Question: I am from Russia, and I have a question about the state of consciousness of Russian society. Talking to people, I observe a stubborn unwillingness to change their point of view on the war with Ukraine. Even if some acknowledge that Russia’s decision to attack Ukraine was wrong, they still believe it is necessary to fight to the end after the invasion. And I wonder if this enormous sacrifice made by the Ukrainian people will not be in vain. When I compare the suffering of the Ukrainian people and our life in Russia, which is relatively prosperous despite all the sanctions, it is difficult for me not to feel pain, disappointment and apathy.
I have been following the ascended masters’ teachings for a long time. I understand the concept of free will. I use the tools given to us by the masters. But I still find it very difficult to accept what is happening on this planet. How many more lives of Ukrainians, and the lives of my compatriots who are at war, will it take before the shift in the consciousness of Russians finally takes place? And could it be that the Russian power elite will succeed in hiding from society the scale of the crimes committed in Ukraine which it has successfully done so far? Could it be that, in case of peace negotiations, they will even present this to the Russians as an achievement of their war goals, thus depriving them of the opportunity to learn necessary lessons?
Answer from the Ascended Master Mother Mary through Kim Michaels. This answer was given during the 2023 New Year’s webinar – Being a spiritual person in a chaotic world.
Well, hopefully the teachings given by Gautama and Padmasambhava have helped you shift your perspective and helped other ascended master students in both Ukraine and Russia. We, of course, do not desire to see our students feel apathy and feel there is nothing that can be done. You are, of course, right that at the surface level, at the physical level, there is a certain stubbornness among the Russian people. But I can assure you that there are already many changes in the identity, mental and emotional realms. And it is just a matter of time before they will filter through to the physical to people’s conscious minds with greater intensity. The denial of the Russians is strong but it is gradually being challenged from the three higher levels. And also in a sense from the physical, as more and more information filters in and as more and more people become aware of what is actually going on.
It is clear that the greatest obstacle is this sense that now that we have started the war we must fight to the end. But the question is what is the end? There will come a point where more among the people, and even among the leaders, will begin to realize that there is no way to win this war militarily. What is the end? There is no end that is beneficial for Russia and for the Russian people.
Now, a concern is, of course, the power elite. Will they be able to hide what is happening? Well, not forever. And there will certainly come a point where there will be a shift, where more and more among the Russian people will begin to see through the lies and the propaganda of the government and stop believing in it.
How long will this take? Well, it is difficult to predict anything that involves free will. But there will be many shifts in the Russian population during 2023. It is possible that the war will come to an end. It is not an absolute certainty, but there is a high probability that it will come to an end in this coming year. And I can assure you that even when the fighting comes to an end the influence that this war will have on Russian society and the Russian people will not come to an end. The ramifications of this war will be felt for a very, very long time and it will generate massive changes in Russian society. You can basically say that the pre-war Russia will cease to exist and be replaced by a new form of Russia that is closer to the golden age than it was before the war. Exactly how this will play out, there are various scenarios. But I can assure you that no matter what it seems like at the conscious level Russia cannot avoid changing, and a power elite cannot hold back changes in Russian society.
