Question: When we are on a spiritual path, can Western Magic or Hermeticism be a way of practicing? I am not referring to Wicca or Black Magic. Some, like Frantz Baden’s Initiation Into Hermetics, teach serious magical practices for the sole purpose of spiritual development. Could it be that training in Western Magic or Hermetics for spiritual progress is also a part of the path?

Well, we have never claimed that there is only one path to follow or that there is only one valid teaching. There are many various mystical teachings that can have some validity that can bring you to a certain level of consciousness. We naturally leave it up to the individual free will, what you decide to follow, what you feel helps you, and what you feel can benefit you on your spiritual path.
But having said this, this does not mean that we recommend the spiritual practices you are talking about. You are, of course, free to practice them. But you might see that there is a certain irony in asking the ascended masters as we appear in this dispensation about other spiritual teachings and practices.
Is it really not enough what we have given you? As I recall, there are quite a number of books, quite a number of websites. You find this is not enough, this is too boring? If so, you are, of course, free to go wherever you want to go. I am trying to make light of it. I am not trying to make fun of other traditions. If you feel it appeals to you, go there and practice it. But I will say this, what we give is part of an ongoing process of progressive revelation. The teachings of Hermeticism were given at a previous time, the original ones, and even what is given in today’s age is based on that tradition. They can take you to a certain level of the spiritual path, but they cannot take most people to the 144th level of consciousness. That is what we have given our teachings about the original birth trauma, about the 144 levels of consciousness, and those initiations at the higher level.
If you do practice such teachings, I strongly recommend that you do not decide with your outer mind that this is the ultimate teaching that will take you all the way, and that you keep using your intuition to sense whether perhaps you have gone high enough with that teaching, gone as high as it can take you, and now you need to go back to the ascended master teachings and see how they can take you to a higher level.
