Question: What happens to the Conscious You when we ascend? Does it merge with the I AM Presence and become the Christ Self?

No, the Conscious You does not become the Christ Self, because the Christ Self is an extension of the mind of an ascended master who is extending a part of its being for you personally so that however low you go into the duality consciousness you can still contact the Christ mind and therefore, rise step by step. When you ascend, the Conscious You merges with the I AM Presence. We have given quite extensive teachings on this in other contexts and you simply need to look for those. But it is difficult to describe in words exactly what the process is. It is difficult to describe it in words that can be grasped here on earth, which is a low planet, because most people are still affected by the collective consciousness that have these separate selves in their outer minds.
You see, the dilemma here for a spiritual student is, you have a sense that you are a continuous being and the reason you have this is that the Conscious You is a continuous being, an immortal being, because it is out of the I AM Presence. Well, it is not technically immortal until you ascend but nevertheless you are a continuous being compared to one lifetime on earth for example. On the other hand, you have the ego which dreams of attaining immortality as a separate being. When you first hear the teachings about the Conscious You, what do you do?
Well, you interpret these partly through the outer mind and therefore you think that, well, the ego has the desire to become immortal but as a distinct being, and so the Conscious You, therefore, when it ascends – when you ascend – you become a distinct being as the Conscious You. But you do not, because the way you see yourself right now is through your identity body. And as we have said, you have illusions created at the 144th level,143rd and so on down. And you cannot give up these illusions, the last illusion, until you are at the 144th level. We are not expecting you to. But this means that until you are at the 144th level, you cannot really grasp what happens to the Conscious You when you ascend. And you do not need to grasp it because you do not need to understand it with the outer mind. You will experience it when it happens. Now I could give you words and say the Conscious You merges back into oneness with the I AM Presence. But how is your outer mind going to interpret that? What exactly does that mean? The outer mind will ask. And you can keep asking indefinitely.
But the Conscious You is an extension of the I AM Presence. When a Conscious You and the I AM Presence ascend, the Conscious You does not need to be an extension of the Presence. It becomes the Presence. It merges back into the Presence. It is absorbed into the Presence. It becomes indistinguishable from the Presence. It becomes the totality of the Presence instead of being an extension. These are just words. If the words are difficult for you to grasp, then do not try to define it with the outer mind. Either look at: do you have a particular self that is very attached to maintaining a separate existence and have you transferred this to the Conscious You? Then you can work on that self. Or you can simply say: “Well, I do not need to understand with the outer mind, with a linear analytical mind, what happens to the Conscious You when I ascend. I can wait for the experience.”
Although I sound stern, I am not trying to find fault with people being curious and asking questions. I am just trying to point out to you that any words we put on this are inadequate to describe the actual experience. And I am trying to raise the question: Does it really matter? And if it really matters, is it the Conscious You or is it a separate self that it matters to?
