Spiritual meaning of Donald Trump’s election

Question: What is the spiritual significance of Donald Trump’s election as President?

My beloved, we have deliberately chosen not to comment too much on the election in the United States because, as we have even said before, we are not looking for a particular person to be elected president. We are not looking for a particular physical outcome. We are looking at what will raise the awareness of the people—and the people can learn in various ways. In many cases, they need to learn from the school of somewhat hard knocks by seeing the out-picturing of something.

In a sense, you could say that Hillary Clinton represented politics as usual, the political establishment and Donald Trump represented something different. Nobody really knew what he represented but they knew it was not the same as Hillary Clinton and this is what many voters in the United States responded to. That is why enough people voted for him that he got elected.

Now, it is not so that we sit up here and say, as many people in the United States would like to hear, that this person is the right president and that person was the wrong president and therefore people should vote this and that way. In this instance, it was the case that there were two candidates and neither of which really have the awareness that I could sponsor them fully as president. It was simply a matter of whether people would learn one way or the other.

We could say that in terms of learning by doing something new and seeing how it works out, doing something untraditional and seeing how it works out, then Donald Trump is the better teacher because he is willing to make more out-of-the-box choices than Hillary Clinton would have been willing to do. She would have gone for the safe bet and what you normally do.

This is, of course, when you look at it from a world-wide scale, why many nations have responded the way they have. Hillary Clinton meant for them that things would be done as they had been done, and they knew where they had the United States. With Donald Trump they do not feel that they know where they have the United States. This insecurity, and this uncertainty is what makes them respond the way they do.

Now of course, it also needs to be figured into the equation that the United States’ political system is set up specifically to limit the powers of the president. Donald Trump comes from the business background. He is used to being the CEO who has almost god-like powers. Whenever he says: “Do this,” his organization does this. Whenever the president of the United States says: “Do this,” congress says: “Not so fast.” You have already examples of this, even where his own party would not support the health care reform that he proposed (prematurely one might say).

In the more long term, the reality is that I am looking for people to take more responsibility for their own nations. This means that they need to come to the point where they no longer want politics to be done the way it has been done for decades. They no longer want a small elite, whether it is a power elite or political elite. They no longer want an establishment of these politicians that want to be elected for life, want to be in congress or the senate for life, don’t want anything new, don’t want to rock the boat.

People need to get to the point where they realize they want something different from this, and so that is why, in a sense, you could say it was encouraging that enough people chose the untraditional candidate.

This is not endorsing Donald Trump and his presidency because he has many ideas that are out of alignment with the ascended masters and with my vision for the United States. First among them, of course, building a wall with Mexico and wanting to shut out all immigrants. The United States was built by immigrants and my vision is that it would be much more open to immigration and would allow many more people to come in. This would certainly increase the economy much more than you can possibly increase the economy by putting America first and isolating America from the rest of the world.

As we have said so many times, closed systems cannot endure and just the whole idea of building a wall and breaking treaties and isolating America is, of course, attempting to turn the United States into a closed system.

I am not saying that this is done deliberately and consciously, but this is the effect of it. Therefore, it will not have the impact that Donald Trump believes or that his voters believe. Now naturally, I also recognize that there is a need to shake things up. To put someone in who does not have much political experience but does have leadership experience and dares to do something out-of-the-box, can be a positive step. Again, this is not in the long term the kind of candidate I am looking for, neither was Hillary Clinton. If you want a candidate that had the potential to be more in alignment with my vision, then Bernie Sanders would have been the better choice but it was not realistic that he would get nominated by the Democratic Party.

What this does is point to the fact that the United States need to come to a point where the voters are so dissatisfied with politics as usual that they realize that the next step is to open up for more political parties than the Republicans and the Democrats. Many opinion polls have shown that 80% of the American population are in the center of the political spectrum, meaning that many of them feel that they are not represented by either the Democrats or the Republicans.

Now, for a democratic nation this should be seen as a major problem. If you have representative democracy, but 80% of the voters (or at least a large percentage of them) feel they are not represented, then you have a problem—a real problem. You can deal with it in various ways, including opening up for more political parties or moving towards more direct democracy, but this is certainly a step that needs to be taken before the United States will get out of this political gridlock that so many people recognize they are in.

A fulfilled life and suicide

Question: The question was asked if it was ok or not to let people who are in a coma pass away or not. A new question was asked about euthanasia if it was okay to let elderly people who are sick to undergo euthanasia or not? Recently there have been discussions about what I would describe as a “fulfilled life,” which is the idea that people who are maybe even 50 or 55 and not being ill necessarily, should or should not be allowed to end their lives?

Well, in a sense, my beloved, when free will reigns supreme, you have the right to end your life at any time and the issue here is that if you commit suicide, well how is society going to punish you? The reality of it is that the laws against suicide are actually meant to, perhaps, prevent some people from taking that step. It is, however, one of these topics where it is always valid to have a debate about any issue but it should not be necessary to legislate about something like this, because the reality here is that this, of course, is an individual matter. I am not saying that I am encouraging anybody to come to the decision: “I have fulfilled my life so I am going to commit suicide.” We are never encouraging anyone to commit suicide.

Again, the real issue here is how much do people know before they make such a decision? Are they making an informed decision or are they not? You understand that there are many demons and entities that are trying to drive people to commit suicide. They mostly do this through making people very frustrated and unbalanced, but there are also demons that are working through this particular issue and would like to create a culture where people choose to kill themselves for a variety of reasons, including to save the environment and give more space on the planet. Therefore, there is no reason to legislate about something like this but it would be valuable to have a debate about what is involved with this. What are the long-term consequences? If you have a soul that lives on after the physical body dies, what are the consequences for that soul? You may feel that you have had enough of this planet and you want to leave, but what if you have not balanced the karma? How is that going to affect your next lifetime?

All of these questions should be incorporated before anyone could even make an informed choice. I can assure you that when people do have the ability to make an informed choice, they would not choose to kill themselves prematurely—and they would, in fact, not choose to kill themselves at all.

If we want to give a black-and-white view of the issue, we could say that there are certain yogis or people who have a spiritual mastery who have come to a point where they were able to, as they say, lay the body down. They were able to actively make the decision to withdraw the soul from the body and therefore the physical body would die. This was something they did through their mental mastery, not by applying a physical remedy.

Therefore, you could say that if you are at the point where you are able to withdraw your soul from the body without physically killing the body, well, then you have a right to do it. Until that point, you should probably be very, very careful about making that decision because you are most likely playing God and actually going against your Divine plan by artificially shortening the lifespan that was defined in that divine plan.

The importance of physical health for spiritual seekers

Question: Can the ascended masters comment on the importance of longevity. Do people have to pay more attention, to the focus of longevity (of the longevity of the physical body) in the golden age?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Holland in 2017.

When you walk the spiritual path and seek to raise your consciousness, you are doing the most important thing you can do for the longevity of the physical body. This, of course, does not mean that we are telling you to ignore any kind of health advice or that you should not pay attention to your bodies. This is not what we are saying, but we are saying that it is important to have a certain sense of priority when you are walking the path. You can, of course, take various measures that you feel appeal to you according to your intuitive sense.

My beloved, we have not given much advice about health and the reason for this is very simple. Each human being is an individual and has an individual human body. More than that, your physical body is an expression of the three higher bodies and you are all individuals in your three higher bodies.

The physical body is not a mechanical device, regardless of what materialism claims. You cannot simply say that we have now discovered that this particular physical remedy cures disease in many people and therefore it should work for all. Likewise, you cannot say that eating this particular food or not eating that particular food has this effect on many people so it should have the same effect on all.

It truly is your responsibility to use your intuition to tune in to what is important for you. How much attention should you put on your body individually? Some of you will need to put more attention on the body and it is right for you to put more attention on the body, whereas for others you should not put as much attention on the body, but more on the psychology and on spiritual growth.

It is a highly individual matter, but if you are walking the spiritual path and diligently applying yourself, you are doing the most important thing you can do for the longevity of the body. Other than that, you recognize, of course, that as your intuition gets better, you will get intuitive promptings on what specific things to do. You also need to be aware that the longevity of the physical body is not really a goal or an end in itself. Your body is here to support your spiritual growth. The focus on keeping the body alive artificially is not really the highest approach. In the same way, you have some very spiritual people who have become very focused on the concept of immortality, of trying to live forever in their current physical body. This is not what we are teaching either because even if you reach full Christhood, it does not mean that you can sustain the body indefinitely. There are some yogis who have been able to sustain the body for a long time. They have done this for a specific purpose and it does not mean that all people should strive to do this, or that all Christed beings should do this.

Again, there is a time when it is your natural time to leave the physical body behind. When you attain a higher degree of Christhood, you can actually tune in to this and you will know when it is your time. I will also say that you understand we are always seeking to help you achieve balance. While I am not telling you to neglect your body, I am actually making you aware that many people (including many, many spiritual people) have developed an unbalanced focus on the body.

They actually have gone into a mindset where they think that it is necessary to have a healthy body in order to further their spiritual growth. This is by no means necessarily the case. It is not that a healthy body hinders your spiritual growth, but if you place too much attention on the body, my beloved, it is unbalanced. One effect of this can be that people pay so much attention to the body that they do not look at their psychology. Of course, looking at your psychology is the real key to spiritual growth. Another effect of this is that people can go into a mindset where their focus on the body is based on a subconscious belief that the body can hinder their spiritual progress, that the body can facilitate their spiritual progress, and that their spiritual progress is dependent on the state of the body.

Now, there are lower levels of the path where, if you have a specific condition such as a disease, then you obviously need to pay attention to the body. There comes a higher level of the path where you realize that you actually go into a state that we might call benevolent neglect of the body where you recognize that the body has a certain mind of its own. If you give the body attention, it can be like a small child: It just wants more attention. There can actually be an aspect of your mind that manufactures more bodily problems because it knows it can get your attention that way. There are, of course, also various demons and entities that seek to project physical problems into your four lower bodies in order to extract your energy. There comes a point on the path where you need to decide that your body is not in charge of your life. Your body is not in charge of your spiritual path—you are.

Therefore, you go into a mindset where you are not accepting that the body, in whatever state of health you may have, can hinder your spiritual progress. When you make this shift in the mind, the physical body will gradually begin to comply. It may take some time. It may take some effort, various healing efforts, but the shift in the mind can bring you to a point where your bodily issues are not hindering your spiritual growth or your wellbeing simply because you have decided to, so to speak, put the body in its rightful place as the servant and not the master.

Are some spiritual beings born in a special way

Question: According to some teachings  Mahavatar Babaji was born by the power of the mind and Padma Sambhava was born from the Lotus flower of the mind. Are their birth stories real or are they just symbols with meaning.

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

My beloved, there are many, many teachings found in the world that sets certain beings apart as having been born in a special way. You have, of course, Jesus and the virgin birth, you have Gautama Buddha being born in a very special way and you have various claims about  beings who were born exclusively of the mind. None of these teachings are correct, my beloved.

What is the entire purpose of a spiritual being taking embodiment or manifesting some physical presence on the earth? It is not to demonstrate superiority but to demonstrate the path that all people can walk to the ascended state. The more special a being would be, whether through its birth or in other ways, the more it would defeat that purpose.

You see that the entire idea that some beings are born in a special way that cannot be replicated by other people is simply not correct. It is an offspring of the fallen consciousness and its desire to always make some people special so that you who see yourselves as normal people cannot follow them. Look at how the Christian religion has used the concept of the virgin birth to set Jesus apart and make so many people think that it is blasphemy for them to think they could follow the path to Christhood.

You recognize here that it is not that it is impossible for a spiritual being to manifest a body through the powers of the mind. It is possible to do so, it is just that it has no purpose and it is, in fact, not allowed by the Karmic Board who are overseeing the evolution of earth. Therefore, it does not take place in practicality. Those who want to enter a physical body on earth have to go through the arduous process of being born in the regular way as everyone else.

Added by Mother Mary: There are, of course, exceptions to every rule, as there are ascended masters who have received a dispensation to manifest a physical body for a time without going through the process of physical birth and the growth to adulthood. This happened to Saint Germain as the Wonderman of Europe and to Jesus after his mission in Galilee ended. Yet these are rare exceptions.

