Higher perspective on soul division

Question: My question relates to an answer about the life review where Jesus explained that very damaged souls may be taken after death to special places for healing and possible assistance to retrieve lost soul parts. And that this can be a very lengthy process. I have also read other answers on this website dealing with trauma to the lifestream. I would be grateful if Jesus would comment on the following. A past life regression therapist refers in her writings to a very rare but real situation that she has seen in her client sessions. It is that in circumstances of healing in the afterlife, after significant trauma on earth, it is possible that some parts of the soul may heal much more quickly than other parts. And if so, that a decision may be taken that the soul should be divided into two parts to enable the more healed part to return to embodiment, while the other parts remain for further rest and healing. It has been made clear in the sessions that the two parts will need to eventually reunite on earth, so when both are back in the reincarnation cycle, they must plan lifetimes to meet until this is achieved. And that this may take a number of embodiments as the consciousness levels of the two parts may not be compatible due to one having had many more lives on earth than the other. If the more damaged part was out of embodiment for a long time, if the earth reunion is successful, the parts return to one being in the afterlife and resume incarnating if necessary. If this process of division can occur, could you indicate what would be possible for the healthier part, if the more damaged part, when it returns to embodiment, returns not fully healed, but with a certain vulnerability, or perhaps is spiritually attacked via an abusive childhood, and as a result becomes further damaged, falling into a negative spiral and shunning assistance, so that reunion is not feasible due to incompatibility with the healthier part? Is the healthier part fully functional without the other? And if not, can it be reconstituted in some way, if the damaged part continues to fall in consciousness and reunion becomes impossible or at least unlikely? Or would it simply have to continue reincarnating indefinitely, hoping reunion may become possible eventually?

Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2026 New Year Webinar.

The observation made by this past life regression therapist is simply not realistic. It is a human interpretation imposed in order to explain the reaction to severe trauma. It is not a realistic scenario. We do not divide a soul so that one part re-embodies and another part remains inactive for a time and eventually have to re-embody and the two meet. If you want a deeper understanding, we can say that a soul exposed to very severe trauma can create a separate self that is so focused on the trauma and the pain and avoiding future pain, that it becomes stuck. It could become stuck in the astral plane, for example. But then the main part of the soul re-embodies again. The Conscious You will re-embody. It will still have a structure in the identity, mental and emotional realm. But it has that separate self that is left, for example, in the astral plane. And that, of course, creates an inroad for astral forces. It creates a pull on the Conscious You and the identity, mental, emotional bodies.

Really, it is a useful teaching to talk about soul division and soul parts. It has helped various people heal. I am not denouncing it completely, but I am denouncing this particular interpretation that the soul splits into two. What can happen is, as I said, that a separate self gets stuck somewhere and that the rest of the lifestream continues to embody. But if you want to take your understanding of this soul part and soul division theory to a higher level, you need to simply look at the teachings we have given about the separate selves, because soul parts is really just separate selves. It is not really a matter of reintegrating the separate self that has become stuck. It is a matter of coming to see it as a separate self, dissolving the energy, seeing the illusion and letting the self die.

You can also use the teaching about the separate selves to gain a higher perspective on the concept of an inner child or inner children that you need to, according to some teachings, love and reintegrate. But it is really a matter of coming to see that an inner child is really a separate self, created at a certain time, often due to trauma. And it is not that you need to reject it and push it away from you. You need to accept that it is part of your being. But the goal is not to reintegrate the inner child. The goal is to let it die, because it was a separate self created at a certain age. And you are now moved beyond that age. Perhaps it was even created in past lifetimes. It is a matter of letting it go.

You see, the teaching about soul parts and soul division, again, I am not saying it is invalid, but it is based on the view of the soul that we just talked about, was given in even previous ascended master dispensations, but also many other spiritual teachings. That the soul is what incarnates from the spiritual realm. But as we explain now, with the teachings about the Conscious You, what really incarnates is the Conscious You. It is pure awareness, neutral awareness, cannot be changed by anything on earth. What you learn from your sojourn on earth is stored in your causal body. And therefore, as Jesus said 2000 years ago, only the person who descended from heaven can ascend back to heaven. The outer personality, the contents of your identity, mental, emotional bodies cannot ascend to heaven, because they were created in reaction to earth, and ascending means transcending earth. Therefore, all of this that you have created, in response to being on earth, needs to be dissolved and let die before the Conscious You can return to the same state of pure awareness with which it descended, and then, you can ascend.
