. So the real question is whether America as a nation is willing to consider why it has produced people who see no higher purpose to life?

As I explain throughout this website, this universe is designed to serve as a schoolroom for human beings. Thus, any incident that happens has the potential to become a learning experience. I have also explained that people can learn in two ways. One is by being open to spiritual direction and the other is through the school of hard knocks, where people learn by experiencing the – often painful – consequences of their actions.

So what we have here is – in its objective essence – an incident in which the American nation is receiving an opportunity to learn by seeing the extreme material consequences of its unwillingness to learn through spiritual direction. As a spiritual teacher, I lament the fact that people so often refuse to learn until they are faced with such consequences. Yet because I respect free will, I am always willing to help people learn. I wish their minds could be opened to learning without these extreme events, yet for those who are willing to learn from this incident, let me offer some thoughts.

Thought 1

First, let me say that I find it unlikely that American society as a whole will actually learn the lesson people need to learn from this incident. The reason is that the lesson that needs to be learned is that a society without spirituality will inevitably lead to self-destruction. Yet it was precisely America’s refusal to reach for – true – spiritual guidance that produced the circumstances that led to this incident.

As is so often the case, we have a spiritual catch-22. The very consciousness that created the problem also prevents people from seeing the problem and its cause—thus blinding them to the solution. Moreover, that same consciousness makes people prone to respond to the situation in a way that will not change the basic equation—and thus is likely to increase tension and thus set the stage for an even more tragic event in the future. This was the very mechanism that caused America to fail to learn from the 9/11 event and set the stage for the current situation in Iraq. As I have said before, you cannot solve a problem with the same state of consciousness that created the problem.

Thought 2

As Saint Germain eloquently explained, any closed system inevitably self-destructs, and this applies to a person as well. As should be clear from even a superficial study of this situation, the shooter did indeed isolate himself, thus becoming a closed system in which he became increasingly blinded by his own delusions, until the tension became so intense that he self-destructed. Yet it is also clear that several people were aware that he had a problem. So why did no one – including family, friends, other students, teachers or the system itself – get him the help he needed?

Part of the explanation for this is the American national psyche, which many people see as American individualism. Yet America is a cosmic experiment, which is a microcosm of the planetary experiment that Maitreya describes in his book. The basic idea is to bring together people from many different backgrounds so that they can challenge each other’s illusions, their mental boxes. The reason this is an experiment is that it can go in one of two ways:

• People can expand their mental boxes and learn to see beyond outer differences, including race, ethnicity, nationality and sex. They can develop a true community spirit as human beings – or even better, as spiritual beings – and transcend the differences that normally divide people. In its essence, the purpose of the experiment is to break the isolationism that most groups of people have and force people to become more open to the universality behind appearances (Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. (John 7:24)). The ultimate universality being, of course, that all people are the offspring of the same God.
• People can close their minds and become even more isolationist, seeing the presence of different people as a threat that is forced upon them. Thus, they inevitably go into the Cain consciousness, as expressed in the quote, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Genesis 4:9). Is it not obvious that too many people separated themselves from the shooter and did not see themselves as his keeper? Obviously, his Asian descent played a part in this, but there is still a general tendency in America of not taking responsibility for others—actually thinking others should be left alone.

My point here is that America has a tendency to think that individual freedom trumps everything else, yet since no man – or woman – is an island, this is a mindset that needs to be expanded. If you do not want to be your brother’s keeper, don’t complain if your brother – after having become a closed system for lack of contact with other people – comes at you with a gun.

Obviously, one could say that many Americans do not see certain other people as their brothers and thus feel no responsibility for keeping them. An unbiased study of history will show that there is much discrimination in American society. My point here is not to place blame, but to simply point out that the tension between various groups of people is a clear sign of dualistic elements, causing people to polarize into opposing factions. This should be a clear warning sign that MUST be addressed and overcome.

This polarization can be overcome only by a critical mass of Americans looking beyond outer appearances – including race – to find the universal commonality between all people. Yet where shall the willingness to look beyond come from? Well, it can come ONLY through a spiritual world view that recognizes a universal source for all people.

Thought 3

The central issue in this incident is now coming into focus, namely that the shooter obviously did not value life—neither his own nor that of the other people he killed. So the real question is why modern American society – and most of western society – has produced a generation of young people with this lack of respect for life? Where must the respect for life come from?

Well, it can come from only one source, namely a clear understanding of the spiritual reality of life. That reality is what we explain throughout this website, and it is explained in great detail in Maitreya’s book. Yet let me give a very brief summary of the points that are important to this incident:

• The Conscious You is an extension of, an individualization of, the Creator’s own Being.
• You are designed to start out with a limited self-awareness and multiply your talents until you first become an immortal spiritual Being and then move on to attain the self-awareness of your Source.
• The growth in self-awareness gives a clear purpose and direction to life. This also gives your life an immeasurable value.
• Beyond personal growth you also have a greater purpose, namely to help bring God’s kingdom and a Golden Age to earth, even to raise up the entire sphere in which you live and make it a permanent part of the spiritual realm.
• You have lived many lifetimes before, and in this lifetime you wanted to achieve certain goals, including learning specific lessons, paying back debts from past lives and expressing your unique individuality.
• You have a Divine plan for this lifetime, a plan you made before coming into embodiment. You can reconnect to it by increasing your awareness and using your intuitive faculties.
• As you expand your self-awareness, you realize how the material universe works, namely that it forms a kind of mirror that reflects back to you material conditions that correspond to your state of consciousness. If you think life is a struggle where everyone is out to get you, then that will be the material conditions mirrored back to you.
• You have free will and can create any circumstances you want. Yet you can never escape experiencing the circumstances you create.
• The only way to change your outer circumstances is to begin by changing the cause, namely your state of consciousness. You must begin by pulling the beam in your own eye, rather than focusing on the mote in the eyes of other people.
• Everything in your outer life is a reflection of what is happening in your psyche. You have unlimited potential for changing your psyche. If you don’t like your circumstances or don’t like yourself, you can change yourself by increasing your awareness and using appropriate techniques.
• When you change yourself, your outer circumstances WILL also change.

When you have this world view, your life never lacks purpose and you have ultimate respect for life as a unique opportunity to grow and to express your individuality in a way that lifts up both yourself and all life. In contrast, here is the world view with which a large number of young people have been brought up:

• You are a nobody, you are simply a highly evolved animal.
• There is no purpose or goal for your life beyond what you experience in the material universe.
• Your personal life has no specific goal, and thus you and your life really have no value.
• There is no greater purpose for human existence beyond living for a very limited number of years and then disappearing as if you had never existed.
• You have never lived before. You are simply the product of your genes and your society, including your parents. Circumstances over which you had no control made you who you are and there is nothing you can do about it.
• There is no deeper principles for how the material universe works, and there is certainly no connection between your state of consciousness and the outer circumstances you experience. You are simply a helpless victim of circumstances that are entirely beyond your control.
• You have free will and can do anything you want. If you do not get caught, you can get away with anything, for there is nothing beyond this material life. So you can essentially do whatever you want without experiencing the consequences of your actions.
• You cannot change your outer circumstances by changing yourself. Other people and society made you who you are, so they are to blame.
• Nothing in your outer life is a reflection of what is happening in your psyche. You have a very limited potential for changing your psyche. If you don’t like your circumstances or don’t like yourself, don’t try changing yourself—find someone to blame.
• You are stuck in a situation you didn’t create, so all you can do is protest against the people and society who forced you into it. However, these people don’t care about you – you are worthless – so killing yourself is the only escape and killing others is the only way to make a statement that will actually get people’s attention.

When you accept the first world view, you see that life has a general purpose and your personal life has a specific purpose—as have the lives of all other people. You see life as an opportunity for growth and thus you value life. You realize that you are ultimately responsible for your life and that you can change your life by changing yourself. Thus, you never feel stuck and never feel the need to lash out against others. Consequently, you never feel that violence is your only option or that suicide is your only way out.

When you accept the second world view – and know nothing else – you refuse to take responsibility for yourself. Thus, you inevitably feel stuck, and it is only when people are backed into a corner – when the flight response has been neutralized – that they resort to violence through the fight response. So the conclusion is simple. If America wants to avoid an escalation in this type of violence, it must find a way to give its young people – or should we say all people – a sense of purpose and a sense that they do have a way out.

Have I made the point clearly? There simply is NO WAY to avoid violence except to restore respect for the value of life. This cannot be done without giving people a sense of purpose and meaning. And this cannot be done without giving them a spiritual outlook on life. Take note that I am not hereby advocating that everyone would believe in a particular outer religion. I am talking about a universal world view that transcends and cannot be monopolized by any one church. It was this universal view that I truly taught 2,000 years ago. It was the same view the Buddha taught and that all true spiritual teachers have taught.

Which then gives rise to the obvious question of why such a world view is not the norm in American society, a question that can only be answered by considering who stand to benefit from the current conditions? Who is it that does NOT want people to take responsibility for themselves and realize that there is always a way out, that there is an alternative to the lifestyle they have been brought up to accept? Well, who can it be except those people who want to control the general population?

Thought 4

Behind everything that happens in society, there is always the power elite, and you will never truly understand history without looking at how an elite has attempted to control the general population. Every society has had a dominant elite and an aspiring elite, as Saint Germain recently explained. It was the dominant elite that killed me 2,000 years ago. Why did they do this? Because I taught a universal spiritual path that could make people independent of the dominant religion of my time. This path would take people beyond the control by the dominant elite, who were using the outer religion as the primary means for controlling the people.

When I started preaching that the kingdom of God is within you, the power elite decided that they had to silence me with any means necessary. My point being that the power elite never want people to discover the spiritual reality that can make them self-sufficient and thus take them beyond the control of any power on earth. And this is precisely what explains why people in western civilization are not being taught a universal, spiritual world view.

For centuries the dominant elite was the people who controlled the Catholic Church behind the scenes. Their control caused the Church to lose all spirituality and teach a world view that is grossly simplistic and almost mechanized. Which is why the Church – for over a thousand years – was one of the most effective mind-control machines ever seen on this planet. No objective person can claim that the medieval church attempted to follow my call to give people the truth that will make them free (John 8:32). Instead, it gave them a set of illusions that kept them imprisoned in a very small mental box and a very rigid outer society controlled by a small elite. No wonder they call it the dark ages.

