Question: In the beginning was the Word. At what stage of creation was the matter-light manifested, the light you describe as tiny particles or strings without vibration?
Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2026 Kazakhstan Conference.
Well, you are starting from a not very good translation of the original Greek. You will see some scholars who will say that the Greek word used in the Gospel of John was not really “Word”, it was Logos. And the Logos had a specific meaning at the time the Gospel was written. There were many spiritual people in the Middle East at the time who had a certain concept of the Logos. And the Logos was by some seen as the whole, but it could also describe the Christ consciousness that allows you to see the whole. You cannot really say that the Word came before the matter-light, because you will not be able to resolve that with the linear mind. And in fact you can discuss whether you can really look at this with the linear mind and say: “Well, something must have come first.”
What came first, the chicken or the egg? What came first, the matter-light or the Christ consciousness? It really is not a question that the linear mind can fully grasp. You can say that the Creator knew that it would give individual extensions of itself free will, and therefore it created the Christ consciousness, as we have described many times, to help you exercise your free will by even going into separation, but being able to find your way back. But on the other hand, there is no meaning of having a Christ consciousness if there is not a matter-light.
Really the Creator conceived of both in its mind in the same process of determining the parameters for this world of form. You cannot really look back at this and say, you cannot, in other words, you cannot make a timeline for how the Creator developed these very early phases of this world of form. It was not that there was a certain time, seven o’clock in year zero, where the Creator thought of the Christ consciousness, and in 705 he thought of the matter-light. You cannot really put it on a linear scale like that. But what can be said is that they are both part of the Creator’s vision for this world of form.