Babaji was born in the normal way but has maintained his physical body for much longer than normal. Padma Sambhava was born in the normal way in his last embodiment.

Why so few dictations from Kuthumi?

Question: I heard master Kuthumi is also a world teacher like Jesus, but we can find only a few dictations from him. Is there any special reason for this. Can you recommend if there is a messenger for Kuthumi in the world. 

Answer from the Ascended Master Kuthumi through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

There is no special reason for this other than for any messenger there are certain masters that the messenger has been working with for many embodiments and therefore is closer to. Of course, I am a world teacher along with Jesus, but this messenger has a very close relationship with Jesus and Jesus has had so many teachings he has wanted to bring out, that there has not yet been the opening and the possibility for me to really work with this messenger.

I do not at this point want to recommend any other messenger but I recommend that you, if you recognize this messenger, focus on the masters that are speaking through him. I can assure you, my beloved, that I am so close to Jesus that if you focus on Jesus, you will also become closer with me and then you can use the relationship with Jesus, his dictations, to develop your personal inner relationship to me if you feel that you have such a relationship.

What happens at the time of death?

Question: Can you explain about the process of death? What happens at our time of death?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

This is a complicated topic that I cannot go into depth with here. Basically, what happens is that when the body stops functioning, which normally means that the heart stops and the breathing stops, then you will start to detach yourself from the body. The more spiritually aware you are, the more you are aware of ascended master teachings and the more you have made the calls for the resolution of your psychology and the overcoming of attachment to anything on earth, the easier it will be for you to leave the body behind.

There are many, many people on earth who are very attached to the physical body and the life they have had. For such people it can be very difficult to leave the body behind. This is why they sometimes become what we call discarnate beings. Because they cannot leave the body, they cannot leave the physical octave and therefore they cannot move on into the light that many people have seen when they have had near-death experiences.

If you have read about near-death experiences, you will know that people experience going into a tunnel, moving through the tunnel and then moving into a light where they are sometimes greeted with relatives who have died before them, or spiritual beings to whom they felt close during their lifetime. The ideal scenario is, of course, that people move on so they can receive the guidance to find their proper station where they can grow until it is time for their next embodiment.

It is important, as a spiritual person, to realize that the body is only a vehicle you are using for a time. The life you are having right now is not an end in itself, it is only a part of your ongoing process of the growth and unfoldment of your lifestream. Especially if you know that death is approaching, it is very important to work on your attachments to this lifetime, to make the calls but also to work with yourself consciously. Look at where you have attachments, look at where you have unfulfilled desires and then, as much as possible, let go of them. When the body stops functioning, you are not attached to it, you do not seek to stay with it. You turn around and you recognize the finality that this lifetime has ended and now it is time to move into the next phase of your conscious growth, your conscious evolution. Then, you move into that tunnel, you move to your right station and you follow the beings who are there to greet you so that you can find your right station between embodiments.

Spiritual help for people with dementia or Alzheimer’s

Question: I’m working at a hospital and I sometimes find it very difficult when taking care of people with senile dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. These people seem to me to have lost their consciousness so could you give me some advice on what I have to do when I take care of them as spiritual beings.

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

There are different scenarios for how this disease can outplay itself. There are some people who develop this disease because they for various reasons want to withdraw from their outer lives, but they are still willing to work on themselves and their psychology. Therefore, they can experience some growth, even though they have no outer awareness. There are relatively few of those people.

The majority of the people who develop this disease, do so because they belong to the category of people we have talked about who have experienced such severe and destructive consequences in past lives, that they are afraid of making decisions. They come to a point in their lives where they no longer want to consciously cope with life and its challenges. They simply subconsciously withdraw from conscious awareness, but it is not yet their natural time to leave embodiment and therefore they become stuck in this no-man’s land.

What unfortunately happens to people in this category is that they leave their body temple, their four lower bodies, their chakras open and unprotected to any influence. This means that in many cases, discarnate souls, entities or demons from the astral plane can walk in and start taking over and using the mind, the body and the chakras of these people. That is why, if you work closely with such people, you can often feel a very low energy around them.

The best thing you can do here, is to first of all make calls for yourself to be protected and sealed from any influence. You can make calls to Archangel Michael for protection, you can make calls to Astrea to cut you free and you can make calls to Saint Germain for the transformation of the energy by the violet flame. You also need to decide that you are not going to take in anything from these people. You need to decide that whatever they do or say, you are not going to take it personally, you are not going to react to them because you know they are not fully conscious. What is the point of reacting to what they do or say as if they were conscious beings who were doing it deliberately.

There is, of course, often a deliberate intent but this comes from the demons or entities and they are not conscious in the sense of having self-consciousness. They are just mindlessly repeating their patterns. Again, there is no point in taking any of this personally. When you do not take it personally, then you can avoid reacting to it and therefore taking on the energy. You do not help these people at all by taking on the energy; it only burdens yourself.

What you can do for these people is make the calls for them to be cut free from the patterns that keep them tied to this decision of not wanting to be alive or being conscious. You can make calls for the healing of their psychology. If you know something about their life history, you may be able to see what the pattern is that caused the person to withdraw and you can make calls for this.

You can also, in some cases, achieve some results by talking to these people and telling them what you see in their psychology and their patterns. However, I do not recommend that you do this when you are working in a professional capacity, because you do not know these people so well personally and you have many people you are taking care of and therefore cannot spend the time with people individually. Therefore, I recommend a more detached approach where you do not engage these people but simply make the calls and then leave it up to free will what the response will be. In many cases, there will be no response and therefore it is wise not to expect one.

If you are family members and you know the person’s history and you know about psychology and ascended master teachings, you can in some cases achieve results by talking to the person whether they are awake or asleep. You can simply make statements about the patterns you see in their psychology, why they don’t need to respond that way, why they don’t need to believe what they believe, why they don’t need to look at life the way they did when they were still conscious. It is a possibility that this can achieve results along with making calls. There is, of course, no guarantee because it was their free will that caused them to withdraw and it is their free will that will have to change them so they decide to move on.

Kabbalistic teachings

Question: What is the original source of Kabbalism, Judaism. Was it from the ascended masters. 

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

The original Kabbalistic teachings were inspired from the ascended masters. The people who received them were not quite able to receive it in the highest form possible. This means that there is more to the Kabbalistic teachings that has been released or that was released in the beginning.

It does not mean that the Kabbalistic teachings are not valuable. They are valid teachings that can be used. But as with every other teaching, it is a question of, first of all, can people maintain a contact to the source of the teaching and therefore receive new teachings or new directions. Or will they go into creating an overlay to the original teachings that comes from the human level. This has to a large degree happened with the Kabbalistic teachings, as it happens with Judaism in general and with every other religion on earth.

Purpose of the ascension

Question: What is the final destination of a human being’s soul in the process of ascension?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

Again, this is a question that is somewhat complex because of the way most people look at the concept of the soul. Most people would say that it was the soul that descended and it is the soul that will ascend. We have given more complex teachings now where what most people call the soul is actually what we call the four lower bodies, the lower being.

This was something that was created by the Conscious You in order for it to have a vehicle to interact with the four levels of matter. In order to ascend, the Conscious You must return to its original pure state where it is not identified with anything on earth, and then it ascends. In the sense that people broadly use the “soul,” we can say that the soul ascends. In the more specific way that we use these concepts, the soul is actually dissolved and then the Conscious You ascends.

The purpose of the process of the ascension is, of course, that you become an ascended master. When you become an ascended master, you have a choice. You can choose to stay with the earth and then serve to help your unascended brothers and sisters rise in consciousness. Or you can choose to move on to other assignments elsewhere in the spiritual realm. Often new masters choose to stay with this realm, but in some cases there are even newly ascended beings who focus all of their attention on rising even higher.

Ultimately, the process of going up through the previous spheres and the levels of the spiritual realm is to reach what we have called the Creator consciousness. You can become a creator in your own right and you can create a world like the one in which you live, but with your own individual characteristics.

Can animals reincarnate as humans

Question: Can human beings reincarnate as animals by a certain karma? Can animals evolve and be born as a human being?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

No, my beloved, a human being cannot reincarnate as an animal. This is not a correct teaching, it is a misunderstanding of the path. A human being is not like an animal in the sense that an animal is a being that evolves through a gradual process.

Maitreya has explained this in greater depth in his book, but the reality is that there are two parallel tracks happening on earth. You see that in nature there is an evolutionary process, a gradual process that is guided by beings with consciousness but the process itself is somewhat unconscious. This is what Charles Darwin correctly observed, namely that there is a certain unconscious evolutionary process in nature. What he did not acknowledge, and what has not been acknowledged, is that this does not apply to humans.

A human being originated in a higher realm and has descended from there. Many would say that the soul has descended but we have now given more specific teachings where we distinguish between the soul, meaning the four lower bodies, and the Conscious You. Nevertheless, there is something that descends from above and that is why you cannot, as a human being, reincarnate at the animal level.

You can, as a human being, devolve so to speak to the point where your consciousness is so low that you cannot take physical embodiment on earth. Then, you will go into the astral plane and you can then go to lower and lower levels of the astral plane until you can no longer stay with the earth but must go to a place that is even lower in consciousness than the earth, even though there are fewer and fewer such places in the universe.

Can an animal evolve to the human level? Well, this is a complicated question because of the way that people look at animals. There is a tendency among human beings to look at an animal as an individual and this is not correct. I know that many people will have had pets, especially cats and dogs and sometimes horses, that they have a very close relationship to, and they feel that this animal has awareness, it has personality. You may even feel that you have had several animals where it was the same being, the same consciousness, that you recognise.

Now, my beloved, your feelings are not wrong in the sense that there is something that you can connect to, but you must understand that this is not the animal in its outer form, this is the elemental that has created that form. Elemental beings are able to progress in consciousness to where they can receive a three-fold flame and therefore take embodiment as humans. There is a certain portion of the human beings who are in embodiment right now who started out as elementals.

It would be simplistic to say that here is a person who for the first time has embodied as a human and before it embodied as a human it was a cat or a dog. It was an elemental that out-pictured, for example, a cat or a dog, but it is not the being of the cat or the dog that moves on to the human form. It is the elemental who has reached a level of awareness where it is no longer fully identified with being a cat or a dog because it has taken on certain human-like qualities through its interaction with humans. Therefore, the elemental, in order to incarnate as a human, must transcend the animal form and leave it behind.

The Lotus Sutra and the inner path of Buddhahood

Question: The Lotus Sutra is accepted as one of the most essential Sutras in Korean Buddhism. The Sutra says that everybody has a Buddha nature and the capability to become Buddha equally.  I am curious to know if the Lotus Sutra was given by the real Gautama Buddha.

Answer from the Ascended Master Gautama Buddha through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

Yes, my beloved, it is a valid Sutra given by me. That being said, I would like to point out that the vast majority of the people who give this Sutra do not believe what is said in the Sutra. They do not fully accept that they have the Buddha nature within them and therefore they can also be the Buddha. If we could get people to accept this, we could make major progress. It would take Buddhism to a new stage where they would begin to more openly acknowledge the potential of actually manifesting the Buddha nature. Of course, the more people express this, the more change you will see in society and the raising of the collective consciousness.

Now, we might say that when I use the terminology of the Buddha nature as inherent in every person, it should be understood that this is not in conflict with the teachings of Jesus about the Christ being in every person and every person as having the potential to become the Christ. There is no conflict here. They are not mutually exclusive concepts, it is simply that they were given at different times for different cultures. There are, of course, certain shadings that we might discuss, as we have taught about before, where the Christ consciousness is a stage that you go through where you are reaching out more to help others and then there can come the Buddhic consciousness, or what we often in the East see as the Buddhic consciousness, where you are more anchored within and therefore may even withdraw from the world as you saw me withdraw to an ashram and teach from there. Whereas you saw Jesus go out and meet the people where they are.