As always happens, the dominant elite became blinded by their own mindset, they became a closed system, and their power started slipping. Because of the rigidity with which they attempted to defend their doctrines, people started seeing that the doctrines did not make sense. This gave an opening for a new – far more universal – world view, as promoted by the early scientists.

Yet as soon as science began to actually challenge the world view promoted by the Catholic Church, the aspiring elite quickly seized upon the opportunity and started controlling science as a means for taking power from the then dominant elite. This caused science to deviate from its original track, which was to provide a universal world view, free from the superstition and inconsistent doctrines of the Church—but not free from spirituality.

This, of course, was not what the aspiring power elite wanted, for it would make it impossible for them to control the population. So they gradually took science into the detour called scientific materialism, where science became the opposite polarity to the Catholic Church and all organized religion. Thus, the population was led into the illusion that they had to choose between one of these polarities, thereby cleverly obscuring the fact that there is an alternative, namely the universal, spiritual, world view I am talking about.

So western society is now caught in this dualistic battle between a religion devoid of universal spirituality (based on the dualistic illusion that there can be only one true church) and a science devoid of any spirituality (based on the dualistic illusion that there is nothing beyond the material universe).

One might think that the Church’s world view would be the lesser of two evils, since it contains the concepts of a God and punishment in an afterlife. Yet if that were true, how come the Middle Ages – during which the Catholic Church dominated people’s thinking – had so little respect for the value of life and maintained a system that made the general population the literal property of the noble class?

My point being that both world views are equally damaging in terms of placing responsibility for life and salvation away from the individual. Only when you personally take responsibility for your life in this world and for your ascendance into a higher world, can you have the ultimate respect for life and truly value the life of yourself and others. The Catholic Church obviously placed that responsibility on itself and its graven image of me and God, thereby effectively putting people in a situation where they could do nothing to free themselves and thus could be controlled by an elite.

Today, scientific materialism is doing the exact same thing, only from the opposite direction, from the opposite dualistic polarity. Materialism promotes the world view I described earlier, in which there seemingly is no higher authority and rules. This leads people into thinking that anything goes—if it feels good, do it, for nothing really matters and life has no value.

It might seem as if this permissive world view would go against the purpose of the elite—namely wanting to control the population. Yet in reality, the same goal can be accomplished. The old world view placed a punishing God, and its representative – the Church – as the obvious authority controlling the people. As long as the people believed in this authority and its world view, they were under control. This obviously restricted people’s behavior, but it also protected them – to some degree – from creating unpleasant consequences. However, people also felt the control as a burden and as a restriction of their freedom.

Thus, people’s inherent drive for freedom – which is truly a drive for true spiritual freedom – was used by the aspiring elite to create an alternative world view. When you remove the restraints of an external authority, people begin to do whatever they want. This inevitably creates consequences, as the cosmic mirror reflects back people’s state of mind. And as these consequences become increasingly severe, the aspiring elite can step in and present itself as the protectors of the people—offering to protect them from the consequences of their own actions by creating the illusion that if only people follow the elite, they will not have to change their lifestyle and world view.

The extreme example of a materialistic philosophy was communism, which created a tension between the communist block and the so-called free world. For decades this allowed the power elite to set itself up as the ones who were protecting the people in the West from communism—yet they had created communism and its opposite, capitalism. This caused the elite to run American foreign policy, and one consequence was to open the nation to the 9/11 event, which then became an excuse for limiting people’s civil liberties.

Likewise, the Columbine and now the Virginia Tech incidents are direct products of the materialistic world view. Yet they will likely be used to manipulate the American people into giving up more of their freedom. After all, we need the elite to protect us against the consequences of the world view created by the elite, right? For if only we give up a few freedoms, we can continue to live the lifestyle to which we have become addicted, namely that we do whatever feels good without worrying about the consequences—without taking responsibility for our personal lives and our society.

This illusion – this eternal ping-pong game between two dualistic opposites – will be maintained until the people wise up and decide that they want more than a comfortable materialistic life, they want true spirituality, they want real answers to the questions of life, they want the Living Word instead of dead doctrines and barren philosophies. Yet for this to happen, people must decide that they are willing to change themselves, to change their consciousness, to pull the beam from their own eyes.

As long as people refuse to take full responsibility for their lives and salvation, there will always be a power elite who is controlling them. After all, as long as you are refusing to take full responsibility for yourself, you are actually saying that you want someone else to make decisions for you. And as Maitreya explains in his book, no true spiritual teacher will do this for you. Yet the false teachers will gladly do this, and they do so because they want something from you—they want power, they want your spiritual light.

Thought 5

What would be the best possible outcome of the Virginia Tech shooting? It would be that a critical mass of Americans would realize that incidents such as this one are what the cosmic mirror reflects back as a result of the current American lifestyle and world view. Thus, this world view is bankrupt and a fundamental – not a fundamentalist – change is needed.

If anyone is willing to look for a higher world view – a view that can take them beyond the dualistic power-struggle – there are already many teachings on this website and more will be added. Yet for those who really want to understand the basic dynamic and how to defeat the power elite, I recommend Maitreya’s book LINK as the best introduction currently available.

The Virginia Tech shooting is simply one consequence of an anti-spiritual world view. More will follow—unless Americans wake up and realize there is a middle way – a strait and narrow way – between the two dualistic extremes of organized religion and materialistic science. Why am I talking about a universal spirituality? Because the more universal spirituality is, the more difficult it is for the power elite to use it to control the people. I did not come to start the organized Christian churches you see today. I came to start a universal spiritual movement, designed to set people free from any outside control by helping them find the kingdom of God within themselves—thus attaining the only true form of independence, namely spiritual self-sufficiency.

In an incident as extreme as this one, it needs to be considered that the person who is identified as the shooter was not actually the being who committed this act. The shooter had indeed become so influenced by the anti-spiritual world view that he was vulnerable to certain forces, which we might call non-material forces. These forces are beings who have been cut off from receiving any light directly from the spiritual realm, from their higher selves. Thus, they can survive only by stealing light from people.

Yet these beings cannot absorb light of a very high vibration, so they must get people to misqualify the light, to lower its vibration through negative feelings, such as fear and anger. My point being that after the Virginia Tech shooter had become a closed system, he became vulnerable to certain dark beings who started projecting thoughts of victimization, anger and hatred into his mind and emotional body. Precisely because he cut himself off from meaningful interaction with other people, the shooter gradually became completely controlled by these forces.

I am aware that people who have been brought up with the materialistic world view described above will be prone to reject the existence of such forces. Yet what you do not know can indeed hurt you, and ignorance of such forces only makes you more vulnerable to them. In fact, all self-destructive behavior – from over-eating to drug addiction to violence – is caused by people becoming controlled by such non-material forces.

So when the shooter had lost his connection to reality, his mind was so taken over by these beings that they literally were able to use his body and outer mind at will. Thus, it was actually the being that controlled him who performed the shooting. I am not thereby saying that the shooter had no responsibility, for he was indeed responsible for allowing these forces entry into his mind and energy field. Yet I am simply pointing out that you were not dealing with an act of insanity. You were dealing with a highly calculated act, designed to produce enormous amounts of negative energy that the non-material forces can use for their sustenance.

This is truly what is behind all serial killings, rapes or other violent crimes. Insane people do not generally hurt other people but only themselves. Thus, when you see deliberate acts of repeated violence, you know non-material forces are at play. Incidentally, this also makes it very difficult to predict such acts. Even though the shooter had displayed certain warning signs, no current psychologist or psychiatrist is educated to take into consideration the influence of demonic forces.

So unless a psychologist had actually seen the shooter while he was taken over by these forces, there would have been no scientific basis for declaring the shooter a danger to society. Do you see my point? As long as the science of psychology does not take into account the existence of non-material forces, how can it possibly predict what actions people might commit while taken over by such forces? The denial of a non-material cause not only blocks an accurate diagnosis, it also block any real solution.

Could the situation have been avoided? Certainly, but not by the current mental health care system. It would take a spiritual world view to detect that the shooter had become open to non-material forces and a spiritual treatment plan to help him overcome that vulnerability. I can assure you that in the not-too-distant future, such a spiritual world view will indeed become the norm in western society, and thus such incidents will become extremely rare.

Question: What can be done to stop the beheading of captured persons in Iraq?

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

For you as an individual, the best thing you can do is to authorize the ascended masters to bind the demons and other dark forces that work through the terrorists who perform these beheadings and other atrocities. You must realize that there is no human being who can become so depraved that he will perform such acts of his own accord. A person can perform such acts only when he or she is completely possessed by demons and dark forces and therefore has lost all control over his or her heart and mind. You simply cannot kill another human being if you are connected to your heart flame and if your intuitive faculties are working.

So the best thing you can do in the short term is to give Archangel Michael’s Rosary and the decree to Astrea and make specific calls to stop these situations. Study the situations, including the terrorists. Write a personal call and name the names of all the terrorist you know. Also name the captured people and call for their protection and release. Then give this call in the beginning of the rosary. You can also use the Rosary of Infinite Light as well as all of Mother Mary’s world invocations, and also give the Peace Rosary, the Forgiveness Rosary and the Unconditional Love Rosary.

In the long run, it is up to the governments of the nations that have troops in Iraq, but especially the United States’ government, to change the equation, so that they stop creating a force that leads to the emergence of a counter force in the form of terrorism. I have explained this in greater detail elsewhere.

Anyone can make the call for the enlightenment of the decision makers in these countries, again using the invocations and decrees. If you are a citizen of one of these countries, you can also exercise your right to tell your elected officials what you think they should do to change the equation in Iraq. This might include taking more direct action, as you are directed from within.

Certainly, a peaceful protest movement is highly necessary to bring certain governments to their senses and signal that they cannot use terrorism as an excuse for compromising democratic principles. It is also necessary to let these governments know that no matter how real the threat of terrorism is – or is made to seem – they cannot use it to dodge accountability toward their own people.

Question from Kim: Jesus, given that many nations are marking the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp, I would like to ask you some questions that I feel I have never had fully resolved. As you know, I grew up in Denmark and from an early age I heard about the Nazi occupation and the holocaust. In fact, the concept of concentration camps seemed very real to me from an early age. Yet I still was not prepared for the shock I received at the age of 13.

