Question: What health issues related to the throat chakra are most commonly associated with a person who is on the spiritual path? Are such conditions typically connected with unexpressed thoughts, blocks in self-expression, self-suppression, or unexpressed emotions, including negative ones?
Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2026 New Year Webinar.
Well, basically any disease that involves the throat, your ability to speak, even to some degree your ability to breathe, can be connected to the throat chakra. Many of them are related to something not expressed, but they can also be related to something expressed, in other words, a misuse of the throat chakra, the power of the voice. For example, expressing words in anger, criticizing, putting down other people, what you will call verbal abuse of other people, can very much manifest as diseases of the throat. It is not just what is not expressed, it could also be what is expressed, but should not have been expressed if the psychology had been healed.
But it is, if you are not one of these people who are abusing your throat chakra, it is certainly valid to look at the possibility of, are you afraid to express yourself? Are you afraid to speak out, or are you trapped in a pattern where you do not want to speak out. You put your feelings into the subconscious mind, but they build, and then once they become too intense, you speak out in anger.
You might look for such patterns, but you will also need to look at, are you afraid to express yourself? Many people in embodiment on earth have in past lifetimes learned that it can be dangerous to express themselves. You could be condemned by society, you could be burned at the stake by a religion, you could be thrown in jail by a repressive regime, or you could be condemned and put down by other people. Yes, certainly it is necessary to consider this, but this does not mean I am saying you just need to start expressing yourself. You need to again work on the subconscious selves, so that you come to a point where you can now express yourself in a neutral way, without the emotional charge that comes from these pent-up emotions. It is not that simple that you just need to speak out and yell at people, or go out into the forest and yell at the trees.
You need to look at the psychology of why you feel you have to suppress yourself, why are you afraid of expressing yourself, and then resolve those subconscious selves so you come to a point where now you can express yourself neutrally. You can, as we have talked about before, for example, tell other people how what they are doing or saying affects you, not with the blame and anger that you should not be doing this, but just tell them neutrally how this affects you, how you feel about it.
