How can I trust myself after believing fallen beings’ lies

Question: When we see that we have taken on the karma by believing fallen beings’ lies, does simply admitting this and using the decrees to clear the energy free us? How do we truly let go not only of the guilt and shame, but also the fear of lying to ourselves again? Unfortunately, I do not honestly know how to actually let a self die. I keep falling back into it.

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2023 American webinar.

Well, letting a self die is a matter of coming to see the self. If you keep falling back into a self, it is because you have not seen it yet. You need to do whatever you can to use the tools we have given to come to see it. You may see an aspect of a self or you may see one self that was created after your primal self. You may feel that you are making some progress and you have resolved something, but you have not yet gotten to the very core issue. In terms of believing in fallen beings and being afraid that you could fall into this situation again where you did not see what you should have been able to see, you did not see that they were manipulating you, you did not want to believe what they were really doing.

I can only say that this is what we have all been exposed to. We have all been in this state of mind as avatars who came to earth. We have all interacted with fallen beings. We have all met them with a pure innocent state of mind wanting to believe the best about people. And therefore, we have all had this situation where we wanted to be loyal to a certain person. We wanted to try and help that person. We wanted to believe the best about that person and it took perhaps a somewhat dramatic event before we came to see that our trust had been misplaced in a sense that the person was either manipulating us or was doing these horrendous acts that we were not willing to see.

This is a very common theme for avatars. That does not, of course, comfort or help you, but it does, perhaps in the sense that you need to recognize here that what is the difference between being on a natural planet and being on earth? On a natural planet, you experiment with your co-creative abilities. Now, you do not always do what is the best possible thing to do. The only difference is, that on a natural planet, whatever you do, you do not see it as some epic irreparable mistake that could never be undone, that you could never be free from. And that is because the fallen consciousness is not there on a natural planet.

You come from a natural planet with this mindset that you can do things on earth and you can free yourself from it. But then you encounter the fallen beings who are experts at manipulating you into a certain situation where the physical consequences of what you did or what you allowed other people to do or what you supported other people in doing were very severe, more severe than anything you have ever even imagined on a natural planet. And then, on top of this, they project at you, as we have said many times before, that you have now made a choice that you can never free yourself from. And that is why you feel this shame, this sense of loss, this sense of some irreparable damage that you are stained forever and you can never be pure again. But you can, when you take the teachings we have given about fallen beings. You can come to see that this has no reality outside the fallen mindset. It has no reality in Christ. There is nothing that you cannot be redeemed from, in Christ or by Christ.

Therefore, this sense that you have is not based on reality. It is a separate self. Again, we have all created these selves, we have all felt this way. It is understandable that we do this. But you can come to see that it just is not real in the mind of Christ. It is not necessary to adopt this mindset. It is a manipulation of the fallen beings who are deliberately trying to destroy you. And when you see this you can lock into a certain determination in you to not let them get away with it. To just walk away from this entire mindset. Let these selves go. Why can you lock into this determination? Because you are not an average co-creator. You would not have volunteered to come to an unnatural planet if you did not have a strong determination to grow, to transcend yourself, to become more, to manifest the highest possible level of Christhood.

And when you lock in to this, you realize that any experience you have on earth can be the foundation for you stepping up to a higher level of Christhood. And in fact, the lower the experience might seem to be, the more you attain Christhood by transcending it, by overcoming it, by seeing that regardless of how serious it seems and how serious the fallen beings project at you that it is, or that other people on earth project at you that it is, you can still transcend it by locking in to the Christ mind. And when you work with this, you have to find a way to tune in to what exactly it was for you that made you accept that you had made this mistake and that you cannot trust yourself again and that you might again lie to yourself in the future. Or whatever it is for you individually. We all had our individual reaction to this where we formulated some kind of belief. If you keep looking for this, using whatever tools are available, even going to psychologists or whatever is realistic for you, you can come to that point where you see it.

And once you see it, once you see the decision you made and the illusion of that decision, well, you will let the self go. Because when you see the illusion that the self is based on, how can you hold on to the self? You can realize here that this is one of these situations, where you have more than one self. You have a self that caused you to react to the situation and feel you have done something wrong, then you have another self that is reacting to the situation by projecting that the fact that you made this one mistake means that you could do it again and therefore you cannot really trust yourself.

But these are both selves. So what if you make the same mistake again? In the Christ mind this is not a problem. You can make the same mistake many times until you get it, until you learn the lesson and step up to that higher level of Christhood. And it does not matter how many times you make a mistake as long as you get the lesson. Again, you can come to look at these selves. You can look at the reasoning behind it. You can come to see that it is limited. It is dualistic. It is one sided. It is looking at the issue from one particular angle and for the self this is the only way to look at it. But when you tune into the Christ mind, you can see that there are other ways to look at it. In fact, it is possible to step back from the whole mindset and see that nothing in matter really matters.

The earth is a reality simulator. Nothing here is really permanent. No mistake you can ever make is permanent, is irreparable. You can overcome anything that you have done. But in order to overcome it you have to let go of the self that you created in reaction to the situation. And there is nothing that prevents you from doing this other than some other self or rather, in the end, the decision of the Conscious You. There comes a point where the Conscious You has to make a decision and say: “Have I had enough of blaming myself, feeling ashamed? What is it really, this state of consciousness that I am feeling, this burden that I have carried with me for so long? What is it?” Well, it is an experience. It is one of the experiences you can have on an unnatural planet that you could not have on a natural planet. “Have I had enough of this experience?” And if you feel that you have, if you come to the conclusion that you have, then how do you change the experience? By walking away from the whole mindset, by walking away from the selves. There are selves to resolve but there comes a point where the Conscious You has to make a decision and say: “Enough of this experience. I do not want this experience anymore. Enough! I am not this kind of a person. I am not inadequate. I am not a person who cannot trust myself. I cannot trust my outer self but I can trust my Christ self, my I AM Presence. I can trust the Conscious You because when I realize who I am as pure awareness, I am not trapped in any of these selves anymore. There is nothing on earth that defines me. I can trust that whatever mistake I might make, I can transcend it. This I can trust.”

Unless of course you want the experience of not being trustworthy, not being redeemable. And if you have not had enough of it, well, you have free will to make that choice. I am just saying it is a choice you are making and any choice you have ever made can be undone, transcended by making a more aware choice.