It happened on a bright and sunny spring day, when the birds were singing and the trees had fresh green leaves. All of the older students were called to the school’s movie theater, which usually meant we were to watch some kind of educational movie. Yet this time it was a documentary about Auschwitz, and it did not hide anything. We saw the people who looked like living skeletons, piles of hair and teeth, piles of dead bodies bulldozed into mass graves, gas chambers and crematorium ovens, where the door swung open and exposed half-burned corpses grinning at you. After the movie we were let out with no commentary or discussion. I still remember walking out into the bright sunshine, listening to the birds and being in shock that the beauty of a spring day and the horrors I had seen on that film could coexist on the same planet.

Although I have processed this experience for 35 years, trying to understand how something like that could happen, I still cannot understand how such beauty and horror can coexist in human beings. What baffles me the most is that human beings can do such things to other human beings. I mean, it is easy to reason that the Nazi leaders, such as Hitler or Himmler, were either insane or lifestreams who had rebelled for so many lifetimes that they had lost all humanity. Yet what about the many German soldiers who pushed people into the gas chambers and turned on the gas? They could not fail to know what they were doing, yet they did it anyway. Without such people to carry out their orders, the Nazi leaders would have gotten nowhere, so what is it that causes people to follow orders blindly? I feel that unless we understand this, we cannot prevent such atrocities from happening again, so please help me understand.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Let me first comment on your experience. There is no doubt that exposing children to such a movie without helping them process and understand it is an example of shock treatment that can easily be labeled cruel. Yet the reality was that even though your experience took place 25 years after the end of the war, the Danish nation had not processed the trauma of the second world war and thus had not healed the wound in the collective psyche. The educators, who decided to show that movie in the public schools, felt they simply could not ignore the Holocaust. Yet they could not help children understand what they themselves did not understand. I am not saying this justifies their actions, I am only saying it should make it easier for you to understand, forgive and move on—which is your personal responsibility.

Obviously, such unhealed wounds is a phenomenon seen in all of the nations involved with World War II, and the nation with the deepest wound is Germany itself. I can assure you that I would love to see the German people heal this wound and move on without it. Yet the wound is so deep that this would be a Herculean task. As and ideal scenario, let us imagine that Germany decided to engage in a national debate that exposed everything about the holocaust and at the same time, millions of Germans decided to use Mother Mary’s invocations  to consume the karmic records and the vortexes of misqualified energy. If this was done, it would still take years for the German people to heal the wound in the national psyche.

Yet if this did happen, it would lift such a heavy burden from the German people that they would literally feel reborn, and they could then begin to express their unique beauty and talents that are held back by the wound in the national psyche. It would also lift a burden from the other European peoples who are still – 60 years after the end of the war – looking at Germans with imperfect feelings. Thus, Europe as a whole would become a much lighter place if the wound left by the war was truly healed. I can assure you that the ascended masters want nothing more but to see such wounds healed.

Now for the question of how human beings can do such inhumane things to each other. One way to explain this is to take my statement, “Do unto others what you would have them do unto you.” Every single one of my statements is a two-edged sword of truth, with one edge pointing toward yourself. So if you turn around my statement, you could say that before you can do something to others, you must first have done it to yourself—in your own mind.

Take for example a German soldier who herds a child into the gas chamber. The simple fact is that no one could do this to a human being. So the only explanation is that the soldier did not look upon the child as a human being. How could this be? The soldier had been programmed by a philosophy that defined Jews as not being fully human; in other words, Jews had been dehumanized and turned into non-humans. I know this is completely irrational, yet if someone hasn’t realized that the human psyche is capable of irrationality, then that person has some serious studying to do.

My point is that before you can dehumanize another person, you must first have dehumanized yourself. I realize this will sound contradictory, given that the Germans were programmed to believe they belonged to the superior race and were better than all others. Nevertheless, this belief in German superiority is not actually in conflict with the dehumanization of the Jews; it is simply the other side of the same coin.

You see, the very idea that the human race can be divided into separate categories and that some are better than others springs from the dualistic mind. This duality is based on the fact that the lifestream has separated itself from God and therefore no longer sees itself as a son or daughter of God. The lifestream has now lost its own sense that it is a spiritual being who sprang from the one God, and thus it cannot see that other “human” beings came from the same source. This sense of separation is the source of all – and I mean ALL – human atrocities and conflicts.

When you lose the sense of oneness with your source, one might say that you have dehumanized yourself. Yet it would be more correct to say that you have despiritualized yourself. And in so doing, you despiritualize everyone else, because you cannot bear the thought that they are something you are not. And when you have gone through this process, you inevitably become vulnerable to believing in a philosophy that defines one group of people as superhuman and one group as subhuman. Yet defining yourself as superhuman is still a despiritualization of yourself.

My point is that the German soldier had despiritualized himself, and this made it possible for him to despiritualize even a child. The soldier’s despiritualization of himself had opened him to accepting the belief that the human race can be divided into categories and that those categories can be assigned value based on a relative scale defined by certain people. In this case, the scale was defined by the Nazi leadership, but over the cause of history many other nations and leaders have defined other relative scales and used them as a justification for numerous atrocities.

In this particular case, the Nazi leaders had defined the Germans as superhuman and the Jews as non-human. So once the solider had bought into this philosophy, he could push the child into the gas chamber without feeling the remorse that any normal person would feel for killing another human being. He literally did not believe he was killing a human being.

Kim: Okay, I can understand about despiritualization, but I still don’t understand how a person can buy into such a philosophy. It seems almost inconceivable to me that a person can accept a philosophy that dehumanizes certain people and then blindly carry out orders without thinking at all about what he is doing. How can someone become so insensitive? Or am I just being a hypocrite who cannot see the beam in my own eye?

Jesus: Well, yes and no. In another discourse, I talk about the levels of spiritual development, and when you reach a certain level of spiritual maturity, when you reach a certain level of Christhood, it does become inconceivable to you that a person could blindly carry out orders to kill other people.

Yet the deciding factor here is really how attached you are to your physical life. Look at the situation of a person who was drafted into the German army. He knew full well that if he refused to carry out orders, he would be shot as a deserter or traitor. So the only way he could refuse to push people into the gas chambers was by being willing to be killed.

When a lifestream reaches a certain level of Christhood, it becomes aware that the lifestream lives beyond the body, and therefore the long-term survival of the lifestream is more important than the short-term survival of the body. This will make a lifestream willing to lose its physical life in order to take a stand for principles and thereby advance its spiritual development. Yet when a lifestream is still below that level of Christhood, it simply isn’t capable of reasoning this way, and thus its survival instinct is entirely focused on the body. We might say that there is a higher – spiritual – survival instinct and a lower – dualistic – survival instinct. This is what I described in my statement:

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. (Matthew 16:25)

If you seek to save the life of the body at the cost of compromising God’s law, you will eventually lose the life of your lifestream. Yet if you are willing to take a stand for the truth of Christ – even if your body is killed for it – you will win the immortal life of your lifestream.

My point being that the majority of humankind are still below the critical level of maturity, which means that they could all be manipulated into doing what the German soldiers did at Auschwitz. So if you are willing to die in order to defend the right of others to live, then you are not a hypocrite by finding it inconceivable what the soldiers did. It truly is inconceivable to you, but only because you value the spiritual life of the lifestream more than the physical life of the body. And thus you would have been willing to die rather than carry out your orders—and I can assure you that you would have died.

If you are not willing to die to defend the lives of others and at the same time you judge the German soldiers, thinking you could never have done what they did, then you are taking a hypocritical stand. Because if you had been put in a similar situation – being forced to make the choice between dying or following orders – you would have done what the German soldiers did—followed orders without asking questions.

Kim: That’s a pretty radical statement that I think will be offensive to many of the people who experienced the war. I mean, I didn’t experience it, but I was still brought up with the belief that Nazism was a unique form of evil that could only have happened in Germany.

Jesus: Yes, and that is a very dangerous belief, which actually increases the danger that similar atrocities could happen again elsewhere. The simple fact is that evil thrives in the shadows and it only grows in the dark, meaning when it is not recognized. And thus the people who condemn the Germans as being solely responsible for the Holocaust are actually helping to set the stage for the next atrocity.

What I said above was that the real problem here is the despiritualization of human beings. This is what makes it so easy for people to judge one another and to divide the human race into groups, of which some are good and some are bad. So the only way to prevent genocide is to re-spiritualize the human race by promoting the truth that all human beings are sons and daughters of the same God. By demonizing the Germans and making them solely responsible for the Holocaust, you obscure the real cause of the Holocaust, namely a psychological mechanism that is present in the majority of human beings.

You see, the war and the Holocaust were not solely the responsibility of the German people. It was a manifestation of the warring in the collective consciousness of humankind. Thus, the true cause of the war was the warring in the collective psyche, and the people of most nations had contributed to those vortexes of negative energy. The German people played a role in this man-made drama. And it is true that there were – and still are – certain characteristics in the German national psyche that made them more vulnerable to the philosophy of Nazism than some other nations. And that is why Nazism did arise in Germany. Yet Nazism – or a similar totalitarian force – would have arisen anyway, and it could have happened in several other nations. It would have taken a bit longer to take hold, but it would have happened because the forces in the collective unconscious, as Carl Jung put it, would inevitably have surfaced in the material realm.

Kim: Okay, I know that will be a tough pill to swallow for many people, and I assume only those with a certain level of Christhood will be able to accept it?

Jesus: That is correct. Those with an insufficient inner maturity, will refuse to look for the beam in their own eye and will continue to focus on someone else, making them the scapegoat that gives them an excuse for not changing themselves.

Kim: So are you saying that the world has made the German’s into scapegoats, and thereby many people have been able to actually ignore the true cause of the Holocaust, using it as an excuse for not changing themselves?

Jesus: That is exactly what I am saying. The Holocaust was a giant shock to humankind, and from a spiritual perspective it was a unique wake-up call. It was the manifestation of forces in the collective psyche, and it should have awakened people to the need to change that psyche by changing themselves. All nations should have looked for the beam in their own eye.

Unfortunately, most nations looked only at the mote in the eyes of the Germans, and thus they missed the opportunity to truly eradicate the psychological forces that caused the Holocaust. Thus, these forces are alive and well, and that is why you have seen several examples of genocide since the Holocaust—and unfortunately you could still see a genocide far worse than the Holocaust.

Kim: Let me return to the German solider. Many people believe that the soldiers responded the way they did because they had grown up in prewar Germany and had been brainwashed by Hitler. You seem to be saying that the cause is found much farther back, and it started before that particular lifetime?

