Do classical music concerts create a negative vortex of energy?

Question. Beloved ascended masters, in one of his videos, Kim mentioned that when we attend church services, we become part of a collective consciousness influenced by a collective entity created there. This collective entity generates swirling spirals and feeds on a congregation’s energy, thereby affecting their free will. Similar processes also occur at concerts. My question is, can such a phenomenon also occur when attending classical music concerts?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2026 New Year Webinar.

In general, whenever you have a gathering of people—it can be anything from the family level up to smaller or larger groups, even a nation, even humanity as a whole—a collective consciousness is formed. Now, the nature of that collective consciousness depends on what are the particular beliefs or worldview that the people have when they come together. If you have many churches or religions, they may have a view that is based on duality and separation. For example, many Christians have a belief based on duality and separation that they are sinners and that they come together to seek somehow to compensate for their sins and this and that. This will create a collective entity, a collective spirit based on such beliefs. And when you attend it, it will attempt to, first of all, project these thoughts, these beliefs into your consciousness, but also use them to get you to engage in, for example, guilt or fear so that it can absorb energy from you that you qualify with a fear-based vibration.

This will happen in any gathering, but, of course, some gatherings are more positive than others. It is perfectly possible that people can come together and they have a positive uplifting experience where there is not a collective entity based on duality and separation. Classical concerts are certainly one example of which is, in most cases, a positive spiral that people create. You can say that whenever a group of people comes together, their energy fields combine, and when they participate in some activity, the energies will often, in most cases, form a spiral that either is an upward spiral because it is based on love, or a downward spiral based on fear. And, actually, in many cases, classical music creates more of an upward energetic spiral.

But there can, of course, be groups of people who come together even for a classical concert and are very concerned about an outer situation, for example, and, therefore, it does create a negative energetic spiral. Other forms of music, like rock music, in general, creates a downward spiral. And many other activities that people engage in, for example, you just had New Year’s where many people engage in drinking, superficial conversation, having fun, so to speak, taking drugs or whatever, and it often creates a downward spiral even at the family level. The other thing that happens at New Year’s is that many people are worried about the new year, they have New Year’s resolutions that they know they cannot keep, and so forth. This also creates a downward spiral collectively.

In general, you can say, as a spiritual person, you need to be careful what collective activities you engage in. You need to simply learn to sense the energies, and as we said before, as an ascended master student, it is important for you to learn to read the vibration of something. You have a concept that you can read the room. You can go into a room and you can read what is going on there. And this is, in its highest form, you read the energies in the room. And you can see whether they are positive—an upward spiral, or a downward spiral, and you can remove yourself from a downward spiral.