Again, these are not mutually exclusive, they are just different stages and there are people who are ready to embrace the path of Buddhahood. There are also many who are born in the East and who are not actually ready to embrace the path of Buddhahood because they need to go through some stages first. Therefore, they will need to go through the path of Christhood first before they are actually ready for it.

This is, of course, one of the major problems that are always in existence when a spiritual teaching is given. Any spiritual teaching is given for a particular level of consciousness. If people are not at that level of consciousness, they cannot lock in to the inner meaning of the teaching. That is when they then take the teaching and turn it into an outer religion, as we have mentioned before, where even Buddhism has become so ritualized and so steeped in outer traditions and rituals that people think that by performing the outer ceremonies and rituals, they will automatically make progress.

It is not that people cannot make some progress this way, but if you follow all of the outer tenets of Buddhism and keep doing so, you will not automatically arrive at the point where you are ready to actually accept your Buddha nature. It is, of course, the same with Christianity where those who did not understand the inner path to Christhood created the outer religion. Again, as Jesus has said many times, following the outer practices of Christianity as it is today will not get you to the point where you are ready to embrace the inner path.

It is very necessary that there is a growing awareness of the need to look beyond the outer teaching and the outer rituals and lock in to the inner message and the inner path. What we are teaching today, as ascended masters, is precisely that the path has different levels and that at different levels you need different teachings. Therefore, there are actually many people in the East who have grown up in a Buddhist culture who could benefit greatly from studying the teachings we have released in this age about the path to Christhood. This would allow them to walk a gradual step-by-step path that would make them more ready for the path of Buddhahood.

Of course, even though I attempted to give the Eight-fold path as an outer guideline, there is no guarantee that following an outer system will open your mind to the inner path. This needs to be a conscious awareness, a conscious decision, that you are willing to walk that inner path. That is why it is not the highest approach to assume that because you were born in a Buddhist culture, you are ready for the true inner path of the Buddha.

It is better to be more open and humble so that you do not have this gap between where you are and where you think the Buddha was. This is what you see in so many Buddhists, as you see in so many Christians, that they see a gap between themselves and the Buddhic consciousness as they see a gap between themselves and Jesus. There is no way in the outer religion to cross that gap. It can only be crossed through the inner path, but you need to be sensitive to where you are at in consciousness and what you need in order to go through the next step of your path.

What has happened in so many religions and cultures is that they have taken away that inner path and so the outer religion has created this gap. The fallen beings, of course, do everything they can to pervert the outer practices so people cannot close the gap and find the inner path. What we seek in this age is to make people aware of the existence of the inner path and the necessity of following it.

Building discernment about spiritual techniques and teachings

Question:  In your book The Song of life Healing matrix, the Divine mother Maraytaii talks about the soundless sound which created the universe. Here are many people who are practicing a meditation called Surat Shabd yoga, the inner light and sound meditation which originated from Saint Gabriel of India (a religious society). Can you please comment on the relationship between these. 

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

My beloved, there are many methods that have been developed on earth. There are many methods that have been given by various beings in a higher realm, including the ascended masters. The soundless sound mentioned in the healing matrix book is not, of course, a soundless sound. It is a sound that you cannot hear with the physical ear because it is above and beyond the vibrations that the ear can hear. We have called it the soundless sound in order to help you realize that it is not the kind of sound that exists in the material realm. Of course, the sound levels that you have in the material realm could not have created the material realm. This I trust you can see.

It is important for you to make that distinction so you do not think that the sounds that you have and that you can use in the material realm can affect what is beyond the material realm. There are many people, over the course of history, who have attempted to create certain rituals, certain matrices, certain incantations that can affect what goes on in the spiritual realm. There are people who have, as Jesus said, attempted to take heaven by force because they think that they can create some kind of ritual that forces God or angels or the ascended masters to give them what they want, to produce certain physical results. But this, of course, is not possible. There is absolutely nothing you can do, either with sound, light or other energies that make up the material universe, that can force a response from the spiritual realm. The lower vibrations that make up the material universe have no power whatsoever over the spiritual.

This is the measure that you can use to evaluate any method that has been developed, or that people claim they have received from a higher realm. If a certain method claims that it has the power to produce a certain response from the spiritual realm – from angels, from God, from spiritual beings – then you know that it does not come from the ascended realm because we, of course, know that this is not possible.

Now, you may, of course, look at our invocations and decrees and say: “Well, do they not have the effect of invoking light from the spiritual realm?” And yes they do, but they do not force it. They do not force us to release light. You understand that even though we have given you a decree, for example a decree to Archangel Michael, if you give that decree with impure intentions, there will be no response from Archangel Michael.

The reason for this is that the relationship you have with us is not a mechanical relationship. We have not given you a blank check. We have not given you a mechanical instrument so that if you give an invocation a certain number of times, you are guaranteed to produce a certain result. We have given you a matrix that allows us to release light, if we choose to do so. If we choose to release light, we will do so.

Now, that being said, there is, of course, a certain effect that can be attained by giving any kind of ritual because there are certain rituals that can invoke an effect from energy that is already in the material spectrum. If you, for example, are burdened by negative energy of a certain vibration and you invoke energy of a higher vibration but still in the material spectrum, then you can have a positive effect from this. But this is not the same as invoking light from the ascended realm because the light from the ascended realm is not released mechanically. It is released by our choice, by our evaluating the purity of your intention.

You understand that there are actually people who can give invocations and decrees, and they receive no response from us whatsoever because their intention is not pure. However, there are very few people who are in this situation. The vast majority of people will receive a response from us, but that response will be designed based on their individual situation. It is clear that when we release a technique, such as invocations, we do not demand that you have completely pure intentions when you start using it.

An invocation is meant to help you overcome a certain issue. Of course, we don’t demand that you have overcome this issue before you start using the invocation. Then, there would be no point in giving you the invocation. You realize that if you have a somewhat pure intention, there will be an effect from giving invocations and decrees, but the amount of light we release to you individually, will be just enough to help you take the next step on your path. If we released too much light, you would not be able to handle it. When you take that next step, then you have a more pure intention for giving your invocations and decrees and then we can release more light at that level.

This becomes an individual process between you and the masters you are calling to. We look at your lifestream and we release the exact amount of light that you need in order to take the next step. But we do not release more than you can handle at the time. This is, of course, the advantage of working with the ascended masters where it is not so much the outer technique that is creating the response, but you building a relationship with us.

What I am saying here is this, my beloved: When I release an invocation, it is not so that I simply release it to the world and then I don’t pay attention to who is giving it. Whenever someone gives an invocation released by me, there is an aspect of my consciousness that instantly tunes in to that lifestream. Then I am working with that lifestream individually because those of us who are ascended have the capacity of consciousness to tune in to many, many people at the same time. When you are fifty people giving an invocation together, there are several masters who are working with you individually and releasing the exact amount of light that you can handle individually. Of course, we are also multiplying your calls, based on the number of you coming together so that we can then have more of an effect at the collective level than is the amount of light released to you individually.

Again, we do not particularly desire, at this point, to use this messenger to comment on too many specific techniques or teachings or gurus or messengers that are out there. We have various reasons for this and therefore we seek to give you some general directions that you can use to evaluate many different teachings and techniques. One very important measure is, as I said: If a teaching or a technique claims that it can produce an automatic or mechanical response from the spiritual realm, then you know that there is something missing there.

You will also be able to look in general at any technique that claims that it can guarantee any kind of result, even if it is a result in the physical. As we have said so many times, everything is subject to free will. There does come a certain point where, in order to truly overcome a particular condition, whether it be a physical healing or something spiritual or mental or emotional, you have to see something and you have to make a decision to let go of the limited matrix. Therefore, there is a limit to what a guru or a healer or any other practitioner can do for you. You always need to look at people who claim that they can do something for you, and you need to evaluate whether they have a pure intention or whether they have the intention of making you codependent upon them, making you follow them, making you think that you cannot make progress without them.

Truly, a true teacher actually wants you to become free and to become self-sufficient, whereby you go within and you contact your own higher being. You contact the ascended masters from within yourself so that you get healing and direction and enlightenment from that source. What comes to you from the outside truly only has the purpose of stimulating that inner process, of you gaining your own vertical connection to your I AM Presence and the ascended masters. Anything from the outside that attempts to make you codependent on a particular teacher or organization does not have the ultimate pure intention. This is not to say that there are not well-meaning people who have pure intentions as far as they can see but who are not yet aware enough to realize the true process.

You understand, my beloved, that there are many divisions in the material realm and there is a certain tendency for the human consciousness to set itself up as being set apart from either specific other people or teachings, or from other beings in general. There is a tendency that ideas, ideologies, political systems, nations, spiritual teachings, want to set themselves apart and say: “We are so different from all these others, and we can give you something that nobody else can give you and that is why you need to come into our movement, our circle, and then stay there.”

You understand that in the spiritual realm, these divisions do not exist, my beloved. You cannot actually take the divisions that you see in the physical and transfer them to the ascended masters. You cannot say that there are masters that are from the East or that are more working with the East, or masters that are from the West. There are no divisions in the ascended realm. We do not see ourselves as belonging to any particular division you can create on earth. We have ascended because we have transcended all divisions. You will ascend only when you transcend all divisions.

That is why we, in the ascended realm, form a universal spiritual brotherhood, and we have only one goal and that is to set you free individually. Therefore, we have no need to create an organization that sets itself apart and says that we can guarantee you a certain result if you are loyal to the outer organization, the outer teaching, the outer guru. This is not our intention, it never has been, regardless of what some of our students may think. We are not trying to save the world through one particular messenger, one particular guru, one particular organization, or one particular teaching. We are trying to work with all people individually and give them tools and teachings that can help them take the next step on their path, regardless of where they are at.

When you look at the range of consciousness found on earth, you should be able to see that it is not possible to create one teaching or one organization that can help all people. That is why you need to recognize that we actually work with many different people and have worked with many different people throughout the world. Therefore, we have released certain teachings and techniques that were meant to be given at a certain level of consciousness to help people at that level take the next step up.

You need to understand that there is a certain level of consciousness, for example, people who are below the 48th level of consciousness. It is possible for us to release a teaching, tool or technique that can help people below that level. It is possible that there are people in embodiment who can receive that tool or that idea and therefore start spreading it, but those people are not able to maintain a continuous contact with us. You need to recognize that when we release something for that level of consciousness, once we have released it, we have no influence on what people do with it.

Therefore, there are many examples where we have released something that was genuine when it was released, but people have later taken it and turned it into something that allows them to manipulate others. They can take a genuine tool and use it with an impure intention. In many cases, they have also taken the original idea or tool and developed it into something that is in almost direct opposition to the original idea and intention. An obvious example is, of course, how the Catholic church has perverted the teachings of Jesus, but there are many other examples of certain ideas and techniques that have been released by us and that were genuine when they were released. As I said, when the people who receive an idea are not able to maintain a continuous contact with us, then we have no influence on what they do with it.

You understand, my beloved, that even within the last century, we have released very extensive teachings through a limited number of messengers and there are certain organizations that we sponsored for a time. When an organization no longer has a messenger who has direct contact with the ascended realm, then we must set the teaching and the organization free. We have no direct influence on what the leaders and the members of a certain organization do with that organization and with the teaching. We can only hope that they will keep publishing the teaching in the original form because then the teaching is there so that people can find it and use the teaching to make their inner contact with us.

We can also hope that a certain organization will encourage its members to use the teaching and the tools to establish that inner contact with the ascended masters, rather than start following the outer leaders of the organization. Essentially, this is what happened to Christianity. In the beginning stages of the Christian movement, many people understood the need to establish a direct inner personal contact with Jesus. But there was also a certain aspect of Christianity that started emerging that wanted a more doctrinal, unified approach that put more emphasis on the outer organization and a unified doctrine. This is what eventually became the Catholic church, which now suddenly clamped down and said: “We are the only true representatives of Christ and therefore people must follow us and we need to suppress all of the mystical movements out there.” This is the dynamic that has been seen in history over and over again.