Jesus: That is correct. The real cause was the despiritualization of the lifestream, which started when that particular lifestream fell into the consciousness of duality and lost its connection to its source. As I explain in the discourse on the levels of spiritual development, after a lifestream falls, it can enter a downward spiral or an upward spiral. If it goes downward, it can descend into deeper and deeper levels of selfishness, which makes it increasingly insensitive to other forms of life.

That is why you see a variety of reactions among the German soldiers in the death camps. Some bought the Nazi philosophy hook, line and sinker and would do anything without giving it a second thought. Others were simply forced into the army and were usually assigned to tasks that didn’t require total insensitivity. In other words, the Nazi leaders had some insight into the lower levels of human psychology and deliberately selected the most insensitive people for the most cruel tasks. That is why you see some SS soldiers who became literal monsters when they were given absolute power over the lives of others. Yet every nation on earth has a certain part of its population who could respond in a similar manner if put in a similar situation. Why do you think the American soldiers in the Abu Grahib prison did what they did?

Kim: So help me understand what makes a lifestream so insensitive, especially what makes a lifestream able to shift between a seemingly normal life and incredible cruelty. I mean some of the German soldiers would gas Jews all day and then sit down and enjoy a classical music concert or a Shakespearian play at night. I just watched a documentary about Auschwitz, and I was struck by the fact that the commandant lived in a mansion with his wife and children. He was seemingly the perfect father to his own children at home, yet then he put on his SS uniform and planned the systematic extermination of hundreds of thousands of children—who from a spiritual perspective were no different from his own. How could there be such contrast within the same lifestream?

Jesus: As I have explained elsewhere, the soul vehicle can fragment or divide. This can create a vacuum in the soul that can be filled with a dark spirit. So some of the most cruel German soldiers were literally possessed by demons. The demons would take over when these people were carrying out their orders, and then the demons would become so drunk by the misqualified energy that they would leave the person alone for a while, allowing him to go back to a more normal personality.

Yet when a lifestream falls into the duality consciousness, there will be a certain split or division within the soul vehicle itself. This makes it possible that the person can develop multiple personalities, and the person can – often almost seamlessly – switch from one personality to another. Thus it becomes possible that a person can have a highly educated and cultured personality, as did the commandant of Auschwitz. And at the same time, the person has another personality that is completely insensitive to the kind of people that it believes are subhuman.

This is a universal pattern that you see all over the world, and it has brought about some of the worst human atrocities. The simple fact is that this “warring in the members” of the lifestream is the beam in your own eye, and until you pluck it out by putting on the mind of Christ, you will be part of the problem instead of part of the solution. You might also note that this multiple personality phenomenon is what prevents people from seeing that they are doing the same thing which they find abhorrent in others. Thus, people cannot see that they have the same psychological mechanism as the German soldiers and that they would have done the same thing if they had been in a similar situation.

Kim: That seems like an essential point, so can you give me an example of this from outside of Germany?

Jesus: Well, take the American Founding Fathers who were working on the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, yet some of them were slave owners. Thomas Jefferson would travel away from home and write the immortal words that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator with inalienable rights. Then he would go back to his farm, which based its existence on slave labor. How do you explain that unless the lifestream of Thomas Jefferson had a split that allowed him to play two incompatible roles without seeing the incompatibility?

Kim: So you are basically saying that until a critical mass of people resolve this warring in our members, the potential for genocide will remain?

Jesus: Correct. The only way to remove the danger of genocide is to re-spiritualize the human race, and the key to doing so is the Christ consciousness, which allows the lifestream to reconnect to its source and see itself as a son or daughter of God. This allows the lifestream to see that all other lifestreams came from the same source, and thus genocide becomes unthinkable. As I explain elsewhere, it really is up to the most spiritually advanced lifestreams to change the national and planetary consciousness by raising themselves to a higher level of Christ consciousness and thereby pulling other people up.

Kim: So you are saying that even in today’s world, there is a real potential for a new genocide? I feel that most western nations would immediately point the finger elsewhere and say it could never happen here, but is that really true?

Jesus: Well, if you consider that a western nation could exterminate six million Jews or other people, then you are probably right that it could not happen. But my point is that the very consciousness that caused the Holocaust has not been eradicated from any nation, and it has not been eradicated because people have not been willing to look at the true cause and then pull that beam from their own eyes. So the forces behind the despiritualization of human beings are very much at work in every nation, and therefore there is a real potential for a systematic violation of human rights. No nation is currently exempt from this.

Kim: Can you give me an example of how these forces are working in the United States?

Jesus: Where do you want me to start? The very fact that this country has a Constitution based on inalienable rights yet allowed slavery shows a split in the national psyche from the very beginning, a split that has not yet been fully healed. The fact that it took violence to stop slavery demonstrates this split and the nation’s propensity to see violence as a solution to problems.

Then take the end of World War II. In 1945 the American and British air forces carried out massive bombing raids of German cities that killed tens of thousands of women and children. There were no military or strategic targets; it was simply a systematic punishment of the German people, partly with the purpose of making sure Germany would never again rise to become a threat. Thus, this action rightly deserves to be called genocide, but very few people in America would accept that fact.

Sure, the bombing didn’t kill as many people as were killed in the concentration camps, but was the difference in kind or only in degree? Look at how this atrocity was covered over by the publicity around the Holocaust. The message was that because the Nazis were so bad, anything the allies did during the war was excusable or insignificant in comparison. Yet when you cover over atrocities by making others the scapegoats, you have only reinforced the despiritualization of the human race.

Now take the fact that since 1973 tens of millions of unborn babies have ben aborted in what some have called the silent Holocaust. Only a massive split in the national psyche could allow a democratic nation to become so insensitive to the unborn. And most other western nations have legalized abortion.

Then take today. You have a president who claims to be working to spread freedom, yet he has been willing to kill tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians in order to spread his version of freedom. At the same time he claims to have planted the flag of Liberty, yet true Liberty cannot exist without an uncompromising respect for human rights. And this very president has kept 600 prisoners in Guantanamo Bay for over two years without trial.

This kind of imprisonment without recourse was one of the major reasons the American revolutionaries rebelled against the English king. It was one of their major goals to create a nation where such imprisonment could never happen. Yet here it is, and where is the public outcry? You cannot claim to be a representative of Liberty when you have divided human beings into categories of which some have no inalienable rights defined by God but only those defined by your state.

Then there is the issue that a small power elite maintains a stranglehold on the U. S. economy, which keeps millions of Americans living below poverty level in what is claimed to be the richest nation on earth. In truth, no nation can claim to be rich as long as one of its citizens is living in poverty.

Finally, let me mention the fact that the American psyche is deeply split between two forces that both maintain the despiritualization of humanity, namely scientific materialism and orthodox Christianity.
Do you want me to continue?

Kim: No, I think you made the point that there is a beam in the eye of the American nation. Since you are bringing up the issue of Christianity, there has always been some talk about the Christian church not doing enough to speak out against the holocaust. What is your position on that.

Jesus: My position is that the orthodox Christian churches did something far more serious than not speaking out. In reality, mainstream Christianity was one of the major factors that set the stage for the Holocaust. Again, the true cause of the Holocaust is the despiritualization of human beings. The only way to reverse this is to reconnect lifestreams to their spiritual source, so they can see that all people are part of the One Body of God on earth. I came to give humankind a spiritual philosophy that would help them make this transition in consciousness, as exemplified in my call:

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy lifestream, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. (Luke 10:27)

You can love your neighbor as yourself only when you realize your neighbor is part of the greater self of which you too are a part. There is no other way to neighborly love.

Yet, as I explain throughout this website, my message of unconditional love was turned into an orthodox, fear-based religion. The greatest crime was that I was defined as the only son of God and all other humans were defined as being far below me. Not only did the Catholic Church define people as NOT being sons and daughters of God, it defined them as sinners by nature. These ideas are a clear reinforcement of the despiritualization of human beings, and they dominated the intellectual life of Europe for 1500 years before the Holocaust. Obviously, Protestant churches did virtually nothing to challenge these doctrines, and most modern Christian churches are endlessly parading these Satanic lies as Christian truths.

You can add to this the fact that many Christians looked at the Jews as the people who killed Christ—once again failing to see the beam in their own eyes. Yet the major problem with orthodox Christianity is truly the despiritualization of human beings by defining me as the only son of God and all other people as sinners, thus dividing the human race into two categories—me and everyone else.

On top of that, you have the philosophy of scientific materialism, which defines humans as being just more evolved animals and denies the existence of God or any spiritual aspect of human nature. Yet this very philosophy simply would not have gained ground had it not been for the fact that orthodox Christianity had already programmed the collective psyche with an anti-spiritual philosophy.

If you care to take a closer look, you will see that even the Nazis needed some justification for their actions. And they used a very peculiar and very irrational blend of Christian and scientific dogma to position themselves as superhuman and the Jews as subhuman.

So there is no doubt that both orthodox Christianity and scientific materialism carry part of the responsibility for the fact that the Holocaust took place and the fact that the collective psyche has not yet been healed. Thus, both sides are to this day serving to maintain the despiritualization that could precipitate the next Holocaust.

Kim: You are certainly not mincing words here!

Jesus: No, but do you think the topic of the Holocaust deserves to be treated gently, so as to avoid offending people’s egos?

Kim: I don’t, actually, I was just a bit surprised by your directness. With that in mind, let me bring up a question that I haven’t seen anyone ask: Did the Jews themselves contribute to the consciousness behind the Holocaust?

Jesus: And you are calling me direct? Well, if you want to make yourself the target of being accused of spreading anti-semitic propaganda, I am not the one to stop you. It is obvious that the Jews have a very old consciousness of seeing themselves as “God’s  chosen people.” And by now it should be obvious to those with a discerning mind, that this is very much what I have called the despiritualization that causes the division of the human race into categories of those who are superior and those who are inferior. So, yes the Jews have indeed contributed to this consciousness on a world-wide scale, although they are not in any way the only people to do so.

Yet what you need to recognize here is that there is indeed a very dark and satanic consciousness that is always seeking to create these power struggles, where one group of people feels justified in seeking to exterminate another group. You might see this as a consciousness that is constantly looking for both a perpetrator and a target. As I said, there were indeed certain characteristics in the national psyche of Germany that made Germany vulnerable to becoming the perpetrator. Yet, you also see such a mechanism in the national psyche of Russia, which led to Stalin’s genocide, and in China, which led to Mao’s genocide.

