Elderly people overburdening the healthcare system

Question: With a growing proportion of elderly people in the population, seniors who live long lives while suffering from poor health may place a burden on younger generations. Is there a way to remain active and healthy until death?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2026 New Year Webinar.

Yes, of course there is. There are various physical measures you can take, and it is not difficult to find out what they are based on current knowledge. But the primary thing you can do to remain healthy is to work on your psychology, seek to overcome the subconscious selves, transform the energy in your three higher bodies that are burdening the physical body. The more you resolve psychology, the more you purify your energy field, the better physical health you will have.

But of course, the problem of an aging population is what is faced by most of the affluent countries in the world and this is a problem, again, that democratic governments need to address. There are various ways this needs to be done, including, as I just said in another answer, increasing employment for young people so they pay more taxes and so forth. But the primary thing I want to mention here is that the aging population is bringing increased focus on the problem of the modern world’s approach to medicine, to health and healing. Allopathic medicine has run up against its limitations, where you can say that in some cases it can keep people alive, but not healthy.

You can say from an overall perspective that the older people who are burdening the health care system are simply helping to force these societies to re-evaluate the materialistic approach to health and healing so that they can go beyond this purely physical profit driven approach to health and healing and adopt a more holistic approach. Many nations are so trapped in a materialistic mindset that they will not voluntarily make that shift, but they will be forced by the increased health care cost because, as always, money talks. Sad that this should be necessary in democratic nations, but at the current level of consciousness, it is.

You can, of course, make the calls in this coming year for the masters of the Second Ray to help people involved with health care systems realize the situation and acknowledge the need to look for alternatives to a purely materialistic approach to health and healing.
