Question: I’m trying to follow a divine plan, but I’m struggling with not seeing a clear next step. I know that I need to resolve my psychology to see the next step. But in the three-plus years since I’ve been introduced to the Ascended Master teachings, I’ve never had a clear next step come to me. I don’t know if this is because my intuition is not yet at a level where I can clearly see the next step, or if I will see the next step once I resolve my psychology. Also, I’m having a hard time finding a job. I’ve done a lot of attunements over the years to know what career is in the divine plan, and as a result, certain keywords, words, come to mind (some inconsistent, some reliable). I don’t know if I should do what I think I want to do in that particular field, set goals and work to achieve them, or if I should let go and let the big flow take over and let it happen naturally. But keeping in mind the Ascended Masters teaching to let go and flow without exerting effort, I’m not looking for a job. I’m not working at all at the moment as I’ve gotten the intuition that I don’t even need to look for a part-time job (Sometimes I’m offered a job. And when I have a intuition about a particular job, I apply for it). Surrendering myself to the great flow, waiting to know the next step or for things to change, but I keep getting poorer and poorer, even running out of food. In this situation, I have tried many attunements. The consistent message I’ve gotten is “I don’t need to get a job, let it flow” (my intuition isn’t that clear, but I trust the “attuning to Christ” method to be as accurate as I can) Whenever I got to a point where I couldn’t hold on any longer, I would (accidentally) get enough money to hold on a little longer, or I would dramatically get a job, but the money would soon run out and I would quit my hard-earned job. This has been happening repeatedly for quite some time. When I was trying to get a job to make money, I would avoid working if I didn’t have something I wanted to do, and even if I didn’t have enough money, I would just wait until I had something I wanted to do. Many times I’ve thought to myself, “I wonder if I’m repeating the above situation to learn a lesson about ‘attitude with don’t do what I don’t want to do’,” but I’m willing to take a job if I need it, even if it’s not what I want to do. Currently, I am more than 6 months behind on my rent and various utility bills, and I’m facing the possibility of losing my water or having my lease terminated, which puts me under psychological pressure every day. I would like to know the Masters’ views on my situation.

My beloved, get a job!
Flowing with the River of Life does not mean doing nothing. It does not mean sitting passively and waiting for the orange to fall in your turban. It means taking active measures to do the practical things you need to do to survive, to take care of your body, and to therefore live a relatively stress-free life. Then you can focus on your spiritual growth and flowing with the River of Life, when you have secured the basic needs of your physical body.
We are not in any way encouraging our students to be passive or to sit there passively and wait for something to happen. We are telling you to be proactive, to secure a reasonable living standard for yourself, where you do not have the stress of not knowing where the money will come from to meet your normal obligations. This is not Christhood. You need to be practical so that you have enough spare time and attention to grow spiritually and focus on your service.