You can look at any teaching, any tool, and you can look at: “Is there something of value in it, something that has universal value?” Then you can look at how the people who are promoting it are doing so. Do they have pure intentions? Or do they have an intention of tying you to a certain outer organization? In some cases you can still use the technique, but you can avoid the outer organization and so you need to use your own individual discernment, my beloved. The primary reason we do not want to use this messenger to give you answers about specific teachings is that we want you to use the tools we have given in order to build your personal discernment. We do not want to give you an outer teaching so you say: “Oh I should avoid that teaching because the ascended masters said it did not come from them.” You need to understand that if you had been attracted to a certain teaching, there is a reason for that.

You needed to have the experience of being in that teaching because it was part of your path, it was part of the process of you building your discernment and learning to see what resonates with you, what rings true to you. You can only do this by experimenting. Do you understand that we do not want to use a particular messenger to give you an outer teaching that causes you to not use your discernment?

It is not necessarily so, my beloved, that because you have found this teaching, you should never study anything else. Many of you need to study certain outer teachings in order to have certain experiences that will then help you build discernment. Your path is a very complex path and we do not want you to use the teaching that we have given through this messenger to say: “Oh, now that I have found this teaching from the ascended masters, I can ignore everything else.” You always need to use your discernment to feel whether there is a certain outer teaching that you need to study, because this is part of your individual path.

Again, the teaching we are giving now through this messenger, you need to see it not in an exclusivist term, but to see that this can be sort of the backbone of your spiritual path, but not the only aspect of your spiritual path. If you feel an intuitive urge to study something else, then by all means do so. It doesn’t mean you need to forget about this teaching, but it means that for a time, you may need to be focused elsewhere and then maybe you come back and study this teaching and then you take another step up on your path.

Then you walk this path throughout your life by following your intuition rather than letting your outer mind cause you to create a mental box out of this teaching and say: “Now I will no longer listen to my intuition, for I have decided with my outer mind that I need to stay in this box for the rest of my life.” My beloved, the human mind wants to create boxes out of everything, but you do not ascend by staying in a particular box. You ascend only by transcending all of the boxes created by human beings on earth, created by the fallen beings, or created by your own ego and outer mind.

Did Rumi ascend?

Question:  Did the Sufi poet, Jalal ad-Din Rumi, ascend and achieve oneness with God? He had a tract about the oneness and the love of God.

Answer from the Ascended Master Kuthumi through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

The poet Rumi has not ascended but not because he was not able to, but because he has chosen to re-embody. There are a number of complex reasons for this, but first of all that he had grown to a point where he was able to hold a spiritual balance for the earth and therefore he has chosen to maintain a physical body; not to be a known public person but to live in secret, or in recluse, so that he can hold a spiritual balance while being completely unknown to the outer world.

Are ascended masters from particular nations?

Question:  Are there any ascended masters in Korean history or Asian history?

Answer from the Ascended Master Saint Germain through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

The question has been raised of whether we who are now ascended masters have embodied in many different nations. You know that we have given you various embodiments and in many cases, we have given these embodiments through messengers who were in the Western part of the world and therefore were primarily meant to speak to Western audiences, and appeal to them and get them to understand that we have been in embodiment just like you have. Our intent has been to give you some sense that we too have been in embodiment and therefore we have gone through everything that you have gone through.

Of course, it is impossible to neutralize the effect of the human ego. This has caused many people to take our past embodiments and use them to idolize us and make themselves believe that because we had these special embodiments in the past, we are so far above you and we were even far above you when we were in embodiment.

What I would like you to realize is that even though we have given you a few embodiments, most of us who are ascended today have embodied on earth over a very long time span, sometimes up to two million years of embodiments on earth. It is clear, my beloved, that when you embody for that many times on earth, you are not always an important historical person. You need to recognize that even though we are ascended today, we have had many, many embodiments where we were unknown or ordinary people, however you want to label it.

It is very important that you do not use our talks of past lifetimes to idolize us and make yourselves believe that if you are not an important historical person right now, you cannot ascend after this lifetime, because you can ascend after this lifetime. You understand that many of the important historical people that you see when you look at history, have actually been fallen beings in embodiment because they are the ones who have had the ambition to attain powerful positions in society. You should be very careful not to confuse this so that you think that being an important person in society is the same as having spiritual attainment.

There are many of you in this room who have the same kind of attainment that many ascended masters had in their last lifetime on earth. Therefore, you also have the potential to ascend after this lifetime, regardless of whether you are recognized by human beings or have any position in society. That is not what determines your ability to ascend; it is your state of consciousness.

Now, as I said, we have all had many, many lifetimes and in many of those lifetimes we were not special people, we had no special position in society. Many of us have been embodied in many different nations and among many different groups of people. I myself have been embodied in almost every nation that exists today. Although, when I was in embodiment, for example, in what is Korea today, Korea was not known as the nation of Korea, it was in a previous time. Nevertheless, I want you to understand that almost every nation on earth has had people who embodied there at a certain time and today those people are ascended masters. This is what is important to remember, and, certainly, there have been people who embodied in Korea who are now ascended, but that is the case for most nations.

The fact is that there are certain stages of when a soul takes embodiment on a planet like earth. Most souls go through a period of immersing themselves in life on earth and then, after some time of being very identified with life on earth, you start to become more aware and then you start the upward path that leads towards your ascension. As you are going through this phase where you are working towards your ascension, you often choose to embody in many different areas, in many different societies and many different cultures, because this helps you overcome the identification with earth.

If you embody in the same culture and perhaps with the same karmic group of people for a long time, then you become more trapped in thinking that this is the only way you can be as a human being on earth. You become more identified with that culture, that nationality. When you know that you are working towards your ascension, you deliberately choose to embody in many different situations in order to break up your own sense of identification with the things on earth.

This also means that, in many cases, you will embody as a man for several lifetimes and then embody as a woman for several lifetimes. I know this is a topic that makes many people uncomfortable, but the fact is that those of us who are today male ascended masters have in many cases, many lifetimes as a woman on earth. And those who are the female ascended masters had many lifetimes as a man when they were in embodiment on earth.

You ascend only by overcoming your identification with any particular role here on earth. You do understand that earth is not a high planet, earth is a planet that is very much affected by the duality consciousness. Of course, you cannot ascend without freeing yourself from the dualistic consciousness and this means that many of the roles, many of the identities, that people have built here on earth, are based on duality, are influenced by the fallen consciousness. In order to overcome your identification with these roles, it is very helpful that you embody in many different situations.

That is why we have said to you during this conference that we do not look upon you as Koreans, we look upon you as spiritual beings. We do not look at Americans as Americans, we look at them as spiritual beings and the same holds true for everyone, of course. We do not look at the outer overcoat that you are wearing right now, in a form of your national and even your family identity. We look at who you are as a spiritual being who has a long history, but also has a divine individuality and therefore this is what we seek to work with, to help you overcome your identification with your immediate environment.

We have said before, and it is important to keep this in mind, that it is inevitable that when you are embodied, when you take embodiment on earth, you forget the Divine plan you made before you came into embodiment. You forget who you are as an ongoing being. You are born and you come to identify yourself with your family, your culture, your nationality, but in order to really walk the spiritual path, you need to actually go through a period where you look at this and you come to realize that you are not that outer identity. This is not who you are, this is a vehicle that you chose for this particular embodiment and you need to look at what are the elements of that vehicle that can actually help you grow?

There are always certain positive things you can learn from the culture and the nationality, but there are also certain things you need to overcome, you need to transcend, you need to pull yourself away from and realize: “Oh, I am not actually this kind of a limited being as my culture says that we are.” Every culture has certain limitations that it puts on the members of that culture. Most cultures on earth today, of course, cause people to identify themselves as human beings who have very limited abilities. You need to recognize that this is just an overcoat you are wearing, and you need to take it off and reconnect to who you are as a being who has a very, very long history.

All of you have embodied on earth long before any of the current nations even existed. Therefore, you cannot, if you are in your last embodiment, identify yourself with a particular nation or culture; even with the sex of your body, you cannot identify yourself as an exclusively male or female being. You are a spiritual being who is beyond any of these outer characteristics.

So yes, there are indeed ascended masters from Korean history, but they are not known under the name they had when they were embodied in Korea. They are now known under a more universal name.

Christ consciousness, clairvoyance and riches

Question: I have known a healer who helped me a lot and she healed my trauma and memory. I think she has achieved Christ consciousness, but I see she has been despised even by families and friends. She is suffering from poverty and deficiency in her life. While she is trying her best to save those around her, I wonder why she can’t have economic abundance, is it because she actually didn’t achieve the Christ consciousness?

Answer from the Ascended Master Jesus through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

My beloved, I did not have financial abundance in my last embodiment. This is not to say that you cannot have this if you achieve the Christ consciousness. But what I want you to realize is that achieving the Christ consciousness will not automatically manifest material abundance.

There has, for a very long time, been a tradition that people who devoted themselves to the spiritual path deliberately avoided having material abundance. Now, for many people this can be wise because it helps them stay focused on the spiritual path without being pulled into the challenges that are faced by doing what you have to do to gain material abundance in a world that is so affected by the fallen beings and their manipulation of the economy. But I do not want to in any way say that you cannot have a person with Christ consciousness who has material abundance. What I do want you to be aware of is that for many people, as they attain the Christ consciousness, material abundance fades away and becomes unimportant for them.

However, there are, of course, cases also where people have a certain gift, such as healing, without necessarily having a high degree of Christ consciousness. You see, my beloved, it is important that you do not confuse any unusual gift with the Christ consciousness. Being able to heal people does not necessarily mean that you have the Christ consciousness or at least not a high degree of Christ consciousness. There are many spiritual students, who look at people who are, for example, clairvoyant and think that they must have a highly developed state of consciousness. But it is quite possible to have a certain gift that you have developed in a past lifetime, but in this lifetime you do not have the overall awareness that is the characteristic of the Christ consciousness.

Now, of course, there are different ways to describe the Christ consciousness and it is too big of a topic to really go into depth here. But you need to recognize that an essential ingredient of the Christ consciousness is that you become aware of the  All, you become aware of the whole. You are no longer so focused on yourself and your own situation.

This means many subtle things, but it means that you have an overall awareness that allows you to not become focused too much on specific situations. For example, there are healers who are able to heal others and you see this often in certain Christian churches who have a tradition for healing. But these people have not attained the Christ consciousness, for they do not have this overall awareness of the growth of all life. Therefore, they may look at a specific situation or a specific person that needs healing and they have learned how they can bring about this healing, but they are not bringing it about through the Christ consciousness. They are bringing it about because they have a human ambition of proving that their church and their path works by performing these seeming miracles.

What I am saying here is that you cannot look at all people who have these unusual abilities or gifts and reason that they must have the Christ consciousness, because there is a certain percentage of them that do not have that overall awareness. If you are a healer with a certain level of Christ consciousness, there will be certain people that will come to you and you will not heal them. You will sense that it is not right for you to take away their symptoms when they are not willing to change their consciousness.

Likewise, there can be people who are very aware of not abusing their gift and not using it with a human intention. That is why there are many people who are not willing to take payment for the use of their gifts because they feel they cannot keep the neutral state of mind that is actually the foundation for true healing that comes from the ascended realm streaming through the healer.

There are those who have learned to produce these miracles by taking energy from the four levels of the material realm. But this is not what I call true healing because true healing is when you are the open door for energy from the ascended realm that brings about the healing. This energy, of course, will not be released by us if the person is not willing to shift his or her consciousness.

Question: Was the Urantia book given by ascended masters?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

No my beloved, it was not given by the ascended masters. It came from some beings in the mental realm, who although they do not have evil intentions, are still deceiving people because they are making it seem as if this is a higher truth and sponsored from a higher realm. But it is an example of how beings in the mental realm can create very, very elaborate constructions, very elaborate theories and teachings where they come up with very complex ideas. They can create seemingly new worlds.

You will, for example, see that many of the fantasy books that have become popular in later years actually originate in the mental realm from certain beings. Again, they do not have ill intentions in terms of destroying people or manipulating or controlling people. But they do have the intention of getting energy from people by causing people to put their attention on these very elaborate constructions that take people away from focusing on the situation they are facing in the material world.

