Question: Is it enough to see a self and decree for it and direct light at it, and will this dissolve it? Would invoking light into a separate self, would that dissolve the self?
Answer through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2026 Kazakhstan Conference.
I’ll just give a brief summary here, because the masters have talked about this before. A self does have a certain amount of energy, and you can dissolve that energy by invoking light. But the self is based on a belief, and no matter how much light you invoke, the belief is not going to disappear until you consciously look at it and release it. You see it is an illusion, you see it limits you, and you let it go.
You have to let the self die, but it is very possible that the energy obscures the self and prevents you from seeing the self. That is why it is beneficial to invoke the light when you become aware of a self, make the calls for it, but you have to be willing to also look at it and see it. And what I always say, this thing about it is going in circles, it is because you have not actually seen the self. You have seen that there is something there, but you have not seen the belief behind it. You can see, for example, that you react to certain situations, but you have not seen the belief of why you think you need to react, and why you think you need to react that way.
You have to continue to look at it from different perspectives. And usually after some time, it can take some time, but there usually comes a point where now you see it, and then you can release it.
