Question: With house prices rising rapidly, but wages stagnant, more and more South Koreans, especially in their 20s and 30s are thinking that it will be difficult for them to make money enough to prepare for retirement by just working nine to five. They are seeking to make passive income through investing money. Many people invest in real estate, buying an undervalued property at a good price, holding them for some time or rent it out and selling it at a profit. They also buy bank auction property to buy at a good price. Some people invest in foreign currency like US dollars, expecting the foreign currency to increase in value so they can sell it at a profit. Can the masters comment on the spiritual perspective on investments in real estate and foreign currency?

Well, if we look at it from a spiritual perspective only, you of course need to be concerned with the balance between making karma and making money. As a spiritual person, you do not want to make money in a way that also creates karma. And what you are talking about with the increasing house prices, or when investing currency is simply speculation. Saint Germain has given profound teachings on the gambling economy and how there is so much of the investment, the financial industry, that is basically based on the gambling mindset. Anytime you are talking about speculation, where people buy something, hoping they can sell it for a profit without really doing much to it, then you are talking about speculation.
And this means what? It means that even if you make some money on this, other people have to pay, eventually somebody has to pay. And sooner or later, so many people would have paid that they do not have enough money left over as I just said in the other answer, and the entire economy goes down. That will ultimately affect you, it will affect everybody.
Obviously, if you as a spiritual person participate in this kind of speculation, well, that is a karma-making situation. Now, of course, if prices go up and you have some property, and you sell it at a profit, that is a different matter. But what I am talking about is deliberate speculation, only to make money, is not something we recommend for spiritual people, because somebody has to pay the price. Somebody has to buy that property at a higher price, pay the mortgage, pay the interest on the mortgage, and so forth. This is what has been done over the last number of years in many of the modern countries, is that these investment companies, these speculative companies have artificially inflated real estate prices in order to make a huge profit, but it can, and will, in the long run threaten the entire economy as it did in 2008.
