Question: As an avatar, did we come to earth separated from the I AM Presence in tandem, but within the I AM Presence and the I AM Presence released the Conscious You once we were here?

We realize that this is difficult to grasp because words are inadequate to really describe the process. I am not saying what I am giving you here is the full explanation, but for practical purposes let us describe it this way. As an avatar your I AM Presence was created by the ascended masters to take embodiment or to start growing from the starting point of a natural planet. Even on a natural planet there is still free will and so there is a theoretical possibility that the free will could result in a lifestream being lost, trapped in a lower state of consciousness. Again, the I AM Presence does not descend into embodiment even on a natural planet in its fullness. It sends an extension of itself.
When your I AM Presence first took embodiment on a natural planet it created an extension of itself which we can call the Conscious You.
But then through the time, often a very long time that you evolved on this natural planet, the I AM Presence grew. When the I AM Presence decided that it was not ready to ascend from the natural planet but wanted to come to an unnatural planet, then the simplest way to describe it is to say that the Conscious You that had evolved on the natural planet was reabsorbed into the I AM Presence. Then when the I AM Presence came to an unnatural planet it created a new extension of itself specifically to take embodiment on the unnatural planet. This is the simplest way to explain it in words.
There is continuity between the natural planet and the unnatural planet but that continuity is more in the I AM Presence, which as we have explained, is not an ascended being. The I AM Presence can still have certain viewpoints, beliefs, images, ways of looking at free will, evolution and that is why that a Conscious You can come to earth with a certain attitude, a certain approach to what it hopes to accomplish on earth.
Again, it is difficult to describe with words but this is the most practical way to describe it without going too much into detail with it.
