Question: I want to make sure that I am correctly walking the path to Christhood. I have been walking this path by myself because most people around me are not interested. I have been studying Kim’s books and websites, resolving my psychology, purifying myself, and letting go of material attachments and the separate self. One day I decided to put up pictures of ascended masters in my room, so that it is easier to pray, and I sleep better, knowing that the ascended masters are watching over me. The second day I felt a high energy above my head. At first it was difficult to deal with, and the high energy made me feel dizzy and nauseous. And then I remembered Jesus’ answer on the ascended master answers website, that the Christ self is the holy grail that can hold the universal Christ mind. I have been working on further resolving my psychology to better hold the universal Christ mind. I think I experienced what people call a spiritual awakening. Is this right? Is the universal Christ mind located somewhere above us, and accessed by opening the crown chakra? What about the beginning book of John chapter 1 that says, everything God ever created already contains the Word or the universal Christ mind? Which is right? What is the next step?
Answer from the Ascended Master Jesus through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2025 USA Conference.
I am not saying you should not use pictures of ascended masters, if you feel it helps you. But quite frankly, when you reach the level of Christhood, you are not using pictures of ascended masters, because you realize that the Kingdom of God is within you, and your connecting to the ascended masters is within you, directly within, not going through an outer picture. That is, the universal Christ mind is, that you are connected within. It is not incorrect to say that by opening the crown chakra, you connect to the greater wisdom of the Christ mind. As you may realize, all of the chakras are related to a certain God quality, and the crown chakra is related to the Second Ray, often seen as wisdom. But all the other chakras are also important. It is not just one chakra. You have to be careful not to locate the Christ mind in some particular physical location.
I know that in previous dispensations we gave these charts of the I AM Presence, where the I AM Presence is above your head. But when you reach the level of Christhood, you are not looking for a physical location, because the Christ mind is not confined to a particular location. At the lower levels of the path, it is perfectly fine to look at the chart, to look at pictures of the ascended masters, and to see your Christ self and your I AM Presence as being above you, and a crystal cord extending from them. It is perfectly fine.
But at the higher levels of Christhood, or when you actually approach the 96th level, you need to let go of this idea of having a physical image or a physical location. The Christ mind is everywhere. You can say, yes, it is above your head, because it is everywhere. But above your head is still outside of you. Until you see that it is everywhere within you, you have not really connected to it. It is important to keep that in mind. As we have said before, if you break a leg, you may need crutches to learn to walk again. But once you have strengthened your ability to walk, you throw away the crutches.
