The future of Ukraine as a nation

Question: What are Ukraine’s chances of defending its freedom, independence, and territorial integrity under Trump’s presidency? Trump humiliated Zelensky on the world stage and demonstrated his allegiance to Putin by suspending all military and financial aid to Ukraine. Recent reports suggest that the underlying motive behind Russia’s war on Ukraine may be to control Ukraine’s substantial rare earth mineral resources. President Zelensky is reportedly preparing to sign an agreement with the U.S. To provide these minerals, yet the U.S. Offers no security guarantees for the Ukrainian population in return. All of this increasingly resembles the exploitation and plundering of Ukraine, with its people being sacrificed for the benefit of the political elites in both Russia and the U.S. What are the chances of survival for ordinary Ukrainians in this situation, or are we doomed to extinction?

Answer from the Ascended Master Saint Germain through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2025 Holland Conference.

Certainly, you are not doomed to extinction. Ukraine will survive as an independent, democratic nation, but it will not necessarily survive in the same form and with the same boundaries that it had before the invasion. There will be adjustments that need to be made. But as we have said before, the Ukrainian people have taken on a certain role, which is to show the inhumanity of Russia as a state, which is what you clearly see when you look at the reality of how Russia has been conducting this war from the beginning. But now with the election of Trump as president, the United States has also been put in the School of Hard Knocks, as Russia was put into at the start of the equation. Now the Ukrainian people have a double role of also showing the inhumanity of the Trump presidency, which has already been demonstrated for many both outside the U.S. And inside the U.S. In how they treated Zelensky. Also, the whole idea of extracting minerals as a form of payment for the military aid that the previous president gave to Ukraine as an extension of America’s commitment to defending freedom and democracy.

This now has an opportunity to show the inhumanity of the Trump presidency and his approach to Ukraine, where he truly does not consider the human suffering of the Ukrainian people. He just looks at them as a piece in this big international puzzle that he sees. Of course, it would have been preferable to avoid this but again, free will must be allowed to outplay itself. What you are looking at here is simply that Trump needs to outplay his consciousness on the world stage but I can assure you that things will run their course, will begin to settle down and that the U.S. Will not withdraw all support from Ukraine. Because contrary to what Trump might or might not think, even I as an ascended master have trouble determining what Donald Trump actually thinks at any given moment in time given that it could change—like they say about the weather, if you do not like it wait five minutes. Nevertheless, my point is that Putin will not be as easy to make a deal with as Trump seems to think.

And therefore, you can see that Russia’s original goals for starting the invasion have not changed. This was not about minerals. This was simply about expanding the Russian Empire, recreating the Russian Empire in order to satisfy the ambitions of one man’s ego. There is no national interest on the part of the Russian people. Most of the Russian people were shocked. Why are we invading Ukraine? It is our brother nation. They are still shocked, even though they have covered over this state of shock by focusing on their daily lives, as the Russian people are unfortunately too good at doing. Too good for their own good because it would be better that they would recognize, Why are we doing this? Why are we continuing to do this? Until a critical mass of the Russian people will recognize that this makes no sense, there will not be a shift in the equation. Which of course means that the hard knocks have to become harder and harder with a breakdown in the economy as the most likely hard knock that will awaken people to how serious the situation actually is for Russia.

We will, of course, talk more about this in our upcoming webinar for Ukraine but the Ukrainian people will survive as an independent people.