So it is indeed equally true that there are certain characteristics in the collective psyche of the Jews that made them the target. In fact, had the Jewish people heeded the changes I came to bring, they would have long ago transcended the “God’s chosen people” consciousness and thus would not have become the target for the Nazis or other perpetrators throughout history and in many nations. Those who become the target are those who have already made themselves a target in their own minds. Their own self-image literally magnetizes them to the situation.

And again, for those with discerning minds, it is obvious that the Jews have not transcended this consciousness. Why can’t the Jews forgive and move on? Because they are still making political hay from the Holocaust. They have managed to portray themselves as the victims of the worst atrocity in human history. Yet Stalin and Mao killed many more people, so where is the sense of proportion?

The brutal reality is that the Jews – who portray themselves as victims – do not want the world to forgive and move on from the Holocaust. They want to keep the memory and the wounds alive forever, so they can continue to manipulate other nations into treating them as “God’s chosen people.” If the world truly did heal and forgive, then the Jews could no longer claim this special treatment.

Kim: So what would you like to see the world do to heal the wounds of the Holocaust?

Jesus: I would like to see people recognize the true spiritual and psychological cause and make a sincere effort to remove the beams from their own eyes. I would like to see the world forgive the German people and I would like to see the German people accept God’s forgiveness. I would like to see the Jews recognize the beam in their own eyes and then forgive the German people, recognizing that it is meaningless to make one nation responsible for what is truly caused by the planetary psyche.

Kim: So you have no desire to punish the German people? I mean, many people seem to think that God wants to punish them?

Jesus: Absolutely not. I have no other desire – and I can assure you that God has no other desire – than to see all sons and daughters of God enter their Father’s kingdom and remain there forever. Yet to enter God’s kingdom – which as I explain on this website is a state of consciousness – you have to leave behind the dualistic, human state of consciousness. You have to leave behind all human sense of hurt and non-forgiveness. And you have to leave behind the sense that you are separated from God and from other people. Being in God’s kingdom truly means being one with God. There is no other way to enter the kingdom than through the sense of oneness.

So yes, I wish all people would learn the lessons they need to learn from the Holocaust, use it to remove the beam from their own eyes, and then simply move on and enter God’s kingdom.

Kim: Yet so many people will say that it is impossible to just move on and leave such an atrocity behind.

Jesus: Yes, but by maintaining this belief, they only work to uphold the despiritualization that WILL inevitably set the stage for the next Holocaust. Why do you think I told people to turn the other cheek? It was because only by doing so can you stop the spirals of violence and atrocities that have been going on for millennia on this planet. Someone has to take the first step and forgive everything that happened in the past. As Mother Mary explains, only total forgiveness can lead to total freedom. When you forgive, you are truly setting yourself free from the past.

So where do you want to go? Do you want to enter the kingdom of those who have reclaimed their spirituality by leaving behind their duality? Or do you want to remain in your current state of consciousness indefinitely? I can only point the way to the kingdom of God; I can’t make the choice for you.

Kim: One final question. It seems to me that most of the people who really understand what happened in the Holocaust are struck by the senselessness of so many innocent people dying and under such appalling conditions. It just seems so utterly meaningless. Do you have anything to say about that?

Jesus: I do. If you look at the war, you will see that in the first years, the German armed forced had an uncanny success; they were almost unstoppable. The reason for this was that Adolf Hitler and his closest associates, had despiritualized themselves to the point where they fell for one of the temptations of the devil, as described in this quote:

5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Luke, Chapter 4)

So, Hitler sold his soul to the devil to fulfill his dream of world domination. And the devil gave him a large amount of misqualified energy, which is what gave the German forces their military victories. However, God is not mocked, and God has designed this planet so that no single power can dominate it. Because of this, the devil might promise you the world, but he simply does not have the power to deliver on his promise.

One reason for this is that the law of cause and effect, the law of karma, mandates that when you kill others, you lose some of your power. And when you kill civilians, especially children, you incur a greater karma than by killing soldiers on the battlefield. So the reality is that for each person killed in the concentration camps, some of the dark energy, some of the momentum, behind the Nazis was taken away. And thus, from the moment the Nazis built the first death camp, they sealed their fate and opened the door to a much swifter defeat. I can assure you that had the Nazis not built the concentration camps, it would have taken longer for them to run out of dark energy, and thus the war would have lasted longer. As a result many more people would have been killed in regular fighting.

I know this is of little comfort to the survivors and their families, yet it is a fact that each person killed in the concentration camps saved the lives of at least two other people by diminishing the dark power behind the Nazis and their war machine. It was a situation not dissimilar to the many Christians who were executed by the Romans and who contributed to the downfall of the Roman empire. So in a way, you might say that their deaths weren’t senseless after all. They did serve a greater purpose, although a purpose that the ascended masters would rather have avoided.

Please understand that I am in no way trying to diminish the horrors of the Holocaust or the responsibility of the Germans. I am trying to point out that God never wants people to remain stuck in the past. He wants people to learn their lessons, meaning that they respiritualize themselves, and then move on. And truly, it is high time and past time that the world moves on and permanently leaves behind the consciousness that caused the Holocaust.

Question: Some years ago, when the school children in Dunblane, Scotland were brutally murdered, I heard someone say, “What did God do to prevent this?” and someone else replied, “God’s heart was the first to break.” Is that statement true? 

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

The statement that God’s heart was the first to break is simply not true. I know this can sound harsh, so let me explain. First of all, as I explain throughout this website, God has not created the suffering you see on earth. This suffering was created by human beings because they have misused their free will and have fallen into a dualistic state of consciousness. Because God respects his Law of Free Will, he has allowed this to happen. And although such atrocities are completely out of alignment with God’s will and God’s intention for this planet, God must simply wait until human beings make the choice to stop creating the conditions that lead to such suffering.

When you think about God in the highest sense, the Creator simply does not see the imperfect conditions on planet earth. As the Bible says, God is not mocked [Galatians 6:7] and his eyes cannot look on iniquity [Habakkuk 1:13]. However, the representatives of God, namely we who are the ascended masters, do indeed see all conditions that occur on planet earth.

Please try to understand that when you become an ascended masters, you leave behind the human ego and the dualistic mind. Therefore, you also leave behind the lower, dualistic and self-centered feelings that spring from these aspects of the lower mind. I am not hereby saying that ascended masters do not have feelings. What I am saying is that the feelings of ascended masters are different from the feelings of human beings. Therefore, the heart of an ascended masters simply cannot break. We could not feel the sense of irretrievable loss that human beings feel and which causes their heart to feel like it is breaking. This is because when you are an ascended master, you know that there really is no irretrievable loss.

You know that behind the outer appearances that happen on earth is the infinite reality of God. The things on earth seem real, but they are not ultimately real and they are not permanent. They are simply temporary manifestations that the collective consciousness of humankind has projected onto the screen of life. If you change the filmstrip in the projector (people’s minds), you will change the appearances on the screen.

I hope you can see that we of the ascended masters have the task of helping all human beings grow to a higher state of consciousness. The most important aspect of being a spiritual teacher is that you never, ever affirm an imperfect condition as real or permanent. So when we look upon a calamity that happens on earth, we realize that it is happening but we also affirm that it is not ultimately real and not permanent.

Therefore, our first and foremost concern is to help people leave behind the imperfect condition and move closer to God’s perfection, meaning the perfection of the Christ consciousness. We could never allow ourselves to feel sympathy for human beings, because sympathy simply magnifies the imperfect feelings. We do, however, feel empathy and compassion in the sense that we realize that people are going through suffering. However, we also realize that no matter how difficult conditions seem, people have the potential to rise above them.

Furthermore, we are constantly anchored in the unconditional love of God, and therefore we experience the living, breathing reality that the unconditional love of God has the potential to consume all imperfect conditions and all imperfect feelings on earth. We are constantly offering people that unconditional love. We are constantly seeking to serve as an open door, as a bridge over which the unconditional love can flow into the hearts and minds of human beings.

Therefore, I hope you can understand that we do not look at such atrocities the same way people look at them. This does not mean that we are insensitive or that we want such events to happen. It means that we have a higher form of sensitivity which allows us to always feel unconditional love. Therefore, we constantly seek to reach out to every person to help that person rise higher in consciousness.

So when an event happens, such as a terrorist attack, we of the ascended masters do not judge people the way human beings do. In other words, we are equally concerned about helping both the victims and the terrorists rise to a higher state of consciousness. Unfortunately, both sides in such an event will often reject our assistance.

The victims of a terrorist attack will often feel anger against God because they ask the question of how God could let this happen. They are not willing to even consider that they themselves could have co-created the conditions that caused the event to happen. Therefore, they are not able to open their hearts to the unconditional love and forgiveness that we are ready to pour into their minds at any time. As a result, people often get stuck in negative feelings that prevent them from moving on spiritually. If only they would open their minds and hearts, we would flood them with such unconditional love that they would immediately be able to forgive and move on.

You see, forgiveness is the key to spiritual freedom. As long as you are holding grudges against any form of life or against God, you simply cannot be free of the past and move on. You simply cannot move away from earth and enter the kingdom of heaven—in which there can be no non-forgiveness or other negative feelings. Only when you completely forgive yourself, other people and God will you be free to move higher in consciousness.

So by not forgiving, you are hurting yourself. This is what many people don’t understand, and that is why they cannot follow my command to forgive seventy times seven. Consider how I told people to love their enemies. I said that if you love those who love you, what is your reward? Anybody can do that. If you are sincere about walking the spiritual path, you must learn to love those who hate you and forgive those who harm you.

I fully understand that the families of victims feel deeply grieved by atrocities and the loss of their loved ones. Yet once an event has happened, no amount of grief and other negative feelings can turn back the clock. However, negative feelings will always hold back your spiritual growth. So if you really want spiritual growth, the most important thing for you is to leave the negative feelings behind and come up higher in consciousness.

Unfortunately, many victims of atrocities are not willing to come up higher; they want to remain in the negative feelings of anger, blame, sorrow or self pity. Obviously, this is their choice but as ascended masters we cannot allow ourselves to feel sympathy for people making that choice. We can feel compassion and we can feel understanding for the fact that it is difficult for many people to let go. Nevertheless, how easy is it to feel compassion for a person who clings to a penny when there is someone standing next to him offering him a million dollars for the taking? How easy is it for us to feel compassion for those to hold on to a penny’s worth of human sorrow when we are ready to offer them a million dollars of God’s unconditional love and forgiveness?