It becomes a form of spiritual escapism where many people, because they find it difficult to deal with their physical situation and their karma, they escape into this fantasy world by thinking that there is some ideal society that is waiting to be manifest. Or there is some greater plan and because they are among the few people who know this, they do not have to look at themselves in the mirror, they do not have to make these decisions, they just have to follow that teaching and then somehow magically they will be saved after this lifetime.

This is a form of deceit that is not directly malicious as some of the other theories you find out there that are more dualistic and epic in nature. But it is still a form of deceit that has caused many well-meaning people to go into a blind alley that can keep them there often for a lifetime because they keep studying these mental teachings and they keep  coming up with more and more theories and layers. They feel that they are very advanced students because they understand all of this mentally, but in reality they have not really moved forward on the path because they have not shifted their consciousness upwards.

When your life does not seem to change

Question: I have tried my best to improve my physical, material and spiritual situation. I am feeling that nothing has been changed, so could you give me some advice on how to improve my life. 

Kim: Does it involve using spiritual tools or taking physical measures?

Question: He and people around him tried every method of various religious teachings, for example meditation and some rituals and they didn’t see any result of their devotion to meditation.

It is essential to realize that if your life has not changed, there is something you have not tried. Now, it may be that you have tried many outer things but if nothing has changed, you need to step back and look at the more subtle attitudes and beliefs that you have. You need to look at yourself and ask yourself some questions about how you look at life.

There is a very, very common syndrome that we see in many spiritual and religious people. The syndrome is most obvious in religious people who have been brought up with the traditional concept of God that you find in several Western religions, where God is seen as the remote God in the sky or where I am looked upon as the Divine Mother. We are looked upon as a kind of Santa Claus that has to fulfill your desires and your wishes. There are many, many Catholics who believe that if they go into the church and say some Hail Mary’s and light a candle, then I am supposed to magically appear and solve their problems for them.

We see many, many religious people, who go through an outer exercise and then expect that somehow, by some kind of magic, their lives are going to change. We see in more spiritually aware people that they also believe that doing the outer technique, from meditation to invocations or decrees, should be enough to change their lives, but this is a misunderstanding of what the spiritual path is all about. The misunderstanding actually goes quite deep because first of all it is a failure to understand the significance of free will.

Many, many people who are awakened to the spiritual side of life become awakened because they have a desire to change something in the outer situation. For example, we see people who experience an illness and then they hear about the potential that doing some spiritual practice could help heal them. So they start a spiritual practice for the specific purpose of solving a concrete physical problem. They may want abundance and so they think that giving a certain amount of decrees, invocations or affirmations, will magically bring that abundance into their lives.

When you understand the teachings we have given, you realize that the physical situation you are facing is a product of what is going on in your three higher bodies, your emotional, mental and identity body. In order for you to truly change your physical situation, you have to change what is going on in the three higher bodies. This, of course, is what our teachings and tools are designed to help you do, and if you apply these teachings and tools, you will over time be able to systematically change what is happening in your three higher bodies.

It will for most people take a considerable amount of time, whereby I’m talking several years, perhaps more, perhaps a decade or two decades, to bring major change in the three higher bodies. That is why Jesus told you to possess your souls in your patience by not becoming so impatient that you give up before you see a physical manifestation.

There are many, many people who try a technique, in order to see a specific change, and they have in their mind that this should happen within a certain time frame. Then, if it does not happen, they give up on the technique. Some try another technique, others give up entirely on the entire idea that this can help. You see many people who actually give up before there has been time for the change to be brought through the three higher levels of the mind and into the physical.

Now again, if you apply our teachings, you will be able to come to a point where you have transformed the beliefs, the energies, the wounds in your three higher bodies and now there is no blockage in those three bodies to the manifestation of a change in your outer situation. But there are two things that you need to consider. First of all, if your outer situation involves other people, such as for example your parents and family, then changing yourself cannot always bring about a change in the outer situation.

If the other people are not willing to change, then there may be some practical things that cannot be changed by you changing yourself. There also is the consideration of the free will of the other people. Then you have the option to remove yourself from the situation and thereby bring about a change. But you cannot always expect that the other people will change, and you certainly cannot expect that changing yourself will also change other people. Again, we cannot use your decrees and invocations to override the free will of other people.

Now, the final factor that you need to be aware of is that for there to be certain practical changes in your outer situation, you need to make certain decisions and you need to take certain actions. There are many, many people who believe that once they pray or give invocations to bring about a certain change, then that is all they have to do. Then one day by magic, I, or God or some other master is going to step in and change their outer situation.

When you understand the reality of free will, you realize that your outer situation, as it is right now, is part of your learning process, your growth process. You need to be aware and you need to realize that your outer situation as it is right now, is to a large extent the result of choices you made, often in a past lifetime. You may give the invocations to clear your three higher bodies, but before the change can become physical, there are certain decisions you need to make with your conscious mind. Therefore you need to be willing to look at yourself and look at the patterns you can see in this lifetime, of where you have not been willing to make decisions.

There are many, many times, my beloved, where we see people and the only thing that stands in the way of a change in their life is that there is one decision they are not willing to make. We can also see that they have not been willing to make that decision or that type of decision previously in this lifetime and in many previous lifetimes. You can come to a point where in a past lifetime you have been hurt by making a certain decision, or you were so affected by the consequences of that decision, that you have subconsciously decided that you never again want to make that kind of decision.

There are many, many people, who are actually going through life and they are relating to life, based on this subconscious decision that there are certain decisions they don’t want to make, there are certain experiences they don’t want to have, there are certain consequences they do not want to experience again. They are in reality not willing to take command over their lives, they are not even willing to truly decide: “What do I want in life and what do I have to do to achieve it?” For example (to give you a basic example), there may be people who are so afraid of making a mistake that they do not dare to put themselves in a situation where they are taking an education and they might fail the exam. Yet, these people still have a dream of having a specific type of job, but the only practical way to get that job is to get an education and go through that education.

If you want to become a nuclear physicist, you need to go to a university and study this field. You cannot sit in front of your altar and give rosaries or pray and think that one day, a paper will manifest saying you have a degree as a nuclear physicist. This, of course, applies to many other more ordinary situations in life where we see people who are only separated from, or only prevented from experiencing a change by the fact that there is a decision they do not want to make. They do not want to actually look in the mirror and say: “How do I have to change myself, my attitude, my psychology, in order to manifest this outer change?” They do not want to take command over their lives and therefore they are actually not willing to attain mastery.

There are many spiritual students who have actually been in an ascended master teaching for many years. They have worked on their psychology, they have purified their three higher bodies, they have actually attained a certain level of mastery or attainment. But they dare not physically acknowledge this and act upon it, they dare not claim their mastery, they dare not see themselves as masters, identify themselves as masters and act as masters. This, of course, is something we would like to see people overcome so that you can begin to express the mastery that many of you already have at inner levels. But somehow there is a decision you do not want to make so that you can manifest that mastery and express it in the physical.

Karmic relationships with parents

Question: Is there a destiny that we should go through in our lives? For example; is the relationship between parents and son/daughter a part of  our destiny, and what is the meaning of that relationship?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

“Destiny” is a word that has been abused by many different cultures and by many different peoples. There is no destiny in the way it is normally understood by many people in the sense that something is preordained and is either unavoidable, or is the way it is meant to be. In the physical octave, when you take embodiment here, everything is subject to free will.

Now, we have, of course, taught that you have a Divine plan that you chose before you came into embodiment. It is clear that what you want to do is to increase your attunement with your Divine plan so you can remember it consciously.

There are very few people who can remember their Divine plan after they are born into a physical body because the density of the physical realm (and of all four realms of the material universe) makes it very hard to remember. But the difference here is that the Divine plan, as we teach it, is something that you chose before you came into embodiment. You were not forced by this, although, of course, when you created your Divine plan, you looked at your previous karma, your previous lifetimes, you looked at your psychology and certain momentums you had and you decided what you wanted to overcome, how you wanted to grow in this lifetime. You also decided what gift you wanted to bring.

This is something you have chosen and it is not something forced upon you. We never force you to choose your Divine plan, we simply guide and help you to choose what you decide is best for you. Now, it is clear, that part of your Divine plan is to choose your parents and your close relatives, such as brothers and sisters, even sometimes people you meet and certainly people you end up marrying and the children you might have.

You could say that when you are in embodiment, there is, of course, a certain potential for your relationship with these people. In terms of your parents, for the majority of people in embodiment today, they have chosen those parents because they have karma with their parents. This means that you do not need to look at your parents as beings that you have a long history with, in the sense that you want to stay with them after this lifetime. In many cases, your highest potential is that you transform that karma in this lifetime so you do not have to embody with the same people.

I am not saying that all people chose their parents because of karma. There are certainly examples of people who had a positive momentum of knowing these lifestreams from the past. Therefore, you chose to be their son or daughter in this lifetime. But in general, it is safe to assume that you have some karma with your parents and other relatives. It is therefore important to use the violet flame and our invocations to consume that karma so that you can be free; either to not embody with them in the future, or to do so without having the karma and therefore being able to have a more positive interaction.

It is also a possibility that you can balance your karma with your parents in this lifetime. Therefore, you do not have to have anything to do with them in the sense that you do not have karma to balance. It is possible that you can then change your relationship so you look at your parents differently and decide what positive interaction you want to have with them. It is also possible that you can look at this and you can have an intuitive sense that you have balanced your karma with your parents. Therefore, you are free to move on and it is acceptable for you to make the choice to not have any close relationship to your parents for the rest of this lifetime.

I say this specifically because so many people in Asia have been brought up to think that they have to be loyal to their parents forever, or at least for the rest of this lifetime, but maybe even for future lifetimes. It is important for you to realize that you often embody with people because you have a karmic spiral, but by using the spiritual tools you can transform that energy and that spiral. Therefore, you can be free to move on to embody with people with whom you do not have karma. Or you can be free to ascend after this lifetime, which of course also makes it necessary for you to balance the karma you have with these close relatives.

Multiplication of decrees

Question: We are taught that we have to give decrees 3 times or 9 times. Is there any meaning or reason to giving a particular number of decrees?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016.

When you give a decree more than one time, we are allowed to multiply the decree with a greater factor than the number of times you give it. So when you give a decree three times we can multiply that with more than 3 times. The same when you give 9, and the same when you give for example, 33 or 144 times.

We are not thereby saying that you should give the longer decrees 144 times, but if you give a mantra like the Om Mane Padme Hum 144 times, then there is a certain multiplication factor. This is because there are certain numbers that are important in the manifestation of physical matter. Three, for example, symbolizes the trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Nine times nine is also a sacred number and so forth, you will see that there are many of these numbers that have greater importance. This is not something we have given many teachings about, but it is only necessary for you to know that there is a multiplication factor.

Is this your last lifetime?

Question:  Do you see this as your last lifetime?

Answer from Kim Michaels:

Yes, I do. That doesn’t mean that I claim that I’ve already qualified for my ascension because I think we work on that all of our lives. We work on our psychology, we work on elements of the human consciousness and I constantly see things in myself where I realize: “Oh here’s something, a wound from the past or here’s a wrong belief or an attachment.” It’s almost daily, or at least every week, I see something in myself that I need to let go of, that I need to transcend.

That is why, again, I no longer need to feel that I’m more advanced than others or more important than others. I just don’t have that need anymore. It doesn’t matter to me, we are all here together, we are all  on the spiritual path, and we are all equally important to God and the ascended masters. All this thing about more important and more advanced, it just doesn’t matter anymore.

It’s why I don’t like to put a label on myself. Somebody asked me one time if I thought I was enlightened. But what does it mean to be enlightened? I don’t know. I think part of being in a higher consciousness is that you stop putting labels on yourself. So if you’re saying: “I’m enlightened,” it’s like you still have a need to put a label on yourself and I just don’t feel that need.

Cutting attachments

Question:  Have you ever seen yourself as cutting yourself from any attachment you have here on earth?

Answer from Kim Michaels:

I work constantly on cutting any attachment I have to anything on earth, whether it’s the past, the present or the future, any kind of desires I have. I’m not a vegetarian because I feel that my physical body needs the more dense food. It’s almost like when I work so much with the masters that my attention is pulled up to the spiritual realm, I’ve actually experienced that sometimes you can almost lose your connection to the physical.

