The collective consciousness behind the Coronavirus crisis

Question: Please comment on the nature of the collective consciousness that precipitated the Coronavirus crisis, as well as the subsequent economic crisis and loss of freedoms.

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2021 Webinar for Russia – Overcoming the consciousness of Superiority and the Sense of Being Unwhole, Traumatized and Focused Outside Oneself.

This is a complex topic because there is not just one aspect of the collective consciousness.

We have given some comments earlier that relate to this, but it is a very complex picture. Basically, you can say that there are too many people on earth who have not been willing to grow to a higher level. They have had the opportunity to grow to a higher level, and in an ideal scenario, they would already have grown to that higher level. But they have not been willing to do so. They have held on to their present state of life, the state in their country, their own consciousness.

This can cause that every once in a while there will be a manifestation of some disaster, or some calamity that people can no longer ignore. It is so severe that they cannot ignore it. This can happen with natural disasters, it can happen with war, and it can happen with contagious disease.

This is the overall cause of this. And if you look around the world, you will see that the way certain countries have reacted to this situation shows a lot about where that country is at in terms of their collective consciousness. What they have not transcended and what they need to transcend, in order to come to a higher level.

One of the things that has become obvious, is, of course, the healthcare system of the country, how well is it equipped to handle a crisis like this. And this shows you where there is a need of improvement, and where many countries could and ideally should have already improved this. You can also look at the response of how they are handling the crisis in terms of shutting their countries down, restricting the freedom of movement, and other things. You can see how this is done, what attitude it is a done with.

You can also look at how other people are responding to this. For example, you can see in the United States how there has been a large segment of the population who had first completely denied the existence of the virus, the existence of the crisis, or deny that it was a serious situation. You can see people who refused to go with masks, some who will refuse to take vaccine, and so on. This also shows you where these people are at in consciousness, especially in terms of their social awareness. And their willingness to help others, to protect others to do their part in not spreading a disease like this.

You could also say that part of what needed to happen, and what ideally should already have happened in the world, is that there would be the emergence of a more social awareness that the world is now more connected than ever. And what happens in one country affects what happens everywhere else. And there needs to be a greater solidarity and willingness for the more well-to-do countries to help other countries.

You see that this is again an opportunity where you can see that some countries are still dealing with the crisis in their own country, but they are nevertheless willing to reach out to certain other countries where the crisis is even worse. And this is of course what ideally should happen on a much larger scale, where there is more that sense that all human beings are connected, and there are certain things that affect all of us, and we all need to be a part of providing the solution for this, not just taking care of our own people.