Of course, the terrorists themselves also find it difficult to accept forgiveness and move higher. They are often so concerned about maintaining the illusion that the terrorist acts were right and justified in the eyes of God that they cannot even accept that they need forgiveness. And if you cannot ask for forgiveness, how could you possibly accept that forgiveness? The unfortunate effect of this unwillingness on both sides of a conflict to accept God’s unconditional forgiveness is that the two sides create a karmic spiral with each other. That can continue for generations and centuries. In fact, the terrorist act in Madrid was very much the result of a karmic spiral created between Muslims and the Spanish people as a result of the Muslim occupation of Spain and the Crusades.

We of the ascended masters would love nothing more than to see such karmic spirals be dissolved and consumed by the unconditional love of God. Yet for that to happen, a critical mass of people on both sides of a karmic spiral must accept God’s unconditional love and allow it to flow through their hearts to consume the ancient records and negative feelings.

God’s unconditional love rains upon the just and unjust. If you can fully accept God’s forgiveness right now for any mistake you have ever made, then you will be instantly forgiven. There would still be an amount of misqualified energy, or karma, that needed to be consumed. Yet the forgiveness itself would be as instantaneous as your own acceptance of that forgiveness. This is the fact that most people find it impossible to accept and that is why they keep making more karma instead of leaving all human imperfections behind them.

Question: I have a question for Saint Germain. Various groups of people have built nuclear fallout shelters. Is it still necessary to hang on to those shelters?

Answer from ascended master Saint Germain through Kim Michaels:

No, this is a cycle that has passed, and what we need the spiritual people to do today is to lock in to the vision of the Golden Age as a reality that is already manifest.

Surely, in the Golden Age you would not expect to have a hole in the ground, where you can crawl down because of some outbreak of war that is clearly NOT in accordance with a Golden Age vision and matrix. So it is indeed advantageous for people to simply let this go and say it served its purpose for a time.

It is perfectly acceptable to put training wheels on a bicycle when a child is learning to hold the balance. But if the child keeps the training wheels into adult age, well then you have to consider that something has not quite clicked in the mind of that person. And so do not look back at the past with regret. What you did was necessary for many reasons, including the entire learning process that is possible as a result of this experience.

It would therefore be very dear to my heart if the people who were involved in such an experience would openly talk about it and process the entire experience, so that they could learn the lessons that they need to learn—the deeper lessons that can be learned and that can help people grow on the spiritual path, lessons that are far beyond the actual outer events.

For as I have said, we always look to the ongoingness of everything. And those who are our students—we are always holding the vision that they will move on, leave the past cycles behind and rise to an entirely new level of consciousness where you have no regrets, no resentment, no attachments to the past. You realize that this was a cycle that you had to go through in order to rise higher in consciousness. And you are perfectly content to have gone through that cycle, having learned those lessons, and therefore now being in a much higher place than you would have been had you not been willing to go through that experience.

This of course applies to many other aspects of life, where you go through difficult situations that you might have preferred to have avoided. But nevertheless, seen from a larger perspective, they taught you something that you could not have learned otherwise, or could not have learned as quickly.

Question from Kim: Jesus, today a former Presbyritarian minister, Paul Hill, is scheduled to be executed for killing an abortion doctor and his escort. In an interview, he said, “The sooner I am executed … the sooner I am going to heaven, I expect a great reward in heaven. I am looking forward to glory. I don’t feel remorse.” I would like to hear your comments on this.

Answer from ascended master Jesus through Kim Michaels:

Let me begin by making it absolutely clear that this person’s reasoning is fundamentally flawed and completely out of touch with God’s will. As I stated in my comments on the war with Iraq,  there is absolutely no cause – and I truly mean no cause – which in the eyes of God justifies the killing of a human being.

The essence of this matter is that God himself made the choice to give human beings free will. God defined this in a divine law, which I refer to as the Law of Free Will. As I have stated elsewhere on this website, the Law of Free Will does not stand alone. It was created in a polarity with the Law of Cause and Effect. So the essence of life is that human beings have to learn by making choices and reaping the consequences of those choices. God allows people to commit acts that violate his laws, because he knows that people will eventually reap the consequences and thereby have an opportunity to learn.

What I am trying to explain is that the essence of life on earth is that people have been given an opportunity to learn by making choices. God allows people to make choices that violate his laws. Therefore, killing someone in an attempt to prevent them from violating God’s law is in itself a violation of God’s intent and the Law of Free Will. In other words, the belief that the end can justify the means or the saying, “Let us do evil that good may come,” never originated with God or with the ascended masters.

The idea that it is acceptable to violate someone’s free will in order to prevent them from committing evil originated with the forces who temporarily oppose God’s purpose for creation. These beings attempt to force people to be saved, whereas God wants people to be saved through their own choices. In other words, if you truly understand God’s purpose and respect God’s law, you clearly see that it is not justified to kill a human being, even if it seemingly prevents a greater evil. (Let me say that this needs to be understood in the context of self-defense, as discussed in the remarks about the Iraq war.)

The reason it is wrong to kill a human being is that it takes away the lifestream’s opportunity to learn and thereby work out its salvation. Because the opportunity to learn is the very purpose of life on earth, there is no greater violation of God’s laws than destroying this opportunity. Killing is not the only way to destroy a lifestream’s opportunity for growth, but it is certainly one way.

Kim: So, you are saying that God will not reward this man for his actions?

Jesus: Correct. One of the fundamental lessons that people should learn from the Bible (or any other religious scripture) is that “God is no respecter of persons.” In other words, God’s law is not influenced by human opinions. Regardless of what this person, or humanity as a whole, believes, God is not mocked and his law will not change one iota.

This man has violated God’s law by killing another human being, and he will inevitably reap the consequences.

Kim: So you are saying that he will not go to heaven as he thinks?

Jesus: Correct. According to the Law of Cause and Effect, he will have to pay back his debt to life. Therefore, he will have to come back into embodiment and compensate the people he killed by helping them make up for the opportunity that he aborted by killing them. In that respect, see my other comments on reincarnation.

So what will happen to this lifestream after the death of his physical body?

Contrary to popular Christian belief, there is no instant salvation or eternal damnation after death. Instead, there is a continued opportunity for the lifestream to learn and grow.

If people are interested in more detailed descriptions of what happens to lifestreams after death, they should study some of the many near-death experiences that are readily available. I would like to make it clear that these near-death experiences are part of God’s plan for expanding people’s understanding of life. These experiences are also an attempt to help people overcome their fear of death.

The essence of the many near-death experiences is that when the physical body dies, the lifestream separates itself from the body and moves into another realm. As explained throughout this website, the scientific fact that everything is made of energy opens the possibility that there could be many realms, many levels of vibration, beyond the material universe. In fact, there are a number of realms, octaves or stations to which lifestreams can be taken after death. What determines where a lifestream will go is the lifestream’s state of consciousness before death.

In the case of Paul Hill, we have a lifestream who has clearly violated one of the fundamental laws of God. At the same time, this lifestream obviously feels no remorse for its actions. Again, contrary to popular Christian belief, God has no desire to punish human beings. The purpose of life is the growth of the lifestream. So when a lifestream leaves the physical body behind, it will be taken to a station where that particular lifestream will be presented with the best possible opportunity to learn. The lifestream must learn the lessons it needed to learn in its last lifetime and therefore, hopefully, make choices that will allow the lifestream to move on in its growth process.

What I am saying is that the purpose of anything that happens after death is to educate the lifestream. Punishment simply isn’t part of the picture, contrary to what so many human beings want to believe. Once again, God’s law is not altered by human opinions.

Each lifestream has a number of spiritual teachers assigned to it. The role of these teachers is to help the lifestream grow and move to a higher level. In this particular case, the teachers of Paul Hill’s lifestream are faced with a difficult situation. This lifestream is absolutely convinced that it has committed an act of martyrdom and that it will be rewarded in heaven. As I have stated, this is an illusion. Therefore, the lifestream cannot move on until it lets go of this illusion, and this must happen through the free-will choosing of the lifestream.

The problem in cases like this is how to make a lifestream realize that it has violated God’s law without at the same time shattering the lifestream’s sense of self-worth and plunging that lifestream into a state of guilt, hopelessness and despair. This can be a very delicate balance that presents difficult challenges for a lifestream’s spiritual teachers. (In that respect, let me say that this dilemma also applies to lifestreams who have performed or chosen to have abortions. For example, the lifestream of an abortion doctor faces a very difficult situation of having to come to terms with the fact that it aborted the opportunity for thousands of lifestreams.)

One of the tools that is commonly employed in an attempt to make a lifestream see its wrongdoings is what some near-death experiences describe as a life review. Some lifestreams simply view this in a detached manner, as if the events are happening on a movie screen. Other lifestreams view this in a more involved manner in which they experience every situation. However, instead of experiencing the situation from their own perspective, they now experience the situation from the perspective of the people they harmed. During such a review, people experience firsthand how people they harmed felt in that situation. For some lifestreams this can be an efficient way to awaken them to the true consequences of their actions.

In some cases, this rude awakening can be too much for the lifestream, and it causes the lifestream to withdraw into a state of shock from which it can take a long time to recover. Therefore, contrary to what some people believe, there is no standard way that the lifestream is treated after death. This is an individual matter that is decided on a case-by-case basis by the spiritual teachers of particular lifestreams.

In this particular case, the lifestream will indeed go through the life review of experiencing this situation from the receiving end of its actions. Hopefully, this will achieve the result of helping this lifestream see the wrong of its actions without destroying the sense of self-worth. However, because the outcome of this procedure is ultimately up to the free will of the lifestream, even I cannot predict the outcome.

Kim: Paul Hill stated that “More people should act as I have acted.” What would you say to people who might be influenced by this statement or by his example?

Jesus: I would ask them what they think about the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. I am sure that most of these people would denounce the attacks.

Then I would ask them to consider that the people who performed these attacks believed they were fighting for a just cause and that they would be rewarded in heaven for their actions.

In other words, the mindset of the terrorists is exactly the same as the mindset of Paul Hill and all other extremists, regardless of what cause they are fighting for. The only difference is that whereas the 911 terrorists invoked Allah, Paul Hill used me to justify his actions.