I have seen some spiritual people who were so anxious to make progress on the spiritual path that they went to such extremes, whether it was diet or exercise or meditation or whatever, that they almost couldn’t function in their daily lives.

I have realized that the most important thing for my lifetime is to do the work I’m here to do for the masters. Most of the work I do is not taking dictations, it’s also editing them, proofreading them, doing work on the computer, it’s very physical work. In order to be able to concentrate and focus on that, I need some more dense food. I don’t eat very much heavy meat, I eat mostly fish, but I have the principle that when I’m out with other people, whether it’s my family in Denmark or other people, I eat what they serve. I don’t feel like I need to come there and say: “Oh, I’m on a special diet; you have to give me some special food.” I feel like when I’m a guest, I should eat what they offer me and be happy with that.

I’m not saying that other people should do the same thing, but I do feel that we have to decide why we are in embodiment. I remember many years ago when I was quite young, I had been on a meditation course for a month where we had meditated a lot more than we normally do in order to raise our consciousness. So I came home from this course and I was lying on my bed and all of a sudden, spontaneously, I started hearing this noise, a very high vibrating noise. Then, suddenly, I felt like I was out of my body and many people have had these out of body experiences where they experience being in tunnel, and you’re moving in this tunnel. And I was in a tunnel and I felt like I was falling, like you are in free-fall, but the direction was up, so I was falling upwards very, very quickly. Then I started seeing a light at the end of a tunnel and I went into this light, it was like a golden light.

I don’t know how long I was in this light. I don’t know what happened in this light because I don’t remember, but suddenly I came back into my body. I was lying flat on the bed on my back, but when I came back into my body, my body jumped three times on the bed and this is not something you can do with your muscles, it’s just that I came back with such force.

What I realized from that experience was that I’m here to do something in this lifetime, to serve others. I’m here to do something on earth, I’m not here to have a spiritual experience while I’m in embodiment because I can have that after I ascend, I can have lots of spiritual experiences.

So I’m here right now to do something physical, so I need to do what I need to do to be focused and concentrated on my job. That is where I feel that a little bit of denser food helps me not be so spaced out as you see a lot of spiritual people, who are so spacey they can’t focus on practical things and I need to be very practical and focused on a lot of practical things.

Tribute to Ancestors

Question:  In Korea, we have a ritual to pay tribute to deceased ancestors. What is your opinion about that? 

Answer from Kim Michaels:

I think it’s something that belongs to a past age and it’s not part of the Aquarian Age. It ties you to the ancestors and the old ways of doing things. How is a society going to transcend itself when it is so tied to the past? I think it’s something that will gradually fade away in the Aquarian Age. I think the masters will probably actually comment on it, but if you look at it logically, you can go two ways with it, you can either abandon it and say: “We don’t need it anymore,” or you can say: “Who are our true ancestors?” They’re not your parents or your grandparents because what came before them? If you trace your lineage far enough back, you end up with the ascended masters because they are our true ancestors, that’s where we came from as spiritual beings.

I think it’s very, very difficult for society to grow if you are actually so attached to the ancestors. I think it’s actually sort of unhealthy to think that your ancestors are keeping an eye on you and watching and judging your life. I also think that it actually can be unhealthy for the souls of the ancestors. If people are very emotionally attached, it’s like you want to keep your parents there with you, and it can make it more difficult for them to move on.

There are quite a number of books, I don’t know if they are in Korea but in America for example, of people who have had a near-death experience. Do you have that concept in Korea? They’ve actually been physically dead and they have had experiences  and then they come back. Many of them tell the story of how, after your body dies, you are supposed to move on, to move into the identity realm and you often have a rest period and a learning period before your next embodiment. In order to be able to move on and move into the light, you have to be able to let go of your past life and your physical body and also your past family and your society. If you have that very, very strong bond where the children won’t let go of their parents or grandparents, then how can the soul move on?

I think many times they get stuck and this is what the ascended masters call a discarnate soul, a soul that can’t move on so it can re-embody again. It often gets stuck in the astral plane or the emotional realm. Then the soul can get stuck there and it feels like the children have prevented it from moving on and so now it’s trying to influence the children and it becomes a very complicated and very difficult situation. It’s much healthier to let go and the souls of the ancestors can move on and you can move on and be free of the past.

How Kim Michaels started as a messenger

Question:  Could you tell us how the gift of your channelling came about?

Answer from Kim Michaels:

“Yeah, how much time do we have?” (laughter) How did it come about? As a child, I had a very strong intuition. When I was young child, I sensed that there was a  Divine being that was always with me. I didn’t see it as any particular master because I didn’t know anything about masters, but I just knew that there was a Divine, spiritual being that was always there with me. It was a being that never told me what to do or not to do, it was just there and I knew it was there.

It was not like I saw it, like many people see God where they think God is like Santa Claus that has to do what they want him to do. You pray to God, and then he’s supposed to manifest it. I never saw it that way. In a sense, that feeling never left me. Even as a teenager, where of course I was exposed to all the intellectual, scientific reasoning, it never left me—the awareness and the absolute experience that there is a spiritual reality to life.

Growing up, my parents were not religious and there was nothing in my society in Denmark that stimulated my spiritual interest. I always had lots of questions but nobody could really answer them. I remember when I was 13, I was going through my confirmation and we had a priest come to our classroom in school. He was supposed to tell us about the Bible and Jesus and I was excited because I thought, surely, the priest must be able to answer some of my questions. But I realised very quickly that he couldn’t. He didn’t answer my questions and it was because he had not thought about these topics. I was very, very surprised because how can you be a priest and not have thought about spiritual questions? He was just satisfied with what the church gave him as answers and he didn’t think about it beyond that.

I was always thinking a lot. When I was 18 I found the book by Paramahansa Yogananda, Autobiography of a Yogi. It was very important for me because suddenly I realised that for thousands of years, people had been seeking answers to all these questions. It was very, very helpful to me. At the same time, I also met some people that were involved with Transcendental Meditation. I went into that, and it was helpful to me for a while. They had a teaching that was helpful to me and the meditation was also helpful to me for a while.

But there were still a lot of questions that they couldn’t answer. I felt that I was born in the West and I needed a Western spiritual teacher. It wasn’t so much a matter of East and West, it was more that I realized that I was born in a scientific age and I needed a teaching that talked about science and the scientific way of thinking:  logical, rational, something I could grasp and understand.

Then I heard about a teaching that was given by the ascended masters and it was in an organisation called the Summit Lighthouse. It was very, very helpful to me and very, very inspiring. What really struck me about the ascended masters was that they are not like a guru who is in embodiment and needs something from you. He needs to have followers, some gurus need money. I realized that the ascended masters don’t need anything from us. That was a very, very important thought. I realized they don’t want to control me, they don’t want to manipulate me. I also realized that they have transcended the human ego so they have no power plays, they have no need to manipulate. I thought that was very, very important, that was the kind of spiritual teacher I wanted.

It’s not because I have any problems with human leaders but I realized that as long as we are in embodiment, we are still human, we may have human interests and this and that. I wanted a spiritual teacher who was beyond that. That’s why I don’t present myself as a spiritual teacher today. I don’t have an organisation where I’m the leader of this organisation because for me, the ascended masters are what’s important.

What I also found very important there was that the masters need someone to speak through. Because of the Law of Free Will and because we have such a long history. Archangel Michael  mentioned the Catholic church, and the Catholic church is just one example of a religion that has created the situation where we who are the people cannot contact God directly. We have to go through the church and the hierarchy of the church. I knew even as a child that this wasn’t right. As a child, I experienced the spiritual being and I didn’t need anybody, I didn’t need a priest to access this, it was something I experienced in myself. So that was very important for me. I realized that because we have such a long tradition of people denying this, of the authorities, the power elite, denying that we can contact God directly, the masters do need messengers to speak through and give a bigger teaching. Like Archangel Michael said, each of us individually can work with the masters. There’s no question about that. That is really the central message of my teachings, I also realized that some of us have as part of our Divine plan, different roles to play and part of my role was to bring forth more teachings.

It actually started in 2001 when I had this experience where saw that a lot of my striving on the spiritual path had been driven by a human ambition. I wanted to do something that I felt made a difference. When I was very young, I knew there were a lot of things that were wrong on the earth, that we needed to change society and I wanted to help that. When I found the masters’ teachings, I was very eager to decree and give invocations and study the teachings because I wanted to make a difference.

I realised that my desire to make a difference was a human ambition. I came to a point where I saw that human ambition and I surrendered it. It was like something deep within me just let go. I have described this before, I fell to my knees and I said: “God, you can take me home right now.” I really felt that if I had died at that moment, I had no ambition of doing anything on earth. I could leave the earth behind without any regrets, without any feeling that: “Oh, I wish I had done this, I wish I had been famous, I wish I had been recognized,” or anything like that. I had no desire like that.

That was when I felt that Jesus was there, his Presence was there in the room with me, and he asked me if I was willing to do something for him and that was the Ask Real Jesus website. It was really unique that Jesus was answering people’s questions; it’s never been done before and so that was how it started. I started getting questions from people and Jesus would give me the answer and I would put it on the site. But then I also started getting longer dictations, first from Jesus and then next from Mother Mary. It took me a while to start working with other masters, so it started that way, very gradually.

It would have been very easy for me to use the outer rational mind to say: “Oh this can’t be real.” There’s a lot of questions: “Why me?” In the Summit Lighthouse, for example, they had a messenger at the time and then she retired before I started being a messenger. But they still had a culture that there was only one messenger. I could have easily said that this is not something I can do.

When I experienced the Presence of Jesus, it was so real that I realized that this was part of my Divine plan. This was something I had decided to do before I came into embodiment. I could not allow myself with my outer mind to deny that, and that’s why I started doing it. In the beginning, you are always sort of very concerned about: “Are you doing the right thing?” But it didn’t take me very long to come to a point where I realized that this is what I agreed to do. This is what I love doing, and I love serving the masters and I love helping other people. There just comes a point where all of that falls away and now you’re just focused on doing what you are here to do.

Can people quote the teachings?

Question:  Thank you for coming to Korea. I’ve been a pastor for the past 32 years and I’ve been studying the bible extensively. I have been studying and learning much about the Christ. I realise that it’s Christ consciousness in this sense in this arena and I was wondering how much am I allowed to use  quotations from the ascended masters’ remarks in our teachings. 

Answer from Kim Michaels:

As much as you want, as long as you have a reference to where it comes from. The masters welcome it when you use their teachings in different contexts. Obviously, Jesus has said a lot of things and other masters have said a lot of things about the true meaning of Jesus’ teachings and the true meaning of a lot of bible quotes. You are free to use that really any way you want.

If it’s appropriate, you can leave a footnote where you give where it came from, but you are also welcome to use the ideas where you don’t even have to give a footnote, but you can just use an idea. The masters want to get their ideas out and awaken people, and it’s not really a matter of me taking credit for them. But if you feel it’s appropriate, then give a footnote because then people can go to the source and find more.

How the masters work with us

Question:  When you receive messages  from the ascended masters, do you feel the masters all the time or at a certain time. How do you control when you  hear messages from the masters? 

Kim:  You mean, do I hear them all the time or only when I take a dictation?

Question:  Yes.

Answer from Kim Michaels:

No, I don’t hear the masters all the time. When I take a dictation, I always know when the masters want to say something and then I set aside the time, like here. In my daily life, of course, I don’t hear the masters all the time. You have to understand that the masters, like Archangel Michael said, don’t want to control anybody. They don’t want to interfere with our free will.

So my role,  when I take a dictation, is really to bring forth the teachings that the masters want to bring forth. In that case I am, of course, setting aside my own desires and needs or thinking. I try to be just an open door and let them speak through me. Also, of course, I am person like all of you. I am walking the spiritual path, I am living a practical life. There are many aspects of my practical life where I have to make my own decisions. It’s not so that the masters are telling me everything I need to do or how to do it. In fact, they interfere very little with my personal life.

