How to talk to family members about their beliefs

Question: Ascended masters peace advise me on how to communicate wisely with my father who is an adherent of the Orthodox church of the Moscow patriarchy. He believes that one can be saved only by following the right church. Should I give him a different point of view or just respect his free will and not try to question his beliefs.

Answer from the Ascended Master Jesus through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2023 Easter Webinar.

Well, many people are, of course, in a similar situation, so you always need to make an individual evaluation. What is your relationship to the person in question? What is the state of mind of that person? But what you can always do and what you always have a right to do is to share your views and your feelings. You are not doing this with a frame of mind that you want to change the other person’s mind or convert the other person to an ascended master teaching. But you do have a right to share, especially with people you are close to, we might say that it is most likely part of your Divine plan to share your views your beliefs and even to share what you feel about the church and about their approach to the church and their beliefs and how they have talked about it with you and how they treat you. You have a right to say: “You know dad when you do this and when you say this, this makes me feel…—and then describe your feelings.” You may not always be able to do it, they might be too close-minded, but this is always something you can at least attempt to experiment with.