The simple fact is that Allah does not support extremism and fanaticism any more than I and my Father in heaven. I can say this for a fact, because the God who inspired Islam is the same God who inspired Judaism, Christianity and every other true religion found on planet earth.

As I said 2,000 years ago, there is a way that seems right unto a man but the end thereof is the way of death. The way that seems right unto a man is the way of extremism, which quickly leads to fanaticism. Extremism is always based on the relativity of the dualistic mind. The true way is the middle way whereby a person reaches for the higher perspective, the balanced perspective, of the Christ mind.

There is a fundamental and fundamentally important difference between religious fervor or zeal and extremism or fanaticism. I admit that it can sometimes be difficult for a deeply religious person to avoid extremism. However, extremism is always caused by an imbalance in the lifestream, and before the lifestream can truly come home to God, it must resolve all such imbalances. This can more easily be done when the lifestream recognizes the dangers of extremism and embraces the middle way that leads to Christ consciousness.

Question from Kim: Jesus, is the war with Iraq a just war as the American government and even some high-profile Christian minsters claim?

There has never been a war on this planet that was not a just war. That is, if you define just by a human standard. All of the people who started a war felt that their war was justified. Many of them even felt that their war was justified by some form of divine authority. However, I must tell you that it was a “divine authority” defined by human beings.

One of the central messages on this website is that human beings have fallen into a lower state of consciousness, what I call the dualistic mind, which is dominated by relativity and conditionality. When people are caught in this state of consciousness, all of their viewpoints are relative and therefore they can justify absolutely anything.

People will often attempt to use a higher authority, even a divine authority, to justify their beliefs. Another common occurrence is that people will define someone as the enemy or scapegoat. By portraying the enemy as being evil, even as belonging to an “Axis of Evil,” it suddenly seems justified that people violate the laws of God to combat evil.

I have stated elsewhere on this website that no evil act was ever committed on planet earth. Seemingly evil acts were always committed out of ignorance. This ignorance is always caused by the fact that people are caught in the relativity of the dualistic mind and therefore have no absolute standard for evaluating their actions.

If you look at the rhetoric surrounding the war with Iraq, especially the rhetoric that comes from the American government, you will see that the decision makers in this government actually believe that this is a just war. It even seems that the president himself, and some of his close advisers, feel that they have some kind of divine authority for this war. Even some Christian ministers in the United States have declared their support for the war and their belief that this is a just war in the eyes of God.

If you are willing to reach beyond the relativity of the dualistic mind, the real question should be, “Is the war with Iraq a just war seen with God’s eyes?” The answer to that question is a clear no. When you see things with God’s eyes, there has never been a just war on this planet. When you see things with God’s eyes, the killing of other human beings is never justified. When you see things with God’s eyes, you clearly realize that the ends cannot justify the means and that no representative of God ever spoke the words, “Let us do evil that good may come.”

I know these statements will seem shocking to both Jews, Christians and Muslims who believe that the Old Testament is the infallible word of God. After all, the Old Testament contains several examples of wars that were supposedly fought with God’s help and with God’s authority. My comment on the Old Testament wars is that there are several possible explanations why it seems like the Old Testament has God justifying the act of war:

• Not every part of the Old Testament is the infallible word of God. Some parts have been influenced by the relative interests and beliefs of human beings who attempted to claim divine authority for their own self-interest. I have explained this in greater detail elsewhere.
• The God that supposedly authorized the Old Testament wars is not the God that I recognize as my Father in heaven. My God is a God of unconditional love. Do you seriously believe that a God of love would ever authorize war? If you believe that, then I must tell you frankly that you are caught in a relative state of consciousness and you need to make a sincere effort to reach beyond that state of consciousness.
• The people who claimed that their wars were justified by God made incorrect claims. They either made these claims in good faith because they were misled (by the relativity of the dualistic mind and by dark forces) into thinking that God had justified their war. Or they made these claims deliberately in an attempt to mislead the people into fighting their wars of relative self interest.
• The war fits in the category of unavoidable wars that I will describe in the following sections.

Let me make it very clear that God does not authorize war. God never has authorized a war on planet earth and God will never do so. His eyes cannot behold the iniquity of the relative state of consciousness that causes people to engage in wars. Therefore, God will never take sides in a relative conflict, and there is no other type of conflict on this planet.

There is no such thing as a holy war. A person who claims to be fighting a holy war has demonstrated that he does not understand the nature of God, and therefore he cannot rightfully claim to have divine authority.

I realize that this message sounds very uncompromising. It is my intention to sound uncompromising, because there truly is no cause which justifies the killing of other human beings. The Ten Commandments state clearly, “Thou shalt not kill.” The Ten Commandments do not specify conditions under which it becomes acceptable to kill. In my sermon on the mount I told people to do unto others as they would have others do unto them. I told people to turn the other cheek. I told people that if someone wants your coat, give him your cloak also. I told people to forgive seventy times seven.

Do you see any room in these statements for an interpretation that justifies the killing of another human being? I can tell you that I see no room for such an interpretation, and I see no circumstance that, in a divine sense, justifies the killing of another human being.

I am aware that many people will immediately raise the question of self-defense. Should a person simply let someone else kill him? Should a nation let another nation conquer it without resisting? I must tell you frankly that the relativity of the dualistic mind makes people prone to respond to attacks with violence. Therefore, they tend to think that it is always justified that you defend yourself when attacked. In reality, this question doesn’t have a black-and-white answer. In some cases, people should resist attacks and defend themselves, but in other cases it would be in people’s own best interest to respond to all attacks with non-violence.

To fully understand these matters, you need to understand and accept the Law of Cause and Effect, the law of karma, as explained elsewhere. The truth of the matter is that when God gave human beings free will, God was fully aware that people might use their free will to go against the laws and principles that God used to create this universe. God was also aware that if people did so, they would immediately set themselves apart from his Presence. God’s eyes cannot behold inequity and imperfection, because whatever God looks upon will be magnified by the immense creative powers of God.

Therefore one might say that there is a horizon beyond which God does not see. When human beings violate the laws of God, they immediately descend or fall below that horizon. They have literally fallen away from the Presence and grace of God; they have fallen from grace.

Because God knew this could happen, God created a completely impersonal law that is designed to teach people who have fallen from grace. This law is the Law of Cause and Effect, also called the law of karma. The simplest, although not the complete, description of this law is that everything people do it is done with God’s energy and the law of karma returns all imperfect energy to the person who generated it.

After the Fall, human beings created a situation on planet earth that is very far removed from the original design and intention of God. The current conditions found on this planet are so far removed from God’s original intention that most people would refuse to accept the differences. For example, how many people would believe that the density of the human consciousness has actually increased the density of physical matter, so that matter on planet earth is denser today than when the earth was created by Elohim?

My point here is that people have created a situation that has set aside or suspended God’s original design for this planet. Therefore, some of God’s original laws have been set aside or replaced by other laws, such as the Law of Cause and Effect. This law will return all misqualified energy to the person who generates it.

I cannot imagine that it would be possible to kill another human being without generating imperfect energy. Therefore, I can assure you that if you kill another human being, you will generate negative energy and you will inevitably reap as you have sown in the form of negative personal karma.

When people are caught in a relative state of mind, they find it virtually impossible to accept personal accountability and responsibility. That is why so many people, in their own minds, have created conditions under which it becomes acceptable to kill or perform acts of violence. Yet the simple fact is that killing another human being will always produce negative karma. There is simply no way to escape this.

I am aware that it is highly unlikely that a fundamentalist or literal Christian will ever read these teachings. Yet I would like to mention that there is an indication of this in Scripture. Consider the situation in the garden of Gethsemane, when the soldiers came to arrest me. One of my disciples drew his sword and cut off the ear of a soldier. I instantly healed the soldier, and I did so because I did not want my disciple to incur the karma of that act of violence. My disciple felt that the cause of defending the Messiah could justify what he saw as an act of self-defense. I knew that this was an incorrect assumption.

The brutal fact is that the law is the law. The law of cause and effect is completely impersonal. Like the law of gravity, it is no respecter of persons or the motives of human beings. Because human beings have created a situation that is very far removed from God’s original design, we now see a situation in which some people have become so unbalanced that they are prone to violence. In many cases such people have managed to attain positions of power as the leaders of nations. In God’s original design, such lifestreams simply could not have embodied on planet earth. Yet because humankind has fallen into such a low state of consciousness, such lifestreams are currently allowed to embody on this planet.

Obviously, such unbalanced lifestreams will commit acts of violence, and therefore it is foreseeable that more balanced people will face the difficult choice between allowing themselves to be killed or defending themselves.

My point of describing the law of cause and effect is to make you realize that everything you do with God’s energy will create an effect that will come back to you. If you kill another human being in self-defense, you will still make karma. However, your karma will not be as severe as if you killed in an act of aggression. Furthermore, the feelings with which you engage in acts of self-defense will also influence the severity of your karma. If you go to war and truly hate your enemy, your karma will be more severe than if you kill the enemy only as a last resort.

My long association with this planet and my knowledge of the dualistic mind has made me somewhat of a practical realist. Therefore, despite my teachings about turning the other cheek, I realize that self-defense is sometimes unavoidable. In certain situations, self-defense can be the lesser of two evils. However, I want to make it very clear that even killing in self-defense is not justified in the eyes of God. Killing in self-defense does not prevent you from making personal karma.

The lesson that humankind needs to learn is that people are ultimately responsible for their use and misuse of God’s energy. Human beings have, over numerous lifetimes, created the current situation on planet earth. This situation leads to violence, and responding with violence will not improve the overall situation. The situation can only be improved by removing the misqualified energy that pulls people into these negative spirals of violence and hatred.

You might be a saint in this lifetime, but there is no guarantee that you have not been a savage in a previous life. When the karma from that lifetime comes due, it might play out in the form of a savage attempting to kill you.
The question then becomes how you should deal with that situation. Should you passively allow the other person to kill you in an attempt to avoid making personal karma? Or should you defend yourself, possibly killing the other person and thereby reinforcing the karmic spiral?

I must tell you frankly that these are questions that cannot be answered in a general way. They can be answered only on an individual basis. In other words, because the current situation on earth is so far removed from God’s original intent, there can actually be situations in which defending your life, even if it involves killing your attacker, would be the lesser of two evils and therefore the practical thing to do. The dilemma of action versus non-action is illustrated in the Bhagavad Gita and in Shakespeare’s play Hamlet.