Of course, it doesn’t mean I can do anything I want or that I do anything I want, but there are many decisions that they want me to make. I’m not different from you in the sense that I don’t claim to be enlightened, I don’t claim to have any special spiritual attainment that sets me apart from you. I’m walking the spiritual path just like you are, I have my initiations and I sometimes make mistakes just like we all do. It’s part of the path that we learn. It sounds, in a sense, it sounds silly to say that my relationship to the masters is not different than yours, but in a sense my personal relationship in my personal life is not different from yours.

You can also work on having attunement with the masters in your own life where you feel like you are connected to the masters and you are getting input from them. But you will not actually connect to the masters if you expect them to tell you what to do. I have seen some examples of people who had some connection to the masters, but it was like they didn’t want to make their own decisions, they wanted the masters to tell them: “Don’t do this” or “Do this.”

The masters may do this for a while, but sometimes what they will do is, they will give people so many directions that they can’t follow all of them. They want people to come to the point where they make their own decisions. I’ve actually seen some examples of people who either didn’t want to make any decisions unless the masters told them to do it, which means they couldn’t live a normal life because they couldn’t do anything. Or they thought the masters were telling them what to do, but it wasn’t actually the ascended masters, it was false masters who were trying to control these people.

The only way to really work with the ascended masters is to recognize the importance of free will. This means that there are some decisions you have to make. Now, what the masters can do for you, is they can give you a frame of reference. With that I mean that my relationship to the masters is basically that I know their vibration. It’s difficult to explain, but it’s like, if I’m making a decision in my personal life, I can feel if it’s a decision that’s in harmony with the masters or if it’s not in harmony with the masters. I can sense this and I think all of you can learn to sense this.

This means that if I’m doing something that isn’t right according to the masters, then I can feel that—if I’m open to it. But you also have to realize that there are many, many decisions in our daily lives and it’s not like the masters are sitting there judging this. Because they know that we are capable of making these decisions and it’s not like we make wrong decisions or right decisions.

I met people who thought that if you were doing the will of God, there was only one thing you could do. It was like, if I was going to the door down there, there was a strict line that I had to follow that was the will of God and only if I was following that line, was I doing the right thing. If I stepped to the side, I was doing something wrong. That is not the way it is. There are many ways to get to that door and it may be that if you are to get to the door, you will have to talk to this person and that person and that person before you get there. There is nothing wrong with that. We each have our individual way to follow.

So you could say that what the masters will do is they will give you some borders, they can give you a sense if you are stepping too far off your path. Then, you can sense that, you can sense there’s something here that’s not right, you can learn to sense that intuitively. But within these borders, the masters leave you free to do what you want to do and in many cases it doesn’t matter. You can make a choice and it’s a right choice, you could also make another choice that is also right.

That is why we have to be very careful that we don’t use the masters in these power plays that Archangel Michael talked about. I have known people who wanted another person to do something and they would tell them: “Archangel Michael told me to tell you that you should do this.” That’s not the way the masters work. You don’t want to use the masters to be like in some religions where they say God will judge you if you do something wrong and you try to scare people. That’s not the way the masters work, they give us a lot of freedom.

That was a long answer, but it’s important for us to realize that the masters give us a lot of freedom to make our own decisions because that’s how we learn. Its like when we were children and we were on a playground and our mother was sitting on a bench. She had taken us to the playground because it was safe and as long as we stayed on the playground, we would be safe. Then, our mother would let us go and play and she wouldn’t interfere, but we would know that she was there if we needed her. That’s kind of how the masters are.

Spiritual escapism

Question: I’ve seen that in myself and in spiritual communities people are like escaping from the material world with spiritual practices, it’s like spiritual escapism and developing hatred of the Mother, can the ascended masters comment on this?

This is indeed one of the biggest hindrances for the raising of the consciousness of the planet. We do of course understand that when you are a spiritual student (when you begin the spiritual path you begin to study spiritual teachings; you begin to practice whatever practice you are doing), you are engaging in an alchemical process. Many students do not quite understand what this means. It means that you will flush out what is in your subconscious mind. Just as when you go on a physical cleansing of your body you will flush out certain toxins from your body and it can affect you emotionally and mentally, the same happens spiritually. So many people when they are relatively new to the path, they think first that everything is going to be comfortable and easy and wonderful. Then, when they hit one of these difficult moments where they are confronted with some psychological issue, then they get scared.

They do not want to face the issue, they do not want to deal with the issue. That is when they then go into trying to use a spiritual teaching or practice to escape dealing with the pain. They somehow think that it should be possible to have spiritual growth without pain. Now, we have given many teachings, I have given teachings in my Course in Abundance  that will help you shift your attitude so you can have spiritual growth without pain. But you can never have spiritual growth without facing your personal issues. All you can do is shift yourself into a mindset where you do not expect that this will be easy, comfortable or without any pain or without any effort on your part, for you are willing to do the work. This is, of course, the point that all who are ascended master students have come to. If all who are spiritually awakened (awakened to the spiritual path) could come to that point as well, even if they don’t join an ascended master teaching, then much more progress could be made.

It is a perfectly true observation that far too great of a percentage of spiritual students are into various forms of escapism. It does not help them grow individually but it does not help the planet grow either. It is a major challenge for us because when a person is awakened to the spiritual path, there is always an ascended master who is giving that person a certain gift of spiritual energy that allows them to raise their consciousness to the level where they can recognize that there is something more, there is a spiritual path. The idea is (and the law of course requires) that what the student has given must be multiplied before more can be given. There is a limit to how many people on the planet we can sponsor when they do not multiply the gift.

We have talked about a certain structure where you have certain people that are tied to you and they cannot in many cases raise their consciousness beyond what you do to yours. If you are not multiplying the gift you have been given from the ascended masters, we cannot give to those below you because they are not able to rise up and receive it. This spiritual escapism really stops the acceleration of the collective consciousness.

Much of spiritual escapism comes from the fact that people have believed in false promises, that promise you an easy and comfortable way to growth. You can come to a point, and this is what we have talked about, where you are flowing with the River of Life but you can only come to that point by adjusting your attitude. You can only adjust your attitude, by looking at your attitude, looking at your psychology. You can only shift your current attitude by looking at your current attitude, by looking at the psychology behind it, the wounds, the hang-ups you have. In the beginning, this will be painful.

Now, it should be noted that there are many New Age, spiritual people out there who do not have the tools to make the process less painful because they do not understand the importance of invoking spiritual light. We have given the invocations and decrees because we know that when you start invoking light, it will transform some of the energy in the emotional body that makes it painful to confront your psychological issues. Therefore, it can be less painful than if you do not invoke light. If you are confronting an issue and you have not invoked light to transform some of the energy, then it will be very painful and sometimes overwhelmingly painful. That is then when people get scared from the pain, they want to avoid the pain and they go into escapism.

Pain in the psychological area (whether it is in the emotional, mental or identity body), pain in the three higher bodies is caused only by energy. This means that it can be transformed, you can transcend the pain by transforming the energy. If there is a physical pain, if you have a nail in your shoe, then obviously you need to stop and pull out the nail, it is not a matter of giving decrees until the pain stops. Concerning the three higher bodies, you can invoke spiritual light to transform the energy and then you can look at an issue with less pain and so there is no need for escapism. We can say that escapism is simply because people don’t know how to walk the path without pain, don’t know how to transcend the pain, don’t know how to work through the pain and resolve it. They haven’t understood that sometimes you need to take a confrontation with your past momentums and wounds. I will be unpleasant on a temporary basis, but it will give you greater freedom for the rest of your life, so they seek the freedom from pain by dulling their minds.

Now, I know there are some people who use chemical substances and think this will give them spiritual growth but it cannot give you actual, long-term spiritual growth. It may show you there is an alternative state of consciousness but you can easily learn that through other means as well. If you continue to use a chemical substance beyond a certain point, then it will actually dull your spiritual faculties, dull your mind and you will become either physically or at least emotionally dependent upon it.

Harmful vibrations from your environment

Question: For the past six months I have been living in a Faraday cage. I have a house that is nearby. I don’t know the word in English but the Zen Master nearby said it is for the radiation of cell phone towers. Where I live is isolated and so I have special venting. I do this because a friend of mine did it because he lived under cell phone towers and he became very ill. Now I am living  in it. It is also on the floor (the Faraday cage) and I have a problem with my eyes. Sometimes when other people come they say it is very dry. And now I think oh my God, is it good what I have done? I always have cold feet and it relates to what you said about free will, we have free will to do things and especially society. Did I do too much, am I destroying myself because the house is not breathing? (Another student adding to the question:  When you block the earth you are separating yourself, the electrons aren’t coming up through your body, in the first  instance I would not put any shielding on the floor blocks, keep your bare feet on the earth. I am thinking about grounding.) But I am very sensitive. 

Kim: so how close are you living to those cell towers?

Student: very close 1-2 streets.

It is clear that there are certain vibrations that are not healthy and it is clear that the actual best solution to such problems, is to move away from the source of the radiation. The further you can increase the distance, the better it will be for you. It is also true that by insulating and isolating yourself from the earth, you are actually affecting your energy field and your physical body in a way that is not positive in the long run. There are better ways to protect yourself than to isolate yourself completely. When you look at what I  said about diet, you need to decide that you are living in a friendly universe. Therefore, you take certain practical measures, but you do not take such extreme measures that you isolate yourself completely.

It is true that there are some practical solutions that can help you, but you need to also be open to the possibility that there are some times where moving is simply the only possibility. I am speaking here generally because, as we said, we do not want to give you specific personal directions from an external source but we will give it to you individually from within. So pursue other measures and see if they can help you, otherwise consider moving.

Question: is it possible to protect it with a tube of light around it with the violet consuming flame inside it? 

Mother Mary continues: We have over the many years we have given messages, seen students react in many different ways. What we always seek is to help you avoid going into any extreme. We always seek to help our students find balance. There is a balance where you realize that invoking spiritual light, invoking your protection, can shield you from many things, but there are certain physical things where it is not enough to invoke light. You also need to take a practical, physical measure.

There is a joke that has been told by some ascended master students for many years that there was a person who was driving down the freeway and had a flat tire. He sat in his car for three hours and gave decrees, thinking this would somehow bring a solution and finally he got out of his car and changed the tire. You see, my beloved, invoking spiritual light is not a substitute for taking practical, physical action.

You can, of course, use spiritual protection, you can take certain measures to protect yourself from vibration, but there does come a point where you have to tune in and say: “Do I simply need to remove myself from this situation?” You realise, of course, that you are living in a friendly universe but there are certain points in that universe that are more friendly than others.

Food and diet

Question: What is the importance of food and diet, how it is affecting our bodies?

What we have seen so many times over the years from spiritual students, is that you grow up in a society that is not particularly aware of many issues. Food and diet is just one issue among many. Then, you go through a certain awakening and you are aware that there is a spiritual path, there is more to know. And then people go through a phase where they are very focused on certain aspects of the path and one of them is, of course, what they eat and how this affects their bodies. There are many people that go through a phase where they are very focused on the body, doing various exercises, working with their diet and this and that. This is perfectly valid and a natural stage on the path. If you are at that stage, you simply need to focus on whatever appeals to you intuitively.

Now, one thing we see continually is that many spiritual students are awakened because they find a particular teaching. Now they use that outer teaching to decide, with their outer minds, how they are going to live their lives. This may be, for example, diet. There are many spiritual teachings that recommend a certain diet and so people decide: “I am going to follow this diet.” This is valid for a time because when you are relatively new to the path, you need to experiment, you need to try different things and gain experience whereby you build your discernment.

We have in previous ascended master organisations given directions about diet. We are not doing it right now as you might notice. The reason for this is that there comes a point on the path, where you need to tune in to your body, your individual body. You cannot decide with your outer mind: “I am going to follow this diet and I’m going to do this for the rest of my life because my spiritual teacher said so.” This can be beneficial for a time, but there also comes a point where you need to say: “But what does my particular body need at this particular point in my growth process?”

