Are dualistic selves the same as subconscious selves?

Question: Please clarify this. Are separate selves the same thing as subconscious selves? Are dualistic selves a type of separate selves or a type of subconscious selves? Does the HAP program, High Awareness Psychology, serve to address all of these kinds of selves?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2O25 USA Conference.

Well, we are not always completely consistent in how we use these terms. You can basically say that all selves are subconscious selves, because until you see them, they exist below the level of conscious awareness. They are hiding in the subconscious mind.

We have told you that the Conscious You starts at the 144th level of consciousness. It creates a self to descend to the 143rd. And once the self is created, it sinks down below the level of conscious awareness, especially after the Conscious You reaches the 48th level. That self is a subconscious self, but it is not a dualistic self. Dualistic selves are created when you go below the 48th level of consciousness. That is when you go into the illusion that you are a separate being. And in order to make that illusion seem real, you have to use the duality consciousness, which, as we have explained many times, creates a particular filter where there are two polarities and one of them is the ultimate truth and the other one is false. And this allows you, when you are focusing on one polarity, to believe that you are really a separate self. And that duality, what you see through duality, is real.

Basically, the HAP program addresses both kinds of selves. You can say a dualistic self is also a subconscious self. A subconscious self is not necessarily a dualistic self. But you also have to realize that you are creating the dualistic selves below the 48th level of consciousness. But then as you go deeper into duality, there comes that point where you have had enough of this, you turn around, you start climbing back up towards the 48th level. And then at some point you reestablish your connection and you start climbing. But this does not mean that you have now let go of all of the dualistic selves. You will carry some of these selves with you, basically, until you reach or pass the 96th level. They are not the most selfish selves, or what you would call evil selves that justify evil behavior. But you still have many of these beliefs that you created, selves based on these serpentine illusions, the illusions of the fallen beings. And you do not have to overcome all of them to go above the 48th level, because otherwise it would take a very, very long time to get above that level.

Therefore, you carry them with you and therefore, because you are on earth, it is wise to never really allow yourself to believe that you have fully overcome all dualistic selves because there can still be not just a self but a subtle belief. And really you could say that when you go above the 96th level, you are also serving to resolve the dualistic selves in the collective consciousness. It is not just about you freeing yourself from a self but you have a wider impact when you are above the 96th level. Even there you can be dealing with some of these dualistic selves. But the difference is that when you go above the 96th level, you can encounter a self, but you are not identified with it. And you are just looking at it neutrally instead of resisting looking at it. When you are below the 96th, especially as you are climbing closer to the 96th and you have built this sense of a spiritual self, you can have a certain resistance to seeing a dualistic self because you feel: “Oh I am so spiritual I should not have this anymore.” And this can be a hindrance on the path because it can then prevent you from simply looking at the self and letting it go so you can move on.
