Question: A question about the validity of the Gospel of Thomas. The Gospel of Thomas among other Gnostic scriptures is found in the Egyptian desert a few months after the end of the Second World War in December 1945. These scriptures have been found by two Egyptian farmers and by sheer accident because they were digging for something else.
Is it legitimate to assume that this discovery is somehow managed by the ascended host? I mean have these two farmers been guided somehow without them ever knowing or realizing? Does Jesus want to comment on the validity of these 114 so-called logions in the Gospel of Thomas? Are the words written there at least some of them indeed the words spoken by Jesus. And was it indeed Thomas who wrote them down at that time? If the Catholic Church even wanted to be resurrected in the mind of Christ the Gospel of Thomas would be at least one historic document people could rely on and build upon.
Answer from the Ascended Master Jesus through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2024 Easter webinar
Well, no it was not directed by the ascended masters directly. You see what happened was that there was a rather chaotic period after my embodiment as Jesus. And there were various people who decided that they would create a written record of my life. And as you know if you have studied this topic most of the Gospels were written down quite some time after my lifetime and they were not necessarily written down by the people who were actually my disciples Mark or Matthew or John.
They were written by people who used that name in order to give it some authority. And the same is the case with the Gospel of Thomas. Now this does not mean that these are fake Gospels because the people who wrote them down were somewhat able to use the historical facts that have been handed down as a basis for some attunement with the Christ mind. I am not saying that I dictated any of the Gospels because as I said before I deliberately did not write down any scriptures because I wanted to create an organization where there was the openness for me to work directly with people through the Holy Spirit. But there was still some inspiration and therefore, yes the Gospel of Thomas has some validity it could be used. But really why would you want to use a Gospel written down many centuries ago when you could have access to the Holy Spirit today? For that matter if you really want to reform the Christian churches use my dictations through this and other messengers or get your own attunement with me so that I can work through you directly.
There is a certain irony in the fact that people are always looking to the past to find some scripture that has some kind of validity when there is always the possibility of contacting spirit directly and getting teachings adapted to a specific age. It is the same as some Hindus who are looking back to the Vedas that were written down thousands of years ago and they think somehow that these scriptures were more pure because they were written down so long ago. But the reality as we have explained is that at the time the Hindu scriptures were written down the collective consciousness of earth was much lower than it is today. What these rishis could see was limited by the collective consciousness and therefore, higher teachings can be brought forth today as we have already brought forth many higher teachings through this messenger and other messengers.