There is hardly any of you who, for example in your early twenties, could choose a diet and it would be beneficial for you to stay on that diet for the rest of your lives. Hardly anyone can do this because when you are a spiritual student, you raise your consciousness so quickly that there will come a point where your body simply needs a different diet in order to accommodate your spiritual growth. What we are looking for at this stage of the revelation we are giving is that people use our teachings to work on their psychology and to achieve attunement.  Then, you use your attunement to determine what diet works for you—if any diet. Some of you don’t need a particular diet.

I would like to say that we have talked about hatred of the Mother, we have talked about how many spiritual students have not fully accepted that you are in physical embodiment. You have not fully made peace with the fact that you are in physical embodiment because of the birth trauma, because of the shock of seeing what is going on on this planet. We understand this, we understand the difficulty of this, but as you work on your birth trauma, as you work on your psychology, there comes a point where you need to make peace with your physical body. You need to actually accept that you are in the physical body. You need to realize that you are only in this body for a time. It may feel like it’s a long time, but I can assure you that once you are out of the body and have the perspective that you have, out of the body (even if you are not ascended), you will see that one embodiment is just a brief moment in the ongoing process that is your being.

You can gain some of that perspective and say: “I accept I am in this body and it is just for a time. But while I’m here I am going to make the best of it, I’m going to make the best of the body I have right now because I want to make maximum spiritual progress in this lifetime and I also want to manifest my Divine plan.”  Getting to the point where you are fully accepting your body is very important. It is also important to go beyond it and come to the point where you actually love your body. Can you love every part of your body? Can you love every cell in your body?

Why is there a growth in cancer my beloved? It is the cells destroying themselves, but it is because the cells don’t feel loved by the person, the being, inhabiting the body. There is a need to love your body and mind you, this, my beloved, it is not a matter of only loving the body when it is perfectly healthy and not bothering you.

The real challenge is if you are ill; if you have certain chronic conditions. Love your body anyway!  Love the cells, love the organs, love that body. This is actually much more important than a physical diet. When you get to the point where you accept your body and you love your body, you are much better able to tune in to the body. When you do not accept the body, the body is almost like something you are resisting and you cannot tune in to what you resist. Resistance and attunement are opposites and so when you get to the point of acceptance and loving your body, you can tune in and say: “What does my body need?”

I would also encourage you to work on getting to a point where you realize that of course there are many issues in the world that can harm your body, there are many kinds of food and chemicals and pollution that can harm your body and you need to be somewhat aware of this. You need to not take in certain substances and certain pollutants if you can possibly avoid them. I would like to point out to you that when a body is functioning at what should be its normal capacity, your physical body is actually an alchemical instrument. It is possible to take in certain substances and they do not affect your body because your body can transform it.

What I am saying with this is not that you should not be careful. I am not telling you to eat anything you want, even though yogis of a certain attainment can eat anything without having it harm the body. That is not what I am saying. I am saying: “Do be careful, but do not be overly careful. Do not be fanatical about diet.” First of all, I am telling you to consider this: “Are you living in a hostile universe or a friendly universe?”

You can look at planet earth, you can look at all the imperfections, you can look at this problem and this pollution and this toxic thing and that; and you can get into a state of mind where you think that the matter realm, the Mother realm, is hostile to you. It is out to get you, it is out to harm your body or yourself.

What I would encourage is to take Saint Germain’s teaching on making an alchemical shift in consciousness and accepting the Golden Age, accepting how the Golden Age can be manifest. Ask yourself this: “Can the Golden Age be manifest in a hostile universe?” Nay, it requires a friendly universe. You can then make the alchemical shift in consciousness: “I am living in a friendly universe. I am living in the Mother realm and the Mother realm will not harm me when I exercise due caution. It is possible that there are certain things I can take in that might be harmful to some people, but I do not need to be overly concerned about it because my body can transform it.”

You see, you go into a state of mind that is not based on fear, not based on doubt, but you go into a state of mind where you are living in a friendly universe. You are flowing with the River of Life and you allow yourself to actually enjoy life. You can even go into a state where you begin to evaluate  – when you come across a certain diet or a certain idea of what you should eat or not eat – you can actually centre yourself in the heart, you can tune in to my Being and you can ask me very simply: “Mother Mary, will this make a difference or will it not?” If you are attuned, you will know that if it will make a difference, you will get a raising feeling in your heart chakra. If not, you will get a sinking feeling in your heart chakra. If implementing something does not make a difference for you, why worry about it?

You can also get to a point where you are so attuned to your body that you do not need to have in your outer mind, a rigid scheme for what you should eat or not eat. You are just tuning in: “What does my body want to eat?” You will know that there are many women who while they are pregnant get a craving to eat a certain kind of food. Now, in some cases this may be a lower craving, but in most cases it is because the woman is actually attuned to the soul that is coming in. The soul, in order to be more integrated with the physical octave, needs the vibration from a certain type of food and the same thing happens all the time. There may be a period where for some reason that you do not necessarily know with your conscious mind, you need to take in a certain kind of food because your body needs it to get to a certain stage.

You understand, my beloved, that ageing is actually caused by the body not following the natural process. We have said that ideally the natural process for your mind, for your soul, should be that you are raising your consciousness throughout your lifetime. The natural state for your body is that your body is constantly also being transformed into a higher and higher state. In an ideal world, which you are too far from at the present to manifest it, but in an ideal world your body would not age at all. It would not necessarily become younger but it would become transformed in a positive way, throughout your lifetime, in step with the raising of your consciousness.

Instead, you have all come to believe in the illusion created by the fallen beings that your body must age and die of disease or old age. So many times, you are not actually aware that your body is not a fixed entity that can only deteriorate, your body is actually a process that can grow all the time. It goes through certain stages and at some stages you may need a certain type of food or a certain diet. Therefore, you give it to your body, instead of overriding your body’s tendency with the mind.

You can also come to a point where you recognize that sometimes you, for whatever reason that you don’t need to analyze, feel like eating a certain food and then you eat it. It gives you enjoyment. Something that gives you enjoyment very rarely harms your body unless it contains some toxic substance that you are not aware of. We are encouraging you to have a less rigid, more intuitive approach to diet. So many people have an intellectual, analytical approach to diet. When you raise your awareness, you can have an intuitive approach to diet and this is what we know you are capable of when you are using the tools and the teachings we have given.

Divine direction and creative flow

Question: Beloved Masters it is amazing that I am here now at the right time at the right moment. I understand so many things that you have said and my question is “what can I do more?”

Kim: Just in general, the masters don’t give personal messages through me so what you’ll get is an answer that also applies to other people and what everybody can do.

You can always do more. This can bring you into a state of consciousness where you never feel you are doing enough and that is not what I or any of us are asking of you. We are asking you to look at your personal background, your personal experience and then realize that you have gone through the experiences you have had in your life for a reason. Some experiences you have in your life are just an outplaying of karma, or something you needed to see for your own psychology. For the vast majority of those of you who are spiritual students, you have gone through most of the experiences in your life also because there is a component where you can use that experience to help others.

You can build on your personal experience, you can use it in many different ways. It may be writing a book, it may be in your work, it may be just talking to other people, it may be in your family, but you can use your own experiences. You need to realize that whatever you have gone through, whatever you have studied, whatever you have learned, it is always enough that you can use it to help others and in helping others you are doing more.

You do not need to look at: “Is what I’m doing now enough, could I do more?” What you are doing now, what you are now, is sufficient to help others and in helping others you create the more. Then, down the road you will know how to do other things and your life becomes a flow where instead of worrying about: “Am I doing the right thing, am I doing good enough?” you are simply flowing from one thing to the next, effortlessly without ever worrying about making a mistake, without ever evaluating: “Is it good enough or not good enough.” You simply flow from situation to situation and you are always looking at: “How can I, given who I am, what my experience is, how can I help others?”

When you have a particular expertise and experience in a certain field, it is obvious to use that experience. You may also come to a point in your life where you realize you need to go in a different direction. Because the field you were into does not really allow you to help people the way you feel moved to help them. This is really not a matter of getting an outer direction, this is a matter of getting an inner direction where you go within and you know from within.

I can tell you, my beloved, that it is perfectly natural that spiritual students want us to give them some kind of direction. You could all benefit from having our direction, but you would actually not benefit from having direction from an external source because you are all capable of getting that direction from inside yourself through your intuitive faculties.

Let me tell you this again: When you are a sincere spiritual student, when you have been willing to work on your own psychology, then you are at a point right now where you are capable of getting our direction of what is the next step. We will not give anybody the full clarification of what they are ultimately meant to do in life, or the full vision of what they are going to do for the rest of their life. We work by giving people directions: “What is the next step?” Then, when you take that, you get the next direction that takes you a step further. That is how Divine direction works, it is not a matter of having total clarity ahead of time.

Alchemy, my beloved, really is a matter of: You tune in to the consciousness behind the substance you want to transform. In its most simple form, as you have heard so many times that it is a cliché, if you want to transform lead, you need to tune in to the consciousness behind lead. Then, you need to tune in to the Christ consciousness, allow the Christ consciousness to flow into the lead and thereby it is transformed.

This can be as a general principal applied to any aspect of your life. You tune in to your own consciousness right now, you tune in to the Christ consciousness, allow it to flow into your consciousness and then you will be accelerated to the next level. You will have the vision of what is the next step and then be willing to take that step. That is how you anchor the transformation in the physical and now you have come up higher. Now, you can receive the next direction and this is what becomes this flowing process where you effortlessly flow with the River of  Life because you are willing to take one step at a time, without worrying about what is too far ahead.

Ideally, you can look at many creative people who have not known ahead of time what new ideas should be brought forth, but they have focused their attention on a certain issue. They have focused their attention on it until they have tuned in to the consciousness behind the issue. Then they have let go because the more tension you create, the more you block the flow of the Christ consciousness. When they have let go, then they have received an impetus and then they have dared to act upon it.

This messenger does not know what we are going to say through him a year or ten years from now. He does not demand to know, he takes one step at a time, looks at the next teaching, the next book, the next conference and just flows with it, without demanding any particular attention or knowledge or vision of what is going to happen. This actually is liberating because you avoid all of these considerations: “Is it right, is it wrong, is this what I should be doing, is there something else I should be doing?” Wherever you are, there is something you can do and when you do that, you move forward and then there is something else and instead of being behind you are just flowing with life.

What is the rapture?

Question: Can Jesus maybe speak deeper on what is called “the rapture” that Christians believe in. It’s a thing that I never heard before though I was raised a Christian. But maybe two years ago I for the first time heard about that idea.

Kim: So basically the idea of the rapture is that there will come a point where people’s physical bodies will be raised into heaven. And there is even a series of popular books about it that talk about how this event will happen. All of a sudden, some people are just taken and all that’s left is a bunch of clothes on the chair. And their bodies are then resurrected into heaven.

It is not a reality whatsoever, but again a creation of the fallen beings in the mental realm who are using certain Christian fundamentalist groups to create this confusion. My beloved, what would be the use of a physical body in heaven—seriously?

You are talking about a difference in vibration that is so huge that the physical atoms would literally disintegrate and be blown apart if your physical body was transported into the vibrational spectrum of the ascended realm. There is no way that a physical body could exist in that level of vibration.

You also have no need of a physical body in the ascended realm. You have a higher body that has much broader capabilities than you have in the physical realm. This whole idea, not only of the rapture but also other Christian movements that believe that at the end times, all physical bodies will be physically resurrected and will live on in heaven, is also a complete fabrication of the fallen beings.

It is aimed at creating what Lanto talked about, these schemes that take up people’s mental energy and simply allow that energy to be stolen by the dark forces. Think about the logical consequence of you having a physical body in heaven. Would you all walk around naked? Or would you still have clothes in heaven? What would be the fashion in heaven? What would be the trend this year, is it black, is it blue?

You see, my beloved, this is an example of how (for thousands and tens of thousands and millions of years) human beings on earth have used conditions on earth to project onto God and the spiritual realm, projecting that they want God to conform to the conditions in the material realm. This is the Satanic consciousness that I addressed when I said to Peter: “Get thee behind me Satan.” It is the consciousness that wants Spirit to conform to current conditions in matter. You do not need a physical body, you have a much more beautiful, much more capable body in the ascended realm.