However, there can also be situations in which it is better for your spiritual growth to respond to any situation with non-violence. What I am showing you here is that because human beings have removed themselves so far from divine law, they have created situations in which none of the available options are in accordance with God’s law. Any option will lead to negative consequences, so the most practical option is the one that creates the lesser consequences. However, the lesser of two evils is still an evil in the eyes of God.

How can you know what is the right thing to do in a given situation? If you approach this question with the relativity of the dualistic mind, you will always come up with a justification for your short-term interest. Therefore, the only way to determine the best course of action is through personal Christhood.

If you have not attained personal Christhood, you would do well to err on the side of caution and respond to all situations by turning the other cheek. My sermon on the mount was designed as a guideline for people who had not attained Christhood and therefore had no way to reach beyond the relativity of the dualistic mind.

I must tell you that there are instances in which human beings have received direction from a higher source which correctly told them that self-defense, even involving the killing of other human beings, was the best course of action in that specific situation. However, I want to make it perfectly clear that this does not mean that the killing of other human beings was justified by God or by God’s law. The killing was merely the lesser of two evils in a situation where the violation of God’s law had made killing unavoidable.

In other words, even though people might have felt that this self-defense was justified according to a standard that was above and beyond self-interest, their actions were still not justified according to God’s law. Therefore, the people made karma for their actions.

I am aware that this distinction will seem contradictory or be difficult to understand for people who are caught in the relativity of the dualistic mind. Yet, the distinction is real. There are situations in which self-defense, even a war in self-defense, is the lesser of two evils and therefore the most practical response to a situation that is outside of God’s law. Yet I must also tell you that these situations are few and far between, and in most cases where people believe they are fighting a just war, they are deceived by the relativity of the dualistic mind.

Some of the Old Testament wars fit into the category as unavoidable wars. In modern times, it was the lesser of two evils that western nations resisted communism instead of allowing this ideology to spread to the entire world. If a person is caught in the relativity of the dualistic mind, that person will reason that these wars were just wars, and the person will not attempt to attain a deeper understanding.

Yet when you look at the situation with the clarity of the Christ mind, you see that no war was ever a just war. Certain wars were unavoidable, certain wars could be considered necessary in order to prevent a greater calamity that would have caused an even greater loss of life. Yet these wars were still not justified, because there is no divine justification for killing a human being.

I must tell you frankly that I do not consider the war with Iraq to be unavoidable or necessary. There are far more constructive ways of dealing with the threat of terrorism.

I am giving this message on March 5, 2003, at a time when the war with Iraq has not officially started, yet is considered unavoidable by most people. I do not consider any war unavoidable, but I realize that if the United States were to stop or even postpone this war, the current leadership of this nation would see it as a loss of credibility, even a loss of face.

I must tell you frankly that this dilemma is a situation that is entirely self-created. The Bush administration has created the current state of tension. It has backed itself into a corner, and if it goes to war out of an unwillingness to reverse course, then I can assure you that there is nothing unavoidable or necessary about such an act. It is an act that is largely caused by arrogance.

I will prophesy that if the administration decides to launch a war against Iraq, it is highly likely that it will later be seen as the greatest mistake of the Bush administration. I will also predict that such a war will not minimize the risk of terrorist attacks on American interests. On the contrary, it is likely to fuel further attacks. Furthermore, a war with Iraq will not help bring about world peace. On the contrary, it will only make many other nations, including Iran and North Korea, feel threatened by what they will inevitably see as American aggression. I will even state that I do not find such viewpoints to be unfounded.

The simple fact is that after the attacks on September 11, 2001, the United States was in the position of being seen as the victim, and therefore it had widespread support and cooperation. A war with Iraq will almost certainly remove the impression that the United States is a victim. Instead, it will be seen as an aggressor and international support and cooperation will begin to evaporate, as is already evident in the United Nations.

I will prophesy that if the Bush administration goes to war against Iraq, this war will have ramifications that will haunt the United States, and indeed the entire planet, for a long time to come. Taken to the extreme, there is a risk, not a high risk but still a risk, that the war with Iraq can escalate into a worldwide conflict. If such a conflict ensues, it is likely to begin with an increase in the number of terrorist attacks. Yet there is a real risk that the situation can escalate into a full-blown war between nation states. Who can tell how far such a conflict might escalate?

The real question concerning the war with Iraq is how far the United States is willing to go down the slippery slope of using its military might in preemptive strikes against nations that are considered to be a threat to American interests or national security.

Considering my teachings on the dualistic mind, I hope many people will see that any definition of American interests or national security will almost certainly be influenced by relative self-interest. The sad fact is that many Americans, leaders and citizens alike, seem to believe that because the United States is a free nation and a democracy, it is somehow above becoming the victim of relative self-interest.

Many people seem to think that the United States could never make any serious mistake or do something really wrong. I have studied the dualistic mind for a long time, and I can assure you that no nation is above becoming the victim of self-interest. In fact, it is precisely the nations that think they are above this that are the most likely victims. Pride does often precede the fall.

I earlier said that the western resistance to communism avoided a greater evil. The United States deserves credit for the fact that it provided the main bastion against the spread of communism without engaging in an all-out war with the Soviet Union. Once again, I am not saying that the methods used during the Cold War were justified according to a divine standard. However, I am saying that the United States did represent the higher of the two sides in the conflict.

Nevertheless, in any conflict there is a real risk that a nation, even though it fights for the greater good, may end up becoming worse than the enemy it is fighting. There are strong forces in the United States who are arguing that after winning the Cold War this nation should use its superior military capacity to further American interests.

Some people actually believe that American interests are synonymous with the interests of freedom and democracy, even with the interests of God. I must tell you quite frankly and openly that this is such a naive and dangerous belief that I can scarcely fathom how anyone can seriously believe this. It is disturbing to me that so many Americans, even though being moral and ethical people, fail to make the distinction between what is truly the interests of God and what is merely the narrow, short-sighted relative interests of people who are ready to use the military power of the United States to further the power elite’s desire for power, control and money.

I am saddened by the fact that while many people outside of the United States can see these hidden forces at work, so few Americans have awakened to the reality that there are many hidden forces preying on their nation. I must tell you frankly that unless the American people wake up and make a determined effort to prevent the United States from becoming the bully of the world-wide neighborhood, there is a high risk that this nation, within a decade, can become a worse tyrant than the Soviet Union ever was.

Obviously, the American people have a greater opportunity to speak out against their nation’s policy than did the citizens of the Soviet Union. Yet it remains to be seen whether a critical mass of Americans will wake up and make use of this opportunity. The American people are today in a similar situation to that encountered by Prince Hamlet. Hamlet knew there were forces inside his own kingdom that were plotting against him, yet he refused to take active measures to stop these forces, and this decision led to a greater calamity.

I am not suggesting that the American people should use violence to prevent their government from using violence. On the contrary, this battle must be fought with information and non-violent measures. What I am saying is that the American people must do something to restrain their own government, because without action from the people, the government will not be able to restrain itself.

Question: Was the prophecy on the 3 days of darkness accurate and, if so, is there still a possibility that this prophecy could come to pass? I am referring to the third Fatima secret that was originally given to Jacinta, to Padre Pio from 1949/50 to the four young girls in Garabandal from 1961-1965 and to Veronica Lueken from 1970-1995 in New York as well as other places.

I would like to begin by giving you the reasons why I generally will not comment on specific prophecies. The main reason is that I do not want people to become co-dependent on the answers I give on this site. I want people to make a sincere effort to build individual Christhood and thereby attain the discernment that will give them personal answers.

There are so many prophecies (both true and false) today that it is very easy for people to become confused or burdened. I see many sincere seekers who are so burdened by the fear of prophecy that they cannot pursue the path of personal Christhood. This is not what I want to see. Therefore, the only way to know whether a specific prophecy applies to you, and what kind of action you might take because of the prophecy, is through personal revelation.

The most important goal of this website is to inspire people to put on their personal Christhood. If I were to start commenting on whether this or that prophecy is true, I think you can foresee that many people would use this website as a sort of clearing house. In other words, people would begin to seek outer answers instead of looking for the inner answers.

That being said, I will give some general comments on the three days of darkness. Throughout history, a number of people have been given visions about a period of darkness, including three days of darkness.

Several of these visions have been valid visions. There has indeed been a potential for an event that would create a phenomenon similar to the three days of darkness as described in several visions. This events was an all-out nuclear war between the superpowers. If such a war had taken place, even scientists realize that it could stir up enough dust to block the sun’s rays.

In some of the visions referring to the three days of darkness, the original vision was valid, but the description given by the visionary was somewhat colored by the person’s consciousness and beliefs. An example is the idea that during the three days of darkness only blessed candles would burn. In a rational age, you do not need to believe in such an idea. This does not mean that you should (as so many people do) reject the entire vision or message. However, you should use your inner discernment and seek answers from your Christ self.

Concerning your question of whether the three days of darkness could still occur, I must tell you that I do not know for sure. How can I guarantee you that humankind will not use nuclear weapons? What I can tell you is that up until the year 2002, a large-scale nuclear war was a real possibility. However, the year 2002 marked the end of an intense descent of planetary karma. Therefore, I will say that I consider it unlikely that there will be a large-scale nuclear war on this planet.

I hope many people will find great comfort in this statement. I also hope that it will not put people to sleep. There is still a real possibility that a large-scale war, possibly a world war, could take place. If you read the news, you will see many signs that point to the possibility of such a conflict. However, you should not assume that a third world war would be the same type of conflict as the previous world wars.

In today’s world, it is far more likely that a conflict will be triggered by terrorist attacks against civilians. If such attacks begin to occur at an increasing frequency, it is obvious that many nations will join in a military action to put an end to these attacks. Once you open the Pandora’s box or war, who can predict how it will end?

I cannot predict the outcome of an event that is so heavily influenced by people who are completely absorbed in the dualistic mind. Therefore, I encourage you to consider directing your prayer work and other spiritual work towards mitigating or avoiding a third World War.

Please take note that I am not saying that such a war will definitely occur. I am saying that I consider it a possibility, and that is why several prophecies talk about such a war. I think anyone with common sense, be they religious or otherwise, should be able to read the signs of the times.

Please do not respond to these statements with fear. Always remember that the key to mitigating prophecy is Christ consciousness.
