Do animals reincarnate?

Question: Do animals reincarnate? Do human beings join their pets after death?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Estonia in 2018.

No, they don’t because as we have said before, animals have a group soul and therefore it is meaningless to say that an animal reincarnates. What you can say is that an animal that has been closely associated with humans can have an elemental that is more evolved. So there could be, in some cases, an elemental in, say a dog and after the dog dies, the elemental creates or manifests another dog’s body. A person could then get that dog and recognize some familiarity with the elemental but it doesn’t mean that the dog has reincarnated.

I know this may be a slightly technical distinction but you understand that a being created in a higher realm, such as an avatar or one of the original inhabitants of the Earth – in other words, most human beings – incarnates because the Conscious You or the soul descends into the body. An elemental does not incarnate unless it receives the threefold flame and incarnates in a human body. Until then you cannot actually say that the life of the elemental is an incarnation; it’s more of an evolution.
