Shakespeare, Shakespearean plays and their effect on the collective consciousness

Question:  Did Saint Germain as Francis Bacon write the plays of Shakespeare? 


 

Answer from the Ascended Master Saint Germain through Kim Michaels. This answer was given at a conference in Holland in 2018

Umm (10 second pause) The pause you hear is because the messenger has trouble grasping exactly what I am seeking to bring out here because it is a teaching that is somewhat beyond words. So, the short answer is no, Francis Bacon did not write the plays of Shakespeare while I was in embodiment as Francis Bacon. However, while I was in embodiment as Francis Bacon, I was a very prolific author and I talked to many, many people. I was actually able to influence certain people in embodiment and give them some of the ideas that they then processed in their own minds, some of them using their own attunement, to eventually write these plays.  So the reality is that the Shakespearean plays were not written by one person, they were written by a group of people.  

The name Shakespeare even though there was a physical person who has become seen as the author, there was more than one person. The name Shakespeare is actually a reference to the Greek temple in Athens that was dedicated to Athena. There was a large statue of Pallas Athena holding a spear which had a jewelled tip. At a certain time in the morning, the suns' rays would shine through a hole in the wall and hit the jewelled tip of the spear and the light refractions would make it seem as if the spear was shaking. This was turned into the name Shakespeare to indicate that when the gods shake the spear there will be an effect in the physical realm.

These plays were obviously meant to create an effect. They have had very far-flung, vast, profound effects on the collective consciousness. Not so much when they were written but especially later as they have been studied and played over and over again.  The very fact that they still endure shows that they have some universal value, some universal ideas and concepts that are still appealing to human beings today. This by the way, shows you the value of bringing out a story that can contain genuine teachings but are not necessarily factually correct in every detail, as we have said there was no Prince of Hamlet in Denmark. 

In order to really extract the lessons from the Shakespearean plays, you have to of course shift out of the linear mind because if you are in the linear mindset that many people are in today then you could of course say, “Well, there was no Prince of Hamlet, so Shakespeare was not a genuine writer or messenger for any higher truth.  End of story - we are rejecting it.”  What you also have to recognize is that when the Shakespearean plays were written, people were not as anchored in the linear analytical mind as most people are today. They had a different state of consciousness. That’s why back then they didn’t take the Shakespearean plays the same way that many people do today. It doesn’t mean that the plays don’t have value today but in order to really extract the lessons, you have to approach them with your intuitive mind, not with the analytical mind. This of course is the case you could say with any spiritual, esoteric teaching. As we have now told you during this conference very clearly, it is not the analytical mind; it is not by knowing and understanding that you grow spiritually. It is by experiencing. 

The Shakespearean plays are not so much meant to give people an outer teaching or an outer understanding as they are meant to give people an experience that can shift their consciousness. 

We might say that when you take Jesus’ previous answer about how long it can take a life stream to evolve. It is actually that many of the life  streams that are in embodiment on earth, that were what we have called the original inhabitants of the earth, have taken longer than two million years to evolve on this planet and they have not made much progress, some of them for a million years or more. If they were to get to the point where they could ascend, they would require so many experiences that there isn’t enough lifetimes for them. The Shakespearean plays are an example of describing certain situations in a story form, that if people actually take them intuitively they can actually have an experience that makes it unnecessary for them to have a physical embodiment. In other words they can almost skip an embodiment by having the experience through the play. Of course the same is true with the book My Lives.   Some people will actually be able to skip many embodiments by reading that book and truly having the experience that they can have from it.  This is part of the purpose especially of the story form.  The Odyssey, The Iliad, many of these other classic stories you have are actually given to help people have an inner experience so they don’t need to go into a particular embodiment in order to have that same experience because it takes so much time for each embodiment.
