Question: What does it mean for the ascended masters to serve the unascended spheres, especially on earth? Do they do it because they have an affection for earth, or do they do it simply because serving on earth helps them grow in the heavens? After you ascend, you will have many choices, and you may have a different experience without maintaining a balance on earth. How do cosmic beings who are connected to earth do so?
Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2023 Kazakhstan Conference.
Well, you need to recognize here that the ascension is a very distinct process. The change you go through is distinct. You may say that, as we have said before, that you rise towards the hundred and forty-fourth level of consciousness, and you are becoming more and more free of the earthly consciousness, and you are, in a sense, approaching the ascended consciousness. And you may say that the step from the hundred and forty-fourth level to the ascended state is not such a big leap. You can, as we said yesterday, flow into the ascended state. And this is true. It seems like the jump from the ascended state becomes less and less as you approach the hundred and forty-fourth level.
Yet, when you have ascended, it is a distinct change. It is not exactly the same as when a person’s body dies. But it is, in some ways, comparable, because when the body dies, there will, at least for the more aware people, there will come that moment of truth, moment of realization: “I am no longer in a physical body, and I cannot go back to that life that I had.” And it is the same when you ascend. You realize you will never go back into embodiment on earth. And suddenly you also see the immense opportunities in the ascended realm that are beyond earth. And these opportunities you cannot really grasp while you are still in a physical body.
You could say that at the hundred and forty-fourth level, it is a relatively small step to ascend, yet after you have ascended, you can now see something you could not possibly see before. Even when you are at the hundred and forty-fourth level, you cannot fully see what you see once you ascend.
Where I am going with this is that after you ascend, you experience in a deeper way that you can do, even at the hundred and forty-fourth level, the oneness of all life. And this means you now feel a love for all life that it is difficult to feel while you are in embodiment on earth. Out of that love, there are those who decide: “I want to stay with earth and help unascended beings on earth.” And there are also those who decide, and again it can be out of love: “I want to move somewhere else in all the opportunities I have and as an ascended master.”
When you say, for example, that is it simply because serving on earth helps them grow in the heavens, this is an understandable viewpoint from a person in embodiment. But it is not actually how you look at it after you ascend, because after you ascend, you are not focused on growing as a distinct or separate individual in the ascended realm. You are focused on raising the whole. And I know when I say ‘raising the whole’, it is just words to most people in embodiment. It is just a concept. But when you ascend, it is an experience.
It is not so that after I ascended, for example, I said to myself: “Mother Mary, how can you now make yourself the most advanced ascended master you could imagine? How could I make myself better than Jesus or the Buddha?” You do not even think this way after you ascend. You simply realize, you experience that you are connected to all life. And in the ascended realm, you are not seeking to raise yourself in connection or in comparison to others. You are seeking to raise all life.
What happens after you ascend is you focus your attention on some aspect of life. This could be planet earth. It could be a specific group of people on planet earth. Or it could be another planet, a natural planet, another unnatural planet, or even the ascended realm. And you focus your attention there and you say: “I want to serve to raise life there.”
Now while you are still in embodiment, it is natural and it is necessary that you look at yourself as a distinct individual. You look at the collective consciousness. You see that it is lower. And you see the need to raise yourself beyond that. Now as we have said, as you move beyond the 96th level, you overcome this focus on yourself as a separate being. But still, even Jesus or the Buddha when they were in embodiment, even the Buddha when he came back out of nirvana to teach, he still saw himself as a distinct individual who could not allow himself to be pulled down by the collective consciousness. And in order to ascend, you have to continue that upward movement of raising yourself above the collective consciousness until you can take that last step and permanently leave the earth behind.
But once you ascend, that is no longer a concern. And that is why you look at it in an entirely different way, focusing on a specific area, seeking to raise life there. You are not even thinking that by seeking to raise life in that area, you will raise yourself. That concern is just dissolved along with that last sense of separate self that you gave up at the 144th level and merged with your I AM Presence.
