Question: What advice do the masters have for speaking out? My higher level of consciousness makes earth inhabitants uncomfortable. Christians feel threatened and do not listen when I talk about the kingdom of heaven existing within us and Jesus being an example instead of an idol.
Answer from the Ascended Master Jesus Christ through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2026 American Webinar.
Well, that is a very common experience. And many spiritual people have, of course, experienced this. But there are a couple of things you can consider here. First of all, it is very common among ascended master students and for that matter other spiritual students or even religious people that you become overly eager to convince other people. You go out with this intent to convince them. And you become very insistent and you often want to give them as much truth as at all possible. You think that if you give them something and it does not convince them, you have to give them even more, then maybe that will convince them. But what you need to do is step back and consider my teaching about a cup of cold water in Christ’s name. There are people who are not ready for spiritual teaching, or at least not a higher spiritual teaching. You need to be willing to intuitively tune in and give each person what they are ready for.
It is not a matter of converting them to believe in ascended masters or come into a particular teaching organization. It is a matter of realizing that each person is at a certain level of their personal path. They might be quite far below you in terms of the 144 levels of consciousness. You cannot make the mistake of giving them something from your level of consciousness and expecting that they will be able to relate to it. You need to tune into what is their level of consciousness and give them something that they can relate to at their level, which brings them one step up. You cannot expect somebody to jump ten or twenty or fifty steps up all at once.
In order to avoid this reaction, you need to look at these subconscious selves that we have talked about relating to, first of all, your intent for coming to earth, your wanting to help other people, your wanting to help them overcome suffering, then feeling disappointed when they will not listen to you and now going into various reactions of how you can do this. As we have said, you are basically trying to change your state of mind so you feel it was worth it to come to earth by helping other people.
When you resolve those selves, you can go into a state of mind where you are neutral, you are just expressing yourself. Perhaps you sometimes give people more than they are ready for, but you do not have an intent of changing their minds or making them accept what you are saying. You are just sharing who you are and what you believe.
