I sometimes meet the word that an ascended master is God-free. How do I understand this?
This answer was given by Kim Michaels at a conference in Holland.
Kim: There is an ascended master called Godfre. He was incarnated as Godfre Ray King, who was the leader of the I AM Movement.
Yes, but this is not what I mean. I mean God-free in consciousness.
Kim: It means that you have gone beyond this identification with the material, and you have transcended the ego, and so you are free in God. The way I see it is that you are free to acknowledge that you are a part of God, that you are an extension of God’s Being.
This, of course, is what we are brought up to deny here. We are “here” and God is “up there” somewhere. Either that or there’s no God. Even most religions will say that God is up there and we are definitely separated. We need a religion because we can’t contact God directly.
Of course, the reality is that we can because where did we all come from? There is really only One Mind, which has expressed itself as all of us. To me that’s what it means to be God-free, when you have let go of all these illusions and you acknowledge, “I AM a son or daughter of God.” You dare to accept that.
You can, of course, do that when you are in embodiment, but my understanding is that you can’t really fully let go of the separate self as long as you are in a physical body. Because the moment you let go, you can’t hold on to the body. So you need a little bit of that separateness.
