Question: In Korea, there is a belief that ancestral spirits in the astral realm can cause illness to their descendants or affect the luck of their descendants depending on the feng shui location of their grave. Do these phenomena come from real ancestors or from disguised demons or some kind of spirits? And what kind of decrees and invocations are recommended to cut off these unnecessary ancestral vibrations or interference?
Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2023 Korean Conference.
Well, again, it depends on how you use words and define it. How would you define real ancestors? What we can say is that, in general, when people pass away, they go to whatever level they can go to based on their level of consciousness, where they process their last embodiment, start to prepare for their next embodiment. And in many cases, that embodiment will be in a different environment, not in the same family, maybe not even in the same country.
In general, ancestors move on. And once you are out of the body, most people do not have the attachment to their family that the family members in embodiment can have to the deceased person. There are, of course, cultures where there is such an attachment or such a tradition for ancestor worship that it can prevent some people from moving on. They become, what you call, discarnate spirits that are trapped often in the astral plane and cannot move on. And such discarnate spirits can affect the emotional, mental, and identity bodies of people in embodiment. But they do not have the power to affect the physical body and provide bad luck or illness. This is simply superstition. It is, again, that when something happens to people, they want to explain it in a way that is not their fault, and so some cultures project this upon their ancestors. But it is not realistic. But there are people who can be affected by a discarnate family member that has not been able to move on, especially, of course, if they have an attachment. If you have an attachment to a grandmother that prevents her from moving on, then that grandmother, as a discarnate spirit, can attempt to affect you in order to get you to let go so that the soul can move on.
The best kind of decrees and invocations you can give are to Astrea to cut you free or to cut your ancestors free so they can move on. You, of course, also need to look at whether you have an attachment to your family members and, then, let that go and allow them to move on.
